The Gray Sun

Summary:

6 poems about sun

Chapter 1: Light

Chapter Text

Amidst all these thoughts, I feel unwell.

Blinding light brings pain to my eyes, I must tell.

Can you believe I wish the sun would burst?

Doesn't sound logical, but soon you'll see, I'm coerced.

Everyone, please understand, no one deserves to die.

Far from my intentions, it's the truth, not a lie.

Great desire to stop the sun's blinding rays.

Harming people must cease, ending these painful days.

In the sunlight, I suffer, though not vampire-like.

Just pale-skinned, no craving for blood to strike.

Keenly, the sun hurts my head, pounding with might.

Like a throbbing heartbeat, it lasts in light and night.

Maybe exploding the sun isn't the proper quest.

No fun, my head pounding when I run with the rest.

Obstructing the sun, perhaps that's the way.

Perhaps a blanket, shielding Earth, come what may.

Questions remain, what if the blanket fails?

Riddled with holes, it won't prevail.

Surely, blowing up the earth seems extreme.

Torn between thoughts, it's like a fevered dream.

Understandably, a feeling tells me it's wrong.

Vehemently, I ignore it, longing for the sun to be gone.

What if my desires are misguided, I don't care.

Xenophobic thoughts, and irrationality, are in the air.

Yearning for the sun's explosion, despite the doubts.

Zealously, I crave darkness, no matter who shouts.
