“Sakura, please don’t go. I really don’t want to miss you like this.”
Sasuke wasn’t used to all these feelings.
He and Sakura had just gotten together - he was finally able to come out right and tell her how he felt for her all these years.
Even when he was out seeking his own revenge for his family and brother, she was the only thing in his mind.
She was the only one who could pull him out from even the darkest days.
And now she was leaving?
Sure it was only for a few days, but would he really be okay alone?
“Sasuke don’t worry. I’ll only be gone for a bit, 6 days tops. And if it’s 7, I won’t leave you ever again nor will I agree to another mission from Kakashi!”
She said in between a laugh and stole a kiss from her lover.
It was only a jest, and if he wasn’t so smitten with her, he would have actually taken it seriously.
“At least let me walk you to the gate.”
The two walked, hand in hand and he held her close; worry and overthought soon settled into his mind.
As if she could read his thoughts, she stopped walking and took both his hands in hers.
”Hey Sasuke look at me. I’m going to come back safely okay? And once I’ve returned, I won’t ever be out of your sight again. I know this is hard on you, it’s just as hurtful on me too. I’ll miss you so much, but I promise it’s only a few days.”
She pulled him into a tight embrace and he instantly melted from her touch. Only she was capable of calming him down like this.
He pulled away and looked into her eyes, “You’re a strong woman. I know you’ll be okay. I’m just - not used to feeling all these emotions. I’ve never felt this way for anyone. Not anyone until you, Sakura. This really is falling in love in the cruelest way..”
He kissed her gently, and as if time couldn’t slip away any faster, it was time for her to depart.
Goodbyes were never supposed to be this hard.
If only he’d known what he knew now, he wouldn’t have told her how he felt.
All he wanted in this moment was for her to turn around and be in his embrace again.
He never meant to get this attached in only two days and a selfish part of him so desperately wished she took him with her. The feeling was sinking in now and it was quickly becoming too real.
He didn’t want to need her like this.
“Sakura please, come back.. Be here.”
