Chapter Text
Marinette sighed as she scrolled through her messages. Alya said she had something to tell her tomorrow at school.
‘I wonder what it could be...’
Her mother opened the trapdoor that led up to her room. "Marinette, it's time for dinner."
"All right, Mom. I'll be right down."
After her mother left, she put her phone away and went downstairs to get ready for dinner. She couldn't wait to hear what Alya had to tell her.
The next day at school, Marinette tried talking to Adrien. And as usual she messed up.
"A-Adrien! Nice you see-I-I mean nice to you-er nice to see you!"
"It's nice to see you too, Marinette." He smiled at her and headed up the stairs and into the school.
Alya jumped out of the bushes. "Girl, you really need to stop stuttering in front of him."
"Wah!" She spun around. "Alya, you scared me!"
"Sorry..."
She sighed. "I try to stop stuttering in front of him, but it doesn't work. He's just so...I don't know, amazing!"
Alya suddenly remembered something. "Hey, Mari!"
Marinette looked over at her best friend. She noticed Alya had a mischievous look in her eyes. "Yeah?"
She grinned. "I dare you to ask Adrien out!"
"WHAT?! I can't even form a whole sentence or keep up a conversation with him, and you want me to ask him out? How am I supposed to do that?!"
Alya smirked. "You'll think of something."
She thought for a minute. "Fine, I'll do it!" They shook on it.
How bad can it be?
"Great!" Alya smiled at her. "You have 48 hours to gather up the courage to ask him out. Once you do, come tell me. Okay?"
"O-Okay."
Great! See you later!" She walked off.
‘What have I gotten myself into?’
