Chapter Text
Sunny felt cold as she came to her senses she wasn’t sure where she was but it definitely wasn’t the academy
“Hey, are you ok?!” A voice called out to her
“Hey, cmon please wake up!” She opened her eyes. She wasn’t somewhere she fully recognised. It appeared to be the outside of Jade Mountain Academy but the mountain was far taller than it actually was and the space was white and barren except for strange coral-like structures.
“Oh thank goodness Sunny I was worried!” The voice was familiar but she was too groggy to recognise it.
Sunny took a deep breath of the stale air and pulled herself up everything was stiff and achy and she was still mostly half asleep but she eventually got up on all four feet and stretched out her wings.
“Well, that’s a relief.” She looked around for the source, but there wasn’t a dragon near her except herself. Instead, there was a strange, she didn't know what-like, thing floating in front of her. It vaguely resembled a dragon it’s surface was warm brown like his scales and it had two wing-like structures on either side, horns as well as a slight muzzle and two warm-coloured eye-like shapes.
“Is something wrong? Have you hit your head hard?” The thing bobbed up and down “Oh, wait it’s this isn’t it? Yeah, not sure why I look like this.” The thing looked at itself as Sunny remembered where she’d heard that voice
“It’s Clay! You know.”
“Clay! Are you sure?” Sunny held in a laugh
“Yeah look I’m just as confused as you are. I just woke up like this”
“I kinda look like those things he’s gotten obsessed with recently those metal things he powers with lightning? What did he call them…Ribits?”
“Yep, I don't recall him being able to turn dragons into them though” Sunny tried to properly recall the lecture Starflight had all given them about them.
“On that subject, I haven’t seen Starflight or Tsunami at all so we really need to find them and quick! For once you can’t rely on me to know what to do from here,” Clay was panicking slightly.
“Well, the best thing to do is probably make our way over to the mountain.” Sunny began to walk a bit ahead and Clay followed.
Sunny looked up at the mountain as she walked towards it everything around it would suggest it was some strange white version of Jade Mountain but something about it felt off this whole place felt off.
“Kkk C-ay S-n-y zzz h-lp m- p-e--e!” A light pulsated from the top of the mountain
“Hey that sounds like..” Clay looked up towards the top of the mountain
“Starflight! We have to help him!” Sunny gasped. She tried to unfold her wings to fly up there but a strange iridescent glow surrounded them when she tried to fly with them.
“I can’t fly!” Sunny shook herself and tried again
“That’s odd…Were those always here?” Clay floated over to a large metal thing
“I don’t think so let’s get moving I’ll just have to do it on foot” Sunny ran into a hole in the mountain.
There was darkness for a moment and then she and Clay were standing, well not standing for Clay, in a mostly empty room
“This looks nothing like the academy.”
“At least the students are safe then far away from whatever this is.” Sunny sighed relived
“I don’t like this place it’s giving me the creeps.” Clay pulled back a bit
“You can say that again…!” Sunny was tempted to step back too but making sure Starflight was safe was more important.
Suddenly a black substance spouted out the floor of the other side of the room as what looked like a dragon skeleton encased in ink emerged from it and ran at her.
“Quick Sunny!” Clay turned to her as he projected a ray of light which materialised into a large sword. Sunny grabbed it a took a deep breath before stabbing it into the ink dragon. She frowned hoping it wasn’t alive and conscious. More dragon skeletons emerged
“Go Sunny I know you can do this!” Clay zipped around. Sunny ran forward and struck them with her sword.
“Hopefully that’s all of them.” Sunny exhaled “Wait Clay where did this sword come from?” she inspected it
“I dunno I just somehow made it appear?” Clay did the closest thing he could to a shrug
A structure at the back of the room powered on and opened and there was someone inside; A seawing with deep blue scales.
