Chapter Text
Satoru had loved him. Suguru had loved him, but not as much.
Satoru had stayed for him. Suguru could not stay for him.
Suguru had been enough. Satoru would never be.
When had it all ended? Satoru wondered. When had Suguru gotten lost in the darkness that had threatened to take Satoru too?
Suguru had guided him back from it, had been the lifeline that he had followed back into the light. So why had Satoru been unable to do the same? Why hadn’t he been able to bring Suguru back the same way he had brought Satoru back so long ago?
Satoru had wanted to follow him into the darkness the day he left. But he didn’t. Suguru had brought him back into the light, and in the light he would stay. Suguru, whether the one he had once loved or the one he was now, had not wanted him to get lost, and so he would stay found.
Some part of Satoru wondered whether Suguru had gotten lost helping him find his way.
I was nothing, he was everything. There was nothing more painful than finding out that you were nothing to your everything.
