Work Text:

Logan had always had some.. animalistic tendencies. It got him into trouble when he was young. Its only real uses were in battle, so he tried to shut that side of himself off in daily life.

Of course, with Wade, nothing was ever that easy.

It started off with small things. During their usual back and forths Logan would catch himself growling- animal growling.

It happened as a kid, when he would wrestle with his friends. He had quickly learned it caused him trouble. Wade didn’t seem to mind, though.

Three weeks after Logan’s arrival, Wade got him to suit up to spar in an abandoned warehouse in a run down part of the city.

It had been Wolverine's claws and Deadpool’s katanas, the scrape of adamantium on steel.

With their healing factors, the two could and would fight hard. Wolverine kneeled, and lunged for Deadpool, tackling him to the ground and spearing the man's wrists above his head with his claws.

A growl emanated from his chest. This… Deadpool was the best sparring partner he'd ever had. There was no risk of permanently injuring the other man, in fact, he probably wouldn’t have been able to kill him if he had wanted to.

It was also getting a little hard to think, as he sat on top of Deadpool, lowering his chest closer go the man's masked face. He continued to growl, but it felt different from before. Before it had been more playful, but this.. he was.. kind of turned on?

“Well this is getting steamy”, Deadpool jibbed, as he used his legs to sweep Wolverine off of him. “At least buy me dinner first”.

Wolverine snarled, and attacked Deadpool on all fours. The two continued on like that until dawn, when they returned home, thoroughly exhausted.

Logan didn’t move in with Wade with the intention of dating the man.

It had simply seemed like the best option at the time, and in all honesty Logan didn’t mind having company.

It was a two bedroom apartment, and Blind Al obviously kept her room. The two had ended up sharing Wade's king sized bed, and flirt he may be, Logan hadn’t actually thought Wade had any ulterior motives with offering to do so.

He was starting to think he may have been wrong.

It was Sunday, so the two had planned to go to sleep after their sparring session. Logan had just crawled into bed, and was ready to pass out.

“Hey Woolvsey”, Wade asked quietly. Oh great. No sleep after all. “Whats up with the growling?”

“It’s part of my mutation. Comes out during combat”, he replied.

“No shit”, Wade said, “I mean why’d it sound like that while you gave me “fuck me” eyes in the warehouse?”

Oh. So it has been noticeable.

“Dunno what you're talkin' about”, Logan retorted. He knew was probably futile. He did it anyways.

“You did it in the Honda Odyssey-“

“Oh, for fucks sake!” Logan rolled towards Wade- he did not want to have this conversation at 6 AM on a Sunday!

He and Wade were now inches from each others faces.

“I want to kiss you right now”, Wade said a little breathlessly. This wasn’t right. He sounded too serious.

“What?”

“Can I kiss you, pookie?” Came Wade's high pitched reply. There it was.

Logan didn’t know why. He shouldn’t have been entertaining this. But he said, “Go ahead”.

And kiss they did.

It was warm and sloppy, Wade's scarred lips pressing pleasantly up against Logan's stubble. He deepened the kiss, and Wade moaned, a bit exaggerated, because of course it was.

Logan felt a growl building in his chest. He didn’t try to stop it, like he had with ex-wife. In fact, Wade seemed to be enjoying it.

Logan smiled into the kiss. He didn’t need to hide from Wade.
