Work Text:
Reigen woke up to the golden rays of the morning sun filtering through the curtains and Serizawa shifting in his sleep.
He was faced away from his boyfriend, who hugged him tightly from behind, their legs and arms tangled in one another's. Reigen smiled at Serizawa, who, in his sleep, had managed to intertwine their fingers together. He pulled their hands up to his lips, kissing Serizawa's before allowing them to drop.
Moving carefully, he sat up in bed to read the alarm clock that was set up beside him, reading the 09:13 AM that blinked on it. It was a Saturday morning, meaning the consultation office was closed today, yet Reigen woke up around the time it would've opened. He didn't even have any plans for the day. He yawned, but he knew he wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. Oh, well.
A shift beside him reminded him Serizawa was still asleep, though. You would think this meant Reigen would have to be quiet and careful not to wake him. You'd think wrong. Serizawa was the heaviest sleeper Reigen knew. Near the beginning of their relationship, when they started staying over at each other's apartment, Reigen had noticed it. Although apparently, that hadn't always been the case.
"You sleep like a rock, huh?" Reigen had decided to comment one morning as they got ready for work.
"I- ah, no, not at all," Serizawa shook his head. "I'm actually an extremely light sleeper. Anything tends to wake me up at night. Usually."
"You fell asleep mid-horror movie last night, I screamed several times. I thought you were a rock at that point!"
Serizawa paused in thought before looking back at Reigen with a smile. "I think that might just be because of you, then."
That idea seemed to have been proven when they moved in together, and Serizawa admitted he started sleeping better. Serizawa was a heavier sleeper now, apparently, thanks to Reigen.
Still, Reigen was slow and careful as he pulled Serizawa's arm off him, smiling when Serizawa tried to reach out for him again without waking up. He leaned down to Serizawa and planted a small kiss on his cheek before taking his arm off, laughing quietly at Serizawa's smile with his eyes still closed, finally allowing Reigen to get out of bed.
Reigen changed out of his pajamas and cleaned himself up before shuffling to the kitchen. On lazy mornings such as this one, Reigen was more than happy to make breakfast for the two of them. Looking into their refrigerator, he hummed in thought for what he could possibly make for the two of them; a quick, small, but filling breakfast, neither big fans of large breakfasts.
Deciding on a simple grilled rice ball breakfast, Reigen grabbed the ingredients and moved quickly to begin making breakfast. He's made this breakfast plenty of times before, so it wasn't long before Reigen was already fixing the rolled omelet on a dish beside the grilled sausage while the rice balls were grilling, Serizawa still in their room asleep.
Reigen smiled at the thought of his boyfriend as he moved to begin preparing the miso soup, when suddenly someone came up behind him, placing their entire weight on his back. He didn't even have to turn as he rolled his eyes light-heartedly. "G'morning, Seri, sleep well?"
"Mmm, I guess," He mumbled from his spot on Reigen's shoulder. "What're you making?"
"Breakfast, dear." Serizawa only hummed, lazily wrapping his arms around Reigen's waist. "Are you still tired?"
"Only a bit," Serizawa answered honestly. "Are you almost finished?"
"The omelet is ready and the rice balls are just about done. I was about to make the soup, but I can't really move with you on me like this."
"Let's just have that."
"Just the rice and egg?" Serizawa nodded, to which Reigen smiled fondly at. He could never ignore Serizawa for long before he himself gave into whatever he said. Reigen quickly took the rice balls off the grill and placed it on the dish he had prepared before moving slowly to the kitchen table, both because of the food, but mainly because Serizawa remained stuck to him.
"Seri, how am I supposed to sit on the chair?" Serizawa made a move as if to finally let go, before humming, tightening his hold on Reigen.
"Let's sit on the couch." Serizawa suggested. Reigen chuckled softly, but still moved to the living room, placing the plate on the coffee table in front of the couch, dropping to the floor slowly. Once he had settled, Serizawa finally let go and moved to sit on the floor right next to Reigen, still not giving him a lot of space- his left leg practically over Reigen's, and his left arm intertwined with Reigen's right.
As Reigen watched Serizawa get comfortable himself, he reached for the remote and turned it on, simply for some background noise as the two of them dug in for breakfast, enjoying the food and each other's company.
