Chapter Text
Chuuya's perspective
"Chuuya Nakahara, 'king' of the Sheep," a sly, teasing voice says. "Who are you..?" I roughly whisper in a chalky tone. The voice chuckles, "Me? If you must know, I'm Osamu Dazai, the Port Mafia's youngest executive." I tried to look around the dark room, but it was too dark to see anything.
I wiggled my fingers around trying to untie myself. "What the hell am I doing here.." I ask in annoyance. "You? You're here for a meeting with the Port Mafia boss," Dazai responds. "I was never told about a meeting, nor do I want one," I mutter. "Hah, you really think that you have a choice? You're here against your own will!" Dazai says laughing. I rolled my eyes and waited for a few minutes before someone walked into the room and turned the light on.
The person who walked in was around 5'9, with a long coat behind him. They sat in a desk a few feet in front of me and Dazai. "Hello, boss. I am here with Chuuya Nakahara as you requested," Dazai said with his head down. I looked at him and then back at the person sitting down.
"Perfect." he cocks his head and smiles."So Mr. Nakahara, I assume you know about Arahabaki, correct?" he says. "Yeah, what about it? And who are you? You can't just force me into some type of meeting and expect me to tell you shit!" I exclaimed. The man chuckles. "Now, now... language please. I'm Ougai Mori, leader of the Port Mafia," Mori stated, introducing himself.
He crossed his arms and looked down then back at me. "Tell me Mr. Nakahara, would you like to join the Port Mafia? There would be a few changes in your everyday life, but you will enjoy it much more than being in the Sheep." I looked at Mori in surprise and confusion. "What..? Why would I leave the Sheep and all of my friends for some stupid Mafia crap anyways!?" I yelled. "Calm down, Mr. Nakahara. It was only an offer. There's no guarantee whether you would actually get in or not, although there would be a high possibility," Mori went on.
"Anyways, Dazai, I have a mission for you. You'll be stationed in Suribachi City with the Black Lizard," Mori then tells Dazai. "The place that a huge explosion formed?" Dazai asked. Mori nodded his head. "And I want Chuuya to come along with you." "WHAT!?" we both exclaimed. "I understand that he's familiar with the place since the Sheep is located there, correct?" Mori explained. I nodded my head, still surprised by what he said. "Alright then, you both should be on your way now. Go," Mori says, shooing us away.
Dazai's perspective
"*Sigh* why do I have to be here with him.." I muttered to myself. I looked over at Chuuya, who was clearly pouting. "Chin up, 'hatrack'," I said to him teasingly. "Oh fuck off, you 'bandage wasting device'," he said back, rolling his eyes. We continued walking in silence until we finally reached Suribachi City. I looked around, "This place is a total dump. I really overestimated all of this." Chuuya glared at me as I said that. I shrugged and explored for a bit.
After a little while, I heard Chuuya call out my name. Well not my actual name... he called out "Hey, 'social misfit'!" I looked around then saw him with the rest of the Sheep. I rolled my eyes and groaned. "More work for me, I guess," I mumbled.
Once I beat everyone's ass, one of the Sheep stabbed Chuuya with a poisoned blade. "Hey, what the fuck, Shirase!?" he said grunting. "This is what you get for betraying us," Shirase, one of the Sheep, said. "I'm the new leader now," he added. Chuuya looked at Shirase with confusion and frustration.
He then fled the scene, and it was just me and Chuuya (and the Black Lizard, but whatever). "So, since you were kicked out of the Sheep... wanna join the Port Mafia now?" I said smirking. "I mean, it's not like you have much of a choice. Unless you wanna die right here, of course." Chuuya just nodded his head, clearly in pain.
I had the Black Lizard bring Chuuya to the hospital as I headed back to the Port Mafia. Once I got there, I went to Mori's office. *knock, knock* "Mori, you here?" I said, knocking on the door to his office. "Come in," he then said. I opened the door and walked in. "So, how did the mission with Chuuya Nakahara go?" Mori asked." I heard he was sent to the hospital from Hirotsu." I nodded my head, "The Sheep betrayed him and literally backstabbed him with a poison blade." "Must've been quite the show. Did he finally agree to the offer?" he asked. I nodded my head. "He'll be your partner from now on, keep that in mind," he followed with. I nodded my head once again, "I am the one who made the suggestion after all."
Mori smiled and grabbed a folder, "Here, this is filled with Chuuya Nakahara's information, from his blood type to the exact second he was born." "Perfect, thanks," I said as I took the folder. "I'll be on my way now. See 'ya later," I added as I left Mori's office and went to the hospital.
I spotted Hirotsu and told him to bring me to Chuuya. "Why does the first thing I see when I wake up have to be you.." Chuuya said, as he lifted his head up and rubbed his eyes. "You should be glad that the one and only Demon Prodigy is here at your awakening, this ain't your everyday sight. Except it will be for you, because you're officially my partner," I say sighing. "Do I really have to work with a tacky bastard like you..?" Chuuya says in annoyance. "Yeah, thought I just said that," I responded. "Anyways, get your rest because as soon as you're out of the hospital you have your first mission!!" I say teasingly as I leave the room. Chuuya sighed and fell asleep.

This is my first Ao3 fanfic, so sorry if it isn't the best 😓
I hope to make and finish chapter 2 by the end of this week, this chapter took 2 days, but I have band camp and back to school shopping so I don't want to make any promises :((
I take requests as well, so don't be afraid to comment on any mistakes, things I could fix/improve, chapter ideas, etc.
I do have the next 2 chapters planned out so they'll be for chapters 4 and moving forward !!
