Work Text:

He felt the sweat falling down his skin, that enormous creature in front of him. "Creature" was the most accurate word to describe what was hovering in the middle of that airport. He felt, his power was on a whole another level. One that he would take ages to meet. Tanizaki, at his side, trembled, about to use his ability at any given moment. But he wasn't even given the gift of time. Sooner than expected, a cold blade pierced through his chest.

Drop, drop, drop

Fell steadily onto the ground, red. Atsushi ran up to him, trying to help with no effect. It was already too late.

"Even if I die, my ideals will live on"

Those were his last words, as he closed his eyes and accepted his fate. Then, suddenly, felt how something punched through him and heard someone screaming.

"Stop with that, old man! You're not dying here!"

"Crazy Diamond!"

His eyes opened again, just to find the sword broken in half and his chest completely healed. In front of him, between the creature and himself, saw a young high schooler with a strange hairdo. To his side, he could notice the manifestation of his ability - the very same that had punched through him.

"Just who are you?" He asked, puzzled.

"We noticed we just happened to come by to catch a plane back to our town, but we came a little late to catch it"

"But at the right time, I would say." Two other people emerged from behind. The one who spoke then directed his attention to Kunikida.

"Who's the one behind this? Because this entity doesn't seem to have a conscious mind" He, of course, pointed at Fyodor, who was looking at the scene with a cocky smile. The one who spoke put his hand on his hip and slicked back his green hair before running towards Fyodor, manifesting his ability as well. The latter jumped back, sword in his hand. Fyodor clicked his tongue.

"Not so fast."

Fyodor opened his eyes wide when suddenly the space between him and the mysterious attack disappeared. The other person, a second schoolboy, used his ability, and with a single swing of his palm Fyodor was now in reach and couldn't escape.

"Heaven's Door!"

Kunikida couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Fyodor completely paralyzed, his face open like a book. More like a book, it looked like an entire encyclopedia. The guy with green hair turned up to the schoolboy with strange hairdo.

"Josuke, we have to be careful with this guy. I don't know why he contains so much information but here marked is his stand. We can't kill him, by any means. Otherwise..." Fyodor started twitching, the book closing by itself.

"Heaven's Door can't keep it open for much longer! The amount of information is too much!"

Meanwhile, the boy named Josuke punched the creature, and a small girl started to appear and take form from drops of water. He wouldn't make it in time.

Then, the second schoolboy stepped up.

"Y'know... I'm not very clever, but we can try this. Za Hando!"

The boy swung the manifestation of his ability again, and with the simple swift of his palm, he was gone. Fyodor was gone, erased. Like he never was there in the first place.

Kunikida panicked. "Didn't you just hear him? He can't be killed! Otherwise, you will turn into him!"

The boy looked back at him. To Kunikida, there wasn't a single thought in his head. He...just did it. But Fyodor didn't come back. Josuke laughed. "Hey old man, just you now...Okuyasu's Stand can't really kill."

"What do you mean? I've just seen how you erased that guy out of nowhere."

The boy, apparently named Okuyasu, approached Kunikida. "The Hand sends things to another dimension, I think. I've never seen what it's like, actually. But one thing is certain...what I erase it doesn't come back. It happened with Josuke's favorite videogame, I felt so bad..."

Okuyasu started to cry and snorted as Josuke patted on his shoulder.

"Hey, it was an accident and we bought it again, so what's the problem?"

After reassuring his friend, he went and healed Ranpo's injuries as well. "And well, my Stand doesn't really heal, what it does is that it turns back things to its original state."

Then a tall figure emerged from behind him. His form was barely standing and holding his hand was Aya, still clutching her backpack. Aya tapped Josuke's shoulder. "If that's true, then could you do something about him?" Josuke nodded. "I'll try my best". He then yelled:

Crazy Diamond!

and punched Bram in the chest, his form dividing into two, restoring to their original beings. On one side, Akutagawa, on the other, Bram. Aya cried, and Bram held her close. "Please don't scare me like that ever again" Bram sighed "I will try, my princess".

"Is there anything else that might need some fixing?" Ranpo pointed then at the creature. "Your ability might be perfect for the job. The problem with that creature is that it is an amalgamation of three things that should have never come together"

Without Fyodor around, the creature didn't move a finger the entire time, hovering in the middle of the airport. Sooner said than done, the creature divided into their respective entities. It was no longer a threat.

Kunikida looked at Josuke and his two friends. "I-I can't think of a way to thank you."

"You don't need to thank us, old man. Just keep on with your life, okay?" He said with a smile, and with that, he and his friends disappeared from where they came.

Fukuzawa looked at Kunikida, also puzzled.

"What did just happened? Why did those people appear out of nowhere? And then, just gone"

Kunikida looked back at him, scratching his head.

"To be fair, I didn't understand at all what happened at this airport in general. I've never been a religious man, but this, looks like a miracle to me"

Suddenly, something buzzed on Kunikida's phone. He opened it, and saw a message from Dazai. Or better said, a photo. He was sitting on an airplane, making the peace sign at the camera. Chuuya was sitting next to him, making a pouty face. Dazai, with his other hand, was making bunny ears with his fingers behind Chuuya's head. Next to them were another two people, someone with split purple and white hair that he didn't recognize and...the terrorist who he saw cut himself in half?! Also making a peace sign and winking his only visible eye. Attached to the photo he could read:

"Can't wait to get on your nerves when we arrive to Yokohama (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)"

Kunikida closed the phone and held his face in his palm, trembling. He had actually missed the asshole all those months. He, obviously would never admit it. Maybe he just missed the old days at the ADA. Ranpo then trotted and joined them, smiling widely.

"Maybe it was a miracle, as you said. Or maybe someone took a hold of the book and changed some things. Perhaps someone wanted us to keep on living."
