"Sakura. Come here for a moment." Sasuke called for her.
The room was dark, only light coming from the little candles on the bedside.
"Hm?" A soft hum left her lips. Curious, she walked over from the bed to where her Uchiha was positioned.
He turned to her, smiling softly. Something he rarely ever did.
But with her, it was easy. Though he'd never admit it.
She tilted her head up to look into his eyes. "What is it, Sasuke?" She caressed his face gently, brushing a strand of hair from his forehead.
How he loved her touch.
"You know you mean more to me than just a mere teammate, right?" Sakura was taken back by his small confession. He was never much for words with so many feelings.
She was mostly the lovey type. But not Sasuke. Hardly ever.
The most he'd ever done was tap her forehead gently with his two fingers and say 'next time' or 'see you later.'
Just like his older brother had done to him a million times over.
It was his clans’ way of showing love without having to say it. Now though, it was different.
A faint blush appeared on her face. "Yes. Of course, Sasuke." She looked up smiling softly.
"Sakura." He paused, looking into her verdant colored eyes.
How he adored them.
“You're my best friend. And I love you for it. I.." He hesitated. "I love you." He held her gaze, never looking away.
Searching her expression for an answer.
"Sasuke-” She stammered.
Looking down again to the floor.
Why does he get me so flustered even after all this time?
Sakura cursed silently. "I love you too.." she whispered.
Sasuke instantly felt relief.
"I've always loved you. Nothing has changed my feelings for you.. and nothing ever will." she smiled softly, thinking to herself before turning her gaze back to him.
"..It's about time. You idiot."
