Work Text:

When Loki came to earth, Nick Fury didn’t expect an intergalactic person from a different planet to join the Avengers team. No one did. What surprised everyone even more was that you seemed to form a friendship with Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America.

The two of you formed a rather strong bond… one that slowly became romantic. Neither of you had admitted your feelings, however, until the final battle with Loki.

You and the Avengers all stared up, watching Tony Stark falling from the sky just as the wormhole closed. None of you knew what to do.

“He’s not slowing down,” said Thor, beginning to twirl his hammer in his hand. “We have to stop him.”

“Throw your hammer!” exclaimed Steve.

“He can’t! That might hurt him!” shouted Natasha, causing Thor to stop twirling the hammer in his hand.

You, having the ability to create a force-field, looked over at Hulk before glancing back at Tony. An idea quickly formulated in your mind.

“You need to throw me,” you said, hitting Hulk on the arm to gain his attention.

“What?” asked Steve, hoping he had heard you wrong.

“Hulk, throw me!” you shouted.

“What? No, Hulk!” shouted Steve, though he was ignored.

Hulk followed your directions, throwing you directly at Tony. Once in the air, you wrapped one arm around him and using the other to form a force-field around the two of you. You closed your eyes tightly, feeling the force-field crash into the ground.

You stood up, only to almost be tackled in a hug from Steve. You wrapped your arms him as best as you could, due to him hugging you from your side. He pressed his face into your hair. You glanced down at Tony, only for Steve to turn your face to his own as he made sure you hadn’t been hurt.

“I thought you were hurt,” he said, pulling you into a hug once more.

“Steve, I have to ask you something,” you muttered. “Will make sure that I never let Hulk do that again?”

He pulled away once more, placing his hands on your cheeks as he looked at you. He pressed his forehead to your own. He then laughed at you.

“Sure,” he nodded, “but you know Hulk could’ve caught Tony himself.”

You smiled at him before pressing your lips against his. He smiled into the kiss, pulling away with a laugh.

“Now you tell me,” you laughed.
