Chapter Text
The morbid grey-colored skies swayed up high as a familiar ginger-haired male strayed near the shore. His thoughts had been occupied with severe loss that needed some tranquility once in a while. The waves slowly crept under his feet as he swayed his hands beneath the sands, and a strange comfort formed in his heart.
‘Weird, how a strange human like me, can feel warmth in the vast sea.’ He laughed bitterly and placed his hat beside him. Suddenly a strong gust of wind went in his way, making him feel goosebumps all over his fragile skin. He was mesmerized by how the ocean was peaceful, how it could accept someone like him—a ruthless Mafioso sitting near the sea with his thoughts slowly eating him alive.
As his mind was running on its own, the waves suddenly clashed to a different rhythm—it seemed like a huge splash that no ordinary fish could do. A new strange of human life that lives below the sea? Or perhaps, mythical creatures that roam in the deepest parts of the sea.
He was in denial; his vision must be playing foolish tricks. The lack of rest he did not exceed when he finally had a major disadvantage when doing his duties as an executive. His loyalty towards the Port Mafia exhausts him, being used as a weapon could only break his willpower and consciousness. Will he ever find peace in this cruel world that he holds onto?
“You seemed to be lost in your thoughts?” A voice was heard across the sea which made the ginger-haired male widen his eyes out of surprise. He then got up from his spot and searched for the voice—it was peaceful; a soft alluring tone was too divine.
“Who are you?” He asked as he searched for any clues where the voice came from. There was no answer, only the idle waves clashing with each other.
The ginger-haired male then spotted a huge rock near the palm trees, he then hurriedly ran towards the rocky architecture that had been wrapped in moss and seaweeds. His adrenaline is slowly increasing, and numerous what-ifs have been occupied in his mind.
He finally heard the numerous splashes of water that echoed in his ears, a strange melody that entranced him—it was too hypnotic to endure and rather calming in this situation. He was left stunned; all he could hear was his heartbeat beating loudly. His eyes darted toward the unfamiliar merman sitting on top of the rock.
And there he is, the source of the voice.
He was unusual, his features were alluring. How his gaze remains fixed on the mortal who has been observing him for some time. Despite being dangerous due to his attractiveness, he was stunning to see in this world.
His scales cover half of his lower body, they seemed delicate yet could easily scratch a fragile skin in their waking path.
His skin is porcelain, with a tint of blue that mostly stands out in his charm, and his ears were a set of fins on each side of the head. Lastly, his dark brown silky hair that reaches past his shoulders.
“A mere mortal who decides to roam around a deserted area is a foolish idea.” The merman laughed, which echoed straightly towards the ginger-haired male who was left stunned in his tracks. It was melodic, a weird way to soothe people’s anxiety even though a literal mermaid was in front of him that could easily kill out of his mercy.
“Osamu Dazai, a pleasure to meet you.” He introduced himself with a sly smile placed on his face, which only angered the ginger-haired male further.
“Are you perhaps too stunned by my beauty?” Dazai smiled, that same smile that made the mortal only clench his fist out of frustration, the merman then realized that the boy in front of him was still in his spell which made him laugh out loud, he didn’t feel any remorse at his doings, yet it was only filled with pure entertainment.
Dazai then clapped his hands to undo his spell, he wanted to know the mortal's name first before drowning him in the depths of the sea.
“Nakahara Chuuya.” The mortal finally shouted his name out loud, his whole senses coming back at him as he stared at the merman who proclaimed to be Dazai.
“A suiting name for an autumn-colored hair like you.” Dazai smiled, his fangs bearing in his teeth as he jumped towards the sea.
