Work Text:
Bopping his head side to side, Andy hummed along to the music playing throughout the apartment. He was enjoying the peace and quiet of the November evening. He was also enjoying the opportunity to cook. His plan was to make some quick and easy dinner so when everyone got back, they wouldn't have to get food themselves. Damien was still at work so he wouldn't be home for a while and Alex had gone out for a run so he didn't know when she'd be back. At least food would be waiting for them when they arrived.
As if by chance the elevator dinged, indicating someone had arrived. Poking his head out of the kitchen, Andy saw a drenched Alex walking in, looking quite annoyed.
"What happened to you? I thought you were going for a run?" the green eyed teen questioned. Alex let out an annoyed sigh and flopped onto the couch.
"Well I was going for a run until a car sped right past me and soaked me thoroughly. The stupid car didn't even try to slow down," she growled, turning on the tv.
"Well go change into some fresh clothes then I'm just about to serve up some food. I'm sure you'll get out of your grump," Andy stated, heading back into the kitchen while he heard Alex mumble something under her breath.
Eventually, Andy served up the warm and delicious smelling food onto three separate plates.
His stomach was begging for some good food. Picking up his and his sister's plate, the green eyed teen made his way into the living room. His eyes landed on the other teen who had not moved an inch from when he was last in the room.
Letting out a sigh, Andy placed the plates on a side table and stood next to his sister, hands on his hips. The blue eyed teen tore her eyes away from the tv and glanced up at Andy.
"What?"
"You need to go change out of those clothes. You're going to get a cold," Andy chastised.
Alex rolled her eyes. "I'm fine. I'm not going to get sick."
A loud sneeze from the teen suggested otherwise. All Andy could do was sigh and shake his head.
"Alex. Please go change," Andy instructed.
"Nah. I'm fine how I am now," Alex replied, giving Andy the stink eye.
Seeing no other choice, Andy let himself transform and picked up his sister, holding her arms to her sides so she couldn't get out of his grip.
"Let me go," Alex whined, flailing about while Andy ignored her and headed upstairs.
Quickly placing her in the bathroom, Andy threw some fresh clothes in before sitting in front of the door, leaning against it. He could feel Alex banging on the door behind him but due to his chimera size, he knew she couldn't push the door open without transforming herself and potentially breaking it.
"Come on De. Let me out," Alex whined.
"Not until you change. This is for your own health Lex," Andy retorted, not budging from his position. The banging on the door eventually ceased which hopefully meant Alex had listen to Andy's words.
After several minutes of muffled shuffling, a knock came from the other side of the door. Standing up, the door opened to reveal a freshly dried Alex who still had an annoyed expression on her face.
Transforming back, Andy smiled warmly as he directed his sibling back downstairs and onto the couch. As Alex sat down, Andy grabbed a fluffy blanket and wrapped it around his sister's shoulders.
"I don't need you babying me Andy," Alex stated, wrapping the blanket around herself.
"I'm not babying you. I'm just caring for my sister," Andy calmly replied, grabbing the plates of food he'd previously set aside.
Walking over to the couch, Andy sat down and handed one plate over before tucking into his own food. Without saying another word, Alex began to slowly eat her own food. While she didn't say it out loud, Andy knew she was grateful for the help. His sister was a prideful individual, not wanting to show weakness in fear of it being used against her. But Andy always knew she'd let him in as their trust was something that went deep and could never be broken.
