Chapter 1: A new beginning for Ymir

Chapter Text

After Mikasa ended Eren's life, she bids farewell to Founder Ymir. After this, Ymir closes her eyes before Mikasa. She could finally rest eternally in peace from her nightmare of a life, but she feels a different sensation and wakes up surprised in a place unknown to her. Her memories of her past life are fragmented. She feels as if she had woken up from a terrible dream and wonders:

- "Where am I?"

She feels free and sees this new reality, this new life, as a new beginning, an opportunity to have the life she never had. Ymir, always reserved and cautious, sets out towards this new reality, with no apparent direction, no idea what she might encounter in this strange place.

Everyone is staring at the 26-year-old blonde walking through the area, surprised by her strange and peculiar attire.

Being in a new place, Ymir feels lost and tired. She also feels uncomfortable, especially since it was getting late. As the minutes pass, she starts to feel hungry.

As she continues walking, the sun sets and night begins to fall. She wanted to eat. At that moment, she comes across a café from which an aroma emanates that makes her even hungrier.

She approaches the main display and sees food and things she had never seen in her life. She just stands there, wishing for them.

Just then, a pair of friends run up to the café, and one of them notices the blonde girl looking inside the display. While the other person enters the place, the young man, seeing the blonde, thinks she is a passerby due to the way she is dressed.

She doesn't notice the young man because she is absorbed in looking at the display with longing. The young man approaches her slowly, feeling sorry for her, and invites her.

- "Hi, I see you're curious. Would you like to come in and eat something? I'll treat you."

Ymir, hearing the young man's voice, turns around surprised, maintaining her neutral expression, though she feels warmth and security emanating from him.

She looks at him seriously.

- "Yes, I would like that," she responds in a calm voice.

Both young people enter the place, and the diners look at them with disdain because of their dirty clothes. One of the waitresses approaches them and says to Ymir:

- "Miss, I'm sorry, but you can't enter here."

Ymir is somewhat confused, but the young man in a suit defends her by telling the waitress:

- "She's with me, nothing bad will happen."

As he takes her hand, this gesture makes the blonde blush slightly, as the young man is the first to do something kind for her.

The waitress accepts the young man and leads them to a table.

As they walk, Ymir says to the young man with black hair:

- "I don't want to be a bother..."

The young man replies:

- "No problem, I just want to help you."

Both sit down. Shinji invites her to eat, and she tastes the food, finding it exquisite and surprising as it is something new.

Shinji watches the woman eat eagerly, while he looks at her with a mix of curiosity and sympathy. She seems like she hasn't eaten in 2000 years.

While they eat, the young man asks:

- "So, what's your name?"

- "My name is Ymir. And yours?"

- "Nice to meet you, Ymir. My name is Shinji."

- "So, Ymir, where are you from?"

Ymir, somewhat confused, doesn't remember anything and, with her head down, replies:

- "I don't remember where I come from, or how I got here."

This worries the young man, thinking she might be lost or have amnesia.

Meanwhile, Mari sees them from afar and notices that her sole purpose had already been fulfilled: Shinji met other people and found his possible lifelong partner in this new opportunity.

Mari approaches them and says:

- "Oh, my! Who do we have here?"

This startles the blonde, who was calm.

Mari speaks to them in a flirtatious tone:

- "Hi, am I not too late? Shinji, introduce me to the lady."

Shinji responds kindly:

- "This is Ymir. Ymir, meet my friend Mari."

Mari speaks to the young woman while greeting her with her hand:

- "Nice to meet you."

Mari moves closer and smells Ymir, surprised by her scents, leading her to say:

- "Interesting, I had never smelled these scents before. You're not from around here, are you?"

To which Ymir replies:

- "No, I don't remember where I'm from."

Mari responds cheerfully:

- "No matter, I'll call you 'puppy.'"

Shinji speaks to Mari in her ear:

- "Mari, do you think it would be okay for her to come? She seems homeless and looks abandoned."

Then, Shinji speaks to Ymir:

- "Well, Ymir, would you like to come with us to our home?"

Ymir accepts, knowing she has nowhere to go and spend the night. So, the three leave the place and head home.

Upon arriving, Mari opens the door and enters first, while Shinji invites Ymir in. Ymir, while looking at the ground and holding one of her arms, says:

- "I don't want to be a burden or bother."

To which Shinji, determined, replies:

- "You're my guest, so come in."

Ymir, with tears in her eyes, bows and with a reverence says:

- "Thank you very much, Shinji. I am here to serve and please you as your slave."

Shinji gets a bit agitated and says:

- "Don't do that, I'm not royalty or anything like that, and you're not my slave or anyone else's. You're just my guest here. Come on, come in and rest."

- "I just want to help you."

He responds while stroking her hair.

As he takes her hand to help her up and leads her inside, he shows her the house and her room where she would sleep.

First chapter finished.

Chapter 2: "Despertar en un Mundo Desconocido"

Chapter Text

Ymir woke up in the small room that Shinji had assigned to her. The sunlight filtering through the window gently woke her. She sat up, feeling strangely rested despite everything that had happened. She stretched her arms, looking around the room with curiosity. The bed was much more comfortable than anything she had ever known, and the objects around her were unfamiliar, but she didn't feel afraid. There was something about Shinji and Mari's presence that made her feel... safe.

As she got up, she found a mirror on the wall. Her reflection stared back at her: a young woman with disheveled blonde hair and eyes full of uncertainty. She approached the mirror and touched her reflection, almost as if she couldn't believe it was her she was seeing.

- "Who am I now?" she asked quietly.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door. Ymir gave a small jump, still not used to the sounds of this new world.

- "Yes?" she responded, her voice trembling slightly.

- "Ymir, it's Shinji. Can I come in?"

- "Yes, of course."

Shinji opened the door slowly, showing her a warm smile.

- "Good morning. How did you sleep?"

- "Well... thank you," Ymir replied, feeling a bit uncomfortable with the kindness.

- "I'm glad to hear that. Mari is serving coffee and juice. I've prepared breakfast. Would you like to join us?"

Ymir nodded, following Shinji down the hallway. When they reached the kitchen, Mari was humming a tune while serving the drinks. The smell of food made Ymir's stomach growl, reminding her that she still had much to learn about this world.

- "Good morning, puppy," Mari greeted with a playful smile. "I hope you're hungry."

Ymir blushed slightly at the nickname but said nothing. She sat at the table, watching as Mari served coffee and juice. Shinji sat across from her, looking at her with curiosity.

- "Ymir, there's a lot I'd like to ask you about yourself," Shinji said, breaking the silence.

Ymir looked at him, her eyes reflecting a mix of sadness and confusion.

- "I don't remember much... just fragments of my previous life. It's like it was all a bad dream I've just woken up from."

- "That sounds difficult," Mari said, placing a plate of food in front of Ymir. "But we're here to help you. This can be your new beginning."

- "Thank you," Ymir murmured, taking a bite of her breakfast.

As they ate, Shinji began to tell her about the world she was in now, trying to make her feel more comfortable. He talked about the city, the places they could visit, and the things they could do together.

- "Ymir, is there anything in particular you'd like to do today?" Shinji asked, trying to include her in their plans.

Ymir thought for a moment, looking out the window.

- "I want to understand more about this place... and about myself. I want to find answers."

- "Then we'll explore together," Shinji said with determination. "I promise you won't be alone in this."

After breakfast, the three of them got ready to go out. Ymir dressed in some clothes that Mari had lent her. They were simple but comfortable, and she felt less out of place.

As they walked through the city, Ymir observed everything with curious eyes. The people, the buildings, the technology... everything was so different from what she remembered. But by her side, Shinji and Mari offered constant support.

They spent the day exploring, visiting parks and museums. In one of the parks, Ymir stopped in front of a statue of a woman holding a torch. Something about that image reminded her of her own past.

- "That's the Statue of Liberty," Shinji explained. "It represents freedom and hope."

- "Freedom..." Ymir murmured, feeling a deep connection with the statue.

Mari approached and placed a hand on her shoulder.

- "Everyone deserves to be free, Ymir. And so do you."

The blonde nodded, feeling a new determination growing within her. This was her new beginning, her opportunity to find her true purpose and finally be free.

- "Thank you," she said, looking at Shinji and Mari with gratitude. "Thank you for giving me this opportunity."

As they continued their tour, Ymir began to feel that perhaps she had found a place where she truly belonged.

Chapter 3: "The Beginning of a Bond"

Chapter Text

Days had passed since Ymir joined Shinji and Mari. Gradually, she was getting used to her new life and the customs of this modern world. However, inside her, she felt a lack, an emptiness she recognized from her past life. She longed to find love, that deep connection she had never had the chance to experience.

One morning, while Shinji was preparing breakfast, Ymir approached the kitchen, watching him silently. She admired his dedication and the way he took care of her without expecting anything in return. That kind of kindness and unconditional love were things Ymir could barely comprehend but desperately wanted to learn.

- "Shinji, can I help?" she asked, wanting to be closer to him and learn his customs.

Shinji smiled and nodded.

- "Sure, Ymir. Can you whisk these eggs?"

She took the bowl carefully, following Shinji's instructions. As they worked together, she felt a sense of peace, as if this simple act of cooking was slowly filling that emptiness in her heart.

After breakfast, the three went out for a walk in the park. Ymir walked beside Shinji, observing how he interacted with the world. His gestures, his calm voice, and his willingness to help others were qualities Ymir found fascinating and increasingly attractive.

- "Shinji, have you ever been in love?" Ymir asked, with a mix of curiosity and longing in her voice.

Shinji was thoughtful for a moment.

- "I'm not sure. I've had feelings for people before, but I've never fully understood what love means."

Ymir nodded, feeling a bit more connected to him knowing that they both shared that uncertainty.

- "I... don't understand it either. But I want to learn. I want to know what it feels like to be loved and to love someone."

Shinji looked at her, his eyes full of understanding.

- "We can learn together, Ymir."

With those words, a deeper bond began to form between them. Day by day, Ymir learned more about herself and about love, observing and sharing moments with Shinji. She began to realize that, to love someone fully, she first had to learn to love herself. And with Shinji's help, that task seemed less overwhelming.

One evening, while they were walking in the park, Ymir stopped to watch an older couple walking hand in hand. The scene filled her heart with hope and determination. She turned to Shinji, noticing his hand next to hers. She didn't dare to take it, but the simple thought of it made her heart beat faster. There was something comforting in the idea of sharing her life with someone who understood and accepted her.

Ymir and Shinji continued walking in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Without saying a word, they both knew they were on a journey of self-discovery, one that would bring them closer with each step.

The future was uncertain, but one thing was sure: together, Ymir and Shinji were beginning a new chapter in their lives, one full of possibilities and hope. As they walked, the distance between their hands seemed to diminish with each shared moment, promising a bond that would grow stronger over time.

Chapter 4: A promising future

Chapter Text

Los days flowed into a gentle routine for Ymir, Shinji, and Mari. After weeks of adjustment, Ymir was beginning to feel more comfortable in her new home. Shinji's constant presence and Mari's kindness had filled a void in her heart that she didn't even realize existed.

One afternoon, Shinji returned early from work and found Ymir in the garden, gazing thoughtfully at the flowers.

- "What are you doing, Ymir?" - Shinji asked, approaching her with curiosity.

She turned to him, a soft smile curving her lips.

- "I was thinking about how everything has changed since I arrived here. Thanks to you and Mari, I feel like I've found a place where I belong."

Shinji nodded, looking at her warmly.

- "We're glad to have you here, Ymir. You've brought a new light into our lives as well."

They sat together on a bench near the flowers, enjoying the peaceful sunset. Ymir reflected on the tranquility she found in these simple moments, beside someone who understood her better than anyone before.

- "Shinji, have you ever had passions or dreams you wanted to pursue?" - Ymir asked, breaking the silence.

Shinji furrowed his brow, thoughtful.

- "I used to have dreams, but over time, I lost clarity on what I really wanted to do."

Ymir looked at him with curiosity.

- "And now? What are you passionate about now?"

Shinji pondered for a moment before responding.

- "I'm passionate about helping people. Seeing how I can make a difference in their lives fills me with satisfaction. And also... I'd like to have a family someday. To live in peace, far from everything that has caused us so much pain."

She nodded shyly, feeling warmth rise in her cheeks.

- "I want that too, Shinji. I want to learn to feel safe and loved here with you."

With each shared gesture, from preparing dinner to the way they looked at each other with understanding, their connection grew stronger. In these simple moments, they found a promise of a future together, where they could heal and grow.

The future stretched out before them, full of possibilities and adventures waiting to be explored. And in that moment, Ymir knew she had found something more valuable than any treasure: a home and a heart that truly belonged to her.

Chapter 5: Destined to Know Each Other

Chapter Text

From a distance, Mari Makinami watched with a smile as Ymir and Shinji shared moments at different events and situations. Every interaction between them seemed natural and meaningful, as if they were destined to meet.

On a sunny afternoon in the park, Mari saw them walking together, talking and laughing with complicity. She observed how Shinji enthusiastically pointed out the flowers, explaining their names and characteristics to Ymir, who listened attentively. Her eyes shone with admiration and affection as she learned from him. Mari stood there, marveling at how each of Shinji's gestures seemed to light up Ymir's face, as if she were discovering a new world through his words.

Later that week at a social gathering, Mari watched them from afar as they shared lively conversation in a quiet corner. She saw Shinji leaning in towards Ymir, his expression full of attention and respect as she spoke. Ymir, in turn, seemed relaxed and genuine, occasionally laughing at Shinji's remarks. "It seems like they really understand each other," Mari thought to herself, admiring how their friendship was evolving into something deeper and more meaningful over time.

On a rainy afternoon, Mari found them together in a cozy café. She observed from a nearby table as Shinji shared funny stories from his day at work with Ymir. Ymir listened attentively, smiling and laughing at the anecdotes Shinji recounted with enthusiasm. The way they interacted, comfortable and happy in each other's company, made Mari smile. It was clear they were enjoying every moment together, creating memories that strengthened their connection.

Later that night, as she walked home, Mari reflected on what she had witnessed. Seeing how Shinji and Ymir interacted not just as friends, but as kindred spirits, filled her with joy and hope. She knew she was witnessing something special: the birth of a true and deep love between two people who, against all odds, had found in each other something they had been searching for without knowing.

Chapter 6: a beautiful thought

Chapter Text

The dawn broke with its soft light through the windows, and Shinji got up quietly, trying not to wake Ymir or Mari. It was an early routine, but one he gladly accepted. After a quick shower and a light breakfast, he left the house, leaving a note on the kitchen table.

"See you this afternoon. Have a good day. - Shinji"

The commute to work was calm, but his mind was occupied with thoughts of Ymir. Since she had arrived, his life had taken an unexpected but welcome turn. There was something about her that attracted him in a way he couldn't ignore.

At work, Shinji tried to concentrate on his tasks, but found his mind constantly wandering to Ymir. He remembered the way her eyes lit up when talking about the flowers in the garden, or how her shy smile could brighten a room.

"Shinji, are you okay?" his coworker asked, noticing his distraction.

"Yes, I'm fine," Shinji replied, trying to refocus. "I just have a lot on my mind."

"Well, make sure not to lose focus. This is important work," his coworker warned with a friendly smile.

Throughout the day, Shinji struggled to keep his attention on his tasks. At one point, while handling some important documents, his mind drifted back to Ymir, and he made a mistake that earned him a gentle reprimand from his supervisor, Kaworu.

"Shinji, I need you to concentrate. This job requires your full attention," Kaworu said, giving him a firm look.

"I'm sorry, it won't happen again," Shinji promised, feeling embarrassed by his distraction.

When it was finally time to go home, Shinji felt relieved. As he walked, his mind returned to Ymir and how it would feel to see her again. Opening the door to his house, he was greeted by the sight of Ymir, who was in the living room, reading a picture book that Mari had given her.

"Welcome home, Shinji," Ymir said with a warm smile as he entered.

"Thank you, Ymir. It's good to be back," he replied, feeling his fatigue melt away at the sight of her.

"Did you have a good day at work?" she asked, getting up to approach him.

"It was a long day, but it's fine now that I'm here," Shinji said, dropping his bag and relaxing for the first time all day. "What have you been doing today?"

"Mari taught me some new things in the kitchen. I made something for you," Ymir said, a flash of pride in her eyes.

Shinji smiled, feeling grateful for the warmth and effort Ymir put into making their home a welcoming place.

"I can't wait to try it. Thank you, Ymir," he said, gently taking her hand.

Dinner that night was simple but delicious, and Shinji couldn't help but feel a deep appreciation for Ymir's dedication. As they ate, they talked about their days, sharing small anecdotes and laughter.

After dinner, they went out to the garden to enjoy the cool night air. They sat together on their usual bench, watching the stars begin to appear in the sky.

"Shinji, thank you for everything you do for us," Ymir said softly. "You make me feel safe and welcome here."

"And you make us feel complete, Ymir. I'm very happy to have you here with us," Shinji replied, gently squeezing her hand.

At that moment, Shinji realized how much Ymir meant to him. With each passing day, their connection grew stronger, and he felt like he was building something beautiful and lasting with her.

As the stars shone above them, Shinji knew that despite the challenges and distractions of the day, he would always have a refuge in the warmth of his home and the budding love he shared with Ymir.

Chapter 7: Memories from the past

Chapter Text

The sun shone gently over the park, where Ymir and Shinji were enjoying a peaceful afternoon. The laughter of children echoed around them, creating an atmosphere of joy and carefreeness. As they walked, a small girl ran up to Ymir with a beaming smile.

"Can you lift me up?" the girl asked, extending her arms towards Ymir.

Ymir, with a gentle smile, leaned down and lifted the girl into her arms. However, when she looked into the girl's eyes, something inside Ymir broke. In the girl's face, she saw her daughters from her past life as a slave, and a torrent of painful memories flooded her mind. Tears began to fill her eyes, and her smile faded.

Shinji, noticing the change in Ymir's expression, approached her with concern.

"Are you okay, Ymir?" he asked softly, touching her shoulder.

Ymir, with a broken voice, replied:

"I remembered my daughters... They were rewards given to me. They loved me, but I didn't know how to love them as I should have, even though I loved them so much..."

The girl in Ymir's arms noticed the sadness on her face and looked around, searching for her mother. Shinji gently took the girl and set her on the ground, watching as she ran back to her mother's arms.

"Ymir, I'm so sorry," Shinji said, squeezing her hand gently. "I know what it's like to lose loved ones. In my past life, before I met you, I was a pilot of an Evangelion. I lost many close people, including Misato. She sacrificed herself to stop the Imaginary Eva. Sometimes it feels like the pain never goes away."

Ymir looked at him through her tears, feeling the sincerity and pain in his words.

"Past lives won't return, Ymir," Shinji continued, his voice trembling slightly. "But we have the opportunity to build something new here, together."

As they walked back home, Ymir remained lost in her thoughts. She remembered how she had loved someone who had enslaved and used her. The fear of repeating the same mistake, this time with Shinji, haunted her.

Just when her thoughts threatened to overwhelm her, she felt Shinji's hand taking hers. At first, it was a simple touch, but then it felt different. It was like the string of a kite that had been released, guiding her back to reality.

Ymir looked at Shinji, seeing in his eyes a promise of something different, something better. The warmth of his hand in hers gave her a sense of security and hope that she hadn't felt in a long time.

"Thank you, Shinji," she whispered, squeezing his hand more tightly. In that moment, she knew that, although the road would be difficult, she wouldn't be alone. Together, they could face the past and build a future full of love and understanding.

Chapter 8: A day of friends

Chapter Text

The afternoon sun flooded the living room with a soft, warm light. Mari and Ymir were on the sofa, delighting in a cup of tea while chatting animatedly. Shinji was at work, giving the two women a space to deepen their mutual understanding.

—Ymir, how are you adapting to this environment? —Mari asked, elegantly savoring her tea—. Have you gotten used to your new home?

Ymir nodded slowly, a slight smile appearing as she looked at Mari.

—Yes, thanks to you and Shinji, I have felt welcomed. It's a different environment from anything I've ever experienced, but I'm learning to adjust.

Mari beamed at her words, observing the serenity in Ymir's face.

—I'm glad to hear that. Shinji and I want you to feel at home.

A moment of pleasant silence passed before Mari decided to change the conversation's dynamic.

—Ymir, there's something I’d like to talk to you about —Mari mentioned, locking her gaze with Ymir's.

Ymir looked up, somewhat uneasy about Mari's serious tone.

—What do you want to say, Mari?

Leaning forward, Mari spoke in a quiet but firm voice.

—I'm aware of your feelings for Shinji.

Ymir blushed instantly, feeling her heart beat faster. Words seemed to disappear from her mind, leaving her nervous.

—I... —she stammered, unable to articulate her thoughts.

Mari let out a light laugh, trying to ease the tension.

—Relax, Ymir. There's no need to be embarrassed. It's completely natural. Shinji is an exceptional young man, and I've noticed he feels the same way about you; he appreciates you too.

Ymir lowered her gaze, her hands intertwined in her lap.

—I didn't intend for anyone to know... —she murmured.

Gently, Mari placed a hand on Ymir's shoulder.

—There's no need to hide your feelings. Besides, I think it's something beautiful. Watching you blush just thinking about him is charming.

Ymir looked up, meeting Mari's warm smile.

—Do you really think... he could return my feelings? —she asked, her voice filled with hope and fear.

Mari nodded confidently.

—Of course, you just need to be patient and honest with yourself, and you are a stunning young woman, one of the most beautiful. He noticed you the moment you met, as if your encounter was predestined.

Then, with a mischievous sparkle in her eyes, Mari decided to joke a bit.

—Besides, who wouldn't fall in love with Shinji? With those deep eyes and his posture... —Mari paused dramatically, pretending to sigh dreamily—. Can you imagine Shinji, so handsome, cooking just for you?

Ymir blushed even more, her mind involuntarily wandering to that image. She pictured Shinji in the kitchen, wearing only an apron, his well-defined physique on display, dedicating himself entirely to her. The thought made her feel even more embarrassed and excited at the same time. She even allowed herself to imagine him without any clothes, only wearing the apron, his intense gaze and playful smile.

—Mari, don't say such things! —Ymir protested, though a mischievous smile appeared on her face.

Mari laughed, enjoying Ymir's reaction.

—I'm sorry, I couldn't help it. But seriously, Ymir, there's no need to hide your feelings. It's beautiful to see how someone can make your heart race.

Ymir nodded, grateful for Mari's understanding and support. Though her feelings for Shinji made her anxious, knowing she had someone to talk to eased some of her anxiety.

—Thank you, Mari. Really.

Mari gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze.

—No need to thank me, Ymir. That's what friends are for.

The afternoon continued with lighter conversation; however, Mari's words echoed in Ymir's mind. She knew the path to understanding and accepting her feelings wouldn't be easy, but with friends like Mari and Shinji by her side, she felt ready to face any challenge.

With her heart pounding from the conversation with Mari, Ymir immersed herself in her thoughts as the afternoon came to an end. She reflected on Mari's words, on the possibility that Shinji might reciprocate her feelings. The idea filled her with equal parts hope and fear, but above all, it awakened in her a sense of courage to face the unknown.

Chapter 9: A beautiful day

Chapter Text

The sun shone brightly in the sky, and Mari had a plan. She had noticed how Shinji looked at Ymir with a mix of admiration and confusion, and decided it was time to give him a gentle push in the right direction.

That morning, Mari suggested a picnic in the park. Shinji and Ymir eagerly accepted the idea, unaware of Mari's hidden intentions. As they prepared the food, Mari watched Ymir with a smile.

—Ymir, can you help me with these sandwiches? —Mari asked, winking at her.

Ymir nodded, happy to be helpful. As they worked together, Mari took the opportunity to talk.

—Have you noticed how attentive Shinji is with you? —Mari asked quietly.

Ymir blushed slightly and nodded.

—Yes, he's very kind. He makes me feel safe.

Mari smiled, satisfied with the response.

—He feels the same way about you, you know? I think he cares about you much more than he realizes.

Ymir pondered, her hands busy with the sandwiches as she reflected on Mari's words.

At the park, Mari had chosen a perfect spot, under a large tree with a panoramic view of the lake. As Shinji and Ymir settled on the blanket, Mari watched each interaction closely. She noticed how Shinji constantly sought Ymir's approval, how his eyes lit up when she smiled.

After eating, Mari suggested they take a walk around the lake. As they walked, she started talking casually, letting the conversation flow naturally.

—Isn't this place beautiful? —Mari commented, looking around.

Ymir nodded, gazing at the calm waters of the lake.

—Yes, it's very peaceful. I like it a lot.

Shinji smiled, enjoying the moment.

—It's nice to take a break and enjoy these moments.

Mari nodded, looking at Shinji and then at Ymir.

—Yes, sometimes we need these moments to realize what's really important in life.

Ymir and Shinji exchanged a glance, both understanding the hidden message in Mari's words. As they continued their walk, Shinji remained thoughtful, considering what Mari had said.

Returning to the picnic spot, Mari decided to take it a step further. She pulled out a small radio and turned it on, letting a soft melody fill the air.

—Shall we dance? —Mari suggested with a smile, extending a hand to Ymir.

Ymir hesitated for a moment but eventually agreed. Shinji watched them, feeling a strange mix of jealousy and admiration seeing Ymir smile so freely. Mari, however, kept her goal in mind.

—Shinji, come here —Mari called, signaling for him to join them.

With a bit of insistence, Shinji finally agreed. As they danced, Mari made Ymir and Shinji move closer together until they were finally facing each other. The soft music, the sunlight filtering through the leaves, and Ymir's proximity made Shinji realize something important.

—Ymir, you... —Shinji began, but the words caught in his throat.

Ymir looked at him with a mix of curiosity and hope.

—Yes, Shinji?

He smiled, making a decision in that moment.

—I’m really glad you’re here with us. I mean it.

Ymir felt a wave of emotion, her eyes shining with contained tears.

—I’m happy to be here too, Shinji.

Mari watched them, satisfied with the progress. She knew the path to discovering their feelings wouldn’t be easy, but she was confident that, with a little help, Shinji and Ymir would find the love and happiness they both deserved.

As the evening approached and they headed home, Mari asked with a mischievous smile:

—How did you like the day?

Ymir and Shinji looked at each other with embarrassed but pleased faces, both blushing. Without saying a word, Ymir extended her hand timidly, and Shinji took it gently. They both felt a current of warmth and connection.

Mari noticed their reaction and simply smiled, feeling that her plan was working perfectly.

Chapter 10: a beautiful day at the fair

Chapter Text

The night was filled with excitement and anticipation when Mari suggested a visit to the local fair. She knew that the bright lights and festive atmosphere would be the perfect setting for Shinji and Ymir to get closer.

—What do you think about heading to the fair tonight? —Mari asked casually during dinner.

—Sounds fun —Shinji replied, glancing at Ymir to gauge her reaction.

—I’ve never had the chance to enjoy or experience a fair —Ymir mentioned with curiosity.

—Then it’s decided! —Mari exclaimed. —Let’s head to the fair!

Upon arriving at the fair, they were immersed in the hustle and bustle. The lights of the games and attractions shone brightly, and the air was filled with the aroma of delicious food and the sounds of laughter and music.

—Let’s start with the games —Mari suggested, leading them to a dart booth.

Shinji tried his luck and, after several attempts, won a small plush toy for Ymir. She received it with a shy smile, her eyes shining with gratitude.

—Thank you, Shinji. It’s very charming —Ymir said, holding the plush toy carefully.

Mari, ever attentive, left them alone at strategic moments. When they reached the Ferris wheel, she knew it was the perfect time.

—Let’s go on the Ferris wheel. The views from up there are amazing —Mari said enthusiastically.

They settled into the car, and as they ascended, Mari pretended to be busy with her phone, giving Shinji and Ymir a moment to themselves.

—The view from up here is really beautiful —Ymir murmured, gazing at the fair lights from above.

—Yes, it is —Shinji replied, although his attention was more focused on Ymir than on the view.

The Ferris wheel stopped at the top, and Mari decided to give them a bit of privacy.

—I’m going to take some pictures —Mari said, moving to the side of the car and leaving them alone.

Shinji and Ymir were immersed in a moment of quiet, enjoying the serenity and beauty of the scene.

—I enjoy being here with you, Ymir —Shinji said softly, breaking the silence.

Ymir looked at him, her eyes reflecting the fair’s lights.

—I enjoy being here with you too, Shinji.

They continued enjoying the fair, trying different games and foods. Whenever Mari sensed that their conversation was becoming more meaningful, she found an excuse to leave them alone for a moment.

Finally, they found themselves at the candy stand, buying cotton candy.

—Shinji, try this —Ymir said, offering him a piece of cotton candy.

Shinji took the cotton candy, and as he tasted it, his fingers brushed against Ymir’s. Both blushed slightly but didn’t pull their hands away.

—It’s exquisitely sweet —Shinji commented, smiling.

—Yes, it is —Ymir replied, also smiling.

Mari watched them from a distance, satisfied with the progress. She knew they were closer than ever, and although they hadn’t openly expressed their feelings yet, it was evident.

Chapter 11: A day on the beach

Chapter Text

On a sunny day, Shinji decided it was the perfect time to take Ymir and Mari to the coast. He realized that Ymir had never seen the sea and wanted her to experience the beauty and serenity of the ocean.

— "I propose we head to the beach," suggested Shinji one morning, smiling.

Mari nodded excitedly, always ready for a new adventure. Ymir, though curious, seemed a bit uneasy.

— "What is the beach?" inquired Ymir, looking intrigued.

— "It's the meeting point between the land and the sea. There you'll find sand, waves, and a sense of freedom that you won't find anywhere else," explained Shinji enthusiastically.

After packing essentials like towels, sunscreen, and a light lunch, they headed to the coast. The car ride was peaceful, with Mari sharing funny anecdotes and Ymir marveling at the scenery.

When they arrived, Ymir was amazed by the vast expanse of blue water stretching out before her eyes.

— "It's... impressive," she whispered, not taking her eyes off the horizon.

— "Come on, let's explore," urged Mari, grabbing Ymir's hand and leading her to the shore.

Shinji joined them, smiling as he saw the joy on Ymir's face. They spent the day swimming in the sea, building sandcastles, and enjoying the sea breeze.

Later, as they were resting on the sand, an announcement caught Mari's attention.

— "They're going to hold a sand sculpture contest!" she exclaimed excitedly. — "Why don't we participate?"

Ymir showed interest but was a bit unsure.

— "I don't have much experience in making sculptures," she admitted.

Shinji smiled at her, encouraging her.

— "Don't worry, the important thing is to have fun. Let's give it a try together."

With that spirit, they signed up for the contest. Shinji and Ymir worked together, and Ymir's surprising talent for sculpting the sand stood out. Her skill and creativity impressed everyone present, including Shinji.

— "You're amazing at this, Ymir," praised Shinji, admiring her work.

Ymir smiled, enjoying the recognition and the moment.

— "Thank you, Shinji. I'm glad you liked it."

By the end of the day, their sand sculpture, a towering figure of a humanoid, won first place in the contest. Ymir beamed with happiness, and Shinji felt proud of her.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky with shades of pink and orange, the three friends sat on the shore, watching the waves gently break on the beach.

— "Thank you for giving me this opportunity, Shinji," said Ymir sincerely. — "This has been one of the most memorable days of my life."

Shinji smiled, feeling a warm sensation in his heart.

— "I'm glad you enjoyed it, Ymir. We should do this more often."

Mari, sitting next to him, nodded enthusiastically.

— "Yes, we definitely should do this more frequently."

As night fell, they headed back home, tired but happy. The experience at the beach had brought them closer together, creating memories they would cherish forever.

Chapter 12: taking care of you

Chapter Text

Dawn began with a sense of unease. A gray sky enveloped the city, and the rain fell relentlessly, giving the day a melancholic hue. Ymir was sick, and upon learning this, Shinji did not hesitate to take on the responsibility of caring for her. He prepared a comforting broth and made his way to the room where Ymir lay, wrapped in blankets, her pale face revealing the fragility of her condition.

— "Ymir, how are you feeling?" Shinji asked softly, placing the broth on the nightstand.

Ymir, with a fatigued gesture, gave him a weak smile.

— "I've had better days, but I appreciate your presence, Shinji."

Shinji sat beside her, his concern palpable. Throughout the day, he dedicated himself to assisting her: monitoring her temperature, changing the cold compresses on her forehead, and ensuring she drank enough water. Each gesture and action reflected his determination to ease her discomfort. As he watched Ymir, Shinji felt a deeper connection, perceiving every nuance of her vulnerability and strength.

While Ymir convalesced, her mind wandered back to the dark days of her past. She remembered her existence as a slave and the cold, unyielding service to the king. Every time she fell ill, no one showed concern for her. Her pain and fever were ignored; the coldness of indifference was more penetrating than any ailment. No one brought her broth or changed her cold compresses. Her suffering was invisible to everyone, except herself.

— "Shinji, may I ask you a question?" Ymir broke the silence.

— "Of course, anything you want, Ymir," Shinji replied, watching her intently.

— "Why do you worry so much about me?" Ymir asked, her voice trembling. — "In the past, no one showed concern for me, not even when I served the king."

Shinji leaned forward and took one of Ymir's hands in his, his gaze full of tenderness and determination.

— "Ymir, no one should go through what you've experienced. It doesn't matter who you were in the past or what you did. Now you are here, with us, and you deserve to be cared for and loved," Shinji said firmly, looking into her eyes.

A tear rolled down Ymir's cheek. Shinji's words were a balm for her wounds, a comfort she had never known.

— "Thank you, Shinji. It means a lot to me to hear that," Ymir said, her voice choked with emotion.

Shinji gently caressed her hand, determined to continue caring for her until she fully recovered. With each passing day, Ymir began to feel better. Shinji's dedication not only helped heal her body but also soothed the deep wounds in her spirit.

One night, when Ymir was notably better, Shinji decided to stay with her a little longer. They talked about trivial matters, and the atmosphere became warm and safe, a new and comforting feeling for Ymir.

— "Shinji, I never imagined I could find someone like you, someone who would show concern for me in this way," Ymir said, her eyes shining with sincerity.

Shinji smiled, feeling warmth in his chest.

— "Ymir, I'm here for you. I always will be. You don't have to face anything alone."

Ymir nodded, feeling that, for the first time in a long time, she was not alone. With Shinji by her side, she began to see light in the darkness of her past, giving her new hope for the future.

As the night came to an end, and Shinji prepared to leave the room, Ymir stopped him with a tender look.

— "Shinji, thank you for everything. Truly."

Shinji leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on Ymir's forehead.

— "Rest, Ymir. Tomorrow will be a better day."

Ymir closed her eyes, feeling safe and loved. She knew that with Shinji by her side, she would be able to face whatever challenges the future held for her.

Chapter 13: reflexes of the heart

Chapter Text

One Saturday morning, Shinji, Mari, and Ymir decided to go to the supermarket to stock up on groceries for the week. Ymir, recovered from her recent illness, was excited to go out and explore something new.

— "Come on, Shinji. We need to buy some things for the week," said Mari as she grabbed a shopping cart.

— "Sure, Mari," Shinji replied, pushing the cart towards the entrance of the supermarket.

Ymir walked a few steps behind them, curiously observing each shelf and product she saw. Everything in the supermarket was new to her, from the bright colors of the packaging to the variety of foods she had never seen before.

— "It's amazing how everything seems so fascinating to her," Shinji commented, watching Ymir as she inspected a box of cereal with a look of wonder.

— "Yeah, it's adorable," Mari replied, smiling. — "Shinji, I know how you feel about her."

Shinji paused for a moment, surprised by Mari's straightforwardness.

— "What are you talking about, Mari?" he asked, trying to sound casual while picking some apples.

— "Come on, Shinji. You can't hide it from me. I've seen how you look at her, how you care about her. I know you're in love with Ymir," Mari replied, looking him directly in the eyes.

Shinji stopped, feeling a mix of nervousness and relief at being confronted about his feelings.

— "Well... yes, it's true. I care a lot about Ymir. She makes me feel things I haven't felt before. She's incredibly strong and brave, but she also has a sweetness that disarms me," Shinji said, letting out a sigh.

Mari nodded, satisfied with Shinji's honesty.

— "That sounds wonderful, Shinji. You don't find someone who makes you feel that way every day. Have you told her anything?"

— "No, I haven't. I don't know if it's the right time," Shinji replied, placing the apples in the cart.

— "And when do you think the right time will be?" Mari insisted, standing in front of him. — "If you keep waiting, you might miss your chance."

Shinji sighed, feeling the pressure of the situation.

— "I know, Mari. It's just... everything seems so complicated."

Mari took a deep breath, trying to find the right words to encourage her friend.

— "Shinji, life is too short not to take risks, especially when it comes to the heart. If Ymir is so special to you, you should tell her. Don't let fear paralyze you."

As they walked down the aisles, Ymir approached with a package of cookies in her hand, showing it to Shinji with a smile.

— "Shinji, what is this?" she asked, her voice full of curiosity.

— "They're cookies, Ymir. You can try them if you want," Shinji replied, smiling.

Ymir nodded excitedly and went back to browsing the shelves, enjoying each new discovery. Mari took the opportunity to continue the conversation.

— "Ymir is special, and it's clear that you are special to her too," Mari said, adding a can of beans to the cart.

Shinji nodded, beginning to understand what Mari was trying to tell him.

— "Maybe you're right, Mari. I shouldn't let fear hold me back."

— "Exactly. You have a unique opportunity to be happy, Shinji. Don't let it pass you by."

Shinji watched Ymir, who was now fascinated by the fresh fruit section. His heart filled with warmth as he saw her so happy and carefree.

— "Thanks, Mari. I needed to hear that," Shinji said, with a new determination in his voice.

Mari smiled, feeling she had achieved her goal. She knew that with a little more confidence, Shinji would find the courage to express his feelings.

The rest of the shopping trip went by in a light and cheerful atmosphere, with Ymir enjoying every moment and Shinji and Mari exchanging knowing glances. As they headed to the checkout to pay, Shinji felt a weight had been lifted off his shoulders, and he was determined not to let more time pass without letting Ymir know how he felt.

At the end of the day, they returned home with bags full of groceries and hearts full of hope. The relationship between Shinji and Ymir was growing, and with Mari's support, they knew they could face any challenge that came their way.

Chapter 14: "My safe place" part 1

Chapter Text

---

After a long day at work, Shinji walked back home, with Mari's words echoing in his mind: "You should tell her how you feel, Shinji. Don't let time pass without her knowing how important she is to you."

Upon arriving home, Mari greeted him at the door with a sympathetic smile.

— "Welcome home, Shinji!" she greeted.

— "Hi, Mari. Where's Ymir?" Shinji asked, concern in his voice.

— "She's in the backyard, under the moonlight," Mari replied, with a tone of understanding. — "It seems like she has something on her mind."

Shinji nodded and headed to the backyard. There he found Ymir sitting on the grass, the full moon illuminating the garden with a soft yet intense light. Ymir was lost in her thoughts, tears reflecting the moonlight as her gaze wandered the night sky.

Shinji approached carefully and sat down beside her, wrapping her in a warm embrace. Ymir clung to him, seeking comfort in his closeness.

— "Ymir, are you okay?" Shinji asked, his voice full of concern and tenderness.

Ymir looked up, tears streaming down her face as she tried to speak.

— "Shinji, sometimes I feel like my past haunts me. I remember moments of loneliness and pain, and it's hard for me to let go of it," Ymir confessed, her voice breaking.

Shinji held her tighter, wishing to offer her the comfort she so desperately needed.

— "I'm so sorry for everything you've been through. But those past lives are gone now. We're here now, and we can build something new together. You don't have to face this all alone," Shinji said firmly and soothingly.

Ymir felt her tears fade away, the promise of a new future resonating in her ears. The warmth and closeness of Shinji gave her a sense of security she had never known.

— "I've never had someone make me feel like this before. You make me feel like I've found a place where I belong," Ymir said, her words filled with gratitude.

Shinji gently stroked her back, his words filled with hope.

— "Together, we can create new memories, a life filled with love and care. What we share now is our sanctuary, a special place where we can heal and start anew," Shinji promised.

The serenity of the night, the light of the full moon, and Shinji's embrace created an atmosphere of calm and hope. Ymir, feeling comforted in his arms, began to see the future with a new perspective.

— "Thank you, Shinji. For the first time, I feel like I have a safe place," Ymir said, her voice filled with emotion.

Shinji, deeply moved by the moment, leaned in slowly towards her. Their lips met in a tender and loving kiss. For Ymir, this kiss was a completely new experience. She had never kissed anyone before, and in that moment, she felt like she finally had something she had always desired, something she had never experienced before.

Under the light of the full moon, Shinji and Ymir remained embraced, surrounded by the calm of the night. Although Ymir's past lingered, Shinji's embrace was her new home, a place where she could find peace and hope. The atmosphere reflected the feeling of finding a special place in each other's hearts.

From the background, Mari watched the scene with a satisfied smile. Finally, her plan had borne fruit. Then, unable to contain her excitement, she shouted:

— "Awesome, now I want a couple of little nephews!"

Shinji and Ymir pulled apart, surprised but smiling, knowing they had taken a significant step in their relationship. They stayed together in the backyard, embraced under the moonlight, enjoying the tranquility and the promise of a future together...

Chapter 15: "A safe place" part 2

Chapter Text

After the emotional moment under the full moon, Shinji and Ymir returned inside the house. Though the night had brought a new promise of hope, Ymir still carried the weight of her past. As they prepared for bed, Ymir seemed a little calmer, but her thoughts remained restless.

In the hallway, on their way to their respective rooms, Shinji noticed Ymir's pensive expression. He stopped and gently took her hand, catching her attention.

— "Ymir, you still seem a bit uneasy. If you want, you can sleep in my room tonight. That way, you can feel more comfortable and not be alone with your thoughts."

Ymir looked at him, surprised by the unexpected offer. A slight smile formed on her lips, but her eyes showed a mix of surprise and gratitude.

— "Are you sure, Shinji? I don't want to be a bother," she replied, her voice full of insecurity.

Shinji shook his head, smiling tenderly.

— "Of course, you wouldn’t be a bother. Besides, we're a couple now, right? I want you to feel safe and at ease."

Ymir nodded, accepting the invitation. They both headed to Shinji's room, where he invited her to lie down in his bed. Ymir settled in, feeling the softness of the sheets and the warmth of the room. Shinji lay beside her, and in the stillness of the night, they felt closer than ever.

Ymir, embraced by Shinji, felt the warmth of his body and the safety that emanated from him. It was an entirely new experience for her, even more significant than anything she had ever experienced before. She had never felt such a level of comfort and protection.

— "Shinji... this is different from anything I’ve ever felt before," Ymir murmured, her voice filled with emotion.

Shinji hugged her tighter, gently stroking her back.

— "I’m glad you feel that way. I want you to know that I'll always be here for you, through the good times and the bad."

Ymir closed her eyes, allowing herself to be carried away by the comfort of the moment. The warmth of Shinji's body, the steady rhythm of his breathing, all contributed to a sense of peace she had never known before. Compared to the cold, lonely nights of her past, this was a new and wonderful experience.

— "Thank you, Shinji. For the first time, I feel like I have a safe place where I can rest," Ymir whispered before drifting off to sleep.

Shinji smiled, softly kissing her forehead before closing his eyes as well. Under the covers and in the calm of the night, they found refuge in each other, a place where the past couldn't reach them and where they could begin to build a future together.

Chapter 16: "A special evening"

Chapter Text

After several weeks filled with emotions and new beginnings, Shinji decided it was the perfect time to spend some quality time alone with Ymir. He wanted to invite her to a special dinner where they could enjoy each other's company without distractions.

When he arrived home after a long day at work, he found Ymir and Mari chatting in the living room.

— "Hi, Ymir. Hi, Mari," Shinji greeted, smiling.

— "Hi, Shinji," Ymir responded, smiling back.

Shinji approached Ymir and gently took her hand.

— "Ymir, I've been thinking it would be nice to go out for dinner together tomorrow night. I'd like to take you to a quiet restaurant where we can share a special moment," Shinji said, looking at her tenderly.

Ymir looked at him, surprised but with a shy smile.

— "I'd love to, Shinji," she replied, her eyes shining with excitement.

Mari, always ready to support her friends, jumped in with enthusiasm.

— "Perfect! Ymir, we'll need a special dress for this occasion. Come with me; I have something in mind."

The next day, Mari and Ymir spent the afternoon together, picking out the perfect dress. Mari led Ymir to her room and pulled several dresses from her closet.

— "What do you think of this one?" Mari asked, holding up an elegant and sophisticated dress.

Ymir looked at it, hesitating a bit.

— "It's beautiful, Mari. But... isn't it too much?"

Mari smiled and shook her head.

— "Don't worry, Ymir. I want you to feel special tonight. Besides, I have something else for you."

Mari searched through a drawer and pulled out a small box. Inside was a set of sexy and elegant lingerie.

— "This is for you. I know Shinji will love you no matter what, but this will make you feel confident and radiant," Mari said with a mischievous smile.

Ymir, though a little flushed, accepted the gift. With Mari's help, she got ready for the evening. As she put on the dress and lingerie, she looked in the mirror and felt more confident and beautiful than ever.

When Shinji arrived home, he was stunned at the sight of Ymir. Her beauty left him speechless for a moment.

— "Ymir, you look... you look incredibly beautiful," Shinji said, taking her hand and kissing it softly.

Ymir smiled, feeling more secure.

— "Thank you, Shinji. I'm really excited about our date."

Shinji and Ymir left the house, and Shinji took her to an elegant restaurant in the city center. Upon arrival, a waiter led them to a secluded table where everything was set for a quiet and intimate evening.

As they enjoyed their dinner, they talked about their interests, dreams, and plans for the future. The evening passed with laughter and knowing glances, creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere.

— "Ymir, I want you to know that every moment with you is special to me. You're amazing, and I'm so happy we're together," Shinji said, taking Ymir's hand across the table.

Ymir, moved by Shinji's words, smiled and squeezed his hand.

— "I feel the same way, Shinji. I never imagined finding someone like you. Thank you for making me feel so special."

After dinner, Shinji and Ymir walked together through the illuminated streets, enjoying the calm of the night. When they arrived home, Shinji walked her to her room.

— "Tonight has been wonderful, Ymir. Thank you for sharing it with me," Shinji said, leaning in to give her a tender kiss on the lips.

Ymir, feeling a deep warmth and happiness, returned the kiss.

— "Thank you, Shinji. It's a night I'll never forget."

With that promise in their hearts, they said goodnight with another kiss before going to bed, knowing this was just the beginning of many special moments together.

Chapter 17: "Under the Tree"

Chapter Text

The sun shone brightly in the clear sky, announcing a perfect day for a picnic. Shinji had decided to take advantage of the opportunity and spend a special day with Ymir, far from the everyday worries. He had prepared a basket with food and drinks and was now ready to surprise her with an unexpected outing.

"Ymir, would you like to come with me to a special place?" Shinji asked with an intriguing smile.

Ymir looked at him curiously, nodding with a smile.

"Sure, Shinji. Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise," he replied, taking her hand and guiding her out of the house.

After a short walk, they arrived at a small hill with a solitary tree that offered a cozy shade. From there, they could see a panoramic view of the city in the distance, with its buildings and streets stretching to the horizon. The green and tranquil meadow provided the perfect setting for a relaxing day.

Shinji spread a blanket on the ground and began taking the food out of the basket.

"I thought it would be nice to spend the day here, just the two of us," Shinji explained as he arranged the food.

Ymir smiled, feeling touched by the gesture.

"It's a wonderful idea, Shinji. Thank you for thinking of this."

They both sat on the blanket, enjoying the serene atmosphere. The birds' singing and the wind whispering through the trees created a peaceful ambiance that enveloped them.

Shinji served some food for both of them, and they began eating in silence, savoring each bite. After a while, Ymir broke the silence.

"I've never had a picnic like this before. It's very nice," she said, looking at Shinji with gratitude.

"I'm glad you like it. I wanted to do something special for us," he replied, smiling.

After eating, they lay down on the blanket, watching the clouds pass by. Ymir rested her head on Shinji's shoulder, enjoying the closeness.

"You know?" Shinji began softly. "These little moments are the ones I truly appreciate. Being here with you, without worries, just enjoying the present."

Ymir nodded, feeling the same gratitude.

"I agree. It's something I never imagined I could have. Thank you for sharing this with me."

Shinji gently stroked her hair, enjoying the intimacy of the moment.

"I'll always be here for you, Ymir. I want us to have more moments like this, building memories together."

They spent the rest of the day talking, laughing, and simply enjoying each other's company. Their connection grew stronger with every small gesture, every shared glance, and every whispered word.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of gold and pink, Shinji leaned towards Ymir and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. It was a kiss filled with love and promises, of shared futures and intertwined dreams.

"I love you, Ymir," Shinji whispered, his eyes reflecting the sunset's light.

Ymir smiled, feeling a warmth that filled her heart.

"I love you too, Shinji. Thank you for this special day."

With the sun setting, they embraced, knowing that together they could face anything. They had created a beautiful memory, one they would treasure forever.

Chapter 18: "Together the two"

Chapter Text

After a long day of work, Shinji returned home with the idea of sharing a special moment with Ymir. He found her in the kitchen, curiously looking at a variety of ingredients laid out on the table, clearly unsure of where to start.

-"Hello, Ymir," Shinji greeted her with a warm smile as he entered .- "What are you doing?"

Ymir looked up, relieved to see him. -"Hi, Shinji. I wanted to surprise you with dinner, but… I don't know where to begin."

-"Don't worry," Shinji replied, taking off his jacket and putting on an apron. -"Today, we'll cook together. How about we make sushi? It's fun and relatively simple."

Shinji began taking out the ingredients while explaining each step to Ymir. When it came time to cut the vegetables, he approached her and placed his hand over hers on the cutting board.

-"Look, I'll show you how to do it," Shinji said, gently guiding her movements. -"Keep your fingers like this so it's safer."

Ymir felt the comforting warmth of his closeness and the softness of his hands over hers.- "I never thought cooking could be so… intimate."

Shinji smiled, enjoying their time together. "Cooking can be a very bonding experience. It's a way to create something together."

As they rolled the sushi, Ymir leaned in to get a closer look.- "What are you doing now?"

-"I'm putting in the filling," Shinji explained. -"We want it to be evenly distributed. Would you like to try? I'll guide you."

Ymir nodded and took the lead, smiling as she noticed Shinji's patience. -"That's good. Just make sure it's spread out evenly."

When everything was ready and dinner was served, they both sat down at the dining table. As they ate, Shinji took a bite and looked at Ymir with a smile.

-"Not bad for our first time making sushi. What do you think?"

-"It's delicious," Ymir exclaimed, genuinely impressed. "Thank you for being so patient and for teaching me. It's been a wonderful experience."

Shinji gently took her hand and embraced her softly. -"I'm glad you liked it. Cooking together is a special way to share time and create memories."

Ymir leaned against him, enjoying the warmth and security his presence provided. -"I feel like we're building something very special. Thank you for being here with me."

In that moment, the couple enjoyed a deeper connection. Cooking together had been the perfect way to strengthen their relationship and continue building their future together.

Chapter Text

After a romantic evening out just the two of them, Shinji and Ymir returned home, feeling the electricity of the shared moment still lingering in the air. Shinji opened the door and let Ymir enter first, watching as her dress moved gently with each step, as if her presence illuminated the space around her.

•-"Would you like something to drink?" Shinji asked softly.

•-"No, thank you," Ymir replied with a shy yet meaningful smile.

Both knew that tonight would not be like any other. There was something in the air, a mix of desire, love, and the deep need to be closer to each other. Shinji approached Ymir, taking her hand gently and guiding her to the sofa. They sat together, and although silence enveloped them, their gazes spoke volumes.

-"Ymir, tonight has been wonderful," Shinji said, caressing her cheek softly, enjoying the warmth of her skin beneath his fingers.

- "It has. Thank you for everything, Shinji,-" Ymir replied, her eyes shining with a mix of emotion and desire that seemed to transcend words.

The tension between them grew, and Shinji leaned in to kiss her. It started as a gentle kiss but quickly transformed into something more passionate. Their lips met with a contained urgency, as if both had been waiting for this moment for a long time. Ymir felt the connection between them deepen with each passing second.

- "Shinji..." Ymir whispered when the kiss ended, her voice filled with a blend of desire and vulnerability.

Shinji looked at her, his own feelings reflected in his eyes.

- "Ymir, I want tonight to be special for both of us."

Ymir nodded, taking Shinji's hand and leading him to her room. Once inside, the atmosphere changed, becoming more intimate and charged with anticipation.

-"Would you like a massage before we continue?" Shinji asked with a tender smile on his lips.

Ymir nodded, relaxing her shoulders as Shinji guided her to the bed. She sat on the edge, allowing him to carefully begin unbuttoning her dress, his fingers trembling slightly. Ymir helped him, feeling the desire grow with each button that was undone. When the dress fell to the floor, Shinji looked at her, admiring her beauty without saying a word, his eyes filled with awe and adoration.

Ymir closed her eyes, savoring each caress, each kiss Shinji placed on her skin. As their bodies undressed each other, their movements were gentle, filled with love and desire but also with profound tenderness. There was no rush, only the need to be fully present for each other.

Shinji guided her to the bed, laying her down carefully before beginning the massage. His warm, firm hands started to work on her back, releasing knots of tension as he murmured soft words in her ear.

-"I want you to feel loved, Ymir... safe..."

Ymir sighed deeply, relaxing under Shinji's touch, feeling how each caress released more than just physical tension. It was as if Shinji were healing something inside her, something that had been broken for so long.

- "Shinji..." Ymir whispered, turning to look at him, her eyes filled with an emotion that seemed almost overwhelming.- "I love you..."

- "I love you too, Ymir," Shinji replied, his voice low and filled with sincerity.- "More than words can express."

The massage transformed into something more as Shinji leaned in to kiss her again, this time with a passion that consumed everything. Ymir responded with equal fervor, her hands exploring his body as she felt desire take over them. Their bodies found each other in a passionate embrace, moving together in a rhythm that was uniquely theirs, a dance of love and desire that united them on a deeper level.

Shinji was careful and attentive, ensuring that Ymir felt loved and secure at every moment. Ymir, in turn, gave herself completely, feeling each barrier she had once built around her heart crumble under Shinji's touch.

Amidst shared moans as they finally reached climax together, with both coming together and him inside her as she experienced orgasm, they remained entwined, their bodies still connected, their breaths slowly returning to normal. Ymir snuggled closer to Shinji, feeling his warmth and protection enveloping her, as if nothing else in the world mattered.

• "Thank you for this night, Shinji," Ymir whispered, gently kissing his chest, her lips brushing his skin with a tenderness that surprised even her.

-"Thank you, Ymir," Shinji replied, gently caressing her hair. -"I love you more than words can express."

They stayed like that, enjoying the intimacy and connection they had shared. They knew that this night would mark a turning point in their relationship, strengthening the bond between them and creating memories they would treasure forever.

Amidst all this, Mari, who was in her room in ecstasy hearing what was happening between Shinji and Ymir, said to herself:

- "Why didn't they invite me?"

In the tranquility of a Saturday afternoon, Shinji and Ymir’s home was enveloped in a comforting calm. The sun filtered its golden light through the windows, bathing the interior in a warm glow. Shinji, after a week of work, enjoyed the stillness as he prepared a cup of coffee in the kitchen. The familiar sounds of the coffee maker filled the air, creating a homely and cozy atmosphere.

In the patio, Ymir sat on a rocking chair, her skilled hands moving with precision over a piece of fabric, delicately embroidering. She had learned this new skill from Mari, who had taught her to embroider as a way to express her thoughts and emotions. Despite the serenity of the moment, her mind wandered to memories of the past. Images of a life of suffering, solitude, and enslavement briefly flashed in her mind. These memories, although no longer devastating her as before, still brought with them a sense of pain in the form of throbbing headaches.

As she worked on her embroidery, Ymir began to sing softly, her voice flowing with a mix of melancholy and hope. The song she chose reflected the yearnings that had marked her past life, as well as her deep desire to find something more, something that had always been denied to her.

_"Before I knew it... I no longer had a family
I couldn't know love, so I couldn't have friends
Even my body was someone else's property..."_

Her words floated in the air, carried by the gentle breeze that caressed the flowers in the garden. Ymir continued singing, letting her heart express itself through the melody.

_"Before I knew it... they took away my words
I couldn't know freedom, I couldn't have an identity
Even my heart was someone else's property..."_

In the kitchen, Shinji heard Ymir's voice. Her song, laden with profound sadness, touched him deeply. He turned off the coffee maker and, with a cup in each hand, headed towards the patio. He stopped at the door, observing Ymir, who seemed lost in her thoughts as she sang.

_"But no! I am still alive, after all
I don't want a life that is just taken away
Is love what I truly wanted? Freedom? Or...?"_

Shinji took a step forward, approaching Ymir without interrupting her song. He sat next to her on the wooden bench beside the rocking chair, his presence silent yet comforting.

_"Although something is born from shaping the earth
I am too ignorant to complete it
So, do you understand? What I really wanted... His name is..."_

Ymir's voice began to fade as she finished the last line, her gaze lost on the horizon, beyond the garden. Shinji reached out and gently placed his hand over hers, stopping the movement of her needle.

—Ymir —he said tenderly, his voice full of affection—, everything you were searching for, everything you wanted... you have it now. Here, with me.

Ymir blinked, returning to reality, and turned her head to look at Shinji. Her eyes, filled with a mix of surprise and gratitude, met his.

—But I still feel that... —she began to say, her voice trembling—, that there are parts of me that I don’t know how to fill.

Shinji smiled understandingly and squeezed her hand more firmly, offering the comfort he knew she needed.

—It’s normal to feel that way —he said softly—. We all carry scars from the past, and some never completely fade. But, Ymir, here, now, you’re not alone. What you truly wanted, what you’ve always desired, is right in front of you.

Ymir leaned towards him, letting her head rest on his shoulder. The embroidery was forgotten in her lap as she allowed herself to feel the warmth and security Shinji offered.

—When I heard you sing —Shinji continued, stroking her hair—, I realized how much you’ve suffered, how much you’ve had to endure. But now, you don’t have to carry that weight alone. I’m here, Ymir. Not only to be your partner but to share your pain, your fears, and help you discover what you truly want from life.

She sighed deeply, allowing herself to relax in his arms. Although the painful memories were still there, she felt they were no longer as overwhelming as before. With Shinji by her side, she had found a new purpose, a new meaning for her existence.

—Thank you, Shinji —Ymir murmured—. For being here, for understanding me. For giving me a chance to live, to love, and to be loved.

Shinji smiled and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

—I'll always be here for you, Ymir. Always.

As they remained there, basking in the warmth of the moment, Shinji’s eyes fell on the embroidery Ymir had been working on. It was a family portrait, simple yet meaningful. It showed Ymir and him standing together, with three small figures around them. Those figures, Shinji thought, seemed to represent their children, a vision of a future they both longed for.

—It’s beautiful, Ymir —Shinji said, pointing to the embroidery—. It’s our family, isn’t it?

Ymir nodded slowly, a soft smile curving her lips.

—Yes. It’s what I wish for, Shinji. A home full of love, where we can raise our children and live in peace.

—We’ll build it together —Shinji promised, taking her hands in his—. This will be the beginning of something wonderful.

The wind blew gently, carrying away the last notes of Ymir’s song. Together, under the open sky, they stayed there, enjoying the afternoon, the warmth of the sun, and the promise of a future filled with love and hope.

The world could be a dark and painful place, but in those moments, in the little corner they had built together, there was light, there was peace, and above all, there was love.

Chapter 21: "a visit to the countryside"

Chapter Text

The sun shone with a warm, golden light, promising a perfect day for a country escape. Shinji and Ymir were getting ready for their visit to Shinji’s friends' farm, Kaworu Nagisa and Rei Ayanami. The morning had begun with a sense of excitement and curiosity from Ymir, who, despite having experience with animal care due to her rural past, had never been in such an environment.

They arrived at the farm after a drive filled with lively discussions about what they might find there. The farm was situated in a picturesque landscape, surrounded by green fields and a clear sky. Kaworu and Rei gave them a warm welcome upon arrival.

—Shinji! —Kaworu exclaimed with a broad smile, hugging his friend—. It’s great to see you. And you must be Ymir.

Shinji nodded with a smile, taking Ymir’s hand. —Kaworu, this is Ymir. Ymir, this is Kaworu, my boss in the city.

Kaworu shook Ymir’s hand with a playful smile. —So, you’re the lucky one to have Shinji’s fragile heart.

Ymir smiled shyly, a bit surprised by the comment. —Yes, it seems so.

Kaworu laughed and then turned to Shinji. —I’m glad to see you out of the urban environment for a change. How’s everything going in your life?

—Quite well, thanks. It’s been a relief to get out of the routine —Shinji replied, giving Ymir a grateful look.

Rei, who had been busy in the pen, approached them with a calm smile. —Hi, Shinji. Hi, Ymir. Nice to meet you, Ymir. I was working with the pigs; would you like to help me?

Ymir, recalling her days in a rural environment from her past, showed enthusiasm. —Sure, I’d love to. I have some experience with animals.

Rei led her to the pen, where the pigs were happily trotting around. —Here we are. I’m checking on the pigs to make sure everything is in order.

Ymir began working naturally, displaying an innate skill for handling animals, as if she had never left that life. Meanwhile, Shinji was helping Kaworu in the fields, participating in agricultural tasks.

As Ymir and Rei worked together, Ymir noticed Rei’s skill in managing the tasks in the pen. —You seem very comfortable with these animals —Ymir commented as she watched Rei.

Rei nodded softly. —It’s something I enjoy doing. Do you?

—Yes, I used to do it in my past. I took care of animals in a similar environment, although more rustic. This feels quite familiar —Ymir responded with a small smile.

Rei observed her with interest. —It seems you have a natural talent for this.

—Thank you —Ymir said—. Though I must admit, I’m surprised to find myself with pigs again. It’s like a kind of irony in my life.

Rei raised an eyebrow with curiosity. —Irony?

—Yes —Ymir responded with a smile—. In my past life, pigs were part of my work, but I don’t want to go into details. I’ll just say I prefer this kind of work in a more... friendly setting.

Rei understood and decided to change the subject with a light comment. —Here, you can enjoy the company of the animals without any worries. And if you find the pigs familiar, we could always make a joke about it.

Ymir laughed softly. —Don’t worry. These pigs are more pleasant to me than the ones from my past, that’s for sure.

Meanwhile, Shinji and Kaworu were in the fields, working together on planting some crops. Shinji was pleased with the pace and his friend’s company.

—It’s nice to be out of the city —Shinji said while planting.

—Yes, and it’s great to see Ymir enjoying and helping with the animals —Kaworu replied. —She seems to be in her element.

Shinji nodded. —Yes, it’s been a refreshing change for both of us. Seeing how well she integrates into this environment just makes me appreciate her even more.

After a day of work, they all gathered for an outdoor dinner. Kaworu and Rei had prepared a delicious meal, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter and lively conversation. Ymir sat close to Shinji, enjoying the company and the familiar atmosphere that had been created.

As they ate, Kaworu made a comment to lighten the mood. —Well, it seems you have a good balance between farm work and time with Shinji. How do you feel about all this, Ymir?

Ymir looked at Shinji and then at Kaworu. —I feel very welcomed here. This environment is very different from what I used to know, but it also reminds me of my past in a more pleasant way.

Rei, who was serving the food, joined the conversation. —I’m glad you feel that way. We all need a change from time to time, and I’m happy you’ve found a place where you feel comfortable.

Shinji took Ymir’s hand tenderly, appreciating the moment they were sharing. —This has been a perfect day. Thanks to both of you for hosting us and making us feel at home.

Kaworu raised his glass in a toast. —To friendship, love, and the simple but meaningful moments we share.

Everyone raised their glasses and toasted, enjoying the evening under the stars. The night was filled with conversation, laughter, and a deep sense of satisfaction.

The time at Kaworu and Rei’s farm had been an enriching experience for Shinji and Ymir. It was a reminder that, despite the challenges of the past, they had found a place of peace and happiness in their life together.

Chapter 22: "A normal day"

Chapter Text

The sun was just beginning to filter through the curtains, heralding the arrival of a peaceful Sunday. Shinji stretched in bed, enjoying the comfort of the sheets and the close presence of Ymir, who slept beside him with her gentle, steady breathing. Not wanting to disturb the morning’s tranquility, he carefully got up, placing a soft kiss on Ymir's forehead before heading to the kitchen.

As he prepared the coffee, warm aromas filled the house, and Shinji allowed himself a moment of satisfaction. The simplicity of the scene, being able to enjoy a leisurely day with the woman he loved, felt like a small luxury. As the minutes passed, he heard the soft footsteps of Ymir approaching. She appeared in the doorway with a sleepy smile on her face.

—Good morning —she murmured, still a bit drowsy.

Shinji returned the smile, handing her a cup of hot coffee. —Good morning, Ymir. Today, let’s take it easy. How about we start by making breakfast together?

Ymir nodded, accepting the cup and taking a sip. The warmth of the coffee fully awakened her, and a sense of peace washed over her. She was grateful for these simple moments, where the past seemed distant and all that mattered was the present.

The kitchen became a place of camaraderie and laughter, as Shinji patiently guided Ymir in preparing breakfast. Although Ymir had learned a lot since she began living with Shinji, there were still new things to discover.

—You know? —Ymir said, smiling as she cracked an egg into a bowl—. I’ve learned from the best.

Shinji raised an eyebrow with amusement. —Oh, really? And who might that be?

—You, of course —Ymir replied playfully, winking at him. Her words, though light, were filled with sincerity. Shinji had taught her many things, not just about cooking, but about life in general.

With breakfast ready, they sat at the dining table, enjoying the meal they had prepared together. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, filled with light conversations and glances that spoke more than words.

After breakfast, they decided to spend the day on some tasks around the house. Shinji suggested they could work in the garden, while Ymir mentioned she wanted to finish some embroidery she had started. They divided the tasks, but not before sharing a quick kiss, sealing the promise of a relaxed and happy day.

Shinji spent some time in the garden, pruning and tending to the plants, while Ymir set up in the living room with her sewing kit. The house was filled with a serene peace, interrupted only by the soft rustle of leaves in the wind and the occasional sound of thread passing through fabric.

By late afternoon, Shinji and Ymir reconvened in the kitchen to prepare dinner. They decided to try something a bit more elaborate, a dish they both enjoyed but had never cooked together.

—Let’s do this as a team —Shinji said, placing the ingredients on the countertop.

—Okay —Ymir replied with a smile—. I’m ready to learn from the best.

The preparation of dinner was a coordinated dance, with both moving in perfect harmony, sharing laughter and small touches of affection. At one point, Ymir, focused on chopping some vegetables, felt Shinji’s hand over hers, helping her perfect the cut.

—This is better —he murmured, and their eyes met in a moment of pure complicity.

When dinner was ready, they sat at the table, enjoying the meal and each other’s company. They talked about everything and nothing, sharing thoughts about their future but also appreciating the simple fact of being together.

—I never thought I’d enjoy a day like this so much —Ymir commented, reclining in her chair, satisfied.

—Neither did I —Shinji replied, smiling—. But I think it’s because we share it together.

Ymir leaned toward him, and in a spontaneous gesture, their lips met in a soft and loving kiss. They didn’t need to say more; their hearts were aligned, and both knew that these simple moments were the ones that truly mattered.

Chapter 23: "a quiet day"

Chapter Text

The aroma of damp earth and the soft sound of the wind rustling the leaves were the first to awaken Shinji and Ymir's home. Instead of the usual morning brightness, the day began with a serene, enveloping atmosphere, as if the outside world had decided to grant them a special respite.

Ymir was in the living room, watching the shadows of the plants dance on the floor due to the light filtering through the partially open blinds. Beside her, a cookbook rested on the table, with a bookmark on a page of a new recipe she wanted to try. She had decided to take a different approach to this peaceful day, exploring a new activity that involved not just work but also enjoyment and creativity.

Meanwhile, Shinji was in the kitchen, preparing a batch of homemade bread dough. The soft hum of the mixer and the smell of yeast began to fill the air, creating a cozy atmosphere. Every movement of Shinji was careful and deliberate, showing an almost artistic skill in his approach to cooking.

Occasionally, Ymir would look up from the book and watch Shinji with a smile. Though the words in the book were an enigma to her, the act of cooking together had taken on a special meaning. She rose slowly and made her way to the kitchen, her calm step reflecting the peace she felt.

—Shinji —Ymir said softly, almost like a whisper—, what are you making today?

Shinji looked at her with a smile, the warmth of the kitchen reflected in his cheeks.

—Today we’re trying something new. Homemade bread. I thought we could have it with some jam and fresh fruit for breakfast.

Ymir nodded, her curious gaze directed at the dough. Although she didn’t fully understand the process, Shinji’s enthusiasm was contagious. She approached him and, with a delicate touch, began to help with the preparation. Her hands, though inexperienced, moved with an unexpected grace, guided by Shinji’s instructions and the desire to share the moment.

As they worked in the kitchen, Mari observed from a discreet corner. She had arrived early to enjoy the quiet start to the day, taking the opportunity to see how her friend and her companion found peace and happiness in the little things. The look of satisfaction on Shinji’s face and the joy in Ymir’s eyes confirmed that her presence wasn’t necessary for everything to work perfectly; indeed, her role as an observer was more than enough to appreciate the love manifesting in these simple moments.

As the morning progressed, Mari began to notice small details that hadn’t gone unnoticed before. She observed that Ymir seemed to have an unusually large appetite, eating more than usual and displaying a sudden aversion to certain foods she had previously enjoyed. Additionally, Ymir frequently touched her belly, seemingly unconsciously, and sometimes paused to rest, showing a slight fatigue that was unusual for her.

After preparing the bread and letting the dough rise, Shinji and Ymir decided to engage in a different activity. They went out to the garden, where the sun, now higher in the sky, began to warm the air. The tranquility of the surroundings was palpable; the birds sang softly, and the flowers emitted a delicate fragrance.

Shinji and Ymir sat on the grass, surrounded by the plants and flowers they had cultivated together. Shinji took a toolbox and began to tend to some of the planters, while Ymir focused on trimming some dry branches from the plants. Though the task seemed simple, for them it was a way to enjoy the day and each other’s company.

Mari, still a silent observer, watched as Ymir worked naturally and as Shinji looked at her with a mixture of admiration and affection. The atmosphere was filled with a calm that only exists in the most intimate and private moments, where words are unnecessary to express affection and appreciation. She noticed how Ymir would occasionally bend over, with a tired expression on her face, and how Shinji would approach with a reassuring smile, concerned for her well-being.

As the day progressed, the garden became an even more beautiful place thanks to Shinji and Ymir’s combined efforts. The sunlight bathed the surroundings, creating a sense of warmth and well-being. They paused for a moment to admire their work, sharing a look that spoke more than any words.

As the sun began to set, Shinji and Ymir returned to the house. The bread was ready to be tasted, and the fresh, appetizing aroma filled the kitchen. They sat at the table, enjoying the fruits of their labor and the relaxed atmosphere they had created. Mari, still present, smiled as she saw the satisfaction on their faces and realized how special the simple act of sharing an ordinary day together was.

The day continued with a serenity that can only be achieved when the love and connection between people are deep and genuine. And as the evening faded into a tranquil sunset, Shinji and Ymir, with Mari in her discreet role, found peace in the small moments of life that, together, built a story full of happiness and stability.

Chapter 24: "A longing"

Chapter Text

The morning began with a slight dizziness that made Ymir sit down on the bed for a moment before getting up. Her movements were a bit slower than usual, and although she tried to ignore the nausea, the discomfort persisted. Shinji, noticing her discomfort, approached with a worried expression.

—Are you feeling okay? —Shinji asked while preparing a light breakfast for her.

Ymir nodded, trying to force a smile. —Yes, just a bit of discomfort. I’m fine.

Shinji didn’t seem convinced, but he let Ymir sit at the table. The meal, though simple, was prepared with much care, and Shinji made sure she ate something before heading out. During breakfast, Ymir noticed Shinji attending to her with a special tenderness, as if anticipating any need she might have.

—Thank you for making this —Ymir said as she took a bite.

—You’re welcome —Shinji replied—. Let’s go for a walk in the park today. It will do you good to get some fresh air.

After breakfast, Shinji and Ymir got ready to go out. Mari, who had arrived to visit Ymir, noticed that her friend seemed tired and a bit pale. Although Ymir tried to hide it, Mari was concerned.

—Maybe you could rest a bit —Mari suggested—. But if you want to go out, the park sounds like a good idea.

—Don’t worry, I’m fine —Ymir said with a smile—. It will be nice to get out.

Once at the park, the fresh air and the morning sun provided relief to Ymir. The park was lively with families, children playing, and couples strolling, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere.

As they walked along the path, Ymir and Shinji came across a small wedding taking place in one of the park's areas. The ceremony was simple yet charming, with fresh flowers and elegant decorations creating a magical atmosphere. The bride and groom looked happy, surrounded by their loved ones.

Ymir stopped to watch the scene, her heart beating fast. The ceremony seemed deeply moving, and her eyes shone with a mix of admiration and longing.

—It’s so beautiful —Ymir murmured—. I can’t help but imagine what it would be like to experience a moment like this. To feel completely connected to you, to share that kind of happiness.

Shinji looked at her with tenderness, noticing the sparkle in her eyes. —I’d love to give you that moment someday. I also dream of us experiencing something like that together.

They sat on a nearby bench to watch the rest of the ceremony. While Shinji went to buy some snacks, Ymir relaxed and reflected on the meaning of what she had just seen. She felt that, by witnessing this wedding, her own desire to start a family and to feel completely part of Shinji’s life was being highlighted.

As they rested in the park, Ymir talked about how she had been feeling lately. —I’ve noticed I’ve been more tired and sometimes a bit dizzy. I don’t know if it’s something temporary or if I should be worried.

Shinji listened attentively, his expression filled with concern and support. —Don’t worry, I’m here for you. If you need to rest or if you feel something isn’t right, let me know, and we’ll do what’s necessary.

Back at home, after enjoying a light dinner, Shinji and Ymir sat in the living room. The afternoon had been beautiful and meaningful, and both were ready to relax. As they shared an intimate conversation, Ymir expressed her feelings about the day and her desire for a special ceremony with Shinji.

—Seeing the wedding made me realize how much I want to have that kind of moment with you —Ymir said—. Being part of your life, in a complete way, is something I really long for.

Shinji took Ymir’s hand, his eyes full of love and commitment. —I want that for us too. I love imagining our future together and how we’ll make those dreams come true.

Later, as Ymir prepared for bed, she reflected on the day they had had. The image of the wedding and the conversation with Shinji had given her hope and joy. Despite her discomfort, she felt fortunate to have Shinji by her side and to be building a life together.

—Finally, I feel like I’m in the right place —Ymir thought as she settled into bed—. I’m surrounded by love and feel hopeful about the future. Someday, I will live that dream and be completely a part of your life, Shinji.

Chapter 25: "Something is growing"

Chapter Text

A cloudy sky hung over the city, reflecting a summer day that had begun with a heavy and humid air. Ymir and Shinji had decided to spend the afternoon at home, enjoying the tranquility they both cherished. However, since the morning, Ymir had noticed something strange in her behavior, a latent discomfort she couldn’t quite identify.

Shinji, always attentive, had noticed the discomfort in Ymir’s eyes. She, normally calm and centered, seemed agitated, as if something was disturbing her from within. Shinji had tried to cheer her up with small gestures: preparing her favorite breakfast, suggesting they watch a movie together, and even offering to help with her daily tasks. However, each attempt seemed to be met with introspective silence or a brief, almost curt response.

Ymir, who usually felt comfortable in the routine of their home, began to irritate over small details: the ticking of the clock, the way the sunlight filtered through the curtains, even the sound of water boiling in the kitchen. It was as if everything that used to go unnoticed now deeply bothered her. Shinji, worried but reluctant to press her, maintained some distance, hoping she would open up when she was ready.

While preparing lunch, Ymir felt an inexplicable surge of frustration when Shinji asked her to cut the vegetables in a certain way. Her response was immediate and more intense than expected.

—Why does it always have to be your way? —she exclaimed, surprising even herself.

Shinji looked at her, puzzled but patient, unsure how to respond to this reaction that seemed to come out of nowhere. After a moment of uncomfortable silence, Ymir realized her outburst. Her usual emotional control seemed to have vanished, leaving her feeling vulnerable and confused. She murmured an apology and left the kitchen, feeling a mix of guilt and confusion she couldn’t comprehend.

Ymir went to the small garden they shared, seeking fresh air and a moment of solitude to clear her mind. Sitting in an old wooden chair, she hugged herself, trying to calm the tide of emotions she was experiencing.

As she watched the flowers swaying gently in the breeze, her mind drifted back to the memory of the wedding they had seen in the park not long ago. She recalled the joy on the couple's faces, the way they looked at each other, and how everything seemed perfect, as if nothing else existed in the world for them. That moment had awakened a deep desire within her, something she was just beginning to understand. She wondered if she could ever have something similar and if Shinji felt the same.

From the kitchen window, Shinji watched Ymir with a worry he couldn’t hide. Although he didn’t know exactly what was happening, he sensed that something significant was unfolding beneath the surface. He decided to give her space, trusting that she would talk when she was ready, but the uncertainty began to settle in his chest. There was something in her demeanor, something new that made him feel helpless, as if he were losing his ability to help her.

As the evening fell, Ymir came back inside the house, her face visibly more serene but still carrying a tension she couldn’t hide. Shinji, without saying a word, gently embraced her, enveloping her in a gesture of understanding. Ymir allowed herself to rest in his arms, letting the weight of her emotions fade away, at least for a moment.

As silence enveloped them, Ymir murmured softly:

—I don’t know what’s happening to me, Shinji… I just feel different, out of control…

Shinji held her firmly, not trying to offer answers, just letting his presence be enough. In his mind, the memory of the wedding still resonated, a quiet desire he didn’t know how to express.

That night, as they snuggled in bed, Shinji noticed how Ymir moved restlessly, as if her mind couldn’t find peace. The sky outside was now clear, and the moonlight gently bathed the room. Shinji, still worried but determined not to press her, leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips, a gesture that conveyed all the love and reassurance he wished to give her. Ymir, though still confused, responded to the kiss, feeling a momentary calm amid the storm in her mind.

Although they didn’t know for sure, both could sense that something new and deeply transformative was growing inside Ymir, something they would soon not be able to ignore.

Chapter 26: "A revelation"

Chapter Text

The sun had begun to decline, casting a golden light through the house’s windows. Shinji had left for work, leaving Mari and Ymir in the comfort of their home. Mari, with a mischievous smile, had prepared a snack to share with Ymir, and the two settled in the living room to chat and enjoy the moment.

—Finally, a bit of peace and quiet! —exclaimed Mari, serving tea and cookies. She sat across from Ymir with a playful glint in her eyes—. So, tell me, how are things with Shinji? You haven’t told me much about how he acts in private.

Ymir, though a bit shy, smiled. Sometimes it was hard for her to talk about her feelings and intimate experiences, but Mari’s closeness made her feel more at ease.

—Shinji is... very kind. He makes me feel safe, and he’s been very attentive.

Mari, sensing that Ymir needed to loosen up a bit more, leaned forward with a conspiratorial air.

—Oh, come on! Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed how he handles your whims. I’ve heard some interesting rumors! Since you’ve been with him, he seems to have become more enthusiastic about fulfilling all your wishes.

Ymir blushed, unsure of how to respond. Mari’s candor surprised her, but she also appreciated the openness of the conversation.

—Yes, sometimes it’s like he wants to make me happy all the time. Although I’m not sure how to handle some of the... whims I have.

Mari chuckled softly, clearly entertained by Ymir’s shyness.

—I’ve heard that, in those intimate moments, Shinji is quite... passionate. It’s not uncommon to hear noises at night, you know? The last time you were alone with him, I must admit I heard something quite... vibrant. His way of satisfying you is legendary!

Ymir blushed deeply, feeling her cheeks burn. She didn’t know how to react to such comments, but Mari’s words made her feel a mix of embarrassment and excitement.

—Yes, it’s been... special —Ymir said nervously—. Sometimes I wonder if I’m asking too much.

Mari leaned forward with a playful smile.

—You know, I was also wondering if you could lend me Shinji to experience that "special" feeling. I’m sure he has a unique way of... making things intense.

Ymir tensed, her brows furrowing with jealousy and surprise.

—No, you can’t do that —she responded firmly, though her tone also reflected some insecurity—. Shinji is... special to me. I wouldn’t want anyone else... to experience what only he can give me.

Mari raised her hands in surrender, laughing.

—I was just joking, Ymir. But I understand how you feel. There’s nothing like that unique connection you two have.

Ymir, still a bit uncomfortable, felt relieved by Mari’s friendly attitude. She decided to change the subject to avoid further discomfort.

—Thanks for understanding, Mari. I’m glad we can talk about this, even though I sometimes feel a little... insecure.

Mari settled back in her chair, her expression turning more serious.

—Speaking of things I’ve noticed, lately, I’ve seen you eating more than usual, and you’ve been feeling unwell after meals. Doesn’t it seem a bit strange?

Ymir frowned, not fully understanding the point.

—Yes, I’ve been eating more, and sometimes I feel unwell after meals. My belly also seems more... swollen. I’m not sure if it’s normal.

Mari watched her closely, her thoughts racing. The possibility of Ymir being pregnant was something she had been considering but didn’t want to alarm her without being sure.

—Well, those symptoms... increased appetite, discomfort after eating, and a bigger belly could be signs that you might be... expecting a baby.

Ymir looked at her in surprise, not fully comprehending. She didn’t know much about pregnancy tests or how to confirm it, but the idea of being pregnant surprised her.

—Really? But how would I know if I’m actually pregnant? —Ymir asked, her voice trembling.

Mari settled back in her chair, trying to find the right words.

—There are tests that can confirm pregnancy, but what’s important is not to worry too much. What matters most is that you take care of yourself and talk to Shinji when he gets back. I’m sure he’ll be as excited as you are.

Ymir nodded, beginning to process the possibility of becoming a mother. Although she was surprised and a bit scared, she also felt a deep happiness at the thought of the life she was building with Shinji.

—Thank you, Mari —Ymir said, grateful—. For being here and helping me understand this.

Mari gave her a warm hug, feeling that she had taken the first step toward a new chapter in her friend’s life.

—I’ll always be here for you, Ymir. And no matter what happens, I know Shinji will be by your side, loving and supporting you every step of the way.

With a smile on her face, Ymir looked at Mari and allowed herself to dream of a future filled with love, protection, and a new life she could share with Shinji. She knew the road ahead would be different, but she was ready to face any challenge, knowing she would do so in a place that truly mattered to her.

Chapter 27: a confession

Chapter Text

The afternoon began to be tinged with shades of orange as Shinji walked back home. His mind was submerged in a tide of thoughts he couldn't quiet. Work had been a temporary distraction, but now that the day was ending, the topic that had been troubling him for weeks once again dominated his mind: his relationship with Ymir and what it meant for their future.

As he walked through the familiar streets, Shinji wondered if it was the right time to propose to Ymir. Their relationship had grown naturally and beautifully, evolving from simple cohabitation to a deep, shared love. However, the idea of getting married, of formalizing everything, seemed like such a big step that he couldn't help but feel nervous.

Images of Ymir—her smile, her contagious laughter, her way of looking at the world with that mix of innocence and wisdom—filled him with warmth. He loved her; there was no doubt in his heart. But along with that love, he felt a fear he couldn't shake. What if he wasn't good enough for her? What if he ended up becoming someone like his father? That thought pained him deeply.

When he arrived home, Shinji paused for a moment in front of the door. He took a deep breath before entering, mentally preparing himself for what could be a revealing night. However, he wasn't prepared for what awaited him.

As he opened the door, he was greeted by a more lively atmosphere than usual. Ymir was in the kitchen, assisted by Mari, who was chatting and laughing as she stirred a pot. Ymir seemed focused, but there was a softness in her expression, something different. Mari was the first to notice his arrival.

—Shinji, just in time! —Mari exclaimed with a mischievous smile—. We have something special for you today.

Shinji smiled weakly, his thoughts still tangled. He approached Ymir and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek, noticing that she seemed calmer than usual, as if there was something she wanted to tell him but hadn't yet found the words.

—Everything okay? —Shinji asked, looking into her eyes.

Ymir nodded, but before she could respond, Mari intervened with her usual energy.

—Ymir went to the doctor with me today! —Mari announced, causing Shinji to frown in confusion—. And we have news!

Shinji felt a knot in his stomach. Mari's words seemed light, but there was something in her tone that made him feel he was about to hear something important. He turned to Ymir, who now had a serious yet calm expression.

—Shinji... —Ymir began, taking his hand—. I've been feeling a little different lately, so Mari suggested I get some tests done.

Shinji nodded slowly, his heart pounding as he tried not to get ahead of himself with his own assumptions.

—And... —Ymir paused, glancing at Mari before refocusing on Shinji—. It turns out... I'm going to have a baby, Shinji. We're going to be parents.

Time seemed to stop for Shinji. Ymir's words echoed in his mind, but he struggled to process them. A father? Him? He felt a mix of joy and terror that left him paralyzed for a moment.

—A baby...? —he repeated, more to himself than to anyone else.

Ymir nodded, smiling with a warmth that completely disarmed him.

—Yes, Shinji. A baby. We're going to start a family.

Shinji felt tears welling up in his eyes, but they weren't just from happiness. The fear that had been lurking in his mind now grew larger. How was he going to be a good father? How was he going to avoid becoming someone like his father? What if he failed?

Ymir noticed the change in Shinji's expression, the fear beginning to cloud his happiness. Before she could say anything, Mari stepped forward, seeing the internal struggle brewing in Shinji.

—Shinji, I know this is a big step, and that you probably feel overwhelmed —Mari said, with a softness she rarely showed—. But listen, you're not alone in this. Ymir is with you, and so am I. Besides, you have the chance to be the father you always wanted, not the one you feared becoming.

Shinji looked at her, his eyes reflecting the uncertainty he felt.

—I don't know if I can... —he murmured, almost in a whisper—. I don't want to make the same mistakes my father did. I don't want to hurt our child, or Ymir...

Mari placed a hand on his shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze.

—It's natural to be afraid, Shinji. But that fear also tells you something important: you care. You care enough to want to be different, to want to be better. And that's what will make you a good father.

Ymir approached Shinji, taking his other hand and squeezing it gently.

—I trust you, Shinji. I know you'll be a good father because I know how much you love and care about us. You're not alone in this; we'll do it together.

Shinji felt the support and love from Ymir and Mari like an anchor keeping him safe amid his turbulent emotions. He took a breath, trying to calm his mind, and finally nodded.

—You're right... —he said, though his voice was still a bit shaky—. I don't want to be like him. I want to be the father I never had.

Mari smiled, giving him a playful punch on the arm.

—That's the spirit! And don't worry, you have two amazing women backing you up. You won't mess this up, because you're not alone in this.

Ymir smiled too, her eyes shining with love and confidence.

—I love you, Shinji. We're going to build a beautiful family together.

Shinji felt the fear beginning to dissipate, replaced by a renewed determination. He looked at Ymir and then at Mari, feeling a deep gratitude for having them in his life.

—I love you too, Ymir —He finally smiled, a little more confident in himself—. We're going to be a family.

Dinner continued in a more relaxed atmosphere, though Shinji knew this was only the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. The fear hadn't completely vanished, but now it was accompanied by a hope and determination he hadn't felt before.

After dinner, Mari excused herself to leave the couple alone. Ymir and Shinji settled on the couch, with Ymir leaning on his shoulder, both quietly watching the sunset from the window.

—Thank you for being here, Shinji —Ymir murmured, breaking the silence—. I know this is a big change, but I'm happy to share it with you.

Shinji hugged her tighter, his thoughts on the future that awaited them.

—Thank you, Ymir, for trusting me. I don't know how everything will be, but I want to do it right. I want our child to grow up in a home full of love.

Ymir smiled, feeling that despite the uncertainties, they were on the right path.

—We'll do it right, Shinji. Together, always.

The night slowly faded, and with it, Shinji's doubts began to disappear as well. He knew there would be challenges, that there would be difficult moments, but he also knew that with Ymir by his side, and with Mari's help, he could face anything. For the first time in a long time, he felt like he had control of his life, and that he was ready to take on the role of a father, not just for the baby on the way, but for the family they were building together.

—We're going to be a family —Shinji murmured once more, before closing his eyes and letting sleep envelop him in a comforting embrace, with Ymir nestled by his side.

Chapter 28: The Commitment

Chapter Text

The sun was beginning to set on the horizon as Shinji walked through the city streets, heading towards the café where it all began. It was a modest place, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but for him and Ymir, it held a deep meaning. It was there that their paths first crossed, where a simple invitation to that poor girl with no one in this world became the beginning of what would be a love story that now filled their days.

As he walked, Shinji couldn't help but let his thoughts revolve around what he had discovered the day before: Ymir was expecting his child. The news filled him with immense joy, but also with deep fear. The shadows of the past always clung to him, reminding him of his father Gendo's mistakes. He couldn't help but think about how Gendo had been unable to connect with him when he needed it most, and how that had left scars on his heart. Now that he was going to be a father himself, the fear of repeating those mistakes overwhelmed him.

Shinji walked with a slight tremor in his hands, and it wasn't because of the cold. In his pocket, his fingers touched the ring he had bought days earlier, a simple yet elegant silver band with a small diamond, which he had carefully chosen, thinking about what it would represent for both of them. He had made the decision to propose to Ymir, although anxiety and nervousness kept him on edge. He wanted to make sure they were united in a way that no one could break, especially now that they were expecting a child together.

Upon reaching the café, he recognized it immediately, with its small tables and cozy atmosphere. It was the place where they met, where they really began to get to know each other. Through the window, he could see Ymir sitting with Mari, who was chatting animatedly. His heart skipped a beat at the sight of them, and for a moment, he just stood there, looking at the woman he loved so much.

Mari, with her boundless energy, noticed Shinji's presence first and gestured for Ymir to look towards the door. When their eyes met, Ymir smiled softly, making Shinji's world revolve entirely around her.

Shinji walked towards them, his nervousness growing with each step. Upon reaching the table, he sat down next to Ymir, feeling a familiar warmth being close to her. Mari, always astute, noticed the change in the atmosphere and decided to give them a little space.

— I think it's a good time for you two to have a moment alone — Mari said with a mischievous smile, winking at Ymir before getting up. — I'll be back in a while. You have important things to talk about.

Shinji nodded gratefully, watching Mari walk away and leave the couple in the intimacy of their table. However, Ymir didn't seem to notice Shinji's nervousness; she simply looked at him with the serenity that characterized her.

They remained silent for a moment, enjoying each other's company. Shinji felt the weight of what he was about to do, but Ymir's presence calmed him. He knew she had nothing more to tell him, she had already given him the news of her pregnancy in the previous chapter. Now, it was his turn to speak.

— Ymir — Shinji finally said, his voice a little shaky. — There's something I've been thinking about for a while… something I want to ask you.

Ymir looked at him curiously, waiting for his words with a slight smile on her lips.

— We've been through so much together — Shinji continued. — And now, with the baby on the way… I feel like I want us to be united in a way that no one can break.

He took the ring out of his pocket and placed it on the table between them. Ymir looked at it in surprise, her eyes shining as she realized what was happening. Shinji took the ring and, with trembling hands, brought it closer to her.

— Ymir, I want you to be my wife. I want us to share our life, to face whatever comes together. Will you marry me?

Ymir looked at him intently, excited and, for a moment, speechless. The proposal was unexpected but no less desired. Slowly, she nodded, a soft but genuine smile lighting up her face.

— Yes, Shinji — she replied, her voice breaking slightly with emotion. — I want to spend my life with you, as your wife, and as the mother of our child.

With Ymir's confirmation, Shinji slipped the ring onto her finger. They both remained silent for a moment, simply enjoying each other's company, knowing they had just taken an important step in their life together.

A few minutes later, Mari returned. Upon seeing the ring on Ymir's finger, her face lit up with a mischievous and joyful smile.

— Well, well! — Mari exclaimed, crossing her legs and extending her hand towards Shinji with a theatrical gesture. — Is it my turn now, puppy?

Mari feigned a pleading expression, blatantly flirting with Shinji. He, a little bewildered, tried to laugh, but before he could say anything, Ymir shot him a look, clearly jealous and annoyed by Mari's boldness.

— Mari… — Ymir said in a tone that left no doubt about what she thought of the situation.

Mari let out an amused laugh and lowered her hand, standing up to sit next to Ymir.

— Relax, relax, I was just kidding — she said, hugging Ymir by the shoulders. — But, congratulations! This is a big step for both of you, and I'm so happy for you.

Ymir couldn't help but smile at Mari's words, although she still maintained a slightly annoyed expression. Shinji, for his part, felt that everything was falling into place. Mari's joke had lightened the mood, and the tension he had felt moments before began to dissipate.

— Thank you, Mari — Shinji said, sincerely grateful for her support. — Really, I couldn't have done this without you.

— Oh, I know — Mari replied with a wink. — But don't worry, Shinji. Now the important thing is that you enjoy this moment. You have a beautiful life ahead of you.

The night continued in the café, amidst laughter, memories, and a conversation about the future that now lay ahead of them. As they held hands, they looked out the window and watched the world continue to turn, but now, knowing that they would face it together, as a family.

Chapter 29: "a new friend"

Chapter Text

The days passed quickly, and Shinji and Ymir's house was full of activity as the wedding preparations continued at full speed. Shinji, worried about every detail, worked alongside one of his friends, Kensuke, to ensure everything was in order. Although the logistical details were in good hands, Shinji’s main concern was ensuring Ymir's well-being during this special time.

—Shinji, stop worrying so much —said Kensuke with a reassuring smile—. We’ve covered all the important aspects. Just make sure you’re there for Ymir.

Shinji sighed and nodded, though his mind was still full of worries. The news of the pregnancy had made him more aware of the responsibility he now had and the need to protect Ymir from any possible stress.

—You’re right, Kensuke —said Shinji—. I want everything to be perfect for her and the baby.

With Kensuke's help, Shinji organized the final details, from choosing the venue to the menu. Despite the support he received, he couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the magnitude of the responsibility he now had.

While Shinji and Kensuke were busy with the preparations, Ymir and Mari spent the day with Asuka Langley Shikinami. Despite Asuka’s sometimes challenging attitude, Ymir was grateful for her company and support. Although she didn’t show it openly, Asuka also felt a slight unease seeing Ymir with Shinji, a remnant of her old affection for him.

—Come on, Ymir! —exclaimed Asuka, dragging Ymir and Mari into a high-fashion boutique—. Let's find a dress that will make you shine at the wedding.

Ymir, with a mix of excitement and nervousness, let Asuka take control. Asuka, with her unmistakable style, chose several dresses, each focusing on highlighting Ymir's beauty.

—This one is perfect for you —said Asuka, showing off a turquoise dress that contrasted beautifully with Ymir's fair skin and turquoise eyes—. The color will make your eyes stand out.

Ymir tried on the dress, admiring how the color enhanced her appearance. The combination of blue and her pale skin tone gave her a delicate, ethereal air that Asuka had perfectly captured.

—It’s beautiful —said Ymir, looking at herself in the mirror—. Thank you, Asuka. You really know what you’re doing.

Asuka crossed her arms and nodded proudly, but her thoughts were a bit mixed. Despite her apparent disinterest, she felt a small pang seeing Ymir happy with Shinji. The reality that Ymir had taken a place in Shinji's life that she had wanted for herself wasn’t easy to accept.

—Yeah, yeah —said Asuka with a smile—. Although I can’t help but notice you’re stealing the show. Though, of course, I can't stop thinking about how you look next to Shinji.

Mari, noticing Asuka's biting tone, stepped in to change the subject and lighten the atmosphere.

—Asuka, how’s everything going with Kensuke? —asked Mari, trying to steer the conversation onto more neutral ground.

Asuka relaxed as she spoke about Kensuke, her expression softening into a warm smile.

—Everything's great with Kensuke —said Asuka—. He makes me feel accepted just as I am, and that’s something I really value.

After several hours of shopping and laughter, the group stopped at a nearby café to relax and have some coffee. As they sat down at a table, Ymir, Mari, and Asuka chatted about the wedding details and life in general.

—You know, Asuka? —said Ymir as she settled into her seat—. Planning the wedding and the pregnancy are making me think a lot about the future. I never imagined all this would happen so fast.

Asuka watched Ymir with a mix of admiration and contained frustration. Despite her complicated feelings, she couldn’t help but feel a little jealous of the place Ymir had reached in Shinji's life.

—Yeah, well —said Asuka, trying to keep her tone light—. I imagine you’ll be busy with everything. And by the way, it seems you’ve found a good way to drive Shinji crazy with all the preparations.

Mari, noticing the shift in the conversation's tone, tried to step in to keep the mood friendly.

—Asuka, you know all this is for the good of Ymir and the baby. We’re all here to support her.

Asuka nodded, her gaze softening a little.

—I know, I know —she said—. It's just... sometimes I wonder what it would be like if things had been different. But I see that Ymir is happy, and that’s what matters.

Ymir, sensing the sincerity in Asuka's voice, reached over and gave her arm a gentle pat.

—Thank you, Asuka —said Ymir—. Your support means a lot to me. And I’m glad you can share these moments with us.

Asuka smiled, though her expression still showed a mix of emotions. The conversation continued in a more relaxed atmosphere, and as the day came to an end, Ymir felt grateful for the time spent with her friends and the support she had received.

Returning home, Ymir felt relieved and happy, having enjoyed the day and the company of Asuka and Mari. Although Asuka had shown her more challenging side, she had also demonstrated her care and concern, something Ymir deeply valued.

Shinji, who had been busy with the last details of the day, greeted her with a smile as she arrived.

—How was your day with Asuka? —Shinji asked, noticing the happiness on Ymir's face.

—It was wonderful —Ymir replied—. Asuka and Mari helped me a lot with the preparations. The dress is perfect, and I really feel supported.

Shinji hugged Ymir, feeling a deep satisfaction at seeing her happy and relaxed. He knew there was a lot to do, but he also understood that the support of their friends and loved ones was essential to making everything more manageable.

As the couple settled on the couch, Shinji took Ymir's hand and gently squeezed it.

—I’m glad everything is going well —said Shinji—. And I’m grateful to have people like Asuka and Mari by our side.

Ymir nodded, looking at Shinji with a smile full of love and gratitude.

—I’m grateful too —said Ymir—. Together, we’re building something beautiful, and with everyone’s support, I know everything will turn out perfect.

The night closed with a sense of calm and satisfaction as the couple prepared for the next chapter of their life together, surrounded by the love and support of their closest friends.

Chapter 30: "an old friend"

Chapter Text

A sunny day greeted Ymir and Shinji as they walked through the quiet streets of the city. As they went along, the everyday noise faded away, replaced by the soothing murmur of trees swaying in the wind. The stress of wedding preparations seemed lighter, allowing them both to enjoy each other’s company.

—It’s been a relief to get out for a while —Shinji remarked, gently stroking Ymir’s hand—. I think we both needed this moment.

Ymir nodded, a soft smile on her lips.

—Yes, this is exactly what we needed —she replied, intertwining her fingers with Shinji’s and resting her head on his shoulder.

As they walked, Shinji recognized a group approaching on the sidewalk. At first, his eyes caught sight of Toji Suzuhara, followed by his wife, Hikari, and their little daughter, Tsubame. With enthusiasm, Shinji waved to them.

—Toji! —Shinji called out with a wide smile—. What a coincidence to run into you here!

Toji looked up and, upon recognizing Shinji, grinned widely.

—Shinji! It’s great to see you! —exclaimed Toji, extending his arms in welcome—. How are you, my friend?

—I’m good —Shinji replied, returning the hug—. Toji, let me introduce you to Ymir, my fiancée.

Ymir smiled at Toji and extended her hand for a shake.

—It’s a pleasure to meet you, Toji —Ymir said, her voice warm and sincere.

—The pleasure is mine, Ymir —Toji replied with a smile—. Shinji has told us a lot about you.

Hikari joined the conversation, holding Tsubame in her arms, and smiled friendly at the couple.

—Hello, Shinji. Hello, Ymir. I’ve heard so much about you —Hikari said, cradling Tsubame—. This is our daughter, Tsubame.

Ymir leaned in to look at Tsubame, admiring the little baby with curiosity and tenderness.

—Hello, Tsubame —Ymir murmured, smiling at the baby who looked back at her with big, inquisitive eyes.

Shinji, Toji, and Hikari continued talking about old times, laughing and sharing stories. Meanwhile, Ymir watched Tsubame, who was calmly in Hikari’s arms, fascinated by the new and unfamiliar face of Ymir. The little one waved her tiny hands, trying to reach Ymir’s blonde hair, which shone under the sun.

—It seems Tsubame likes you —commented Hikari with a smile—. Would you like to hold her?

—Of course, I’d love to —Ymir replied, extending her arms to take the baby.

Feeling the warmth and light weight of Tsubame in her arms, Ymir experienced a wave of emotions. She thought of her own daughters, those she had lost in her previous life. But alongside the pain, she also felt a deep love and hope. As she gently rocked Tsubame, she felt a connection that transcended time and space.

With Tsubame in her arms, Ymir moved a little away from the group to sit on a nearby bench. She watched as the baby explored her surroundings with curiosity, reaching out her tiny hands toward the gently swaying leaves.

—You’re a very curious little one, aren’t you? —Ymir whispered, gently caressing Tsubame’s cheek.

As the baby looked up at her with bright eyes, Ymir felt something inside her soften and transform. She thought about her own daughters, the life she once had, and what it would mean to have a family again. Despite the lost lives, at that moment, she felt as though she carried a piece of them with her.

Shinji approached quietly and sat beside Ymir, watching the scene with a gentle smile.

—It looks like you’re getting along well with Tsubame —he commented, taking Ymir’s hand—. What are you thinking about?

—I’m thinking about... what could be —Ymir replied with a sigh, her eyes filled with a mix of sadness and hope—. It’s strange, but holding Tsubame makes me feel something I thought I had lost.

Shinji squeezed Ymir’s hand gently.

—I understand what you’re feeling. Those emotions will always be a part of you, but you also have a future ahead —Shinji said firmly—. And I’ll be with you every step of the way.

Ymir smiled at him, grateful for his support.

—Thank you, Shinji. I’m happy to have you with me —Ymir said, leaning in to give him a kiss on the cheek.

After a while, Ymir and Shinji rejoined Toji and Hikari. The couple smiled seeing the relaxed and content expression on Ymir’s face.

—It seems Tsubame has a new friend —Toji remarked, laughing—. How about we all go for a drink together? There’s a nearby café with a nice atmosphere.

—Sounds great! —Shinji responded, nodding—. What do you think, Ymir?

—I think it’s a wonderful idea —Ymir said, smiling at Toji and Hikari—. It’ll be nice to spend more time together.

At the café, the group sat around a table, sharing stories and laughing together. As Toji and Shinji talked about their school experiences and how their lives had changed, Hikari and Ymir engaged in a conversation about motherhood and hopes for the future.

—Ymir, you must be excited about what’s coming —Hikari said, looking at Ymir with understanding—. Being a mother is an incredible experience, though it can also be overwhelming at times.

Ymir smiled, nodding while keeping her thoughts about her past daughters to herself.

—Yes, I am —Ymir replied, trying to maintain her calm—. It’s a mix of emotions. Sometimes it’s overwhelming, but I feel that this new life is an opportunity for a fresh start.

Hikari took Ymir’s hand with empathy.

—And you’ll do great, I’m sure of it. You have a big heart, and that’s what matters most —Hikari said with an encouraging smile.

As the sun began to set, the group decided to end the day with a peaceful walk through the nearby park. Ymir, with Tsubame in her arms, walked alongside Shinji, Toji, and Hikari, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and the company of friends.

As they walked, Ymir felt an inner peace she hadn’t experienced in a long time. With Shinji by her side and the promise of a bright future, she felt ready to face whatever challenges life might bring.

At the end of the day, as they said goodbye to Toji, Hikari, and Tsubame, Ymir felt more connected to her own humanity and the love surrounding her.

—Thank you for this wonderful day —Ymir said, leaning toward Hikari and Toji—. It’s been a pleasure meeting you.

—The pleasure is ours, Ymir —Hikari replied, smiling—. I hope we can do this again soon.

—Definitely —Toji said, nodding—. You’re always welcome.

As Shinji and Ymir walked away, hand in hand, they knew that this day had been more than just a simple stroll through the city. It had been a reminder of the connections that bound them, of shared hopes, and of the love that sustained them through difficult times. And in that love, they found the strength to move forward, together.

Chapter 31: "Para ti, después de b3y+s1N"

Chapter Text

The sun had set below the horizon, leaving the sky painted in shades of orange and purple. In their home, Ymir sat on the edge of the bed, gently caressing her increasingly noticeable belly. Her turquoise eyes reflected a mix of excitement and worry. Beside her, Shinji watched with a blend of love and admiration, seeing his fiancée and their future child.

Shinji smiled as he watched her caress her belly, a gesture that had become almost instinctive in recent days. He moved closer and knelt by her side, resting his head softly against her belly.

—Does it feel different yet? —he asked quietly, his tone filled with tenderness.

—Yes —Ymir replied, not taking her eyes off her belly—. It’s as if a part of me knows something wonderful is growing here. But there’s also fear… fear of not measuring up.

Shinji looked up and took her hand, squeezing it gently.

—I understand your fears, Ymir. But you’re not alone in this. Together, we can overcome any obstacle —he reassured her, his words full of certainty and love.

Ymir nodded, but her thoughts kept drifting back to her past, to moments when her life had felt like a series of events beyond her control. She wondered if she truly had the power to change her fate or if everything had been written from the start. As she tried to push these thoughts away, the image of her lost daughters emerged in her mind, and her heart was filled with a deep longing for those she had left behind.

That night, as she slept, Ymir dreamed of the days when she had been a slave, bound to the desires of others and used as a tool of power. In her dream, she walked along a long, dark path, surrounded by shadows representing the faces of those she had lost in her past life. In the distance, familiar figures appeared among the shadows: Eren and Mikasa, two people who had taught her the value of freedom and the importance of making her own choices.

The path was lined with tall, slender trees that seemed to whisper ancient secrets as the wind rustled through their leaves. Ymir walked slowly, her steps light but determined, as if each one brought her closer to the truth she sought. The presence of Eren and Mikasa provided her with a sense of comfort, a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there was always light at the end of the path.

Eren, with his usual intensity, turned to her, his green eyes shining in the dimness.

—Ymir, remember what you’ve always wanted. Freedom to choose, freedom to be who you want to be —Eren said, his voice echoing in the silence.

Mikasa, with a serene and understanding expression, added:

—Don’t let the past define your future. You have the strength to change it.

Eren and Mikasa’s words filled Ymir with determination as she continued down the path. As she walked, a bright light appeared in the distance. It was a warm, comforting light that drew her forward, filling her with hope and strength. As she approached, the light took the shape of a man with a straw hat, bending over what appeared to be plants.

Ymir stopped, intrigued by the figure tending to a small garden. Though she couldn’t see his face clearly, there was something familiar about his posture and movements. She approached cautiously, her footsteps gently echoing on the ground.

—Who are you? —she asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

The figure did not respond immediately, continuing his careful and dedicated work of watering the plants. Finally, he turned slightly, enough for Ymir to see part of his face. Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized Shinji, though she couldn’t understand why she hadn’t seen him earlier.

Shinji looked up, his expression warm and welcoming. Although his face was partially hidden by the straw hat, Ymir could see the familiarity of his smile and the tenderness in his eyes.

—Ymir, you’re not alone. You have the power to choose your own path and to create a different future for yourself and our family —he said, his voice resonating with firmness.

Ymir felt a wave of relief and hope. Despite the uncertainties she faced, she knew that Shinji would be by her side, supporting her every step of the way.

Upon waking, Ymir felt that something had changed inside her. She got out of bed and looked at Shinji, who was still asleep beside her. She realized that, although she couldn’t change her past, she had the power to influence her future. She decided that she would no longer allow the shadows of her past life to dictate her path.

With determination, Ymir dressed and stepped out into the morning air. She walked to the garden, where she sat among the flowers, feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin. While she was there, she thought about her lost daughters and the baby growing inside her. She promised to do everything possible to provide them with a better future, one filled with love and hope.

She recalled the garden in her dream, with Shinji watering the plants, and felt that her own life was like that garden, full of possibilities that would bloom with care and love. Despite the difficulties of the past, she was determined to build a new future for her family.

Later that morning, Shinji joined Ymir in the garden. He sat beside her, taking her hand in his.

—Ymir, how are you feeling? —he asked, looking into her eyes.

—I feel different —Ymir replied, smiling sincerely—. I’ve realized that I can change my destiny. I don’t have to repeat the mistakes of my past. I have the chance to start anew, with you.

Shinji smiled, relieved to see the determination in Ymir’s eyes.

—I’m here to support you in whatever you need —he said—. Together, we can overcome any obstacle.

Ymir nodded, feeling a wave of gratitude and love toward Shinji. She knew it wouldn’t be an easy path, but with Shinji by her side, she was ready to face any challenge that came her way.

That night, as they prepared for bed, Ymir and Shinji talked about their plans for the future. They discussed the upcoming wedding, the birth of their child, and the dreams they shared for their life together.

—I want our family to be different —Ymir said, resting in Shinji’s arms—. I want our children to grow up in a world where they are free to choose their own path, without the chains of the past.

—and so it will be —Shinji replied, kissing Ymir’s forehead—. We’ll build that future together, step by step.

As they snuggled together under the blankets, Ymir felt an inner peace she had never experienced before. She knew the path ahead would be full of challenges, but it was also filled with promises and possibilities. And with Shinji by her side, she was ready to face the future with hope and courage.

Ymir woke early the next day, determined to face the new day with a positive attitude. As she got ready to go out, she found herself caressing her belly again, remembering Eren and Mikasa’s words in her dream. She thought about the lives of her past daughters and how, despite not being able to bring them back, she would carry their love and memories with her into this new chapter of her life.

Seeing Ymir so serene and determined, Shinji felt a deep admiration for the woman he had chosen as his life partner. He approached her and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek.

—How about we take a walk around the city today? —Shinji suggested, hoping that a stroll would let them enjoy the present and plan for the future.

Ymir nodded enthusiastically. As they walked hand in hand through the city streets, she felt that the future was full of possibilities and that, no matter what happened, they would face it all together.

Chapter 32: "Twice Upon a Dream "

Chapter Text

Days passed, and the long-awaited day of Shinji and Ymir’s
wedding finally arrived. The sky was clear, and the sun shone with a special warmth, as if even nature wanted to be part of the celebration. The wedding would take place in the countryside, surrounded by green meadows and distant mountains. A grand tree stood near where the ceremony would be held, its branches spreading out as if blessing the location.

The ceremony was set to take place under a large cherry tree in bloom, its pink branches stretching over the makeshift altar. The guests, dressed in their finest attire, began to arrive and take their seats in rows of chairs, chatting animatedly as they awaited the arrival of the bride and groom.

In a nearby house, Ymir was preparing for the big moment, adjusting the veil that fell elegantly over her face. Mari, by her side, was overseeing the final details, making sure everything was perfect. Ymir’s dress, simple yet exquisite, was adorned with fine lace that caught the sunlight in a soft glow.

—You look radiant, Ymir. Shinji won’t be able to contain his excitement when he sees you —Mari said with a warm smile.

Feeling a mix of nerves and excitement, Ymir gazed at her reflection in the mirror. She had waited so long for this moment, and now she was about to take the most important step of her life.

—Thank you, Mari. It’s incredible to think that this day has finally arrived —Ymir replied, her smile reflecting both the joy and the anxiety of the moment.

Meanwhile, in an adjacent room, Shinji adjusted his tie for the final time, his trembling hands betraying his nervousness. Kaworu, the best man and his closest friend, watched him with a serene and encouraging look.

—Today is a special day, Shinji. Everything will be fine. Ymir is perfect for you, and you for her —Kaworu said, placing a reassuring hand on Shinji’s shoulder.

Shinji nodded, a mix of emotion and peace enveloping him as he heard his friend’s words.

—Thanks, Kaworu. I’m eager to start this new chapter with her —Shinji replied, adjusting the lapel of his suit and taking one last look at his reflection.

The music began to fill the air, a piano melody that evoked a sense of hope and eternal love. The guests stood as Ymir made her entrance, accompanied by Mari. Her dress shimmered under the sun, and her eyes were fixed on Shinji, who awaited her under the cherry tree in bloom.

Ymir walked toward the altar with a serenity that contrasted with the excitement she felt. As she walked, her thoughts turned to the past, remembering her longing for a moment like this—a longing that had seemed a distant dream when she had seen a couple kissing at their wedding, a moment she had only been a spectator of. But now, standing before the man who had helped her discover love and freedom, that dream had become a reality. Shinji had shown her that true love was not only possible but also rightfully hers.

When she reached him, Shinji took her hand, looking at her with a depth of feeling that overflowed from his eyes. The ceremony was simple yet profoundly meaningful, with vows that reflected their eternal commitment and the love they shared.

—Ymir, I promise to stand by your side every step of the way, to support you and love you forever —Shinji said, his voice resonating with palpable sincerity.

Ymir smiled, tears of happiness shimmering in her eyes.

—Shinji, with you I’ve found the love and freedom I always desired. I promise to love and respect you, facing every challenge together —Ymir replied, her voice reflecting renewed firmness and warmth.

As the ceremony reached its climax and Ymir spoke her vows, Shinji felt a comforting presence enveloping him. He looked toward the horizon and saw a familiar figure near the grand tree—the silhouette of his mother, Yui, watching him with a smile full of love and pride. In that moment, Shinji felt a deep connection with his mother, a feeling that brought him peace and strengthened his love for Ymir.

The officiant declared them husband and wife, and as applause and cheers filled the air, Shinji and Ymir shared a kiss, a symbol of their union before all their loved ones.

Later, everyone moved to the tent set up in the field for the reception. The tables were adorned with floral centerpieces and candles that cast a warm and inviting glow. Music filled the ambiance as the guests enjoyed the celebration.

Shinji and Ymir moved among their loved ones, thanking each one for their presence and celebrating the love that united them. They danced together, laughing and savoring each moment, surrounded by the admiration of friends and family.

At one point, Kaworu took the microphone to make a toast.

—To Shinji and Ymir, who have proven that true love not only exists but can also transcend any challenge. May your life be filled with joy and love. Cheers! —Kaworu said, raising his glass with a solemn gesture.

Everyone raised their glasses and toasted, their voices joining in a chorus of joy and celebration.

As the party continued, Shinji and Ymir shared a knowing look, feeling the desire to be alone. Hand in hand, they slipped discreetly out of the tent. Once outside, they looked at each other again.

—Let’s go, Ymir —Shinji said, his smile brimming with emotion and complicity.

Ymir, feeling the deep connection with Shinji, tightened her grip on his hand, her gaze reflecting both excitement and determination.

—Yes, let’s go —Ymir replied.

Together, they began to run, away from the crowd and the celebration. Their laughter mingled with the wind as they ventured toward an uncertain destination. The lights of the party faded into the distance, leaving only the starlit sky and the vastness of the field around them. Together, they embarked on their journey into the unknown, letting love and freedom guide them toward a future full of possibilities.

Chapter 33: "A Shared Destiny"

Chapter Text

The sun had set on the horizon, leaving the sky painted in shades of orange and purple. In the room of their house, Ymir sat on the edge of the bed, gently caressing her belly, which was becoming more noticeable with each passing day. Her turquoise eyes reflected a mixture of excitement and concern. Beside her, Shinji watched her intently, a blend of love and admiration in his eyes as he looked at his fiancée and their future child.

Shinji smiled as he saw her caressing her belly, an almost unconscious gesture that had become habitual in recent days. He moved closer to her and knelt by her side, gently resting his head on her belly.

—“Does it feel different already?” —he asked softly, his tone full of tenderness.

—“Yes,” —Ymir replied, not taking her eyes off her belly—. “It’s like a part of me knows that something wonderful is growing here. But there’s also fear... fear of not being enough.”

Shinji looked up and took her hand, squeezing it gently.

—“I understand your fears, Ymir. But you’re not alone in this. Together, we can overcome any obstacle,” —he assured her, his words full of certainty and love.

Ymir nodded, but her thoughts kept returning to her past, to the moments when she felt her life was nothing more than a series of events beyond her control. She wondered if she truly had the power to change her destiny or if everything was already written from the beginning. As she tried to push those thoughts away, the image of her lost daughters emerged in her mind, and her heart filled with a deep longing for those she had left behind.

That night, as she slept, Ymir dreamed of the days when she had been a slave, bound to the desires of others and used as a tool of power. In her dream, she walked down a long, dark path, surrounded by shadows that represented the faces of those she had lost in her past life. In the distance, familiar figures appeared among the shadows: Eren and Mikasa, two people who had taught her the value of freedom and the importance of making her own choices.

The path was lined with tall, slender trees that seemed to whisper ancient secrets as the wind blew through their leaves. Ymir advanced slowly, her steps were light but determined, as if each one brought her a little closer to the truth she sought. The presence of Eren and Mikasa provided her with a kind of comfort, a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there was always light at the end of the road.

Eren, with his usual intensity, turned towards her, his green eyes shining in the dim light.

—“Ymir, remember what you’ve always wanted. Freedom to choose, freedom to be whoever you want to be,” —Eren said, his voice resonating in the silence.

Mikasa, with a serene and understanding expression, added:

—“Don’t let the past define your future. You have the strength to change it.”

Eren and Mikasa’s words filled Ymir with determination as she continued walking down the path. As she advanced, a bright light appeared in the distance. It was a warm, comforting light that drew her forward, filling her with hope and strength. As she approached, the light took the shape of a man wearing a straw hat, bent over what appeared to be plants.

Ymir stopped, intrigued by the figure who seemed to be tending a small garden. Although she couldn’t see his face, there was something familiar in his posture and movements. She approached cautiously, her steps softly echoing on the ground.

—“Who are you?” —she asked, her voice full of curiosity.

The figure didn’t respond immediately, continuing his task of watering the plants with care and dedication. Finally, he turned slightly, just enough for Ymir to see part of his face. Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized Shinji, though she didn’t understand why she hadn’t seen him before.

Shinji looked up, his expression warm and welcoming. Although his face was partially hidden by the straw hat, Ymir could see the familiarity of his smile and the tenderness in his eyes.

—“Ymir, you’re not alone. You have the power to choose your own path and create a different future for yourself and our family,” —he said, his voice resonating with firmness.

Ymir felt a surge of relief and hope. Despite the uncertainties she faced, she knew that Shinji would be by her side, supporting her every step of the way.

Upon waking, Ymir felt that something had changed within her. She got out of bed and looked at Shinji, who was still sleeping beside her. She realized that, although she couldn’t change her past, she did have the power to influence her future. She decided that she would no longer let the shadows of her past life dictate her path.

With determination, Ymir dressed and stepped out into the fresh morning air. She walked to the garden, where she sat among the flowers, feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin. As she sat there, she thought of her lost daughters and the baby now growing inside her. She promised herself that she would do everything in her power to provide them with a better future, one full of love and hope.

She remembered the garden in her dream, with Shinji watering the plants, and felt that her own life was like that garden, full of possibilities that would bloom with care and love. Despite the difficulties of the past, she was determined to build a new future for her family.

**Scene 5: A New Beginning**

Later that morning, Shinji joined Ymir in the garden. He sat down beside her, taking her hand in his.

—“Ymir, how do you feel?” —he asked, looking into her eyes.

—“I feel different,” —Ymir replied, smiling sincerely—. “I’ve realized that I can change my destiny. I don’t have to repeat the mistakes of my past. I have the chance to start anew, with you.”

Shinji smiled, relieved to see the determination in Ymir’s eyes.

—“I’m here to support you in whatever you need,” —he said—. “Together, we can overcome any obstacle.”

Ymir nodded, feeling a wave of gratitude and love toward Shinji. She knew it wouldn’t be an easy path, but with Shinji by her side, she was willing to face any challenge that came their way.

That night, as they prepared for bed, Ymir and Shinji talked about their plans for the future. They discussed their upcoming wedding, the birth of their child, and the dreams they shared for their life together.

—“I want our family to be different,” —Ymir said, lying in Shinji’s arms—. “I want our children to grow up in a world where they are free to choose their own path, without the chains of the past.”

—“And so it will be,” —Shinji responded, kissing Ymir’s forehead—. “We’ll build that future together, step by step.”

As they cuddled together under the blankets, Ymir felt an inner peace she had never experienced before. She knew that the road ahead would be full of challenges, but it was also full of promises and possibilities. And with Shinji by her side, she was ready to face the future with hope and courage.

Ymir got up early the next day, determined to face the new day with a positive attitude. As she prepared to go out, she found herself caressing her belly again, remembering Eren and Mikasa’s words in her dream. She thought of her past daughters’ lives and how, although she couldn’t get them back, she would carry their love and memories with her into this new chapter of her life.

Shinji, seeing her so serene and determined, felt a deep admiration for the woman he had chosen as his life partner. He approached her and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek.

—“Let’s take a walk around the city today, shall we?” —Shinji suggested, hoping that a stroll would allow them to enjoy the present and plan for the future.

Ymir nodded enthusiastically. As they walked together through the city streets, hand in hand, she felt that the future was full of possibilities and that, no matter what happened, they would face everything together.

Chapter 34: The miracle of love

Chapter Text

It was a quiet afternoon at Shinji and Ymir's house, nestled deep in the countryside, far from the tensions of the city. The wildflowers danced in the gentle breeze as the sun slowly slipped towards the horizon. Inside, the warmth of the home enveloped the couple, who were in the final stretch of their pregnancy.

Ymir, with her advanced belly, sat in a chair near the window, watching the fields stretch out into infinity. Shinji was by her side, caring for her with a mixture of love and concern that had only grown over the months. With every movement Ymir made, his attention intensified, fearful that the moment of childbirth would arrive sooner than expected.

—It seems our little one is eager to meet us —Ymir commented with a soft smile, gently caressing her belly.

—I know… I'm nervous, but excited —Shinji responded, tenderly taking Ymir's hand.

Just then, the front door opened, and Mari entered with her usual vibrant energy. She had come to visit them, as she regularly did since learning of Ymir's pregnancy.

—Hey, guys! —Mari greeted as she quickly approached Ymir—. How’s the future mom?

—A little heavier, but good —Ymir replied, returning Mari's smile.

They spent the next few hours talking, enjoying each other's company. Mari, always attentive and with her medical instincts on alert, couldn't help but notice the small signs of discomfort in Ymir. As the afternoon progressed, the pains began to intensify. Ymir tried to downplay them with reassuring words, but Mari knew what was happening.

—Shinji… —Ymir suddenly said, a tone of alarm in her voice—. I think the time has come.

Shinji immediately stood up, panic seizing his face. He had been waiting for this moment, but now that it was here, reality hit him hard.

—Mari, we have to take her to the hospital —Shinji said urgently, heading toward the door.

But Mari stopped him, her tone firm and assured.

—There's no time for that, Shinji. The birth has started, and it's going to be fast. We have to do it here.

Shinji's heart pounded as he looked at Ymir, who was beginning to feel more intense contractions. Mari, wasting no time, got to work organizing everything needed for a home birth.

Shinji felt time distort as he helped Ymir lie down on the bed, his mind flooded with worries. Beside him, Mari maintained an unwavering calm, guiding Ymir through the process with the skill of a professional.

The contractions came stronger and more frequently. Ymir, despite the pain, clung to the hope and love that sustained her in that moment. Each heartbeat, each push, brought her closer to meeting the daughter she carried within. Meanwhile, Shinji, unable to do anything else, held Ymir's hand, murmuring words of encouragement and silently praying, hoping that everything would turn out well.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Mari told Ymir it was time to push. The room filled with the sounds of effort until a new cry broke the silence. Shinji felt his heart stop as Mari lifted the baby, wrapped in a blanket.

—It's a girl —Mari announced with a smile that reflected both relief and joy.

Shinji felt tears fill his eyes as he watched Mari place the baby in Ymir's arms. Ymir, with her face covered in sweat and exhaustion, looked at her daughter for the first time, and inside her, a truth became clear.

In her mind, Ymir thought about her past, all she had suffered, all she had lost. But as she looked at her daughter, she knew that this little one was not a trophy, not a product of pain or slavery. This child had been born from love, a love she had found in Shinji, a love that was pure and true.

—Maria… —Ymir whispered, naming her in honor of a daughter she had once lost, but also giving it a new meaning, a symbol of the love that now filled her life.

Shinji leaned down, gently kissing Ymir's forehead and little Maria's. In that moment, all the worries and fears disappeared, leaving only the peace of knowing that their family was complete, that the miracle of love had brought a new life into the world.

Chapter 35: The first days

Chapter Text

The dawn in the countryside brought with it a special calm. The first rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains, filling the room with a soft golden light. The house where Shinji and Ymir lived, situated in a secluded corner of the world, was filled with a tranquility that could only be found far from civilization. Inside, the most notable sound was the gentle breathing of their daughter, Maria, asleep in her mother's arms.

Shinji was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. He had learned to cook enough to make that small routine something special. The aroma of freshly made tea filled the air, mixing with the smell of toast. From time to time, Shinji glanced toward the living room, where Ymir was sitting in the armchair, rocking Maria to keep her asleep.

As Ymir watched her daughter, her mind filled with thoughts. She had experienced much pain and struggle in her life, but those moments seemed to blur in the face of the sight of her daughter in her arms. Maria was not a symbol of punishment or slavery but the representation of the love and freedom she had finally found with Shinji. It was hard for Ymir to fully understand how she had reached this point, but every time she looked at Maria, she felt that everything had been worth it.

After breakfast, while Shinji was busy in the kitchen, the sound of a motor broke the serenity of the place. A car stopped in front of the house, and looking out the window, Shinji saw his old friend Kaworu getting out of the vehicle. Shinji smiled, happy to see his friend, and hurried to open the door.

—Kaworu! —Shinji exclaimed, approaching to greet him.

—Shinji, it's been a while —Kaworu replied with his usual calm smile. His eyes sparkled with a mix of joy and nostalgia at seeing his friend in this new chapter of his life.

Shinji gestured for him to come in, and together they walked toward the living room, where Ymir was cradling Maria.

—Ymir, look who has come to visit us —Shinji said, his voice soft and full of emotion.

Ymir looked up and smiled upon seeing Kaworu, who approached with calm steps.

—It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Maria —Kaworu said, slightly bowing toward the baby, who continued to sleep peacefully.

—It’s a pleasure to have you here, Kaworu —Ymir responded with a warm smile.

Kaworu pulled out a small gift box and handed it to Shinji. Inside, there was a car key.

—This is for you, Shinji —Kaworu said, with a hint of mischief in his eyes—. I think it will be useful in the future.

Shinji raised an eyebrow, a bit confused, and then looked out the window to see a luxurious Lamborghini Urus SUV parked outside the house. His eyes widened in surprise.

—Kaworu, are you serious? —Shinji asked, almost speechless.

—Yes, I am —Kaworu replied—. Your family is growing, and I know that what now seems like a small gesture will be necessary later. Consider this as an investment for the future.

Shinji took the key, feeling an unexpected weight of responsibility, but also a warm sense of gratitude.

—Thank you, Kaworu. I really don’t know what to say —Shinji said, looking at his friend.

Kaworu smiled, placing a hand on Shinji's shoulder.

—You don’t have to say anything. Just live your life, take care of Ymir and Maria. Everything else will come in time —Kaworu said, with a certainty that seemed to come from a deep understanding of life.

The afternoon passed quietly, with light conversations and shared laughter among friends. As Kaworu held Maria in his arms, Ymir and Shinji realized how fortunate they were to have such important people in their lives. Maria, though small, was already surrounded by love and care, something both parents deeply valued.

As the sun began to set, Kaworu prepared to leave. But before he left, he took one last look at the house, at Shinji, Ymir, and Maria, and smiled.

—Remember, life is full of surprises. But as long as you’re together, you can face anything that comes your way. Take care of yourselves, and take care of this little one —he said, pointing to Maria.

Shinji and Ymir said goodbye to Kaworu, thanking him once again for his unexpected gift and his visit. When Kaworu's car disappeared into the distance, Shinji and Ymir stood at the door, holding hands, watching as the sky turned shades of orange and pink.

Back inside the house, Ymir placed Maria in her crib, watching as she slept peacefully. She thought about how far she had come, how that little life she cradled was not the result of a cruel fate but of a deep and sincere love. In silence, she was grateful for having found Shinji and for the opportunity to form a family with him.

As night fell, Shinji and Ymir lay down on the bed, both filled with hope and tranquility. The new stage in their lives was just beginning, and although the future was uncertain, they knew that, with the love and strength they shared, they could face anything. And with Maria by their side, their family was complete, ready for whatever tomorrow might bring.

Chapter 36: New Life

Chapter Text

Five years had passed since the birth of María, the first daughter of Shinji and Ymir, and the family’s life had blossomed in their peaceful country home. The simple life they had built together had witnessed the growth of their love and the arrival of new blessings.

It was a sunny Sunday, a perfect day to rest and enjoy nature. Shinji, who had been working hard all week, was in the field with his daughters, María and Rosa, planting some seeds they had gathered at the village fair. The small garden they had lovingly cultivated was a symbol of the home they had built, one where life grew as effortlessly as the love between them.

María, the eldest, now five years old, was a curious and energetic child. She had inherited her father’s wit and sensitivity, and her mother’s determination. Her small hands were dirty with soil as she helped Shinji dig small holes for the seeds. Beside her, Rosa, barely three years old, mimicked her older sister with a satisfied smile on her face. Her golden curls, like her mother’s, shone under the sun.

A few meters away, Ymir approached slowly, carrying in her arms their youngest daughter, Sina, barely a year old. Ymir had given her daughters names that resonated with her history and her love for Shinji. María, in honor of the daughter she lost, Rosa, for the beauty of the flowers she so admired, and Sina, a strong name that evoked her connection to the past but now symbolized a future full of hope.

Shinji, lifting his gaze from the soil, saw Ymir approaching. There was something in her walk, in the way she held their youngest daughter, that filled him with a deep sense of peace and love. In her eyes, he saw reflected all they had lived through together, the hardships they had overcome, and the family they had formed. His gaze softened, and a warm smile spread across his lips.

Ymir noticed Shinji’s gaze and returned the smile, her eyes full of serene and deep love. As she approached, Sina babbled something in her arms, waving her small hands toward her father and sisters. Ymir, with a gentle gesture, stroked her daughter’s head as she continued toward them.

When she reached Shinji, Ymir carefully knelt down, letting Sina rest on the ground next to her sisters. Shinji, without saying a word, wrapped an arm around Ymir’s waist, pulling her close in a gesture full of tenderness. The field around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the warm and comforting presence of the family they had built.

The girls continued working in the soil, laughing and playing as they tried to plant the seeds. Shinji and Ymir watched them, immersed in a tranquility that could only be found in those small moments of everyday life. They felt the weight of responsibility as parents, but also the gratitude for having each other and their daughters, who were the fruit of their love.

Ymir silently reflected on the names of her daughters. Though those names had once represented pain and loss, they now symbolized a new beginning, a life filled with love and hope. These girls were not born as a soulless prize but as the embodiment of the love she shared with Shinji, and that thought filled her heart with deep peace.

The sun began to dip below the horizon, bathing the field in a warm golden light. The girls’ laughter echoed in the air, blending with the gentle whisper of the wind through the trees. And in that moment, Shinji and Ymir knew, without the need for words, that they had found true happiness in the simple pleasures of life, surrounded by the unconditional love of their family.

This day, like so many others, would be etched in their hearts as a testament to the peace and love they had built together. As the stars began to appear in the sky, Shinji and Ymir sat together on the ground, with their daughters playing around them, knowing that, no matter what happened, they would always have this place to call home.

Chapter 37: A babysitting adventure

Chapter Text

The afternoon had fallen over the city when Mari and Asuka arrived at Shinji and Ymir’s house. Warm lights illuminated the interior while the girls, Maria, Rosa, and little Sina, played in the living room. Shinji and Ymir were about to head out for a well-deserved date night, something they hadn’t done in a long time.

—"Aunt Mari!" —shouted Maria, the eldest, running towards Mari with open arms.

—"Hello, little one!" —Mari lifted her into the air, spinning her around before hugging her tightly—. "Ready for a night of fun?"

Rosa, the middle child, approached shyly but with a big smile on her face. Mari winked at her, and the girl clung to her leg, laughing. Meanwhile, Asuka observed the scene from the door with a mix of curiosity and resignation.

—"I can't believe you talked me into this," —Asuka said, crossing her arms.

—"Come on, Asuka, isn’t it adorable?" —Mari replied, leaning towards her with a smile—. "Besides, we couldn’t let them go out without someone trustworthy to look after the girls."

Asuka huffed, but couldn’t help smiling at the scene unfolding before her. When Shinji and Ymir finally said their goodbyes and walked out the door, the girls surrounded Mari and Asuka with excitement.

—"What are we going to do first?" —asked Maria, her eyes shining with excitement.

Mari put on a thoughtful expression and then snapped her fingers as if she had a brilliant idea. —"It’s time for a talent show!"

—"Talents?" —Rosa repeated, intrigued.

—"Yes, each of you will show off your best talent, and Asuka and I will be the judges," —Mari explained, winking at Asuka, who simply shrugged, accepting the plan.

The girls ran off excitedly to prepare their “talents.” Maria, always the most energetic, decided to sing a song she had learned at school. Her voice echoed through the living room, a little off-key but full of passion. Rosa, on the other hand, displayed a drawing she had made that day, full of bright colors and figures representing her family. Even little Sina, babbling, made her best effort to imitate her sisters, moving to the rhythm of the music in her head.

Mari clapped enthusiastically, encouraging them at every step. Asuka, on the other hand, tried to maintain a serious attitude as a judge, though her façade broke more than once at the innocence and joy of the girls.

After everyone had shown their talents, Mari and Asuka decided that they were all winners and rewarded them with homemade cookies Ymir had left for the occasion. With their hands full of crumbs, the girls snuggled up on the sofa, ready for the next activity.

—"How about we watch a movie?" —Mari suggested, knowing the girls loved animated films.

—"Yes!" —the three shouted in unison, excited.

As the movie started, the girls settled around them, with Maria and Rosa cuddled up to Mari, and little Sina on Asuka’s lap. Although Asuka was initially a bit uncomfortable with Sina in her arms, the child gradually relaxed, falling asleep as the movie progressed.

—"It’s easier than I thought," —murmured Asuka, watching Sina sleep peacefully.

Mari smiled but said nothing. She knew Asuka had a soft side, though she hid it well. As the movie continued, the girls slowly succumbed to sleep. One by one, they drifted off, wrapped in the soft blankets Mari had brought from the bedroom.

Finally, when the movie ended, Mari and Asuka found themselves in a quiet living room, surrounded by the soft breaths of the sleeping girls.

—"Well, looks like we made it," —Mari said quietly, looking at Asuka with a satisfied smile.

—"Yeah, and without any major problems," —Asuka admitted, stretching on the sofa.

Carefully, they both got up and carried the girls to their beds. Mari tucked Maria and Rosa into their room, while Asuka placed Sina in her crib, making sure she was warmly covered. Then, the two sat in the living room, enjoying the silence and a moment of calm before Shinji and Ymir returned.

—"It wasn’t so bad," —Asuka said, breaking the silence—. "Though I have to admit, I’m exhausted."

Mari laughed softly. —"Welcome to the world of babysitting. But you know, seeing them so happy... it’s worth it."

Asuka nodded, looking out the window at the peaceful night. —"Yeah, I guess you’re right."

When Shinji and Ymir returned, they found the house in deep silence. The girls were sleeping soundly in their beds, and Mari and Asuka were waiting for them in the living room, relaxed.

—"How did everything go?" —Ymir asked in a low voice, not wanting to wake the girls.

—"Everything was perfect," —Mari responded, getting up to hug her friend—. "And we have three future stars in the family."

Asuka simply nodded, smiling tiredly. —"It was a good night."

After saying their goodbyes, Mari and Asuka left, leaving Shinji and Ymir alone in their quiet house. The girls slept deeply, and the night faded into a soft whisper of peace.

As Shinji and Ymir prepared for bed, they looked at each other and smiled, knowing that, although life could be chaotic and demanding, they would always have these moments, small but significant, that made everything worthwhile.

Chapter 38: the joy of being parents

Chapter Text

The morning had begun like any other at the Ikari household. The sun peeked through the windows, filling the rooms with a warm golden light that heralded a new day. However, for Shinji and Ymir, the mornings were always full of life long before the first rays of sun appeared.

The laughter and voices of their daughters already echoed throughout the house. Maria led the small troop with her boundless energy, while Rosa followed her with admiration. Sina, the youngest, watched everything from her crib, babbling happily while waving her little hands toward her sisters.

Shinji was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. Though the days could be hectic, he enjoyed these quiet morning moments when he could focus on making something special for his family. He was finishing up the pancakes, the girls' favorite food, when he felt a little tug on his pants.

—"Dad, Dad! Can we put honey on the pancakes?" —Maria asked with a mischievous smile, already knowing the answer.

Shinji knelt down to her level and returned the smile. —"Of course, but only a little, okay?"

Maria nodded enthusiastically before running back to the dining room, where Rosa was already waiting with the utensils in hand, ready to start eating. Shinji brought the plates to the table, making sure to cut the pancakes into small pieces so Rosa could eat them easily.

As the girls began to eat breakfast, Ymir entered the kitchen with Sina in her arms, smiling as she saw her daughters so happy. She approached Shinji, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek before sitting Sina in her high chair.

—"It smells delicious," —she said, pouring herself a cup of coffee—. "Did you sleep well?"

Shinji nodded, though the smile on his face was a bit tired. —"Well enough. Sina woke up a couple of times last night, but it wasn’t anything serious."

Ymir gently stroked his arm in a supportive gesture. They knew that although the nights were sometimes long, the time they spent with their daughters made it all worth it. As Shinji sat down to have breakfast with them, Ymir focused on feeding Sina, who sometimes played more with the food than she ate, but still, every attempt to bring the spoon to her mouth was a celebrated achievement.

After breakfast, the family divided into their usual tasks. Shinji took the girls to the garden, where they could run and play freely. Maria and Rosa took turns pushing Sina in her little swing, while Shinji watched them closely, ready to step in if anything went wrong, but allowing them to explore and enjoy their time outdoors.

Ymir, for her part, took the opportunity to tidy up the house a bit. She knew that keeping everything in order with three little girls was a challenge, but she also found peace in the small household tasks, knowing they were building a safe and loving environment for their daughters. After making sure everything was in place, she went outside to join her family.

—"How are my girls?" —she asked with a smile as she approached them.

—"Mom, Mom!" —Rosa shouted as she ran towards her, hugging her tightly—. "We're playing hide and seek!"

Ymir knelt to hug her daughter and then looked at Shinji with an amused expression. —"Are you playing with Dad?"

—"Yes, but Dad isn’t as good at hiding as we are," —Maria said, laughing as she hid behind a bush.

Shinji shrugged, smiling. —"It’s hard to compete with you two."

Ymir laughed as Shinji joined the girls in their game, hiding and seeking amid laughter and shouts of excitement. The happiness on her daughters’ faces filled Ymir with an indescribable warmth. Sometimes, just being together, enjoying these moments, was all she needed to feel complete.

The day continued with games, laughter, and a small nap for Sina while the other girls entertained themselves with their toys. Shinji and Ymir worked as a team, as they always did, taking care of their daughters and ensuring everyone was well. There were moments of exhaustion, but there was also deep joy in every smile and laugh from their daughters.

As the sun began to set, Ymir prepared dinner while Shinji read a story to the girls in the living room. The little voices blended with his as they imagined themselves in worlds of fantasy, full of adventures and brave heroes. It was a ritual that helped them relax before bed, and for Shinji, it was a special moment he shared only with them.

Finally, after dinner and bath time, it was time to put the girls to bed. One by one, Shinji and Ymir took them to their beds, tucking them in lovingly and giving them a goodnight kiss. Maria always insisted on reading a bit more before sleeping, while Rosa cuddled up with her favorite stuffed animal. Sina fell asleep almost instantly, feeling safe and loved in her mother’s arms.

With the girls finally asleep, Shinji and Ymir found themselves in the living room again, enjoying the silence that fell over the house. They sat together on the sofa, exhausted but happy, knowing they had spent another day full of love and joy.

—"Today was a good day," —Shinji said, looking at Ymir with a smile.

—"Yes, it was," —Ymir replied, resting her head on his shoulder—. "Sometimes it’s exhausting, but I wouldn’t trade this for anything."

Shinji embraced her tenderly, kissing her forehead. —"Neither would I. They are our life, and there’s nothing more important."

And so, in the tranquility of the night, Shinji and Ymir remained together, enjoying those precious moments of peace after a day filled with the wonderful madness of being parents. They knew that although each day brought its own challenges, it was also full of a happiness that only the love for their daughters could bring them.

Chapter 39: Night of passion

Chapter Text

Night was falling over the house, enveloping everything in a soft gloom. The girls slept peacefully in their beds, leaving Shinji and Ymir a rare moment of peace just for themselves. After a day full of activity, Ymir felt a strange energy running through her body, a latent desire that had been present since morning and that now, being alone with her husband, was beginning to intensify.
Shinji entered the room wrapped in a towel, his torso still damp from the recent shower. Steam continued to escape from the half-open bathroom door, adding a touch of humidity to the air. Ymir, already in bed, couldn't help but run her gaze over every line and curve of Shinji's body. There was something in the stillness of the night, in the soft light that barely illuminated his figure, that ignited a burning desire inside her.

"Come here," Ymir said in a whisper, her voice full of need.

Shinji, sensing the tone in her voice, moved closer to the bed, his eyes locked on Ymir's. Without a word, he dropped the towel to the floor, revealing his completely naked body. Ymir felt a shiver of anticipation, her skin prickling at the sight of him like that, so close, so accessible.

She sat up slightly, her fingers gently brushing Shinji's abdomen, feeling the firmness of his muscles beneath her fingertips. Each caress was a fire that further ignited her desire. Without taking her gaze off of him, Ymir removed her own clothes, letting the fabric slowly fall, until her skin was exposed to the cool air of the room.

Shinji, feeling the firmness of his muscles beneath her fingertips. Each caress was a fire that further ignited her desire. Without taking her gaze off of him, Ymir removed her own clothes, letting the fabric slowly fall, until her skin was exposed to the cool air of the room.

Shinji looked at her with a mix of adoration and desire, his hands tracing a path from her shoulders to her hips, taking his time to memorize every curve, every detail. Ymir couldn't help but let out a soft moan as his fingers brushed her breasts, now more sensitive due to breastfeeding. She felt a heady combination of pleasure and need, an urgency that only he could satisfy.

Shinji leaned into her, his lips brushing her neck, placing soft kisses that sent waves of pleasure across her skin. Ymir arched her back, moving closer to him, seeking the contact of his body. The feeling of his heat, his skin against hers, was almost overwhelming.

"Shinji..." she whispered his name, her voice cracking with desire.

He responded with a deep kiss, capturing her lips with a passion that mirrored the fire that burned within them both. His hands ran down her back, tracing soft lines that sent shivers down her skin. Ymir felt her nipples, hardened by arousal, brush against Shinji's chest, intensifying the sensations coursing through her body.

Slowly, Shinji guided her to the bed, gently laying her down on the sheets. Ymir looked into his eyes, seeing in them the same desire that consumed her. He settled on top of her, their bodies aligning perfectly. Feeling the weight of his body on hers made her shudder with pleasure.

Ymir's moans became louder as Shinji began to move slowly, his hips finding a rhythm that brought them together in a back and forth motion of pleasure. The feeling of his body inside her, filling her completely, was an indescribable pleasure. Her hands gripped his shoulders, her nails leaving soft marks on his skin as her moans filled the air.

"Don't stop..." Ymir begged, her hips moving in unison with Shinji's.

Each movement brought them to a higher point of pleasure, their breaths coming in ragged gasps, their bodies becoming one in the darkness of the room. Ymir could feel every pulse, every movement inside her, intensifying the pleasure with each passing second.

The heat between them grew, fueled by the desire and passion they felt for each other. Ymir’s moans mixed with Shinji’s, forming a symphony of pleasure that filled the room. Her hands clung to his back, pulling him closer to her, seeking more contact, more intensity.

Finally, as they both reached their climax, Ymir felt a wave of pleasure course through her body, a climax that left her shaking with satisfaction under Shinji’s weight. He followed soon after, his body tensing as the pleasure engulfed him completely. They stood there, joined together, breathing heavily as the euphoria of the moment slowly faded.

Ymir hugged him tightly, feeling their hearts beat in unison, their bodies still shaking from the intensity of what they had just shared. Shinji looked at her, his eyes filled with love and devotion, and kissed her softly on the lips.

“I love you, Ymir,” he whispered, his voice soft and full of sincerity.

Ymir smiled, her fingers gently caressing Shinji’s cheek. “And I love you, Shinji. More than you can imagine.”

And so, in the intimacy of the night, they stayed together, holding each other, enjoying the tranquility and love they could only find in each other’s arms. The night moved slowly, but for them, time seemed to stop in that moment of pure connection and satisfied desire.

Chapter 40: after the Passion

Chapter Text

The first light of the day began to filter through the curtains, softly illuminating the room where Shinji and Ymir were embraced. The previous night had been intense, full of passion and connection, and now they were both enveloped in a warm tranquility, enjoying each other's body heat. Shinji was still holding Ymir, his breathing slow and calm, while she rested her head on his chest, listening to the beats of his heart.

The distant sound of the girls starting to wake reminded them that their peaceful haven wouldn’t last long. Ymir sighed, savoring the last moments of tranquility before the bustle of the day began.

After the night they had shared, the day began with the usual morning rush. The girls were running around the house, filling it with laughter and energy. As Shinji prepared breakfast, Ymir took care of dressing the little ones and making sure everything was in order. But there was something different in the atmosphere; the intimacy of the previous night lingered, a silent reminder of the love they shared.

As the sun climbed higher, Shinji glanced at the clock and realized he would soon need to leave for work. Ymir noticed the expression on his face and moved closer to give him a soft kiss on the cheek. “Don’t be late, love,” she whispered.

Shinji smiled, but there was a slight worry in his eyes. “I won’t,” he replied, though he knew the day at the office would be long and challenging.

Shinji worked at a technology company, where he had recently been promoted to a higher responsibility position. This demanded more time and effort, something that sometimes conflicted with his desire to spend more time with Ymir and their daughters. That morning, as he finished his breakfast and got ready to leave, his mind was divided between the work awaiting him and the warm memory of the previous night.

Upon arriving at the office, Shinji was greeted by a sea of emails and a schedule packed with meetings. The project he was working on required all his attention, and he knew he would face some technical challenges and important decisions.

During one of the meetings, his phone vibrated softly in his pocket. After it ended, he took it out and saw a message from Ymir: “The girls are already playing in the garden. I hope everything is going well at work. I miss you.”

The warmth of her words gave him a brief respite amid the day’s stress.

Meanwhile, at home, Ymir was enjoying a quiet moment with the girls. However, while they were setting up a game in the living room, Rosa, with her innate curiosity, approached her mother and asked, “Mom, what were those noises last night in your room? Were you crying?”

Ymir, slightly surprised by the question, tried to keep her composure. “No, sweetheart,” she said with a gentle smile. “Daddy and I were just talking.”

Maria, who had overheard the conversation, looked at her mother with an inquisitive expression. “It sounded like you were crying, Mom.”

Ymir let out a small nervous laugh. “Don’t worry, I was just... very happy.” With those words, she steered the conversation towards the game they were about to start, but couldn’t help feeling a slight blush on her cheeks.

When Shinji returned from work that evening, exhausted but satisfied with what he had accomplished, he was greeted by Ymir’s warm embrace and the laughter of their daughters. Despite the fatigue, he couldn’t help but feel that it was all worth it when he saw the smiles on his family’s faces.

During dinner, Ymir told Shinji about Rosa’s curious question, which led to a shared laugh between them. “Looks like we’ll have to be more careful,” Shinji joked, though there was a tone of affection in his words.

After putting the girls to bed and making sure everything was in order, Shinji and Ymir found themselves alone again, with the house in silence. Shinji, still dressed in his work clothes, sank into the sofa with a sigh of relief.

Ymir, sitting beside him, looked at him with a mix of admiration and desire. “I know today was a long day,” she said while gently caressing his hair. “But I want you to know how much I appreciate everything you do for us.”

Shinji looked at her and smiled, feeling the stress of the day dissipate. “I do it because I love you,” he responded sincerely.

With a gentle movement, Ymir leaned in and kissed him, initiating an intimate and warm moment that, though less passionate than the previous night, was filled with love and gratitude. It was a reminder that, no matter how difficult the days were, they would always find comfort in each other’s arms.

Chapter 41: a special visit

Chapter Text

It was a quiet Sunday at Shinji and Ymir’s country house. Mornings in their home always began in a relaxed way, with the girls waking up with laughter and energy, while their parents prepared breakfast. However, this day would be special, as Aunt Mari had promised to visit them.

Mari arrived with her usual vitality, loaded with gifts and surprises for the girls. She always found a way to liven up the house, and the girls adored her presence. As soon as she crossed the door, Maria and Rosa ran toward her, excited to see what she had brought this time.

“Aunt Mari!” they shouted, surrounding her with hugs.

“My little ones!” Mari responded, smiling widely as she crouched down to their level. “I brought you something special.”

She pulled out a couple of handmade dolls from her bag, with colorful outfits and intricate details. Maria and Rosa were delighted, while little Sina watched with curiosity from Ymir’s arms.

Shinji watched from the kitchen, smiling at the scene. Mari always knew how to make their daughters feel special, and he was grateful to have her in their lives. As he served breakfast, Ymir approached him with Sina in her arms.

“It’s nice to have her here,” Ymir said softly, resting her head on Shinji’s shoulder as they watched Mari play with the girls.

“Yes, it is,” Shinji replied, wrapping an arm around her. “She always brings joy to the house.”

After breakfast, Mari offered to take the girls to the garden to play while Shinji and Ymir finished tidying up the kitchen. With Mari’s characteristic energy, she organized a small treasure hunt in the garden, keeping the girls entertained while their parents enjoyed a moment of tranquility.

As they cleared the table, Ymir looked at Shinji, a soft smile on her lips.

“Do you realize how much our life has changed?” she said quietly, almost as if speaking to herself.

Shinji nodded, fully understanding what she meant. From their first meeting to the life they had built together, it had been a journey full of challenges but also moments of deep love and gratitude. And now, with their daughters and the support of friends like Mari, they felt they had everything they could wish for.

Later, as the sun began to set and the girls were exhausted from playing, Mari helped prepare dinner. Shinji and Ymir enjoyed the controlled chaos that Mari brought into their lives, laughing and joking as they cooked together. By the end of the night, after bathing and putting the girls to bed, the three adults sat in the living room, reminiscing about old times and talking about the future.

“You know, Shinji,” Mari said as she reclined on the sofa, “you’re lucky to have such a beautiful family. Not everyone finds what you and Ymir have found.”

Shinji looked at her, his expression reflecting the deep gratitude he felt.

“I know,” he replied. “I don’t take it for granted.”

Mari smiled, taking a glass of wine and raising it in a silent toast. Ymir, sitting beside Shinji, intertwined her fingers with his, feeling the same gratitude in her heart.

As the night went on and Mari finally said her goodbyes to return to her home, Shinji and Ymir sat quietly in the living room, enjoying the calm after a day full of love and laughter. They knew that, although life as parents could be exhausting, it was also filled with moments they would treasure forever, especially when shared with someone as special as Mari.

Chapter 42: The seed of a dream

Chapter Text

Shinji was in his office, surrounded by piles of documents
and the flickering screen of his computer displaying charts and tables. It was a routine day at Kaworu's company, filled with administrative tasks and endless meetings. Despite the hustle, his mind began to wander to more personal thoughts. As he reviewed papers, his mind filled with images of his home, his family, and the moments of peace he cherished so much.

He took a breath and looked out the window of his office. From there, he observed the city, the twinkling lights of the buildings, and the bustle of life continuing beyond the walls of his work. However, instead of feeling trapped, he felt a warm sensation in his chest as he thought of Ymir and their daughters. He remembered the laughter of Maria, Rosa, and Sina; the warmth of their little hands when they played in the garden; and the quiet nights shared with Ymir, where only the two of them and the love that united them existed.

Amidst those thoughts, an idea began to take root in his mind, one that surprised him with how clear it was: what if they opened a café? He imagined a cozy place, full of natural light, with wooden tables and an atmosphere that invited relaxation. A space where he could not only enjoy his passion for cooking but also spend time with his family, creating memories together.

The idea developed throughout the day, becoming more detailed. He visualized Ymir behind the counter, with a serene smile as she served customers, and their daughters running around the place, filling the air with their laughter. Shinji couldn't help but smile at the image. It was a dream, but one that seemed increasingly possible.

As night fell, Shinji returned home. The familiar aroma of dinner greeted him at the door, and soon he was surrounded by the voices of his daughters, who ran to hug him. After dinner, he and Ymir took care of putting the girls to bed. Once the house was quiet and dark, they both retreated to their room, ready to enjoy a moment of tranquility together.

Shinji, still with the café idea on his mind, settled into bed next to Ymir. He looked into her eyes, and in a soft voice, began to share his thoughts. He told her how, during the day, he couldn’t stop thinking about how happy he was with her and the girls, and how he would love to bring that happiness into a space they could share with others.

Ymir listened attentively, her eyes reflecting curiosity and tenderness. Shinji described his vision of a café, a place that would be a reflection of their home, where every detail would speak of the love and peace they had built together. Ymir smiled, excited at the possibility. She had never considered something like this, but the idea of building something together, a business that would also be their home, seemed wonderful to her.

“What would we call it?” Ymir asked with a playful smile.

Shinji chuckled softly and suggested a few names, but they both knew that detail could wait. The important thing was that they shared a dream, one they could make a reality together. The conversation went on a little longer, with ideas about the décor, the menu, and how they could involve their daughters in managing the place.

Finally, the weariness of the day began to take effect, and Shinji and Ymir snuggled closer, letting sleep envelop them. They knew that the idea of the café was still just that, an idea, but they also knew that if they decided to go through with it, they would do it together, as they always had.

With that certainty in their hearts, they fell asleep, surrounded by the warmth of their love and with the promise of a future full of new possibilities.

Chapter 43: Shadows and whispers

Chapter Text

It was a Saturday like any other at the Ikari household, one of those days when Shinji usually dedicated himself entirely to his family. The girls were running around the living room, filling the air with their laughter and games. Ymir, sitting at the table, enjoyed a quiet moment as she watched Shinji prepare breakfast with his usual dedication.

Shinji's phone suddenly vibrated on the table, breaking the serenity of the moment. Ymir looked up, noticing the slight change in her husband's expression as he read the message. Shinji’s usual smile faded for a moment, replaced by a slight concern.

“—Is everything okay?” Ymir asked curiously as he put the phone back in his pocket.

“—Yes... it's just that Mayumi, a coworker, asked for help with an urgent project. It seems she has a tight deadline and needs us to review it together,” Shinji replied, not taking his eyes off the breakfast he was preparing.

Ymir nodded, trying to keep calm in her expression. “It's just work,” she repeated to herself mentally, convinced that there was nothing more at stake. However, the mention of that coworker, someone she was not familiar with, left her with a strange feeling in her chest.

A couple of hours later, the doorbell rang, breaking the silence of the house. Shinji hurried to open the door while Ymir stayed in the kitchen, finishing preparing the food for the girls. However, she couldn't help but direct her attention towards the entrance. She wanted to see the person who had come to interrupt their family day.

Approaching discreetly, Ymir managed to see a young woman standing at the door, smiling kindly. Shinji greeted her with a calm expression, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Ymir noticed how the girl’s smile widened when she saw him, and she felt a pang of discomfort.

“—Mayumi! Please, come in,” said Shinji, stepping aside to let her enter.

Ymir watched as the young woman entered her house, carrying a folder of documents and looking very professional. She remained silent, observing the interaction between them from a distance, while a mix of feelings stirred within her. There was no reason to worry, she told herself, but still, she felt the need to intervene, to be present and mark her territory somehow.

As they headed to the living room, Ymir moved discreetly toward the kitchen, where the girls were still playing. Although she wanted to be close to listen to the conversation, she also knew she shouldn’t show her uneasiness. But as time passed, she couldn’t help but feel a little displaced. She watched as Mayumi leaned over the documents next to Shinji, their heads almost touching as they discussed something in low voices. She saw how they laughed together, sharing little jokes that seemed to exclude her, and that discomfort began to transform into something more.

After a while, Ymir convinced herself that she had to intervene, even if only to offer them something to drink. Taking a deep breath, she headed to the living room, trying to keep a neutral expression. When she entered, she saw Shinji and Mayumi sitting on the couch, focused on the documents.

“—Can I get you something to drink?” she offered, her voice sounding calmer than she felt inside.

“—Oh, yes, please, water would be great,” Mayumi responded, looking up with a smile that seemed genuine, but to Ymir, it felt too relaxed.

Shinji thanked her with a smile, but there was no trace of the doubts that tormented Ymir in his expression. He was completely focused on the work, which only made her feel more isolated.

While preparing the drinks in the kitchen, the discomfort in her chest grew. Every laugh or comment from the living room reached her ears like an annoying whisper, reminding her of her place on the margins of that interaction. In her mind, an image began to form: Shinji at work, surrounded by women like Mayumi, young and attractive, sharing something with him that she couldn’t understand. The insecurity grew, fueled by those irrational thoughts.

Suddenly, one of the girls started crying. Ymir set aside her thoughts and rushed to tend to the little one. She picked her up in her arms, gently rocking her while trying to calm her down. But as she did, her mind returned to those dark corners. She closed her eyes and, for a moment, let herself be carried away by a distorted vision: Shinji, sitting on a throne, like a king, surrounded by women who adored him, while she remained on the sidelines, holding her daughter with a mix of sadness and frustration.

The vision hit her hard, making her tense. She remembered her past life, when she had been a slave, an object of no value to a king who had never really loved her. Now, those same feelings of worthlessness and abandonment returned with renewed force.

Ymir opened her eyes, pushing those thoughts out of her mind with difficulty. “This isn’t real,” she told herself, looking at her daughter, who had stopped crying. “Shinji isn’t like that.”

At lunchtime, Shinji decided to cook for everyone. While preparing the ingredients, Mayumi offered to help, something he accepted naturally. Ymir, from a distance, watched how they worked together in the kitchen, moving with a synchronization that made her feel, once again, that her place was being taken by someone else.

During lunch, Ymir barely touched her food. Her mind was elsewhere, trapped between irrational fears and the reality she was trying to hold onto. Shinji, unaware of her internal struggles, continued chatting with Mayumi, thanking her for the help and assuring her that the project would be finished on time.

Finally, after a long while, Mayumi said her goodbyes, thanking the family for their hospitality.

“—It was a pleasure meeting you, Ymir. You have a beautiful family,” Mayumi said, with a sincere smile before leaving.

When the door closed behind her, Ymir remained silent, trying to process everything she had felt throughout the day. She wanted to speak, to express what had tormented her, but the words seemed stuck in her throat. Before she could say anything, Shinji approached her, wrapping her in his arms and kissing her softly on the lips.

“—I noticed your jealousy, Ymir,” Shinji whispered, his words full of understanding and tenderness.

Ymir stood still, surprised that he had noticed so easily. She felt a mix of relief and embarrassment for being so transparent.

“—I didn’t want to feel this way...” she murmured, looking away while holding onto her daughter.

Shinji gently took her chin, making her look him in the eyes.

“—You have nothing to worry about, Ymir. You’re the only one for me. No one else compares to you,” he said with a sincerity that completely disarmed her.

Ymir looked at him, feeling her fears and insecurities start to fade away in the warmth of his words.

“—I’m sorry, it’s just that... sometimes I feel so vulnerable.”

Shinji gave her a soft smile, gently caressing her cheek with tenderness.

“—And that’s okay. But I’ll always be here to remind you how much I love you and how much you mean to me. There’s nothing and no one that can change that.”

Ymir let Shinji’s words envelop her, feeling the tranquility return to her heart. She knew that sometimes the ghosts of the past and the insecurities of the present could be overwhelming, but as long as they were together, they would always find a way to face them.

As Ymir rested her head on Shinji’s chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart, she allowed herself a small sigh of relief. No matter how dark the thoughts that occasionally assaulted her were; as long as she was with him, she would always find the light to dispel them.

Chapter 44: under the protective sun

Chapter Text

The sun shone brightly on the beach, while the sound of the waves created a peaceful atmosphere that enveloped the family. Ymir already knew the beach, but this was the first time they had brought their daughters, and the excitement on their little faces was evident. Shinji had planned this outing to give his daughters a special day and Ymir a much-needed break from the daily routine.

The girls ran towards the water, their laughter echoing in the air. Rosa and Mari, the older ones, splashed near the shore under the watchful eye of Shinji, who helped them hold on when the waves came. Ymir, meanwhile, was sitting on the sand next to Mari, the aunt, looking after little Sina, who was still too young to join her sisters in the water.

“They are so happy,” Mari commented, smiling as she watched the girls play. “It’s a perfect day.”

Ymir nodded, but her mind was elsewhere. Even though the beach was a place of peace for her, she couldn't help but feel a little anxious. There was something in the air, a feeling she couldn't explain. Still, she tried to relax and enjoy the day.

"I'm going to buy ice cream for everyone," Ymir said, getting up carefully so as not to wake Sina, who had fallen asleep on her lap.

Mari nodded and offered to take care of the little girl while Ymir headed to the ice cream stand. The walk allowed her to clear her mind, concentrating on the sound of the sea and the feel of the sand under her feet.

When she arrived at the ice cream stand, she ordered three ice creams, one for herself, one for Mari, and one for Sina. While she waited for the vendor to prepare them, a young man approached her. The way he looked at her made her instantly uncomfortable.

"Hello, gorgeous. First time at the beach?" he asked, leaning slightly towards her with a smile she didn't like at all.

Ymir tried to ignore him, but the man insisted.

“How about I buy you something to drink?” he said, moving a little closer.

Ymir felt a chill. She didn’t want to talk to him, but she didn’t want to be rude either. However, when the man tried to place a hand on her arm, she instinctively stepped back.

“No, thank you,” she replied, hoping he would give up.

But the man didn’t. His hand moved down to brush the skin exposed by Ymir’s bikini, caressing her side in a daring way. Ymir froze, unable to move. Her mind filled with images of her past, of the times when she had been treated like an object, and anguish began to invade her.

The man’s hand continued its path, sliding down Ymir’s hip, while she found herself caught in a whirlwind of emotions. In her mind, the images distorted, and she saw herself surrounded by men, vulnerable and helpless, like in the worst moments of her past. She felt like she was short of air, her breathing became labored, and her heart was pounding in her chest.

In the midst of that darkness, Shinji's presence appeared like a beacon of light. He came to her side silently, but his protective aura was immediately felt. With an apparent calm that hid his fury, Shinji placed a firm hand on Ymir's back, pulling her closer to him. Then, in a gesture that mixed possession and care, he slid his other hand under Ymir's bikini, caressing her hip with a softness that contrasted deeply with the invasion she had just experienced.

"Is there a problem?" Shinji asked, his voice low but loaded with a clear warning.

The man froze upon seeing Shinji's expression, immediately understanding that he had crossed a dangerous line. With a nervous gesture, she raised her hands in surrender and stepped back.

“No, nothing at all. I didn’t mean to disturb. Excuse me,” she said quickly before hurrying away, not daring to look back.

Ymir let out a shaky sigh, leaning into Shinji as he held her tightly. She felt the warmth of his body, his familiar scent, and it anchored her back to reality. Although her stomach still knotted, knowing Shinji was there to protect her made her feel safer.

“I’m always here for you, Ymir. No one will hurt you as long as I’m with you,” Shinji whispered in her ear, his voice full of promises she knew he would keep.

Ymir closed her eyes and took a deep breath, allowing calm to return to her. Shinji remained by her side, his constant presence reminding her that she was no longer alone. After a few moments, Ymir managed to smile at Shinji, although her hands still shook a little.

“Thank you…” she whispered, her voice barely a murmur.

Shinji stroked her hair tenderly before kissing her forehead.

“Come on, the girls are waiting for their ice cream.”

Ymir nodded, and together they took the ice cream and returned to where Mari and Sina were waiting for them. When they arrived, Mari noticed something strange on Ymir’s face, but decided not to ask. She just smiled at them and thanked them for the ice cream Ymir handed her.

The rest of the day passed more peacefully. Rosa and Mari continued to play in the water, while Shinji and Ymir sat together on the sand, watching their daughters and enjoying the simple pleasure of being together. Ymir leaned on Shinji’s shoulder, still feeling the protection and love he offered her. Every time she watched her daughters laugh and play, the uneasiness she had felt faded a little more, replaced by a warmth that only the presence of her family could give her.

As the sun began to descend over the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, Ymir realized how lucky she was. Her life, which had once been filled with darkness and pain, was now filled with light and love. Shinji had saved her once again, not just from the man on the beach, but from the ghosts of her past that sometimes tried to claim her.

“I love you, Shinji,” she said quietly, but with a deep sincerity that resonated in her heart.

Shinji looked at her and smiled, squeezing her hand gently.

“And I love you, Ymir. I always will.”

And so, with the sea breeze caressing their faces and the sound of the waves as a background, the family enjoyed the end of their day at the beach, closer than ever. Although the incident had been upsetting, it also reminded them of what was truly important: the love and protection they gave each other. And with that in mind, Ymir knew that no matter what the future held for them, they would face it together, as they always had.

Chapter 45: A new routine

Chapter Text

Life in the countryside had been peaceful and calm for Shinji, Ymir, and their daughters, but over time, the house had begun to feel too small for their growing family. The girls' laughter and games echoed through every corner, and the summer nights, though serene, had started to feel warmer than usual. Additionally, Shinji had begun dreaming of opening his own business, which required being closer to the city to facilitate connections and opportunities.

After much debate and planning, Shinji and Ymir decided it was the right time for a change. Moving to the city would not only allow Shinji to take the first step toward his business dream but would also provide the girls with a more suitable environment to grow up in.

The day of the move arrived, and the house in the countryside was filled with boxes and packed furniture. Maria, the eldest at five, and Rosa, three, were excited and curious about the change, while Sina, the youngest at just one year old, watched everyone with wide, curious eyes. Ymir, though she felt a certain nostalgia for the serenity of the countryside, was excited to return to the stage where this story had begun. Shinji, for his part, was focused on making sure everything went smoothly.

“Dad, why are we moving to the city?” asked Rosa, helping pack some toys.

Shinji smiled as he moved a heavy box. “Well, Rosa, the city has a lot of exciting things, and besides, dad is starting a new project. The house in the countryside was getting a little too small for all of us.”

Mari, who had decided to help with the move, crouched down to talk to the girls. “The city has lots of fun things and new places to explore. You’ll also be able to make more friends and participate in exciting activities.”

Sina, though she didn’t fully understand the reason for the move, was fascinated by the hustle and bustle. As the moving truck filled with boxes, Shinji and Ymir took a moment to look at the empty house that had been their home for the past few years.

“It’s a new beginning,” said Ymir, taking Shinji’s hand. “I feel a little sad leaving this place, but I’m excited for what’s to come.”

Shinji gently squeezed her hand. “So am I. The important thing is that we’re in this together, and we’ll make it work.”

Finally, the truck departed for the city, and the family settled into their new home. The new house was bigger and more comfortable than the previous one, situated in an area closer to the girls' school and Shinji’s work locations. The move brought with it a sense of freshness and new beginnings.

The first few days in the city were busy and full of activity. Ymir and the girls began exploring the neighborhood and getting familiar with their new surroundings. Meanwhile, Shinji was focused on adjusting the details of his new business, visiting potential locations, and establishing contacts.

“Mama, can we go to the park after school?” Maria asked one day, excited about the new possibilities.

“Of course, honey,” Ymir replied with a smile while preparing lunch. “There are many parks here, so we’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore.”

Meanwhile, Shinji was in a meeting with a real estate agent, discussing the ideal location for his business. The conversation was full of possibilities and plans, and Shinji was determined to make his dream a reality.

“I want this business to be something we can build for the future of our family,” Shinji said, his voice filled with determination. “I want my daughters to have a home and a life where they feel safe and happy.”

The agent nodded, understanding the importance of this new project for Shinji. “I’m sure we’ll find the right place. We just need a little time to find the best option.”

That night, after a busy day, the family gathered for dinner in the new house. The kitchen was still cluttered with boxes and utensils, but the atmosphere was filled with laughter and lively conversation.

“Today has been a long day,” said Ymir, serving dinner. “But I’m happy to be here with all of you.”

Shinji took a moment to look at his family, feeling deep gratitude and satisfaction. “I’m happy to be here too. This is the start of something new and exciting, and I’m glad to share it with all of you.”

The girls, excited about their new rooms and the surroundings, went to bed early, eager to explore more the next day. Shinji and Ymir stayed up for a while in the living room, talking about the future and their dreams for the family.

“I feel like this change will bring us many good things,” said Ymir, looking at Shinji lovingly.

“I believe that too,” Shinji replied. “We have a new home, a new beginning, and most importantly, we have each other.”

With a sense of hope and excitement, Shinji and Ymir prepared to face the challenges and joys that their new life in the city would bring. Although the move had been a big change, they were ready for whatever came next, knowing they would face it together as a united family.

Chapter 46: A new dawn

Chapter Text

The morning began with the soft light of dawn filtering through the windows, flooding the house with a warm and welcoming glow. María and Rosa were already awake, full of energy as they finished their breakfast. Shinji, who had woken up earlier to prepare everything, made sure the backpacks were ready and that the girls had everything they needed for the day.

Ymir, still sleepy, watched the scene from the kitchen doorway with Sina in her arms, enjoying the tranquility this new routine brought them. As Shinji helped the girls with their coats, he approached Ymir and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Today seems like a good day to start something new," Shinji commented, his tone filled with optimism.

Ymir nodded, giving him a warm smile. "It is. I'm sure they'll do well at school, and you will too at work."

Shinji walked the girls to the car, and as they drove away from the house, Ymir waved them off with a soft smile from the door, with little Sina snuggled in her arms. During the ride to school, the car was filled with laughter and lively conversations, with the girls sharing their thoughts about what they expected from the day.

“Dad, do you think one day we can all go to work with you?” Rosa asked, her voice filled with curiosity as she looked at Shinji from the back seat.

Shinji smiled as he considered the possibility. “Maybe one day, when you’re a bit older. You could help me design things for the business, or maybe even invent something new.”

María, always full of enthusiasm, leaned forward. “I want to make something that everyone can use! Something that’s useful and makes people happy.”

"That's a wonderful idea," Shinji replied, feeling proud of his daughters' dreams. "Whatever you do, it will always be special."

When they arrived at school, Shinji helped the girls out of the car and handed them their backpacks. He crouched down to their level, making sure they were ready for the day ahead.

"Remember to be kind to your friends and pay attention to your teachers," he said, his voice gentle but firm.

“We will, Dad!” María replied, giving him a quick hug before running toward the entrance.

Rosa, as usual, lingered a moment longer, hugging her father tightly. “I love you so much, Dad.”

Shinji felt his heart fill with warmth at his daughter's words. “I love you too, Rosa. Have a great day at school.”

After saying goodbye to his daughters, Shinji watched as they joined the group of children at the entrance, their backpacks bouncing as they ran. Seeing them like that, happy and safe, gave him a sense of peace he had never known before.

As he got back into the car, he couldn’t help but think of Ymir and how they had built this life together. Every morning was a reminder that, though their pasts had been filled with challenges, they now lived in a place where love and stability reigned.

Chapter 47: Ymir's Domain

Chapter Text

It was a warm, quiet evening when Shinji arrived home earlier than usual. The sun was just beginning to set on the horizon, bathing the house in a golden light that accentuated the calmness of the home. As he entered, a delicious aroma greeted him, along with the unmistakable sound of something cooking in the kitchen.

As he walked towards the source of the sound, what Shinji found took his breath away. There was Ymir, standing in front of the stove, but not as he had seen her before. She was completely naked, save for a red apron that barely covered her breasts and her privates. Her long, shapely legs, her firm, curvy ass, everything was exposed, creating an image so provocative that Shinji felt his heart pound.

Ymir slowly turned around, a mischievous smile on her lips and a spark of desire in her eyes as she noticed Shinji's presence.

“You’re early,” she said softly, as she took a step towards him, her eyes locked on Shinji’s.

He couldn’t respond immediately, his gaze traveling between Ymir’s eyes and the exposed curves of her body. The confidence and control she projected enveloped him, leaving him in a mix of awe and desire.

Without giving him time to react, Ymir reached out and grabbed his hand, pulling him towards the kitchen with a gentle but determined force. She pushed him against the table, leaning over him, and captured his lips in a kiss that started slow, but quickly became intense and passionate.

Shinji moaned against her lips, his body instinctively reacting to the contact. Ymir’s hands moved with precision over him, unbuttoning his shirt swiftly, her fingers sliding across his exposed skin, sending a rush of heat through his entire being.

“I’m in charge today,” Ymir whispered into his ear, her tone brooking no argument.

With agile, determined movements, Ymir began to pull down Shinji’s pants, letting them fall to the floor along with his underwear. The feeling of her naked body against his was overwhelming, and Shinji could barely contain the desire swirling within him.

Before he could respond, Ymir guided him to the edge of the table and gently pushed him, causing him to sit down. Her firm hands rested on his thighs, parting them slightly. Then, she leaned down, her lips brushing the sensitive skin of his abdomen, slowly moving down until she reached his crotch.

Shinji shivered as he felt the warmth of her breath so close to their intimacy. Ymir looked into his eyes, her expression a mix of desire and dominance, before leaning forward and capturing his member in her mouth. She began a slow rhythm, her lips and tongue exploring every part of him with a mix of softness and firmness.

Shinji’s moans filled the room as Ymir continued, gradually increasing the pace, enveloping his member with her mouth and hand. The sensation was exquisite, a combination of pleasure and surrender that left him completely at her mercy.

As Shinji felt the pleasure nearing its peak, Ymir stopped, releasing him from her mouth with one last soft kiss on the tip of his member. She slowly stood up, smiling as she watched the desire swirl in Shinji’s eyes.

“Not so fast,” she said with a playful smile, as she took his hand and led him out of the kitchen and into the living room.

The journey was short, but the anticipation grew with each step. Reaching the living room, Ymir gently pushed him onto the couch, forcing him to sit down. She straddled him, her legs on either side of his body, and took control of the situation.

Shinji looked at her with a mix of wonder and desire as Ymir adjusted her position, making sure they were both comfortable. The feeling of his naked body against hers was almost unbearable, a combination of warmth and desire that made him want her even more.

Ymir looked into his eyes, and with a slow but sure movement, she guided his member inside her, letting out a deep sigh as she felt him enter her. The feeling of being so connected, so intimately joined, had them both moaning in pleasure.

Ymir began to move, slowly and deliberately, teasing every inch of him as his body met hers. Every movement was filled with desire and dominance, and Shinji could do nothing but let himself go, surrendering to the intensity of the moment.

Ymir's soft moans filled the room as she increased her pace, enjoying the way Shinji's body responded to hers. Her hands held him firmly, and her lips moved across his neck and shoulders, leaving a trail of heated kisses.

As the pleasure built, Ymir took complete control, adjusting the pace and depth of her movements until they were both on the brink of climax. Shinji held onto her, his breathing heavy and his body shaking under the weight of anticipation.

Finally, with one last deep thrust, Shinji felt the pleasure overtake him, and with a deep groan, he released inside her. Ymir felt it too, her body responding to his as they both climaxed together.

The heat of his release filled Ymir's insides, and she let out a low, satisfied moan as she felt Shinji's cum fill her, the warmth flooding her womb. They stayed like that for a moment, immersed in the feeling of completeness and intimacy of the moment.

Ymir shifted slightly, feeling the semen begin to leak from her body, a tangible reminder of the connection they had just shared. With a soft smile, she leaned forward and kissed Shinji on the lips, their bodies still joined together as they enjoyed the calm that followed climax.

“I love you, Shinji,” she whispered, as the world around them faded away, leaving only the feeling of her love and the warmth of her body to envelop them in the tranquility of their home.

Chapter 48: NEW LIVES

Chapter Text

The afternoon sun filtered its rays through the trees in the park, creating warm patches of light on the ground. The air was filled with the sound of children's laughter and the songs of birds. María, Rosa, and Sina were in the park with their mother, Ymir, who had decided to take them out to enjoy a day outdoors.

María, the eldest, was five years old and full of energy. She ran ahead toward the swing, while Rosa, three years old, followed closely behind, trying to imitate her every move. Sina, still a baby at just one year old, was in her stroller, observing the world with curiosity.

“Mom, look!” María shouted as she climbed onto the swing with Ymir's help. “I’m going to fly high!”

Ymir smiled as she pushed the swing. Rosa, with her contagious laugh, was trying to balance on the smaller swing, while Sina stretched her arms toward her, as if she wanted to join the game.

“Rosa, come here!” María exclaimed. “I can push you too!”

Rosa quickly reached the smaller swing, and with her older sister's help, she was soon swinging while Ymir pushed her gently.

“This is so much fun!” Rosa shouted with joy. “Thanks, María!”

María smiled, satisfied, enjoying the shared moment of happiness with her sister. Meanwhile, Sina continued watching, fascinated by the movement and the hustle around her. Ymir approached Sina’s stroller and handed her a small toy to keep her entertained.

“Look, Sina,” Ymir said. “This is a new toy I bought for you. Do you like it?”

Sina took the toy in her tiny hands and began playing with it, making happy sounds. Ymir felt content seeing her daughters so happy and enjoying the day at the park.

After a while, Ymir pulled out a blanket from the stroller and spread it on the grass. She prepared a simple snack with sandwiches and juice for her daughters. María and Rosa eagerly sat on the blanket while Sina crawled toward them, attracted by the food.

“Mom, this is delicious!” María said, biting into a piece of fruit. “Thank you!”

Ymir sat next to her and began feeding Sina some fruit puree. While the girls enjoyed their snack, Ymir peacefully observed the surroundings. It was a perfect day to enjoy as a family, and the park offered an ideal place for her daughters to play and explore.

“Mom, can we go to the slide after?” María asked excitedly. “I want to see who can go down faster!”

“Yes, of course!” Ymir replied. “After you finish your snack, we’ll go to the slide.”

Rosa nodded enthusiastically, and Sina looked at her sisters with interest, waving her little hands toward the food. Ymir felt fortunate to have these moments with her daughters, moments that had now become an important part of her life.

While the girls continued eating, Ymir took the opportunity to snap some photos of her daughters enjoying the day. She captured María and Rosa’s radiant smiles, and Sina’s curious expression as she discovered the world in her own way. She knew these memories would be precious in the future.

Finally, after the snack was over, Ymir helped her daughters up and guided them toward the play area. María ran to the slide, with Rosa following behind, while Ymir slowly moved with Sina toward the play area.

María climbed the slide excitedly, while Rosa watched from below, waiting for her turn. Ymir stayed nearby, making sure everything was fine and her daughters were safe as they played.

“Mom, come here!” María shouted from the top of the slide. “Watch me go down!”

Ymir smiled and approached the slide, ready to help María when she came down. Rosa was impatient for her turn, and Sina was fascinated by the spectacle.

“I’m going!” María shouted as she launched herself down the slide, laughing and screaming with joy.

Rosa watched her go down with a smile, and when María finished, Rosa hurried up the slide for her turn. Ymir helped her climb, and soon Rosa was sliding down with the same joy as her sister.

The day continued full of laughter and games as Ymir enjoyed watching her daughters have fun. The park was the perfect place to spend the day, and Ymir was happy to be able to give her daughters such a special day.

As the sun began to set on the horizon, Ymir decided it was time to head home. She gathered her daughters, helped them pick up their things, and guided them back to the stroller.

“Did you like the park?” she asked as they walked to the car.

“Yes, Mom!” María responded. “It was the best day ever.”

“Yeah!” Rosa added. “Can we come again?”

Sina just smiled and babbled something unintelligible, but her eyes sparkled with happiness. Ymir felt a surge of love and gratitude seeing her daughters so content.

“We will, girls. We can come again soon,” Ymir said, hugging them all.

They returned home tired but happy, and as they settled in for the night, Ymir reflected on the day. It was a reminder of how important it was to spend time together as a family and how much her life had changed since she had met Shinji and formed a new family with him.

When the girls finally fell asleep, Ymir sat in the living room, feeling content and complete. Although the day had been long, every moment had been worth it. And with a smile on her face, Ymir prepared to relax and enjoy a quiet evening in the company of her family.

Chapter 49: A Family Picnic Day

Chapter Text

The morning sun gently filtered through the kitchen curtains, filling the room with a warm, golden light. Ymir, with a calm smile, was slicing apples while Shinji, beside her, concentrated on preparing sandwiches, carefully aligned on the counter. The girls, full of energy, were running back and forth, excited about the day's plans. Maria and Rosa were friendly debating over which toys to bring, while little Sina babbled cheerfully from her high chair, watching all the movement around her.

"I'm going to bring my storybook," Rosa declared, her childish voice filled with determination.

Maria, without skipping a beat, quickly replied, "I'm bringing my favorite doll."

Ymir watched the interaction fondly, recalling how every little detail of her life had changed since she was with them. These kinds of mornings, filled with laughter and small complications, were the ones she treasured the most.

Noticing her gaze, Shinji smiled at her.

"Ready for a day of rest?" he asked, as he closed the picnic basket lid.

Ymir nodded, but then, with a touch of nostalgia in her voice, she replied, "I always enjoy these days, especially when we're all together. It gives me peace."

Shinji, understanding the depth of her words, leaned in and gave her a soft kiss on the forehead.

"We deserve it," he murmured, his eyes reflecting the same feeling of tranquility they both shared.

With everything packed and the girls ready, the family headed to the car. The trip to the countryside was filled with an atmosphere of anticipation, with the girls looking out the windows, pointing out everything that caught their attention. The landscape slowly shifted from the city to the countryside, with tall trees and green fields stretching under a bright blue sky.

Upon arriving at the park, Shinji and Ymir looked for the perfect spot for the picnic. They found a small hill near a river, where the breeze was gentle, and the sound of flowing water provided an immediate sense of calm. They spread a large blanket on the grass, and the girls quickly began exploring the surroundings, their laughter filling the air.

Ymir helped Sina sit on the blanket, giving her small pieces of fruit while the other girls settled around them. Shinji poured juice, and for a moment, everyone was immersed in the simple pleasure of enjoying food outdoors. The conversations were light and full of laughter, and Shinji and Ymir shared knowing glances, savoring the calm that only a day like this could bring.

After eating, Shinji took out a ball, and soon everyone was running and playing on the grass. Maria and Rosa tried to keep up with their father, while Ymir, from the blanket, watched with a satisfied smile. It wasn't long before she joined them, participating in the game and bringing even more joy to the moment.

As the sun began to set and the girls grew tired from all the running, they decided to rest a bit on the blanket. Maria and Rosa lay down, gazing at the sky, while Sina fell asleep in Ymir's arms. Shinji and Ymir took that moment to sit together in silence, simply enjoying each other's presence.

Ymir, with a sigh full of contentment, broke the silence. "These are the moments I value the most. They make me feel whole, as if everything I've been through was worth it just to be here, now, with you."

Shinji looked at her, his expression soft and understanding. "We've come a long way, Ymir. And what we have now... this is what I always wanted—a family, peace. I'm glad we found it together."

Ymir nodded, her eyes shining with contained emotion. "I never thought I could have something like this. But you... you gave me this home, this peace. You've taught me what it really means to relax," she paused, her thoughts drifting for a moment before adding softly, "Relaxing with you... it's when I feel the most alive."

Shinji smiled and gave her hand a gentle squeeze, expressing without words what they both felt. The afternoon continued peacefully, with the girls playing nearby, while they enjoyed each other's company, surrounded by nature.

As the sun slowly sank below the horizon, they began packing up, knowing it was time to head home. The girls, visibly tired, helped as best they could, but soon fell asleep in the car, dozing off before the vehicle even started moving.

Back home, with the girls tucked into their beds, Ymir and Shinji took a moment to relax in the living room. The quiet of the house, after such a day filled with laughter and activities, brought them a sense of peace. They lay back on the sofa, Ymir resting her head on Shinji's shoulder as he wrapped an arm around her.

"It was a good day," Ymir murmured, closing her eyes and letting the exhaustion wash over her.

"It was," Shinji agreed, his voice also drowsy. "And there will be many more like it."

With that unspoken promise, they both fell into a comfortable silence, enjoying each other's warmth and the satisfaction that only a perfect day could bring.

Chapter 50: A night for the two of us

Chapter Text

In front of the mirror in her room, Ymir observed her reflection, feeling a mix of excitement and insecurity. The dress she had chosen, one that Mari had insisted she wear, clung to her curves, accentuating her figure in a way she wasn’t used to seeing herself. She knew the design was pretty, elegant, but she couldn’t help but feel a little doubtful as she ran her hands over her stomach, noticing the softness of the fabric against her skin, but also the slight roundness of her abdomen. A sigh escaped her lips as she lowered her gaze, almost as if she were trying to avoid the image in the mirror.

"I think I look fat in this," Ymir said softly, with a hint of concern evident in her tone.

Shinji, who was adjusting the collar of his shirt near the bed, looked up at her tenderly. There was something in the vulnerability of her voice that reminded him of how important it was for her to feel comfortable and secure. He left what he was doing and approached her, wrapping his arms around her from behind. The warmth of his body and the softness of his embrace made Ymir relax a little, but the insecurity was still there, like a persistent shadow.

"Fat… you make me want you," Shinji whispered, his voice carrying a playful tone, but with a depth that sent a shiver down Ymir’s spine. He gently caressed her stomach, tracing a path of soft touches as his lips brushed against the curve of her neck. Then, he murmured, "But I don’t just mean physically, Ymir. You are beautiful, powerful, and the woman I love. When I look at you, I see everything you are, everything we’ve shared… and it fills me with a desire and a love I can’t describe."

Shinji's words pierced through her in a way she didn’t expect. Ymir closed her eyes, letting his words envelop her like a warm blanket. The love and devotion in Shinji’s voice were unmistakable. It wasn’t just the physical attraction that kept her close to him, but a much deeper connection, a mutual understanding that had grown over time. She slowly turned in his arms, her eyes meeting his. The feeling was almost overwhelming, a mix of gratitude, love, and a touch of vulnerability she wasn’t used to showing.

"Shinji…" she murmured, feeling her emotions stir within her. It was rare for her to feel so exposed, but with him, she felt safe, accepted, as if every part of her was valued. Ymir leaned into him, capturing his lips in a deep and passionate kiss. There was something in the way he held her, in how he looked at her, that made all her insecurities melt away.

The kiss slowly broke, but the contact between them remained, their foreheads touching and their breaths intertwined. Ymir smiled softly, feeling a little more confident, more connected to Shinji. There was something comforting in the simplicity of this moment, in how they could be together without needing words, just sharing the peace they had found in their relationship.

"I couldn’t imagine a life without you," Ymir said, her words filled with sincerity. It was a thought that surprised her every time she had it. The life she had before meeting Shinji seemed so distant now, almost as if it belonged to someone else.

Shinji kissed her again, this time with a softness that made Ymir feel a sweet warmth in her chest. Then, with a knowing smile, he took her hand and guided her toward the door.

"Let’s go," Shinji said with a smile that reflected the serenity he had found in his life with her. "We have a night to ourselves, and I don’t want to miss a single moment with you."

As they stepped out of the house, the night air was cool, filled with the promise of a peaceful evening. The stars were beginning to shine in the dark sky, and the path ahead of them stretched out like an invitation to enjoy the quiet beauty of the night. The soft sound of their footsteps on the pavement was almost hypnotic, and Ymir found herself lost in thought as they walked together.

As they moved forward, Ymir couldn’t help but reflect on how far they had come. Her mind briefly wandered to her past, a time when all she knew was suffering and servitude. As Founding Ymir, she had been a figure of power and tragedy, trapped in an endless cycle of pain. But now, with Shinji by her side, all of that felt like a distant life, like a bad dream she had finally woken up from.

"It’s incredible how much my life has changed," Ymir said quietly, more to herself than to Shinji. There was a stillness in her voice, an acceptance of the scars from her past, but also a recognition of the beauty of the present.

Shinji, always attuned to her emotions, looked at her with curiosity, gently squeezing her hand.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked, his voice filled with warmth and concern.

"About how everything used to be. Who I was before you," Ymir admitted, her voice tinged with a melancholy that quickly faded when she looked at Shinji. "I never thought I could be happy, that I could have something as simple and beautiful as this. It’s… it’s like a dream."

Shinji stopped, turning her so she could face him. The love in his eyes was palpable, and his smile, full of understanding.

"This is our dream, Ymir. And we’re living it together." He gently stroked her cheek with his thumb, and she closed her eyes, savoring the warm, comforting touch.

Ymir nodded, a soft smile curving her lips.

"Yes, we are."

When they finally arrived at the restaurant, the evening felt like a well-deserved respite, a reminder that, although their lives were filled with challenges and responsibilities, there would always be moments like this. Moments where they could simply be themselves, without burdens, without heaviness in their hearts, just the promise of being together, sharing a love that had blossomed against all odds.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, with warm lights creating an intimate and relaxed environment. The aroma of freshly prepared food filled the air, and Ymir felt her worries fade away with every step they took toward their table. Shinji chose a quiet table in a corner, away from the bustle, where they could enjoy their time together without interruptions.

The night passed with laughter, soft conversations, and looks filled with meanings that didn’t need words. Every dish they shared was a new opportunity to connect, to strengthen the bond that united them. Shinji, always attentive to her tastes, surprised her with little details, choosing the dishes he knew she would enjoy, while Ymir watched him with a mix of wonder and affection, wondering how she had been so lucky to find someone who understood her so well.

At one point, while they were sharing dessert, Ymir looked at him with a smile, her thoughts wandering toward the future.

"I never thought I could be this happy," she said, her voice soft but filled with conviction.

Shinji looked at her, taking her hand across the table.

"You deserve to be happy, Ymir. After everything you’ve been through, you deserve every moment of joy, every smile. And I…" He paused, gently squeezing her hand. "I’m here to make sure you always have reasons to smile."

Shinji's words resonated in her heart, filling her with a warmth that enveloped her completely. There was nothing in the world that could compare to what she felt at that moment, the certainty that she had found her home, her place in the world, in Shinji’s arms.

As they held hands by candlelight, Ymir knew, without a doubt, that she had found her home in Shinji. A home that nothing and no one could take from her. The outside world faded away, leaving them alone in their little universe, where only they existed for each other. And under the starry sky, in the stillness of the night, Ymir finally allowed herself to dream of a future filled with love, hope, and the promise of a life together.

Chapter 51: United in the night

Chapter Text

The moon shone high in the sky, its soft and steady light slipping through the curtains and bathing the room in a silvery glow. Ymir stood in front of the window, gazing at the horizon as if searching for answers in the stars. The gentle whisper of the wind was the only sound breaking the silence of the night. Her naked body, barely covered by the faint light, reflected the beauty and vulnerability she felt at that moment.

Shinji watched her from the bed, his eyes never leaving her. He took in every detail of her figure, the delicacy of her skin, the curve of her back, the softness of her hair cascading over her shoulders. He loved her in silence, with a devotion that seemed to grow with each passing minute they spent together.

"Ymir..." Shinji whispered, his voice barely audible.

She turned slowly, her eyes meeting his. In her gaze, there was more than desire; it was a mix of love, need, and above all, submission. It was as if, at that moment, in that room, Ymir had given not only her body but also her soul to him.

Shinji rose from the bed, approaching her with slow, deliberate steps. When he reached her, he said nothing. There was no need for words. He simply raised a hand and gently placed it on Ymir's cheek, caressing her skin with the back of his fingers.

The simple touch made Ymir close her eyes, letting out a sigh. Her body trembled under Shinji's touch, as if his mere presence ignited something inside her.

"I love you..." Shinji whispered, drawing closer, his lips barely brushing hers.

Ymir slowly opened her eyes, looking at him with a mix of devotion and yearning. "Make me yours..." she murmured, her voice laden with a submission that made her feel even more exposed and vulnerable. She felt her body burn under Shinji's gaze, every part of her longing to be touched by him, consumed by him.

Shinji needed no more. He kissed her deeply, with a hunger and tenderness that made the world around them disappear. As he kissed her, his hands began to move with more confidence, trailing down her neck, her shoulders, slowly descending along her back until they reached her hips. Each touch was a promise, a reminder of the connection they shared.

Ymir moaned softly against his lips, her body responding to every caress, every movement of Shinji's hands. She felt her skin burn under his fingers, her heart beating faster with every passing second. When he lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bed, she offered no resistance. She let herself be carried, submissive, completely surrendered to him.

Shinji laid her gently on the sheets, his body covering hers as his lips continued to move over hers. His hands kept exploring, traveling down her neck to her breasts, softly caressing before gently squeezing. Ymir arched her back, letting out a moan of pleasure, her body instinctively moving toward him, seeking more.

"You're beautiful..." Shinji murmured against her skin, his lips descending to her neck as his hands continued to explore every inch of her body.

Ymir moaned in response, her body trembling under his. "Shinji..." she whispered, her voice broken by the pleasure he was giving her. Each touch, each caress made her feel smaller, weaker, but at the same time more desired, more loved.

Shinji slowly lowered himself, his lips leaving a trail of wet kisses down her neck, her breasts, her abdomen, until he reached her thighs. Ymir watched him with half-closed eyes, her breathing increasingly labored. When he finally entered her gently, Ymir let out a deep moan, feeling her body completely filled by him.

"Shinji..." she moaned again, her body arching beneath his as he began to move inside her, slow and rhythmic, as if he wanted to savor every moment.

Shinji's hands gripped her hips as his eyes never left her, as if he wanted to record in his mind every expression, every sound she made. "You're mine... you always will be," he whispered, leaning in to kiss her again.

Ymir held him tightly, her legs wrapping around Shinji's waist, making sure he wouldn't pull away from her. "Don't stop..." she begged, her voice pleading, full of need and surrender.

Shinji quickened his pace, his breaths becoming more ragged, his body pressing against Ymir's with more intensity. He felt her trembling beneath him, each moan that escaped her lips pushing him closer to the edge.

The climax hit like a wave, overwhelming them both. Ymir cried out his name, feeling her body shake under Shinji's final thrust. In that very moment, as she felt her world crumble and rebuild at the same time, she tightened her legs around him, ensuring that Shinji couldn't pull out of her. She wanted to feel him completely, his warmth filling her, claiming every part of her being.

Shinji groaned deeply, burying himself even further inside Ymir, his body trembling as he released everything into her. Ymir felt the warmth expand through her belly, the weight of his seed filling her completely. A mixture of pleasure and wonder washed over her, knowing that this moment bound them together in a way deeper than anything else.

"Shinji..." she murmured, barely able to speak as their bodies trembled together, their breathing ragged and heavy.

Shinji collapsed on top of her, his hands softly caressing her skin, his fingers tracing small circles as they both caught their breath. "I love you..." Shinji whispered against her ear, his voice soft and full of love.

Ymir held him tightly, her legs still clinging to his body, as if she didn't want this moment to end. "I love you too..." she whispered back, her eyes filling with tears from the intensity of what they had just shared.

Shinji settled beside her, keeping her close, never ceasing to touch her, to caress her, as if he still couldn't believe that she was his. Ymir closed her eyes, letting Shinji's warmth and the sensation of his seed inside her envelop her completely. She felt like she was finally at peace, completely connected with him, in body and soul.

Under the moonlight, united by passion and love, Ymir and Shinji lay entwined, their breathing slow and synchronized as the outside world disappeared entirely.

Chapter 52: A New Future

Chapter Text

The afternoon sun shone softly as Ymir walked through the streets with her three daughters, María, Rosa, and Sina. The eldest, María, twelve years old, walked beside her with an air of confidence that was already starting to reflect her developing personality. Rosa, ten, stayed close, observing everything around her with curious eyes, while Sina, only eight, jumped and ran around her sisters, full of energy and enthusiasm.

"Mama, when are we getting to dad's café?" asked Sina, stopping for a moment to look up at Ymir with impatient eyes.

Ymir smiled and knelt to be at eye level with her youngest daughter, gently stroking her golden hair.

"Soon, my love. We're almost there," she replied sweetly.

Shinji's café, a project he had started years ago, was now a landmark in the city, known not only for its excellent coffee and delicious pastries but also for its warm and family-friendly atmosphere. Shinji had poured his heart and soul into the place, and Ymir had been by his side every step of the way. The name of the café, *"Three Stars,"* was inspired by their three daughters, the bright stars that illuminated their lives.

As they continued their walk, the girls chatted and laughed, sharing little anecdotes about their day. María, being the eldest, already showed signs of responsibility and care for her younger sisters, something that filled Ymir with pride.

"Mama, dad promised us we could help out at the café today," said Rosa, taking Ymir's hand. "Do you think he'll let us?"

"Of course," Ymir replied with a smile. "Your father loves having you there. He says the café feels more complete with his three stars present."

María smiled at the comment, looking at her mother with affection. Though still young, she was beginning to understand the significance of the place in their family's life and the love her parents had poured into it.

As they reached the corner where the café stood, the sign for *"Three Stars"* glowed warmly, welcoming everyone who passed by. Ymir felt a wave of satisfaction and nostalgia as she looked at the place, remembering the early days of work and effort that had led to what was now a success, not only commercially but also as a symbol of the love and unity of their family.

When they entered the café, the sound of the bell over the door alerted Shinji, who was behind the counter preparing a new batch of coffee. He looked up, and a smile spread across his face as he saw his wife and daughters walk in.

"Welcome, my stars!" Shinji exclaimed joyfully, quickly stepping out from behind the counter to greet them.

Sina was the first to run towards him, leaping into his arms with excitement. Shinji lifted her up and hugged her tightly, savoring the embrace of his youngest daughter. María and Rosa came over as well, receiving their own hugs before Shinji leaned down to kiss Ymir, grateful for the family they had built together.

"The place looks amazing, as always," Ymir commented, glancing around. The decor, which had evolved over time, included little details inspired by their daughters: framed drawings made by them, family photos, and a few small hanging stars that adorned the ceiling.

"Thanks, love," Shinji replied, taking her hand. "But it wouldn't be the same without you all here."

The girls ran into the kitchen to start helping, an activity they enjoyed, especially since it allowed them to spend time with their father and feel like part of the family business. Shinji and Ymir watched them with pride as they worked together, laughing and learning.

"I love seeing them like this," Shinji said quietly, looking at Ymir with eyes full of love. "I never imagined we could have something so beautiful."

Ymir looked at him tenderly, nodding. She, too, had come a long way from the days when she had struggled with her past, and now, as she looked at her family, she knew she had found something far more valuable than she had ever imagined.

"We're very lucky," Ymir replied, squeezing his hand. "I couldn't ask for more."

As the afternoon wore on, the café filled with customers, many of whom were regulars who knew the family well. The girls moved through the café, delivering pastries and helping customers, always under the watchful eyes of their parents.

For the customers, *"Three Stars"* wasn't just a café. It was a place where they could feel the warmth and love of a family that had worked together to build something special. Every corner of the café reflected the affection between Shinji and Ymir, and the brightness of their daughters.

Ymir watched her daughters work with dedication, feeling happier than she had ever been. Her life, once marked by pain and struggle, was now full of light and hope, thanks to the family she had created with Shinji.

At the end of the day, when the café began to empty and the golden light of the sunset bathed the place in warm hues, Ymir sat next to Shinji at one of the tables. The girls, tired but happy, snuggled up beside them, sharing stories of the day and enjoying the family’s company.

"This is what I always wanted," Shinji said, breaking the silence. "A place where our family can be together, where we can be happy and enjoy every moment."

Ymir nodded, knowing that Shinji's words reflected exactly how she felt as well. No matter what the future might bring, they would always have this place, this home, where the stars that were their daughters shone brighter than anywhere else.

And so, the day ended with the family gathered in their special place, the *"Three Stars"* café, where each of them found comfort and joy, knowing that they were together, living the dream they had once only imagined.

Chapter 53: An ordinary day

Chapter Text

The soft sounds of the morning filled the house, as the faint murmur of children's laughter echoed from the next room. Ymir slowly opened her eyes, still curled up next to Shinji. She could feel his steady breathing, a comforting and calming presence beside her. For a moment, she simply stayed there, savoring the serenity and the distant sound of her daughters playing.

"They're already awake," she thought with a smile. She knew that Maria, the eldest, was likely leading the morning mischief, with Rosa eagerly following behind her with boundless energy. Sina, the youngest, would soon join her sisters, dragging along her favorite blanket.

With a satisfied sigh, Ymir carefully slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake Shinji. She paused for a moment to watch him, noticing the peace on his face. This man, who had endured so much, had found a way to give her and their daughters a life she had never thought possible.

She made her way to the girls’ room, and when she opened the door, she was greeted by the sight of her three daughters immersed in a mountain of stuffed animals and toys. Maria was busy organizing a parade of dolls, while Rosa was desperately trying to convince Sina that her teddy bear needed a hat.

"Mama!" Maria called out as soon as she saw her in the doorway, running toward her with outstretched arms. Ymir easily scooped her up, laughing.

“How are my princesses this morning?” she asked, warmth radiating from her heart.

“We’re fine!” Rosa exclaimed, tugging at the hem of her dress. “But Sina doesn’t want to dress up the stuffed animals.”

“Don’t you want to?” Ymir asked the youngest, who only shrugged with a mischievous expression.

“I want to play with Mama,” Sina said in her sweet, childish voice.

Ymir smiled, feeling a wave of love for her daughters. These small, everyday moments were what filled her life with meaning—moments she had never imagined having during the dark years of her past. She had never dared to dream of something so simple, so beautiful.

They decided to spend the morning together, with Ymir helping her daughters get dressed before guiding them to the kitchen to make breakfast. Shinji joined them shortly after, his smile all Ymir needed to know that he, too, cherished these moments. Together, as a family, they made pancakes, with the girls insisting on decorating them with smiley faces made of fruit.

As they ate breakfast, the conversation centered around the little details of everyday life: the games they planned to play later, the flowers they had seen in the park last time, and the stories Shinji told them about his work at the café.

Maria, ever curious, suddenly asked, “Daddy, how did you decide on the name for the café?”

Shinji smiled, glancing at Ymir before answering.

“The café is inspired by you three. We wanted it to have a name that represented everything that’s important to us. In the end, we realized there was no better way to do that than with a name that belonged to you.”

The girls looked at each other, excited.

“Really?” Rosa asked, her eyes shining with enthusiasm. “That’s so cool!”

“Yep,” Ymir confirmed, pulling her daughters into a hug. “Every corner of the café is inspired by you. We wanted it to reflect all the love and joy you bring into our lives.”

After breakfast, they decided to take a walk in the nearby park. The girls ran along the path, collecting flowers and chasing butterflies, while Ymir and Shinji walked at a slower pace, watching them with love.

“It’s amazing how time flies,” Ymir said quietly, intertwining her fingers with Shinji’s. “It feels like just yesterday they were babies, and now they’re growing up so fast.”

“Yeah, it’s true,” Shinji agreed. “But every day with them, with you, is a gift. I never thought life could feel this full.”

Ymir looked at him, her heart swelling with gratitude. Though she had faced the deepest darkness, she was now surrounded by light. This day, this peaceful walk, was proof of how far she had come.

When they returned home, they spent the afternoon laughing and playing, with Ymir helping the girls put on a small puppet show they had come up with. As she watched them perform, with Shinji by her side, Ymir was overwhelmed by a sense of fulfillment. Everything she had suffered, all the pain she had endured, had been worth it to arrive at this moment.

As night finally fell and the girls drifted off to sleep, Ymir and Shinji curled up on the couch, enjoying the peace that the end of the day brought.

“Today was perfect, wasn’t it?” Ymir said, resting her head on Shinji’s shoulder.

“Yeah, it was,” Shinji replied with a smile. “And this is just the beginning. We have a whole life ahead of us to enjoy moments like this.”

Ymir closed her eyes, feeling the tranquility of being home, surrounded by love. As the clock ticked forward and the night grew deeper, she allowed herself to savor the calm that could only be found in the warmth of her home and the hearts of those she loved.

At the end of the day, Ymir realized that, although her past had been dark and full of suffering, her present was filled with light and love. And as she embraced Shinji, she knew that she had found the peace and happiness she had always longed for.

Chapter 54: A family dinner

Chapter Text

The afternoon was becoming warm in Shinji and Ymir's home. Outside, the sun was shining gently, and inside the living room, the laughter of three girls echoed joyfully as they played with their mother. Ymir was sitting on the floor, surrounded by María, Rosa, and Sina, who were trying to catch the small paper balls she tossed into the air.

"Catch it, Mom!" Rosa shouted, throwing a paper ball directly at Ymir, who pretended to dodge the hit with a laugh.

"That was close!" Ymir responded, smiling broadly as she tossed another ball toward María, the eldest.

The three girls pounced on Ymir, trying to catch her amidst laughter and play. At first, Ymir playfully defended herself, but soon she let herself fall to the ground, allowing the girls to cover her with kisses and hugs. It was a game they often repeated, an unofficial tradition that brought them even closer.

"Mom, when will Dad be home?" asked Sina, the youngest, as she snuggled into Ymir's lap.

"Soon, sweetheart. I’m sure he won’t take long," Ymir replied, gently stroking Sina’s hair.

Just then, the front door opened, and Shinji walked in, looking a little tired but with a smile on his face as he took in the scene that greeted him. The girls, hearing the sound of the door, turned their heads and ran toward him, overcome with excitement at his arrival.

"Dad!" they shouted in unison as they hugged him tightly.

Shinji let out a warm laugh and embraced his daughters just as tightly, giving each of them a kiss on the head. Ymir got up from the floor, smiling as she watched the closeness between Shinji and the girls. There was something so comforting about seeing them together, something that always reminded her of how fortunate she was to have found this new life filled with love and happiness.

"Welcome home, Shinji," Ymir said, approaching him to give him a soft kiss on the lips.

"Thanks, Ymir. It’s good to be back," Shinji responded with a satisfied sigh as his daughters clung to his legs.

"Dad, did you bring a surprise?" María asked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"Yeah, a surprise!" added Rosa, jumping up with excitement.

Shinji smiled mysteriously and looked at Ymir, who also seemed curious. "Actually, I did. How about we go get hamburgers tonight?"

The girls shrieked with joy, bouncing around their father as they tried to drag him toward the door. Ymir chuckled softly at the scene and nodded her approval.

"Looks like we don’t have much choice, Shinji. The girls are already set on it," Ymir said, amused.

"Then let’s not waste any more time. Let’s go!" Shinji replied with a smile.

Within minutes, the family was in the car, heading to the girls’ favorite burger restaurant. During the drive, the little ones couldn’t stop talking, filling the car with their excited voices as they told their father about their day and the game they had shared with Ymir.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, the girls practically leaped out of the car, running toward the entrance with Ymir and Shinji close behind. They picked a table by the window, and the girls rushed to sit down, leaving an honorary seat for their father.

"I want a burger with lots of cheese, Dad," María said, sitting beside him and decisively grabbing the menu.

"And I want one with extra pickles," added Rosa, sitting on the other side of Shinji.

Sina, wasting no time, climbed onto her father’s lap, looking at him with bright eyes. "I want yours, Dad. Because it always tastes better when you eat it."

Shinji chuckled softly and patted Sina’s head. "Alright, we’ll order a big one to share. How about that?"

"Yes!" Sina exclaimed, hugging her father tightly.

Ymir, who had sat across from them, watched the scene with tenderness. The girls were so close to Shinji, each showing their affection in their own way. It was clear how much they admired and loved him, something that made Ymir feel deeply grateful for the life they had built together.

The waiter came to take their order, and soon the table was filled with burgers, fries, and soft drinks. Each of the girls had their own burger, but as expected, they all ended up taking bites from Shinji’s. Sina, still on his lap, took small bites from her father’s burger, while the other two shared their fries with him.

"Remember, girls, you have to eat your whole burger," Shinji said with a smile, watching how they enjoyed their food. "I don’t want to see a crumb left on the plate."

"Yes, Dad," all three replied in unison as they focused on finishing their burgers.

Sina, with her small appetite, took a little longer, but Shinji gently encouraged her, helping her take bigger bites. Meanwhile, Ymir enjoyed her own meal, watching with affection as Shinji dedicated himself to his daughters.

"Dad, can you give me more ketchup?" asked Rosa, pushing her plate toward Shinji.

"And me too, Dad," added María, reaching out to grab a fry from her plate.

Shinji, always patient and with a smile on his face, took care of each of his daughters’ requests, enjoying the organized chaos unfolding around him.

Ymir couldn’t help but smile as she watched Shinji so involved in everything the girls did. Despite the noise and laughter, there was a sense of peace and unity that enveloped the family. To her, these were the moments that truly mattered, the small instances that made up a life full of love.

After the girls finished eating, Shinji and Ymir stayed at the table for a while longer, chatting as the little ones played with napkins and the leftover food. Sina, now more snuggled into her father’s lap, yawned, making it clear she was ready to sleep.

"I think it’s time to go home," Ymir said, smiling as she saw Sina’s eyes slowly closing.

"Yeah, it looks like someone’s had enough for today," Shinji responded, stroking his daughter’s head.

María and Rosa stood up from their seats, helping to gather their things as Shinji paid the bill. When they finally left the restaurant, night had already fallen, and the city lights glowed softly around them.

On the way home, the girls cuddled together in the back seat of the car, speaking softly about how much fun they had. Shinji and Ymir, sitting in the front, held hands, enjoying the comfortable silence that had settled between them.

"Thank you for this," Ymir said softly, looking at him with deep affection. "Sometimes, these simple moments are the most special."

"You’re welcome," Shinji replied, squeezing her hand. "I do it for all of you. I couldn’t ask for anything more."

When they finally arrived home, the girls were already half-asleep. Shinji carried each of them to their beds, making sure they were comfortable and tucked in before gently closing the door. Then, he headed to the living room where Ymir was waiting for him, sitting on the couch with a peaceful expression on her face.

"Today was a good day," Shinji said, sitting beside her.

"Yes, it was," Ymir agreed, leaning against his shoulder. "And days like this make me realize how lucky we are."

Shinji wrapped his arm around Ymir, savoring the calm that the night had brought. The girls, so full of life and energy, were living proof of the happiness they had found together. And as he watched them in their smallest, everyday moments, Shinji realized he couldn’t imagine his life any other way.

Chapter 55: Father and daughters

Chapter Text

Shinji returned home after a long day at the café he managed, exhausted but eager to see his family. As soon as he crossed the threshold, he was greeted by a whirlwind of energy and laughter. Three small figures rushed towards him, competing to see who would get there first.

María, twelve years old, arrived first, closely followed by Rosa, ten, and little Sina, eight. They surrounded him, each one trying to get his attention.

“Dad, you're finally here!” María exclaimed, hugging him tightly.

“We missed you so much!” Rosa added, tugging at his hand.

“Can I tell you what we did today, Dad?” asked Sina, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Shinji smiled, kneeling down to hug them all at once. Despite his fatigue, the joy of his daughters renewed his energy.

“I missed you all too,” he said, kissing each of them on the head. “Now, tell me everything. What did you do today?”

“We put together a play for you!” María said proudly, pointing towards the living room.

“Yeah, you’re going to love it,” Rosa said, gently pulling his arm to lead him there.

Sina, the youngest, held on to his hand, enjoying the closeness with her father.

Ymir watched from the kitchen, a soft smile on her lips. Seeing Shinji so involved with the girls filled her with a special warmth. Inside, she reflected on how much her life had changed since meeting him. She remembered her past, one where she never had the chance to know her father or mother. She lost both before she could understand what it meant to have a family. Now, seeing her daughters so close to their father, she felt a mixture of happiness and melancholy. Shinji was everything she had never had: a solid, loving pillar.

“Come on, Dad,” María said, leading Shinji into the living room, where they had set up a small improvised stage with sheets and cushions.

“I’ll be the princess,” Rosa announced as she placed a paper crown on her head.

“And I’ll be the queen,” said Sina, grabbing a doll she was using as a scepter.

María, always the most organized, began assigning roles as Shinji settled on the couch. They had worked hard on this play, and excitement sparkled in their eyes.

“And you’ll be the king!” María said, handing Shinji a small paper hat.

“Sounds perfect,” Shinji replied, putting on the hat with a smile.

The play began, quickly turning into a mix of fairy tales and stories they made up as they went along. The girls took turns being rescued by the "king," each playing their role with contagious enthusiasm.

“And then, the king saved the princess from the evil dragon!” Rosa shouted as she pretended to fight an epic battle with a pillow.

“And the queen helped him defeat it!” added Sina, running to join the action.

María directed the story with the confidence of someone who knew they were doing something special. In the end, the play concluded with everyone living happily ever after in a grand castle.

“And they all lived happily ever after,” María declared, bowing to her audience.

Shinji and Ymir applauded, laughter filling the room. The girls ran towards them, seeking the approval they knew they would get.

“That was amazing, girls. I’m so proud of you,” Shinji said, hugging them again.

“Do you really mean it, Dad?” Sina asked, with a shy smile.

“Of course, it was the best play I’ve ever seen,” Shinji assured, kissing her on the forehead.

Ymir gently stroked María’s head, watching as each of their daughters sought their father's closeness and affection. It was a bond she had never experienced in her own childhood, which made her value even more what they had now.

After the play, the family settled in the living room, enjoying the calm of the evening. The girls chatted excitedly, planning their next adventure, always with Shinji in mind. Ymir observed the scene with a mix of peace and reflection. In her past life, she had known loneliness, the absence of a father and mother to guide her, but now, in this new life, she had found a place where she could finally experience what she had always longed for.

Later, after the girls had gone to bed, Shinji and Ymir stayed in the living room for a while, enjoying the quiet of the night. Ymir rested her head on Shinji’s shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around her, feeling deep gratitude for the life they had built together.

“You know,” Ymir said softly, “the girls really adore you.”

Shinji smiled, gently kissing Ymir’s head. “And I adore them. I can’t imagine my life without you all.”

Ymir nodded, closing her eyes as she savored that moment of peace. She had come so far, and now she had what she needed most: a united family, full of love, something that had been denied to her in the past but now filled her heart.

Chapter 56: Living to Love

Chapter Text

The twilight painted the sky with a soft golden hue as the sun began its descent on the horizon, gently coloring the clouds that lazily drifted across the sky. The days in this little house were peaceful, filled with a calm that Ymir still couldn’t fully comprehend. The wind blew softly through the open windows, and the air was filled with the scent of the flowers she and Shinji had planted together.

Ymir sat on the doorstep, watching the landscape with a mix of wonder and melancholy. Her previous life seemed like a distant, almost unreal existence, but the echoes of her past still resonated in her mind. Closing her eyes brought images of slavery, blind obedience, and endless sacrifices. She remembered walking barefoot over cold ground, with no purpose of her own, just another tool for others’ power. She had never known what it was to be free.

Until now.

Shinji moved inside the house, and Ymir could hear him fussing with a cup and a plate, probably preparing tea. That simple act, so ordinary, filled her with an inexplicable warmth. Everything in this new life was simple, yet profound, laden with meaning that sometimes overwhelmed her. The mere fact of being there, sitting in peace, feeling like part of something that didn’t involve pain or suffering, was something she could barely process.

Shinji came out into the garden with two cups in his hands, offering Ymir a small smile when their eyes met. The warmth in his gaze always disarmed her, made her feel as if the weight of the world disappeared, even if just for a moment. He sat down next to her, handing her one of the cups. The silence between them wasn’t uncomfortable; it was filled with meaning, a shared peace they were both learning to savor.

Ymir took the cup, her fingers briefly brushing against Shinji’s, and that light touch reminded her of how different this world was, this reality she now inhabited. For so long, touch had been synonymous with pain or possession. King Fritz, with his cold and ruthless eyes, had only ever seen her as an object, something he could control and exploit. But now, when Shinji touched her, she felt no trace of that old fear. Instead, there was only tenderness.

Shinji took a sip of his tea and sighed, closing his eyes for a moment, as if savoring not just the tea but also the air and the tranquility of the moment. For him, peace had been as hard to find as it was for Ymir. The end of his own world, one where despair and war had consumed him, still haunted him in the shadows of his mind. He had witnessed total destruction, the collapse of the human soul, and the need to rebuild everything from the ground up. But now, alongside Ymir, he seemed to have found a place where tranquility was possible.

"It’s strange, isn’t it?" Shinji murmured, breaking the silence as he looked toward the horizon. "To think that after everything we’ve been through, we can be here, together… in peace."

Ymir nodded, without taking her eyes off the sky. She knew that Shinji understood what she felt, even though she had never shared every detail of her previous life with him. She knew that he, too, had felt the weight of destiny on his shoulders, that he had been shaped by despair and sacrifice, just as she had.

"I never thought it was possible," Ymir finally replied, her voice low but firm. "I never thought I’d find anything beyond suffering. Everything I knew… was pain."

Shinji glanced at her, understanding the weight of her words. He knew they both shared the same fear, the same amazement at the possibility of something better. They had witnessed the most absolute destruction, yet somehow, here they were, sitting under the same sky, finding small moments of joy in the simplest things.

"I didn’t think it was possible either," Shinji said softly. "But here we are. And every day, I realize that this peace, this love… it’s something we can build together."

A lump formed in Ymir’s throat. The word "love" still felt strange to her, almost alien. She had heard the word many times but had never really understood it. She had been raised to obey, to serve, to sacrifice her life for a power she neither asked for nor understood. But now, with Shinji, that concept was starting to take shape. Slowly but surely, she was beginning to understand what it meant to be loved, and what it meant to love in return.

Without releasing the cup, Shinji slid his hand over Ymir’s, intertwining their fingers. The gesture was simple but powerful. At that moment, they didn’t need words; the touch between them was enough to remind them that they had survived, that they had found something beautiful after so much chaos.

Ymir closed her eyes, allowing herself to fully feel that touch. She remembered the nights in Fritz’s court, where her body didn’t belong to her, where she was a prisoner even within her own flesh. Every caress had been a reminder of her submission, of her insignificance. But with Shinji, everything was different. His touch didn’t demand anything, didn’t seek to control or possess her. It was just there, like an anchor, a reminder that there was something beyond her pain.

"Sometimes…" Ymir whispered, feeling the need to share something she had never said aloud, "sometimes I feel like I don’t deserve this. That after everything I’ve done, everything I’ve been… I shouldn’t be here, with you, in peace."

Shinji looked at her with a mix of understanding and sadness. He knew what it was like to carry guilt, to bear the weight of the past. For so long, he had thought the same of himself: that he didn’t deserve the peace he had found, that he didn’t deserve the love of others. But over time, he had learned that peace wasn’t something you earned by merit; it was something you built, step by step, day by day.

"It’s not about deserving," Shinji said gently. "We’ve both done things we wish we hadn’t. We’ve both suffered in ways no one should. But we’re here now, and that’s all that matters."

Shinji’s words resonated deeply with Ymir. It was hard to leave the pain behind, the scars of her former life, but maybe he was right. Maybe the fact that they had survived, that they had found a way to move forward, meant that they did deserve this moment of peace.

"I don’t know how to do it," Ymir admitted, her voice trembling slightly. "I don’t know how to stop being what I was."

Shinji gently squeezed her hand, his touch warm and reassuring.

"You don’t have to do it all at once," he replied calmly. "It’s a process. And you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here with you. Always."

Ymir looked up, meeting Shinji’s eyes. At that moment, the full weight of his words hit her. She wasn’t alone. Not anymore. She had found someone who not only understood her but was willing to walk that difficult path alongside her. A lump of emotion formed in her throat, and for the first time in a long time, Ymir allowed her emotions to flow freely.

"Thank you, Shinji," she murmured, her voice barely a whisper but filled with deep feeling.

Shinji smiled, a small but sincere smile, and gently squeezed her hand again, a silent reminder that everything would be okay.

As the sun finally disappeared on the horizon, leaving the sky a deep shade of dark blue, Ymir felt something new growing inside her. It was a strange but powerful feeling. A sense of hope. A sense of love. A love she had never known before but that now, thanks to Shinji, she was beginning to understand.

In that moment, Ymir felt something inside her break free, as if the invisible chains that had always bound her finally shattered. The weight of her past was still there, but now it seemed lighter, more bearable. For the first time, she not only had a future ahead of her but could imagine it filled with moments like this: simple, peaceful, shared with someone who saw her and accepted her as she was, scars and all.

Shinji watched her silently, as if he too sensed that subtle change in her. The air between them filled with a comforting calm, a silence charged with unspoken but understood promises. Without needing more words, Ymir rested her head on Shinji’s shoulder, letting herself be carried away by that new feeling of belonging, of warmth, of love.

It was a love she had never imagined could exist for her, a love that didn’t demand sacrifice or blood, but simply presence and companionship. As she snuggled closer to him, Ymir understood that for the first time in her life, she was learning to live for something other than pain.

Now, she lived to love. And in that love, she finally found her freedom.

Chapter 57: FINAL CHAPTER

Chapter Text

The sun slowly glided toward the horizon, tinting the sky with golden and violet hues that seemed to bid the day farewell with a gentle whisper. In the park, an almost reverent silence enveloped the atmosphere, broken only by the soft rustle of the wind and the distant song of a bird greeting the arrival of twilight. Shinji and Ymir walked together, their fingers intertwined as their laughter and that of their daughters danced in the air like happy melodies.

“Look at Maria,” Shinji said, pointing to their eldest daughter, who was trying to climb a tree, her indomitable spirit shining with every movement. “Always so determined.”

Ymir smiled, feeling love wash over her. Maria was her reflection, strong and brave, but unlike her own childhood, she was surrounded by love and freedom. A distant echo of her past faded away as she watched her daughters' happiness. Each step they took together seemed a testament to the journey they had embarked upon, a story woven with threads of love and redemption.

When they reached a hillside, they sat on the soft grass, watching their daughters play carefree. Ymir leaned against Shinji's shoulder, enjoying the warmth of his closeness and the serene beating of his heart. In that moment, she felt the weight of her history begin to dissolve, as if time had decided to offer her a second chance.

Ymir let her mind drift back to the past, a place that now felt more like a blurry memory than a tangible reality. She remembered the fear that had marked her childhood, the oppression of a destiny she hadn’t chosen. In that world, love was a foreign concept, and freedom, an unattainable dream. But here, everything was different.

As their daughters ran around, Ymir realized that she had finally found her home. Her thoughts slid toward the lives of her daughters from another reality, a memory that sometimes haunted her. She knew they had known suffering, an endless cycle of pain that had been impossible for her to prevent. That pain was a shadow, but in this moment, the brightness of Maria, Rosa, and Sina’s laughter was a beacon illuminating her soul.

Ymir closed her eyes, letting the breeze caress her face, remembering that while she couldn’t change her past, she could build a future filled with love. In her new world, each laugh from her daughters resonated like a victory over the pain she had known. Each hug she shared with them was a reminder that her story hadn’t ended; instead, it had begun anew.

“Sometimes I feel like I don’t deserve this,” Ymir murmured, almost in a whisper, fear and guilt still entwined in her heart.

Shinji, ever attentive, looked at her with a tenderness that filled her with warmth. “We all carry scars, Ymir. But those scars are witnesses to our struggle, to what we’ve overcome.”

She nodded, feeling that his words were a balm. The scars weren’t a stigma but a symbol of her strength. As they settled in, the sun began to hide behind the mountains, a sign that the day was coming to an end. The sky became a canvas of stars, and with each twinkle, Ymir felt reminded of the beauty of what she had accomplished.

“Sometimes I think that every pain, every tear, led us to this moment,” Shinji reflected. “As if everything had been a path to bring us together.”

Ymir looked at him, feeling that those words fit perfectly in her heart. In the midst of darkness, the idea that every step they had taken had been a step toward their happiness brought her peace. “It’s a beautiful thought. Despite everything, our paths crossed so we could create this together.”

Maria ran toward them, her laughter like music in the air. “Mom, Dad! Look what I found!” she shouted, holding up a small heart-shaped stone, a perfect symbol of their family connection.

Ymir smiled, accepting her daughter’s offering. “It’s beautiful, Maria. Just like you,” she said, feeling a wave of unconditional love.

The girls’ laughter filled the air as Ymir lost herself in her thoughts, remembering that while she had lost much, she had also gained more than she had ever dreamed. In that moment, she understood that the love she had sought her entire life was not just about receiving, but about giving.

As the sun disappeared, leaving a starry sky, Shinji and Ymir embraced, surrounded by their daughters, who, already tired, snuggled against them. Ymir felt a deep calm, as if the weight of the world had vanished. This was her life, her family, her home.

With a last sigh of happiness, Ymir closed her eyes and allowed love and peace to flood her heart. She had found her place in the world, a place where she could be herself, free and whole. With each star shining in the sky, Ymir knew that her story—a story of pain and healing—would continue in the love she had cultivated and in the home she had built.

And as the music of life continued its melody, Ymir felt at peace, knowing she had finally found the ending she had always longed for.
