The Cryptographer is an I.T.bot Manager that can only be fought in the I.T.bot HQ. He is the final boss of the Private Eye Spy taskline and must be fought to complete the taskline. He can be fought at any time. There is no limit to the Cogs that can join.
Toons fighting against The Cryptographer will not be subjected to content sync.

Cog Capacity
This battle allows up to a maximum of five Cogs at once. These Cogs can join from off the street.
Lure Resistance
The Cryptographer can only be lured for 1 round
Incognito
The Cryptographer disguises himself amongst the employees. While on the street the Cryptographer appears as a random employee Cog. The only way to spot him is by checking the name tag of the Cog for errors such as misspellings and numbers instead of letters.
Disconnect
The Cryptographer silences all forms of Toon communication. On turn one and the turn when a new Toon joins the fight the Cryptographer will inflict the Disconnected debuff. While Toons have this debuff they will not be able to see their exact Laff number or the Gag choices of other Toons. Any messages sent in the Chat by Toons with the Dissconected debuff will be scrambled. This debuff lasts until the end of the fight.
Encryption
The Cryptographer encrypts the Cog's data. Every 2 turns the Cryptographer will give a random Cog the Encrypted buff. Cogs with this buff have their health number hidden. Every Cog with the Encrypted buff gives the Cryptographer a bonus attack from Hot Fix.
Hot Fix
The Cryptographer patches out any weaknesses he finds. For every Cog with the Encrypted buff the Cryptographer will gain a bonus attack. This attack is a single target version of Command Line that deals 20 damage.
Digital Disguise
The Cryptographer masks himself and the Cogs. When the maximum ammount of Cogs are in battle the Cryptographer will give all Cogs and himself the Anonymous buff. This buff change the appearance of himself and all Cogs into an Anonymous Cog. It also shuffle the position of himself and all Cogs in battle, hides their health number, and any status effects they have. This buff lasts for 3 turns. While the Cryptographer has the Anonymous buff he cannot use any cheats.
Strategy
It's best to discuss with your teammates how you will attack the Cryptographer before fighting him.
Memorizing or having a list of the Cryptographer's attacks can help identify him during Digital Disguise.
Toons can still see the colored bars in the Laff meter when they have the Disconnected debuff to get a rough idea of how much Laff they have.
Similarly, Cogs with the Encrypted or Anonymous buff will still have their chest light showing.

The Cryptographer's head from the front looks like the Google Incognito mode symbol.
A Cryptographer is someone who uses codes and ciphers to protect important information.
John Doe is the name given to men without identities. No one knows if that is the real name of the Cryptographer.
The Cryptographer references "Nord VPN" in one of his defeat dialogues.
He also references the Connection Terminated monolog from Five Nights At Freddy's: Pizza Simulator in one of his Disconnected dialogues.
The Cryptographer's like of ceaser salad is a reference to the ceaser cipher. A popular cipher used to encrypt messages.
