Navigating through life as a young alpha wasn’t the most ideal in teasan’s opinion but he managed. Especially since he has two older alphas by his side, his older brother whom he’s decently close to, and his best friend jaehyun who although one year older seemed more experienced growing up in a family full of alphas
So he was never left confused about many things during puberty and when he first presented back at 16, he was a quiet kid, introverted, and only showed goofiness around his close friend, something that definitely runs within their family blood as his brother sunghoon does exactly the same.
While sunghoon took to figure skating as a hobby, he as a music lover since childhood, took on dancing and writing his own music when possible, his mum supported his every step during that which he was really grateful for.
He was calm and collected during high school, never causing much trouble yet gaining tons of attention just by being jaehyun’s friend, his appearance and laid-off personality didn’t help his alluring aura so eventually he gained that untouchable image for himself.
All was under taesan’s control, and he was never upset with that, it only meant fewer people would approach him and he’d get all shy and anxious to talk to them, he also barely had time since he had dance classes to attend to or practices with jaehyun to catch.
But what was not under his control was the whiplash that one boy with long brown soft hair gave him the moment he stepped inside the practice room and saw him gently smiling at jungwon, a fellow member of the dance club.
He embarrassingly stood frozen in his place and stared at them without blinking. His presence wasn’t unfamiliar but it was pretty rare for him to pay attention to anything let alone stay in place to stare. And taesan should’ve realized that he’s an alpha, he’s wearing a baggy hoodie over his uniform and had his headphones on and he was looking at them from under his bangs, it wasn’t the most comfortable gaze to have upon you, and definitely not a way you show how beautiful he thought that stranger was.
Jungwon noticed the brown-haired stranger quieting down, so he turned to his side and finally noticed taesan at the door, he raised a brow, not used to having the alpha paying anyone or anything a mind at all as he walked towards him, gently pushing his head back a bit by the forehead, “you’re scaring him, asshole.” Jungwon said in a somewhat gentle tone.
What a loser was written all over jungwon’s face when the two exchanged looks and taesan all but quickly stuck his tongue out in jungwon’s face and then entered the room finally. He very awkwardly said his greetings to the beautiful stranger who introduced himself as donghyun but is preferred to be called leehan, “wow, you’re so beautiful,” He said without a single thought before he spoke. He tends to do so when he’s shy and anxious which he is whenever he talks to anyone he doesn’t know, let alone a beautiful stranger with the softest hands and calmest aura, “Marry me?” he helplessly added.
The shock on leehan’s face quickly faded into a cute laugh which definitely went mute under the laughs jaehyun and jungwon - who briefly turned into hyenas - let. Taesan can’t even look the beautiful boy in the eyes anymore and seemingly can’t let go of his hand that they shook as greetings.
Although he still doesn’t know what the boy’s secondary gender is, as he’s wearing scent blockers, he really doesn’t care, the beautiful boy is just his type personified, or maybe he never had a type before and leehan was his first crush.
Nonetheless what saved him from his embarrassment and his beet-red face was the beautiful stranger's soft chuckles and a small nod, “I mean, we’re still underage so maybe when we’re legal? I wouldn’t say no. Also, thank you, you’re pretty too.” His voice was really calm; matching his aura, and his eyes that he finally dared to look at were warm and brown and just lovely.
He finally cleared his throat and gently let go of his hand, “I don’t mind waiting. Well, that was one way to leave a first impression, but eh.., are you here to sign up or..?” He tried changing the topic, very much aware of his pheromones slowly seeping through the scent blockers, probably cause he had sweat a lot.
“Oh my, no, I’m here to give jungwon his airpods, as he’s so clumsily forgotten them back in class and was super lazy to go get them. I’m in the music club actually.” Taesan loves this stranger’s voice, he comes to terms that he really wants to listen to him talk his ears off about whatever for no matter how long he wants to.
Appreciating that leehan smoothly accepted the shift of topic he nodded, “Well, we have an upcoming competition this weekend, and we’d like a fresh eye to give us feedback, would you like to watch our dance?” Taesan was shocked at how he was offering a total stranger a place within the practice room where he deliberately always kicked jay, sunoo, his own older brother, and any of jaehyun’s many friends out because it’s a place to practice not to chat.
Jaehyun quickly caught on to that, “Hey- why did he get to watch us while you kicked all the gang out when I wanted?” He whined and taesan just casually took off his hoodie and blazer as he told him, “because he’ll give us feedback, unlike your friends who only here to yap and eat each other’s faces.”
“Oh, of course, you don’t have to if you don’t want to.” He finally looked back at leehan while pulling his tie loose, never missing the way his eyes followed taesan’s hand, “if I got such a special pass, I wouldn’t want to turn this opportunity down, i’ll sit aside, you guys go on.” He replied gently and looked back at jungwon briefly who was eyeing the situation with disbelief and betrayal all over his face.
True to his words, the club members quickly assembled, five of them, did their warmup then got into it, taesan’s eyes caught leehan’s through the mirror multiple times, each time it blasted a confident smile on the alpha’s face, he totally panicked his first impression but he’s pretty sure he’d fixed it with his dancing skills.
Soon the music stopped, and leehan stood up and clapped for them, giving them lots of compliments and some constructive criticism, turned out he danced for four years and then eventually quit, when he finally stopped talking, he quietly stood next to taesan and passed him his handkerchief, which was baby blue and with white sewed on it, and odd item to own at this age but taesan was never to judge, he thanked him and wiped his sweat off his face.
“You have more practice, right? I also need to leave, I already ditched my mum to stay back and watch you guys,” he stopped to giggle as if imagining his mum was funny, “I’ll see you tomorrow.” He waved a bit and left the room. Not giving taesan a chance to reply.
To say his friends teased him so badly that day, and the news broke through the group chat and even his older brother knew and came back from practice early just to have dinner and talk about it was something else.
And of course, when leehan said see you tomorrow it meant he was there during their English class but taesan always sleeps during that class so he never caught wind of having a shared class with the beautiful boy.
And he somehow didn’t get to discover he was an omega until three weeks of getting to know each other, and it was totally by accident, while taesan moves a lot during practice, anyone after classes can smell the alpha pheromones it was close enough to him, leehan was usually calm, either at the music club practicing his singing or taking care of a small section of the school garden.
So when he ran into taesan after school when the black-haired boy was leaving, it surprised taesan that he was running, and so out of breath that he almost fell if not for the alpha to hold him tight. Leehan’s chest was heaving and he was sweating a lot, that it almost sent taesan’s mind into a frenzy of omega omega omega.
“Hey hey, it’s okay I got you, what’s wrong?” Taesan tried to calm him down to understand what was so wrong with the younger, “H-he, jungwon! He fainted and I- couldn’t-“ he didn’t need to finish his sentence when taesan immediately asked in which direction he was, “I’ll get him, you take my phone and call jay hyung.” He said quickly and gave him his phone after unlocking it.
He couldn’t think straight much, leehan’s scent was all over him, he was incredibly worried about jungwon who had been sick since morning, and the whole situation was not helping him focus, but thankfully he soon spotted jungwon lying under a tree, probably pulled by leehan, and he immediately carried him, going back to school to find leehan on the floor hugging his knees and talking quietly over the phone.
“Hey, I’m going to the nurse's office, come with me.” He tried to say as softly as possible and leehan stood up quietly and went with him, still looking shaken up, smelling worryingly of distress and fear.
When they laid jungwon on the bed, the nurse immediately attended to him and his boyfriend was instantly present, he and the nurse took care of the omega while taesan escorted leehan out, and they sat on the ground in silence, now that leehan’s scent blockers are off, he can easily smell his state.
Looking at the usually really calm beautiful boy being so shaken up and reeking with anxiety wasn’t familiar, the boy was spacing out too, that’s when he remembered sunghoon’s words, about how when omega is stressed and needs comfort and safety, and how jake seeks it in being covered with his scent or physical touch.
So teasan did just that, he slowly released calming pheromones and subtly reached for the younger’s hand, and leehan let him. They didn’t say anything for a few minutes and taesan didn’t mind, but he felt leehan shaking his body relax slowly.
“He’ll be okay,” Taesan reassured, gently drawing shapes on the awfully soft skin of leehan’s hand, the younger said nothing, just alternating between holding the alpha’s hand tighter and hiding his face in taesan’s shoulder.
The raven-haired boy knew it was probably not the time, and it was not his place yet to ask why leehan was so scared of seeing jungwon’s unconscious body, he’ll probably know one day but for now, he doesn’t want the smell of anxiety lingering on his beautiful omega.
“Wanna watch weathering with you? I have some snacks back in my room and my brother and his boyfriend won’t probably be there so we can enjoy the silence too, oh! If you don’t know it, it’s an anime movie that came out last year, it’s kinda cool, I think you’d like it, it suits your vibe in a way, of course, that means we have to go back to my house, so if you’re not comfortable…,” taesan can feel himself rambling embarrassingly, what started as a casual offer turned into a whole news segment.
He was again shocked by the sound of faint laughter, and felt the long hair tickle his neck as leehan nodded, “I.. I think I’d love to.” Came the shy reply. “Wanna a piggyback ride?” Taesan looked back at him smiling, jokingly offering, but the way the younger’s eyes sparkled and his lips turned into a tiny circle made him more than willing to do it for real.
Leehan ended up gently turning the offer down yet very shyly asked if they could still hold hands, and taesan blushed and readily nodded and guided their way home. The school was already empty so he didn’t have to worry about rumors spreading about them yet.
The trip home was comfortably quiet, taesan occasionally talking about sunghoon and jake and leehan nods his head alongside him, when the older opened the door; he was soon greeted by his mum, all dressed up and holding her keys, seemingly about to leave.
Her eyes lit up at the sight of her youngest son, “oh baby you’re home, I’m leaving soon, hoon will be home after practice most likely so make sure to have something to eat don’t just- oh my, sorry for not noticing you earlier sweet darling.” Her voice was soft as she informed taesan about the situation and was taking her shoe out of the cabin then her eyes met with the beautiful omega holding hands with taesan still and partly hiding behind him.
Leehan quickly bowed to her, “No please, I’m sorry for suddenly showing up without a prior notice.” He said softly which made her smile soften more, “What a sweet baby, you sure about my son? He has the angst in him-“ she said but taesan complained stopping her but the annoyance quickly washed away by the gentle laughter of the blushing omega, who chose not to comment on the indication of the two being involved together.
“Well, just, man... we’ll watch a movie, save drive, and have fun.” The alpha sighed and pulled leehan with him, who gave a last bow to her and followed the older, taesan’s room was on the second floor as expected, the room was filled with posters and discarded band T-shirts and two guitars on stands and a giant bed for one teenage boy, but it seems that taesan’s family was more on the wealthier side.
Leehan stood there, at the entrance stunned, the place reeks with taesan’s scent, the scent that he struggled the most to name, taesan smells like the sea, like the wind that hits your face at night near the sea, and leehan loves the sea more than anything.
“I’m sorry is the place too messy? I definitely wasn’t expecting a cute visitor so didn’t care much about how I left the place.” Taesan chuckled his nerves away, after all, leehan was the first omega he brought home, and the first crush he ever had, who was in his room right now.
But he didn’t want to stray from why they’re here in the first place, so he looked back to leehan’s eyes who looked at him innocently and he decided they were definitely watching that movie and definitely cheering the beautiful boy that he wanted to marry up.
So he guided the smaller boy to his bed, finally letting go of his hand, and turned his huge TV on and reached for the remote, selecting the movie and grabbing his phone, “Pizza?” He said casually as he turned to look at leehan again, the older who seemed more relaxed now nodded silently, which taesan learned wasn’t negative.
Soon taesan altered his school uniform with a black hoodie and sat beside the younger boy, and per the request of the omega, the movie wouldn’t start till the pizza was here. So taesan took a moment to admire the other.
“Are we feeling a bit better now?” He asked gently, and leehan smiled, small but sure, “Thanks to you, Mr. Charming.” He chuckled softly, the nickname that jungwon gave him a while ago, he usually doesn’t like it, but he finds himself endeared when it comes from leehan.
As leehan chuckles, his hair falls gracefully on his face, making the alpha feel things in his stomach, “can I braid your hair?” He asked suddenly, tone calm so as not to come off too strong. Leehan stared at him for a few seconds, “You know how to style hair?” He asked, big eyes innocent as he looked up.
“Oh yes, I always did mum’s hair so I kinda do.” The alpha said nonchalantly. Leehan’s eyes sparkled more if possible, “then please style my hair to your liking.” He gave him the permission and taesan wasted no time.
That day marked a first in so many things in their relationship, the first time he knew leehan was an omega, the first time he brought over a crush to his house, the first time he touched anyone’s hair but his mum’s, the first time he cuddles anyone but his brother for movies, and definitely first time having his crush softly nap on his chest.
That day also started a lot of their habits, now taesan is leehan’s personal hair stylist, now they watch movies as a comfort activity and cuddle, and now leehan is taesan’s mum’s absolute favorite alongside jake, definitely not on her sons side in any type of way.
Leehan and taesan ended up dating six months into knowing each other, they graduated high school together, took the college entrance exam together, passed, looked for an apartment together, and moved in together, spending three years of their lives together.
