Notes:

This story was written on an experience that I have had personally. The emotions that Izuku is feeling in the beginning were the emotions that I had. Though this story took a different turn than when I originally was writing it. I do love how it came out

Work Text:

The pain was almost unbearable, but Izuku knew that it was only going to get worse as his day progressed. A deep, almost throbbing pain radiated from his lower torso as he curled up on his icy tile of the bathroom, clutching his frail body. He had felt that something was wrong this morning when he had woken up. He had felt emptier, like he was missing something crucial to his soul. Just that morning he had no desire to eat the hot breakfast that his neighbor and best friend had made for him. Izuku knew that Kacchan didn’t need to make him breakfast, but his friend always prepared too much for himself, so he started to leave a container of it in Izuku’s box by his door before he left for work recently.

It was just a few months ago that Izuku had found out that something he had always wanted for so long was finally coming true. Yet he wasn't sure how he was supposed to feel about it because he no longer was in the relationship that created the new life he now grew. Shindo wasn’t the best choice when it came to Alphas. He ended up cheating on Izuku multiple times and ended up getting another Omega, a girl, pregnant as well. He couldn’t be upset with Tatami Nakagame, the girl Shindo left him for. She was a lovely person and was so sweet to Izuku when she and Shindo talked to him about their affair.

She hadn’t known that Shindo was already involved, but she said she was in love. He was everything that she wanted and she was so excited to be a dam. She was a bit younger than both Shindo and Izuku, only being 23 to Izuku’s 28 and Shindo’s 30 years. It pained Iuzku to hear her express her excitement when he was only a few weeks further along in the pregnancy than her. She spoke of their life together and how he already mated with her on the third date they had. Shindo had never wanted to talk about mating, even though he and Izuku had dated for two years at that point.

But, right now, Izuku is in so much pain physically as when he had been left heartbroken and alone three weeks ago. His whole body ached from head to toe, and he was cramping horribly. Blood had been dripping from his lower half all day in slow, sporadic movements. He knew what was happening, what his body was doing as a survival instinct. Izuku just wouldn’t allow his mind to think of it at the moment.

So instead, he thought about how Kacchan was probably at work right now, sketching up some new designs for a future client or a current one that was coming in today. He had left Izuku a couple rolled omelets with red bean pancakes in his box today. The food was now left on his counter untouched from how the smell caused him to wretch up bile. Kacchan would be upset if he knew Izuku wasn’t eating. He always was when Izuku told him he hadn’t eaten that day or had forgotten his lunch when he stopped by the shop after his own job was done.

He wanted to be held close by his Alpha, all his instincts screamed for his child’s sire to just hold him and tell him he would be ok. But, Shindo never would, he never loved Izuku. Izuku was a passing fancy. A rarity in this cruel world that Shindo used for his own amusement. Hell, the man wasn’t even happy for Izuku when he was shown the five tests Izuku had taken. Called the Omega a slut and said he was using him for his money (Shindo worked in construction and was next for a promotion into management).

So Izuku laid alone on the cold floor of his bathroom at 10 am, writhing in pain as his body forced a miscarriage of the only good thing he had left in his life for himself. He was alone. His father abandoned him when he presented, his mother worked herself to an early grave, and the man who created this child called him nothing more than a toy. He wanted to cry as his hormones screamed for his unborn pup, only ten weeks old. Izuku had wanted this child, needed this child. He never cared who the sire was, he always wanted to have a family and this pregnancy was his last chance. He knew he could always try again later with a new person, but that thought eased none of the sorrow that tormented his body

He laid near motionless on the floor as a deep sadness drenched his body and tore apart his heart. He knew he needed to call someone, to help him break from the bonds he put on his own mind, but he couldn’t. His body just held onto itself, a way to protect itself from more pain. The drip of the sink he hadn’t had a chance to fix yet was the lone sound that wasn’t his own. Even his hair hurt as voices of his own creation whispered into his ear.

“You’re still nothing.”
“Filthy Omega.”
“Your unborn pup didn’t even want you.”
“He was right. Just a toy, never a mother.”

Breaking through, the breathless voices plaging him, his phone rang throughout the empty apartment. A simple tune from a long forgotten silly tv show he watched as a child. He had made it the contact ringtone for Kacchan since they always watched it together as children. He couldn’t answer it. He mentally was exhausted and physically could not move his body to care for what may come from not replying to his friend. The tune ended and a soft trill sounded, alerting the greenette to a new voicemail.

Izuku had already called off from work the moment he woke up feeling sick. He only told them that he felt nauseous and that his body ached. His company knew he was pregnant, they had to know for his safety during his job, so they gave him a day of his sick leave he was planning to use when he had his child. Izuku worked in robotics as an engineer. Though a lot of the job was just being behind a desk or computer, he was one of the only engineers in the firm that was also certified to build and run the machines they made. Hence his safety was very important. Kacchan was upset when Izuku had started the building process, but he simmered down when he saw how great the nerd was at it.

Time had ticked by and Izuku hadn’t known if he had been on his bathroom floor for thirty minutes or three hours. Time wasn’t very present to him in his current frame of mind. Plus his body was still cramping and convulsing upon itself to expel the clump of cells that was beginning to form. So when a pounding at his door sounded out, he was utterly confused. Even if he had been laying there for three hours, no one should be at his door. Kacchan had work and clients and Ochaco was out of town visiting her boyfriend for the week.

The pounding didn’t stop and it caused the throbbing in his head to increase as it felt like the door was about to break. He needed to get up, needed to tell them to stop. They had the wrong apartment. He was sick and needed rest. He needed to get up off this cold tile and be someone besides a broken Omega. With as much energy as he had left, Izuku rolled to his stomach and pushed off the ground. Arms burning from the stress of holding so tight to now shoving all 165 lbs of his body up. Air caught in his lungs as he tried to position his legs into a runner’s stance. The bathroom door was closed so there was another obstacle.

He was almost upright enough to crawl to the door when a voice closer than he wanted roared out into the quiet of the home. “Deku! Why the hell aren’t you at work?!” He was coming closer to the bathroom, doors to other rooms opening and slamming shut. His scent was filling the apartment, angry and distressed. Why wasn’t Kacchan wearing his normal blockers? He wore them every day he worked since he was regularly so close to his clients through his tattooing. “I went to your office to check on you on a break I had and that cunt of a receptionist said you had called out.” His voice was growing closer and the smell he was emitting was growing thicker and thicker in Izuku’s lungs. “Why is breakfast still on your counter? If you’re sick you better tell me now before I find your fucking ass and take you to the doc myself!”

Fear mixed with Izuku’s sorrow as the thought of Kacchan finding out what happened hit his brain. Izuku failed to mention his recent breakup and pregnancy to his friend. Viewing it as nothing to worry about until he actually needed more help from the man. So, the thought of Kacchan knowing how messed up his life was right now and how he was cheated on and thrown away filled Izuku’s unblocked glands with a sour essence. He could smell his own distressed scent of vinegar and lemons filling the bathroom. Meaning, so could Kacchan.

“Izuku. I smell you. Why are you distressed? What the fuck happened?!” The rough timber of Kacchan’s voice soothed something in Izuku’s Omega brain that he didn’t want to understand.

Thunderous stomps edged closer to the locked bathroom door as Izuku felt the Alpha’s presence overtaking his mind. How could he have let everything in his life go to shit? How could Izuku have allowed Shindo to use him and leave him alone pregnant? How could he body reject the one thing keeping him happy in the shit storm he was weathering? Why did Kacchan have to come into his home right at this moment and see how broken his friend was?

All those thoughts filled Izuku’s brain as the door was rammed open and the blonde tattoo artist burst into the room. His scent of cardamine washing over the vinegar and lemon scent Izuku had been putting out. Ruby eyes locked onto emerald ones filled with tears and rimmed red as the man crouched down and picked the smaller man up. He had said something but all the ringing in Izuku’s brain couldn’t allow him to focus on the words being voiced. Izuku felt himself being moved out into the open air front room as he was placed down on the couch and covered up with one of his favorite blankets to nest with. Had Kacchan gone into his room to grab it for him?

He stared blankly at the off TV as Kacchan moved around the area and into the kitchen. Moving and shifting items around in the way he liked them to be. The buzzing in his brain still humming as the calming scent Kacchan was putting off slowly lured him into a light sleep. The sound of rice being washed and vegetables being cut were the last things Izuku knew before he was out.

Dim evening light streaming through his half pulled curtains as Izuku awoke to his living room. He was lying down on his couch and his TV was on some cooking show. He didn’t remember getting up and coming out. The last thing he remembered was being in the bathroom crying in pain as his body forced a miscarriage. He had been on the floor when someone started pounding on his front door. He panicked and tried to get up, but his body was too weak to allow it. Someone had broken in and he smelt them nearing closer. Then…he couldn’t remember what happened. Did he faint? Where was the person who broke in? Did he dream everything and was actually still pregnant? Hope filled his body as he shifted to get up, but a sharp stabbing pain hit him smack in the gut as that hope quickly flooded away. He was still in pain and was still miscarrying.

The sound of the TV drowned out most of the noise around him but he could sense someone was nearby in the home. Craning his neck, Izuku looked over the arm of the couch to see the tall bulky frame of a man. His head and face were obscured by some stupid decoration Izuku had placed up by the wall. Trying to move more to see who it was, Izuku moved his body to position more onto his side. But the twisting movement shoved a gasp from his lips and alerted the intruder to him. They came rushing from the kitchen.

“Deku! You ok? Are you still not feeling well?” The rough voice of Kacchan filled Izuku’s ears as the world around him spun. The tall Alpha crouched down to look the Omega in the eyes as he spoke again. “You don’t have a fever and you look fine minus the pain I smell on you…So, care to tell me what is going on Nerd? Had me worried when you weren’t at work or answering me.”

Kacchan’s eyes glistened in the low light of the home and the orange sunset behind him. He still wore no blockers so Izuku was getting a full face of his cardamine scent as his brain tried to piece all the pieces together. Slowly he took a breath and mouthed his first words since this morning. “Kacchan. I’m fine. You didn’t need to check up on me.” Izuku tried to move, but still the stabbing pain wracked his body. Sensing that something really was up, the blonde helped raise the greenette and sit him down on the end of the couch so that he could sit next to him.

“Deku, I have never seen you in the over two decades of knowing you not go into work while still sick.” a soft look fell on the blonde’s face as he gazed at the smaller man. “You even went into work when you had a temp of 102॰ and couldn’t smell anything. So, knowing that you skipped work was a bit distressing.”

“I just don’t feel good ok Kacchan. Nothing else.” Izuku tried to smile to throw the blonde off the case. He couldn’t bear to let the man know what was actually happening. Once upon a time Izuku had a crush on Kacchan. Followed him everywhere he went and even followed him when the Alpha started being mean to him in middle school. But he stopped chasing after the man when he was repeatedly reminded by everyone around him that he wasn’t ever going to be good enough for the man. Kacchan was smart and good at everything he did. He had been offered a full-ride scholarship to a prodigious university once they graduated. Izuku had to take out loans and get financial aid to just be able to attend the local state university he graduated from. So, ya, Izuku was reminded that he wasn’t worth Kacchan’s affection and that his now friend would find someone just as great as he was to start a family with while Izuku stayed where he was.

Kacchan had graduated with a biochemical degree and double majored in food science. But he never used those degrees like everyone thought. The man instead apprenticed at a tattoo parlor once he graduated and then started his own shop a few years later. Mistuki didn’t like that her son was wasting his potential (income) by just being a “shitty tattoo guy”. Masaru was just happy for his son to be happy in what he was doing.

“I don’t believe you Deku.” Izuku was brought back to reality with the scrap of Kacchan’s voice. His face was pulled into a tight lipped expression that showed annoyance and concern mixed together. “Anyway, I still make you Okayu just in case your stomach hurts.” He shifted in the spot on the couch and looked towards the TV that was still showing the cooking show. “You can have it now or wait a bit until my dinner is done so we can eat together.”

“Um…I can wait,” Izuku squealed as the piercing eyes of Kacchan again fell onto him. Ok, so he never got over his crush. He still very much liked Kacchan and wanted him to mate with him, but he knew it wasn’t going to ever happen. He quickly looked away from the scarlet eyes he very much adored and back to the TV playing how to temp candy when at home.

The blonde shifts a bit in his spot as if he was weighing an option in his mind. He too focused on the TV, still continuing the conversation. “If you aren’t feeling well tomorrow when I check on you, I’m calling all my appointments off and we are going to that doc in the box down the road.” Izuku tried to deny needing anything but the blonde cut him off before a sound left his lips. “You can try and tell me no, but I work the hours I want and it doesn't seem like your shitty boyfriend is wanting to help ‘ya.” He puffed out a hot tsk of air as Kacchan crossed his arms and sunk a bit lower into the couch.

A blush formed over Izuku’s face as he was reminded that he never told his friend that Shindo had broken up with him. He really didn’t want to have to tell the blonde. He knew Kacchan never liked the Alpha and told Izuku multiple times that he was too good for the “snake of an Alpha”. Izuku really didn’t want to hear how right Kacchan had been. “Um…well…the thing is…” He tried to find the words he needed to say. They were stuck in his chest, like a bad ball of phlegm.

Kacchan looked over, eyeing the green haired man as he fiddled with his fingers. Izuku always figited when he was nervous. Casually, the blonde turned his body, grabbing the remote and turned the TV off. He knew it was going to be a long conversation. “Just spit it out, Nerd.”

“Well, Shindo won’t be coming over to help.” Kacchan’s face grew redder as Izuku continued. “Ever again…he…um…kinda…”

“GOD DAMMIT NERD! Just fucking spit it out!” He knew Kacchan wasn’t mad at him, he was upset at Shindo for whatever Izuku was about to tell him. Still, Izuku was scared.

“He cheated on me and got another Omega girl pregnant and decided that he wanted to be with her more because I was just a toy for him. And he did this all with her present and she was ok with all of it since I was a male Omega and hence, not really all that important. I mean, it’s really not easy for a male Omega to make a family and females can easily be pregnant and all Alpha’s want a family and to have their bloodline continue. So I get that he went with her after being with me for so long. I really am ok. I promise Kacchan.” Everything came out at once and Izuku as normal could not contain the amount he spewed forth.

If Izuku was worried that Kacchan would be upset that he was right, he would have been wrong. No, his friend was pissed that Izuku’s supposed boyfriend had cheated on him and dumped him so easily. Izuku could see the pure murder that was etched on Kacchan’s face. Before he could grab the blonde’s arm to ground him, the Alpha was up and grabbing his coat from the rack he always placed it on.

“Kacchan! Don’t go! Your dinner will burn!” Izuku tried to race up and grab him, but the stabbing pain was back and he fell hard onto the couch below him. Tears streaming in his eyes as he faintly heard the blonde say his food was already done and to not worry about it, he would be back. Then his broad shoulders exited through the pine of Izuku’s front door with a click. Again, the apartment was left in silence as Izuku was left staring at the door.

Izuku did see Kacchan later that evening. The man waltzed back into Izuku’s apartment three hours later sporting a new black eye and a few cuts on his hands. He went straight to the kitchen and grabbed the food he had prepared for himself and crashed onto the couch that Izuku hadn’t moved from yet. The TV was playing a rerun of an old All Might cartoon that both Izuku and Kacchan watched as kids. Izuku was almost passed out when the Alpha had arrived back.

He sat so close to the Omega that the warmth radiating off his body was enough to soothe some of the cramping Izuku was still experiencing. Not wanting to bother the man who obviously was tired, Izuku kept his eyes trained on the screen. After a few more minutes of Kacchan eating in silence he finally broke the veil.

“I found the douche at that bar he likes to hang out at. Had the Omega with him. You were right, he got her knocked up. Got a bit angry about how he dumped my best friend so I hit him. But, that chick. She’s got a hell of a right hook. Took one swing and gave me this eye.” He pointed to his black eye, wincing as he accidentally touched the sensitive skin. “The piece of shit told me something as he got up. Something about wasting his time on a useless Omega like you and how you and that kid were nothing to him.” He turned his head and placed the container of half eaten food down on the coffee table. Red piercing eyes burning into his own. Izuku was sweating again. No sound resonated as Kacchan kept his eyes locked. Izuku could hear his own heart beating rapidly in his frail chest. “Izuku…what was Vibration Boy talking about?” His words are cold as his stare.

Blood ran cold through Izuku’s veins as his mind struggled to create an answer that would hide the pain he was having and still give enough for Kacchan to leave it to be. Izuku could find nothing in his vast knowledge to create a good enough lie, so he would just have to fudge the truth. “Shindo and I accidentally conceived during my last heat. You know that the Omega birth control pill only has a 97% chance of working.” Izuku tried to laugh but the air was stuck in his lungs. Only a small squeak was all he could manage. “He wasn’t happy and that’s why he broke up with me. Tatami was just another layer to it all. So don’t worry Kacchan.” His smile felt fake as he hoped it all was enough to get Kacchan off the topic.

The blonde kept eye contact with his friend as Izuku could sense the gears moving in his head. Giving off no indication of what he was feeling, Kacchan rose from his spot on the couch and went to place the now empty container back into the kitchen. Izuku would hear water running as he tried to twist to get a better view. The pain wasn’t better and the movement caused more to cascade throughout his body. Causing him to give off a pained scent.

Quickly, the blonde flew back to him and scooped the smaller man up as he checked him for what was causing the pain. “Deku! What happened? Why are you in pain?” A calming scent was being released by the blonde to mask the rancidness of Izuku’s pain. “Did you hurt yourself when I was gone? I told you to stay and that I would be back. You never fucking listen.” He was getting a bit red as he held the smaller Omega up by his own scent glands.

“I-I-I’m ok Kacchan!” Izuku managed to say as the mixture of his pain and arousal combined. “Please, could you put me back down?” Izuku really wanted his friend to leave. He was embarrassed already that Kacchan knew about Shindo. He didn’t want his friend to know that he had lost the unborn pup already and was very attracted to him. One thing at a time was what Izuku wanted. But fortunately the blonde listened and placed the greenette back into the spot he was just on.

“Ok, but answer me Deku.” As soon as Izuku was placed down, Kacchan moved to sit across from him on the small footstool the man kept in the living room. It made them look eye to eye. “So you’re pregnant.” It sounded more like a fact than a question. Izuku just nodded. “How long Deku? Douchebag said he left you weeks ago.” The Alpha grinded his teeth when he asked the previous question.

Releasing a whine, Izuku took a small breath in and pulled his All Might blanket up around his neck. Covering his whole body as if it was a way to protect himself from the fear he had. “Over two months now. Shindo broke up with me three weeks ago.” Red eyes widened at the new information. “But, I didn’t tell you because it wasn’t important really.”

Izuku had looked down at his own hands now, embarrassed of himself and what he was feeling. He was upset that he was telling the guy he really did like that he was (had been) pregnant and that he didn’t want to tell him because Izuku didn’t think it was important for the man to know. “How the hell was that not important!?” The sudden screaming broke Izuku from his stare at his hands and back up to the glowing eyes focused on him.\

“Hu?”

“How the hell was it not important to tell me Deku!? I had been feeling like a shitty person for weeks now because I had a fucking urge to take care of you. I’ve been leaving you fucking food for three weeks idiot!” Izuku was confused. Why did that make Kacchan feel like a bad person? “So, all along you were not in a relationship with the asshole while you were eating my food, and I come to realize it was because I could fucking sense you were not being provide for while pregnant!” Kacchan stood up as he continued. He now towered over the smaller man.

“W-What do you mean Kacchan?” Izuku’s fear flared again

“W-What does that mean? What does that mean?! It means I was fucking providing for your sorry ass and I thought I was impeeding on another Alpha’s mate. And all along you were single, pregnant, and just allowed me to look stupid!”

Jumping up now, ignoring the pain searing through his body, Izuku lept at Kacchan. Hoping the blonde would catch him. He did, but still kept the Omega at arm’s length. “I wasn’t!” Tears formed on Izuku’s lashes as he tried to wiggle closer. “I like your food. It made me happy when I got to eat it. I was sad that Shindo left me, but I was ok with it. I had-” Izuku stopped before he went further.

“You had what Deku?” Ice filled that question.

Izuku bit at his tongue, cursing his mouth for speaking before his mind filtered. “I had…I had…you.” Izuku didn’t keep eye contact as he whispered the last word to his best friend. Izuku could sense that Kacchan was tense, his body was rigid and his scent had soured a bit. Was Kacchan pissed or sad? He dared not look back up, so he wiggled from the rough grasp he was in to fall a few inches down. Another flair of the pain hit his scent as he landed.

Silence. That’s what filled the room as both men stood mere inches apart. No one spoke, no sound playing. The TV was off and with how late it was on a Wednesday, no one was going to be racing around outside the door. They were alone.

“Izuku…” The word rang in Izuku’s ears as he slowly tipped his head up to look at the man he called his best friend. He was met with no expression he had ever seen on the man’s face. Adoration. It flowed from the man’s eyes and down his face as Izuku stood paralyzed in his place. “I don’t care that he dumped you. You were always too good for him anyway. I do care that I felt like I was crossing a boundary leaving breakfast for you every morning for the past three weeks, when I wasn’t. Why couldn’t you just tell me?” His words were soft. So unlike the man they came out from. Carefully he outreached his hands towards Izuku, like he was afraid to touch him.

Izuku attempted to step back but the couch had him trapped. He closed his eyes as he felt the large, calloused hands brush his skin and a heat flared up from his groin. This wasn’t the time for his stupid body to get aroused. “Um, Kacchan…” He tried to speak, still unable to.

“Deku, please, why?” Izuku could almost sense the pain behind those words. He wanted to answer, he really did. But his brain was going a million miles an hour. He was depressed, in pain, scared, and anxious. How could he form words clear enough that Kacchan would have an answer. So Izuku did the only thing he knew would translate, he leaned in and gave a low, soft keen towards the blonde Alpha in his home. He wasn’t keening to tell Kacchan to soothe him or stop, he was keening to tell Kacchan he was overwhelmed and he needed help with everything in his brain. The last time Izuku had ever keened was when in middle school after Kacchan really started bullying him. At that moment, the keen was never answered. Right now, Kacchan froze in his place and a deep croon answered him back.

The large hands around his frame dropped to the blonde’s side as Kacchan lowered his gaze and slammed back down atop the footstool he had just been on. Izuku kept the sound going until he felt the anxiety bleed from his veins as he too lowered himself back onto the soft couch below him. Both men stopped their noise soon after.
They sat in silence once again, until Izuku’s heart rate leveled out and he felt a small weight release. “Kacchan. I didn’t want to bother you. You have a life outside of me and my problems. Plus, I liked pretending that someone cared enough to worry for me. I figured you just made extra and didn’t want to waste it. I never once turned down your food.” He attempted a light laugh but it still came out sounding wrong. “So don’t worry. You don’t have to keep giving me food. I don’t really need it now.”

Wine eyes latched onto his uncomfortable face as he tried to soothe the man of any fault. “I never made extra Deku. I made it all for you. Every time.” It sounded flat and obvious. Like Izuku should have known that was what Kacchan had been doing. “I had this need to provide for you. To make sure you were cared for. I thought my instincts were just going crazy because I had a rut coming up. But it was too early and it went on for weeks.” The man shifted an arm to reach out and grab onto one of Izuku’s hands. “I think I know why I had this need to make you food. Your mate left you while you were pregnant. Congrats by the way…I’m, er…happy for ‘ya” His smile felt so fake, just a mask to his true emotions.

Izuku allowed Kacchan to hold his hand, but he could sense the torment that was brewing in the man before him. “Kacchan, I’m not.”

“Not what?” Wine eyes widened at the greenette, pleading for the answer. Hoping for news that only he would be excited for.

With a deep breath and a clenched fist, Izuku forced the words from his trembling lips. “I’m not pregnant anymore. Lost it this morning…still am right now.” Sorrow sank into the air as the vinegar and lemon smell filled the room. Kacchan’s hand around Izuku’s flexed involuntarily to the words and smell surrounding him. His eyes flashed to sadness and then despair as Izuku looked at the man he loved. Without any warning the large man pulled Izuku into his heated body and held him tight. Near crushing his bones and overriding the pain from his miscarriage.

With Izuku pressed into his gland, Kacchan spoke. “I’m sorry ‘Zuku. I’m so very sorry.” A warm hand cupped Izuku’s head as the other rubbed up and down his back. Soothing him and all the fears racing through his mind. “I wish you would have told me what happened. With Shindo and why you had really called out this morning. I worried so much about you, I fucking broke your door trying to get into your bathroom.” He chuckled at that confession. “I would have helped you. Beat the fuck out of the shitty Alpha who never deserved you and held your hand as something I could never experience happened to you.”

Tears again started to form on Izuku’s lashes and the man holding him talked into his ear. Soothing him. Holding him. Loving him. It broke his heart to know that this was the man he loved, had loved for so long, and could never have. Kacchan was going to find an amazing Omega to make a family with and he would treasure her. Izuku was sure of it. It was a fact that Izuku had to come to terms with when he first started to realize how much he loved the Alpha he grew up with.

“Th-th-thank you Kacchan.” It was so quiet that Izuku was sure Kacchan almost didn’t hear it until the man shoved Izuku closer and the overwhelming scent of cardamine cascaded over Izuku and wrapped him in warmth.

“Nerd. I don’t think you get what I’m meaning.” Now grabbing onto Izuku’s hair, Kacchan gave a small kiss to the freckled cheek near him. “I was angry because someone who should have never had you had my world. He had someone who was amazing, smart and fucking adorable. He had a chance to make a family with that same person, and he threw it all away from an Omega who actually is using him.” At that Izuku turned and was now face to face with the blonde. “Trust me, I can tell when someone is only in it for selfish reasons. I spent eight years drowning myself in relationships for selfish reasons.”

“What do you mean?”

“What I mean is that for eight years I have lied to every single person I have ever been with. They never meant anything to me. My heart was taken eight years ago and was never given back. I still don’t have it back, but I hope the guy I gave it to may let me have his in its place.” Kacchan gazed so deeply into Izuku’s eyes that suddenly something just clicked. Like a missing piece of a 1,000 piece puzzle was finally found and returned.

“K-K-Kacchan…you mean…?”

“Ya nerd. Wanna try again with me?” This time, a sincere smile graced Kacchan’s face as he leaned into the green haired man and connected their lips. It was soft and light. If Izuku hadn’t had his eyes open he’s sure he would have missed it. It felt so different from the forcefulness of Shindo’s kisses. Like Shindo was only taking and never giving love, while Kacchan was giving and looking to have it returned. On instinct, Izuku surged forward into the kiss and gave it everything he wished he could say.
Both men clung to each other though the kiss until they needed to separate for air. Kacchan was the first to speak. “I’m sorry you lost your pup ‘Zuku. I know you really want one.” His eyes sparkled with unshed tears. “What can I do?”

Words danced on Izuku’s tongue as emotions swirled through his brain. He already was being helped. He had an Alpha who cared, wanted to make sure he was happy and safe. One who provided even when he felt he was crossing a boundary. What else could Kacchan do? “Nothing.” A smile filled Izuku’s face as he slung to the Alpha. “You already did it Kacchan. Kacchan is so amazing you took care of me without knowing why. You made me food because you were scared for my health. You beat up my ex because he broke my heart. And you came back. Back to me and didn’t leave when I would have understood if you did. You already did everything for me Kacchan.” His smile glowed as he kissed the blonde’s cheek and purred a happy, content sound into the man.

Both men stayed connected for a few more moments before Kacchan picked Izuku up and started moving them towards the broken bathroom door. At first Izuku was confused until he sat down upon his own counter, still wrapped in his blanket and Kacchan started the water for a bath. Filling the tub full of all the bubbles and scents Izuku enjoyed when he needed to decompress, Kacchan got the tub ready for the weakened Omega. He hummed the All Might theme song as he worked, not taking an eye off the smaller man he had just confessed to. Izuku felt warmer, lighter than he had before. He was loved and he was going to be taken care of. The day that began so awful ended so beautifully. Kacchan was Izuku’s and Izuku was Kacchan’s.
