“how could you do that to Remus? You promised you wouldn't tell anyone about their secret!” James says angrily
“Prongs, I didn't mean for it to get out. It just slipped out in conversation. I didn’t think he would go.” Sirius trying to defend he’s case like he’s in court
" It just slipped out "? Sirius, you know how important that secret was to Remus. They trusted you!”
“I know, I know. I messed up. But it wasn't intentional. I never wanted to hurt Remus.” Sirius feeling even more regretful
“Intentional or not, the damage is done. Remus is devastated. They feel completely betrayed by you.” James trying to get his point across
“I feel terrible, Prongs. I wish I could take it back. I didn't realize the impact it would have.” Sirius pleading
James feels like he’s about to go insane
“You should have thought about that before you opened your mouth. Trust is fragile, Sirius. Once it's broken, it's hard to repair.” James turns his back on Sirius
“I get it, Prongs. I really do. But please, help me make it right. I want to apologize and try to fix this.” Sirius says tears coming down his face
“Sirius I can’t do this with you right now!” James screams “Pron- James please it feel like my life is falling apart” Sirius whines
“ No! You only think about yourself that’s how you got into the mess Sirius just try to not think about yourself” James says trying to pled with Sirius
“Well I’m sorry I’ve had a hard life” Sirius cry’s
“Regulus had a hard life, Remus had a hard life but you don’t see they exposing people secret” James spits out “don’t bring me brother in this. You don’t even know him!” Sirius yells at James
“Your right I don’t but he would never betray a friend like you have” James says tear about to spill out “Just like you’re doing right now” Sirius says
A fragment starts in James heart a person he thought would never hurt him in anyway has and he never thought it would be this bad
James cracks
“I can’t right now you aren’t thing about what you’re saying. Fix your fucking life before coming at me” James cry’s out
That was the first time James actually cursed at Sirius he knows why Regulus looks broken-hearted in the halls
He knows how the younger brother felt
James rushs out of the dorm room and is walking down the hall. His eyes are becoming blurry. It feels like everyone’s eyes are on him watching him fail
Fail at what nether they or James knows
He walks to the other side of Hogwarts and see a little door open just a little bit with light coming out of it
He thought nothing of it as he busts in kicking the door close with his foot
He hits the wall with his fist and bangs his head on the wall “hi” a small voice creaks out
They same small boy he was feeling pity for early “Regulus! Hi..um sorry”
“It’s fine” Regulus says barely
“It’s just your stupid fucking brother” James starts to ramble as he’s taking a sit next to Regulus on a sit hanging from the ceiling much like the one Regulus is sitting on
“Where are we?.. you know what nevermind! Was your brother always like that you know Sirius I mean Merlin! He’s so selfish I mean he was trusted with a secret that could ruin someone life that could get someone killed! I mean you would think he would have common sense I mean I get you now I get he just a attention attracter. There’s other people that selfish asshole or maybe I’m self I mean if I could have just” James can’t breathe he can’t-
Regulus kisses James
Not a deep one just a peck that bring James out of his head “ I read once that holding your breath stops a panic attack..so when I kissed you. You held your breath” Regulus explained looking at James dumbfounded look
“I did” he asked
“You did” he replies
“Thanks that really smart” James says and Regulus laughs to that comment
And all James can think about is the kiss not even a kiss but a peck
I’ve kissed girls before. But tell me why my breathing stops as soon as his mouth meet mine? Tell me why my fucking heart skips? And tell me why I liked it? James think but he’s interrupted
“Oh and I found this place last year about the time when Sirius left so I fixed it up. It was the place they would send kids to get their homework done but locking kids in a broom closet isn’t the best so they locked it up but I found it” Regulus rambles just like James did before
Regulus takes a deep breath before he continues “but for what it’s worth Remus and Sirius will figure it out. I mean Remus loves Sirius so you know that quote ‘ blinded by love’ ”
“Yeah I guess your right” James laughs it off “wait how do you know about Remu-“
“We all have our secrets Prongs and I’m not a stupid as my brother” Regulus says as exiting the broom closet
And all James can do is laugh and smirk and he also thinks. Damn maybe I got the wrong brother
