You had been working at Abbott as the third grade teacher for three years now, coming in so Melissa didn't have to teach two classes again. It was a good job, the kids were lovely and you got along with everyone pretty well. But it wasn't enough to cover the expenses of you and your two younger siblings that you cared for so you picked up another job.
Your first job was working overnight at a gas station but after getting robbed you quit, reasonably so. The next job was a janitor at a hospital, but cleaning bodily fluids wasn't something you could deal with for more than two months. Your current job was at a club... A gentleman's club as a dancer.
You didn't disclose this with the others though, just simply stating you had a second job to make ends meet which they understood. A teacher's salary was not nearly enough to care for three people.
Your job kept you from hanging out with them though, always having to bail on game nights and nights out to the bar.
"Sorry, I have to work tonight."
"Not going to be able to make it, just got called in."
"I would love to but I have a shift tonight, maybe next time."
And unfortunately for you, next time came really soon.
"Hey girl! We're going clubbing tonight, you coming?" Ava asked walking into your classroom during your free period.
"Now you know I gotta work tonight A. Why can't we do brunch or something on Saturday when I'm free?" You said as you looked up from your laptop.
"Boo, you can't call off for one night? And you know I see my grandma on Saturdays." She frowned as she sat on the edge of your desk.
"Nope. Rent's due, Tiny needs money for her cheer uniform and Jace needs new clothes cause he hit another growth spurt." You replied as you went back to typing.
"Ugh, responsibilities suck. Let me know when you're off so we can do something, I can only hang out with Janine so much." She said as she got up and left your room.
You shook your head and kept working until the end of the day. Your siblings came and sat in your classroom until it was time to go home. Once you made it home you helped them with their homework, made dinner and got them showered and in the bed before leaving to go to the club you worked at.
While you were getting ready in the back your coworkers were walking in the front.
"Ava, I know you didn't bring me to a strip club." Barbara hissed as she stiffly looked around.
"Relax Barb, you're not gonna burn in hell for making it rain." Ava laughed causing Barbara to roll her eyes.
"Why did we let her pick this time?" She asked Melissa who simply shrugged.
"It was her turn to pick."
"Come on, I got us a section by the stage." Ava said leading everyone over to the spot.
They all sat down in a corner near the stage. Gregory and Jacob volunteered to get everyone drinks and when they came back, the next dancer was coming out.
"Everybody give it up for Honey." The DJ said as the lights dimmed down.
They changed to a pinkish color as Seduction by Usher started playing. To everyone's surprise, you emerged from the back. Your hair flowing in curls, your body barely covered in a skimpy mini skirt and bralette, six inch clear heels adorning your feet and glitter covering your exposed skin.
You walked up to the pole, grabbing it immediately to twirl around with ease. Everyone watched you with their jaws practically touching the floor.
"Woah."
"Is that?"
"Yeah."
"Damn she looks hot."
"Has she always had that tattoo?"
Men crowded the stage, blocking your view of them but not theirs of you. Whistles rang through the establishment as you slid down the pole with ease, dropping into a split. Men and women alike were tucking various bills into your clothes, throwing money on the stage and cheering you on as you danced effortlessly. You got back on the pole, this time hanging upside down as you reached behind you to unclip the bralette.
"Is she about to?"
"Oh. My. God."
"Whew shit! Where's my money at?!"
You threw the bralette to the side, cupping your breasts as you slid down the pole slowly. Even though you took it off, you kept your breasts covered, maneuvering easily with just one hand. You slowly sank to your knees, arching your back as sexily as possible as you got close to one of the patrons, allowing them to slip a hundred dollar bill into your breasts. You shot them a wink before flipping your hair and getting up slowly as your first set had ended. You kicked your bralette into the crowd before dipping behind the curtains with a flirty wave.
Your colleagues all stared at each other with wide eyes before Ava spoke up.
"I'm about to go get a dance." She said standing up but Barb and Melissa pulled her back down.
"Absolutely not." Barb said.
"Yeah. Me first." Melissa said as she got up and bolted over to one of the bouncers, asking how much it was for a dance.
"Dear Lord, Gregory go get her!" Barb said turning to him, to her dismay he was sitting there counting his own money, trying to make sure he had enough for a dance of his own.
"I got it!" Jacob said hopping up and grabbing Melissa before she could confirm the scheduling for her dance.
"Hey! What gives!?" She huffed as he made her sit back next to Barbara.
"She can not know we were here! Its bad enough complete strangers are objectifying her, imagine how she'd feel or react if she walked into the room and saw one of us in there." Barb said making them all stop and think.
"You're right. Maybe we can just leave her a nice tip?" Gregory suggested and everyone agreed.
They all got one last drink and put their money together, leaving you $250 each, totaling up to $1,500 before leaving to go to a regular bar.
With the tip from them and the money from you're two sets and multiple private dances you had banked almost $6,000. You gave the Dj, bouncers and owner their cut, leaving you with $4,750, enough for rent and whatever else you had to cover that month.
You left the club around 2a.m, leaving you with about four hours to sleep before going into work the next day.
You walked into the teacher's lounge, oblivious to the looks everyone was giving you as you got a cup of coffee.
You went and plopped down on the couch with a sigh, leaning your head back and closing your eyes for a second.
"Long night" Melissa asked with a smirk as you hummed in agreement.
"Got off pretty late. Only got about three hours of sleep." You responded as you lifted your head to take a sip of your coffee.
"How was your guy's night? Have a good time?" You asked finally looking at everyone.
"A fantastic time." Melissa responded.
"Best night ever." Janine added on.
"Oh we had a time alright." Gregory laughed making you look at them suspiciously.
"Why are you all acting so weird?" You asked making them all look at each other.
"What do you mean?" Jacob asked but before you could answer Ava walked in.
"Hey girl! You free tonight?" She asked making you shake your head.
"Gotta work." You said taking a sip of your coffee.
"Honey, you really need to take a break from all that working." Barbara said making you pause. She's called you a lot of things but never Honey.
"I should be able to take a break soon. Maybe Friday." You said as you got up from the couch. You went over to the sink to pour your coffee out, as it had gotten cold as Ava looked at you.
"Did a unicorn throw up on you or something? You're covered in glitter." She said making Melissa snicker lowly.
"Oh, uh, my body mist has glitter in it. Didn't think it was that noticeable." You said with a light laugh as you refilled your cup.
"See you guys at lunch." You added on as you left the lounge.
"I'm goin back tonight, anyone wanna tag along?" Ava asked as she moved towards the door.
"Pick me up at 10. Still gotta get my dance." Melissa said making Barb smack her arm.
