“He loves you, Severus,” Hermione said.
“That is a blatant lie. If he did, he would not shed his hair all over the house and my person, nor would he scratch me with his claws every time he feels like jumping me.”
Crookshanks watched them from across their bed’s end.
“You don’t mind when I do these things. Yesterday, you appeared quite … pleased…”
“It’s different,” Severus protested, sensing his cheeks growing warm.
“Not at all. We like to mark what is ours,” and she claimed him as hers, sucking on the skin beneath his ear where he liked it most.
