Chapter Text
It was another normal day at Seigaku.
Fuji Syūsuke and the other regulars finished warming up and were getting ready to train for their future matches against Yamabuki.
They had all just completed their laps - everyone aiming not to be last for fear of drinking Inui’s latest concoction - and were now being paired up for practice matches.
Fuji was playing Ryoma this round. Their practice went on for so long that it began raining in the middle and they had to cut it short, such that neither of them knew which was the stronger player.
In the end, they conceded to returning to the game at a later time, weather conditions permitting.
As they made their way off the court, everyone laughed at their state as was common camaraderie between their team.
“What were you both thinking?” Oishi scolded.
“I’ll tell you. Neither of these 2 - especially this one - will lose,” Momo smirked.
“Hmph playing out in this weather,” Kaidoh chided.
“To be fair, you’ve practiced in worse,” Inui pointed out.
“Fujiko-chan is an alpha but Ochibi you’re a beta. It won’t be so easy,” Eiji snickered.
“Eiji!” Oishi nagged.
“Meh,” Eiji shrugged.
“Speaking of, you stink,” Eiji giggled, waving his hand back and forth in front of him.
Momoshiro upsided Eiji at the top of his head.
“Statistically, alpha’s exude 65% more pheromones than the rest of us” Inui calculated, adjusting his glasses.
Fuji smelled his shirt.
“I’ll take the showers,” he waved goodbye.
In truth… Fuji was anything but an alpha.
He used various suppressants and neutralizing deodorizers every day.
He was glad when they all thought he was an alpha on a team full of betas and alphas.
The only other omega on the team was Eiji, and even then, he was a recessive omega.
Oishi had already marked Eiji, despite not being an alpha, and thanks to his recessive gene, Eiji responded well to Oishi and had his heat under control.
Everyone else was either a beta or an alpha. Inui, Tezuka and Kawamura were all alphas. Oishi, Kaidoh and Echizen were betas. That left Fuji… the only unmarked dominant omega on the team.
As if it could be any bit more nightmarish than that.
So he resolved to a daily routine of neutralizing sprays and pills, loads of deodorant, and skipping whenever he felt even the slightest bit unsure that his heat might be coming.
And now… he messed up.
He knew he had the moment he stepped out on the court.
Thankfully it was still not a full blown heat yet and he was able to make an excuse of trying to go shower.
Thankfully the showers were completely empty.
Fuji felt like doing anything but showering.
If he showered, he knew his pheromones would be full blown encasing the locker room in his scent.
So instead, he resolved to sit on the benches in the room, towel on his head, trying to calm himself.
Of course, that worked perfectly… not.
Who to enter the locker room but the great actual alpha, Tezuka.
