"Jiwoo-ah," Chaeyeon cooed, brushing the loose locks of Jiwoo's hair, "it's getting late. You should get going soon."
She received a hum from the woman beside her, lifting her gaze to meet Chaeyeon's before burying her face on the latter's chest again. Jiwoo was hanging out in Chaeyeon's dorm after recording their Signal for the day. It was just the two of them in the dorm; Yeonji went back to her hometown for their inactive period and wouldn't be back until the following week.
"Don't want to." She muttered, tightening her grip on the woman's waist. Chaeyeon sighed, her features softening as she continued to run her fingers through Jiwoo's hair. She sounded so exhausted, and she couldn't really blame her when her solo schedules were so tight, with day-offs few and far in between.
But still, being the older one, Chaeyeon felt like she had to be the responsible one and remind Jiwoo to tell her parents that she was staying over.
Chaeyeon chuckled at a memory that popped in her head.
She could never forget the day Jiwoo's parents kept ringing the younger woman's number over and over again in the middle of the night because she forgot to tell them she was staying over at the dorms. It happened during a particularly heated 'catching up' session (which involved more touching and less talking), and Chaeyeon remembered holding back her laughter as she watched an incredibly annoyed Jiwoo bicker with her parents for a while before being made to promise to not do it again.
"Did you at least tell your parents that you're not coming home yet?"
"I'll tell them later." Jiwoo mumbled.
"Yeah, I don't think so," Chaeyeon wiggled her way out of Jiwoo's grasp, giggling at the uncharacteristic whine that left Jiwoo's lips, "I'm not lying back down until you've sent them a text at least."
Jiwoo's eyes fluttered open, a pout on her lips. Chaeyeon met her pout with a frown, crossing her arms to tell Jiwoo that she was serious.
"Fine," Jiwoo grumbled, reaching for her phone on the bedside table as she lazily typed out a short message to her mom. She showed the message to Chaeyeon, who didn't know if she should praise Jiwoo for not being so stubborn this time around or giggle at how absurdly short Jiwoo's message was.
It read;
[w/ chae, home by tmr, ily]
What sold it for Chaeyeon was Jiwoo's mom's reply suddenly appearing on the screen:
[okay take care]
[dont bother chaeyeon too much and dont do anything stupid]
"Tell your mom I'll make sure you won't do anything stupid." Chaeyeon said, laughing at the way Jiwoo's eyes comically widened, taking back her phone and groaning when she saw her mom's reply. After typing out something, she turned off her screen, placing her phone back on the bedside table.
"I swear she always acts like I'm five." Jiwoo sighed. Chaeyeon's brow rose in amusement, giggling. She laid down beside Jiwoo, wrapping her arms around her waist. Jiwoo's scent immediately enveloped her senses, and Chaeyeon couldn't help but bury her nose at the crook of her neck.
"Quite off topic but I'd like to meet the five year old you." Chaeyeon muttered against Jiwoo's skin, already imagining a smaller, younger version of Jiwoo running around the house with the biggest, brightest, and cheekiest smile on her face.
Jiwoo chuckled. "Trust me, you wouldn't want to. Mom kept videos from my childhood, and from what I've seen? I'd never want to meet my five year old self."
"Oh come on, you couldn't be that bad." Chaeyeon adjusted her position, staring up Jiwoo. She cupped the side of Jiwoo's face, thumbs drawing random circles along her jawline, "I think it'll be cute to have a tiny Jiwoo running around."
Jiwoo glanced at her, an amused smile on her face, "A mini me, huh? Well, I think a mini-Chaeyeon would be cuter."
"Nu-uh, a mini Jiwoo is definitely cuter. Just imagine how cute you would be running around wearing pajamas with tiny bear prints," Chaeyeon pushed herself up as she propped her arm up and resting her head on her fist, adamantly shaking her head, "gosh, I'd volunteer to take care of you forever."
"Unless you also wanted to deal with scribbled walls and smashed glassware," Jiwoo laughed, reaching to tuck the stray strands of hair that was blocking Chaeyeon's face behind her ear.
"Well, how can you prove that I'd be cuter?"
Jiwoo hummed. "You're still cute now. I think that's proof enough."
Chaeyeon was at a lost for words, flustered by the sudden compliment and also annoyed at the way Jiwoo was grinning like she had just won the argument (Jiwoo did, Chaeyeon was just stubborn enough to not admit it). She wanted to wipe that smirk off her face so bad.
With a huff, Chaeyeon leaned down, her eyes meeting with Jiwoo's surprised ones before they trailed down to her lips. She heard Jiwoo's breath hitch before their lips met in the middle, the younger woman's arms wrapping around her neck.
Their kiss was slow, the two of them taking their time to remember the feeling of each other's lips. Chaeyeon had realized it has been too long since they shared this kind of intimate moment together, their schedules keeping them from initiating any sort of contact other than the occasional back hugs and holding hands. She took the time to memorize every detail of Jiwoo's lips against her own - the smell of blueberries from the scented lip balm Jiwoo always used, the slight taste of strawberry latte that they had before hanging out in her room, the soft feeling of Jiwoo's lips that she could never get enough of.
She wouldn't trade anything in the world for this.
Chaeyeon nibbled on Jiwoo's lower lip, earning her a shaky breath from the latter. Jiwoo's lips slightly parted and Chaeyeon took that as an opportunity to deepen the kiss, Jiwoo reciprocating by tilting her head to the side and playing with Chaeyeon's hair.
Jiwoo, Jiwoo, Jiwoo.
The younger woman was slowly infiltrating Chaeyeon's mind, her thoughts filled with nothing but pure longing and adoration for her. Gosh, she really really missed having Jiwoo this close.
After what seemed like an eternity that would never end, Chaeyeon pulled away, gasping for air. She had somehow ended up straddling on Jiwoo's waist during their impromptu make out session, the younger girl's chest heaving heavily underneath her. Jiwoo has a bright blush spread across her face, and Chaeyeon was sure she was mirroring her too, if the abnormal heat on her cheeks was any indication.
Chaeyeon smiled and Jiwoo returned it with the most genuine and affectionate smile Chaeyeon saw her wear. She flopped back to the bed, placing her arm and leg over Jiwoo's body. The adrenaline rush had left her body, replaced by a feeling that had Chaeyeon feeling tired yet happy.
"So, does this mean I won the argument?" Jiwoo blurted out after catching her breath.
Chaeyeon rolled her eyes. Seriously, they just made out after so long and that was her first thought? She really is worse than Seoyeon whenever she was feeling incredibly competitive, "Only this time. I still think a mini you would be cuter."
Jiwoo laughed, slightly turning to Chaeyeon and hugging her back. "A younger me or a younger you, it wouldn't matter as long as we're raising them together."
Chaeyeon felt her cheeks heating up again. The image of her and Jiwoo living in a two-storey house somewhere in the rural areas, taking care of a child that was a mix of the two of them together made her feel all shy and flustered, which really was weird because she didn't feel this way while they were intensely kissing each other earlier.
So what she did to save herself from the teasing was bury her face on the crook of Jiwoo's neck, unable to wipe off the giddy smile on her face as she continued to imagine their family together.
"That'd be nice." was all Chaeyeon could comment as Jiwoo played with her hair, humming contentedly in response.
No conversation came after that, it was just the two of them enjoying each other's company, with Chaeyeon slowly drifting off to sleep while dreaming about the little family she imagined they would have in the future.
