Jia’s POV
I was driving down on a street I was familiar with after picking up Skye. Her car is at a auto repairing shop, And i am a few blocks away from her so i offered her a ride, The trip was quiet after picking her up
“Skye, Does maze know that i don’t drink anymore?” I asked skye while biting my nails due to anxiety of whatever skye’s answers.
Skye heaved a heavy breath and i panicked for a second
“Jia, i am gonna be honest with you, I didn’t know that you don’t drink anymore! I saw this new alcoholic drink that we could try later because I knew that you’re the biggest drinker in the group and now? I don’t even know if i would still show you the video! ” Skye said with frustration in her voice
That’s true, I am an alcoholic . I used to chug a one big glass of alcohol and some shots of tequila.
I don’t know but I like the bitter sweet taste of alcohol and the smell of intoxication that lets my body loose on its own accord.
One sip of it and I'm on cloud nine
But one sip also can lose everything i own
Maze’s POV
“Nica! Are you sure that jia will come???” I shouted from the living room while fixing our stuffs, Our friends might come in sooner or later
“Yup! She’s with Skye right now, Her car is broken and needs to get fixed!” Nica shouted from the kitchen, God her voice is so freaking loud
I walked through the kitchen to see what is happening there, i wanted to check if she’s preparing our foods right, I have doubts that we might get food poisoning
“Nica, Do you think Jia still likes me?” I asked her while she prepares snacks and rice meals
“With all honesty? Yes, Jia would always talk to jeo even in the middle of the night, and I also knew the things that they talk about, Jia is my friend also and hey, She might come back to you if she fixed hersef” Nica said
“But nics, We broke up because we don’t have a proper communication, She kept drinking instead fixing things with me” I said while keeping my head down and toying with my finger
They know everything that we’ve been through, Nica and Skye would always accompany me whenever Jia drinks, Although there’s no third party or girls involve but it's always her and beers
“She’ll come around, maze. She loves you maze, we all know that jia loves you, A little more time wouldn’t hurt” Nics said while rubbing my back, I still have faith in jia. Maybe she’s right, a little more time wouldn’t hurt
I was about to answer pero someone called Nics
[Phone call]
[Nics]
Hello? Cloude?
[Cloude]
Tasha’s car broke down inside their village
[Nics]
What?! Okay okay wait, i’ll call skye coz she’s with jia right now. Jia is the who drives, also skye’s car is at the repairing shop, I’ll check if they’re still in the village since tasha and cloude are in the same village with skye and jia, if they’re not there anymore, I’ll ask jeo to fetch you guys since she went home just a awhile ago
[Cloude]

[phone call ended]
“Maze, Can you call Skye to ask if they’re still in the village?” nica asked while preparing the foods for later
I grabbed my phone and dialed Skye’s number
“She didn’t answer her phone!” I said while losing patience
“Call her again! You know maybe she’s on her DND era again" Nica said and rolled her eyes
“i kept dialing her number and no one is answering!" I dialed her phone again and suddenly
“SHE ANSWERED!”
[Phone call]
Maze: SKYE OMFG, WHY ARE YOU NOT ANSWERING MY CALLS??
Jia: Maze? Hello?
(Muted call)
“NICS WTF, JIA ANSWERED THE PHONE CALL, YOU TAKE IT! ” I hurriedly gave the phone to nics, I’m still afraid to talk to jia
(unmuted call)
Nics: Hello? Jia?
Jia: Nics? Where’s maze
Nics: Ah she’s feeding her dogs and cleaning boo and dobby’s mess
Jia: Ah okay
Nics: Where’s Skye?
Jia: Her phone kept ringing and I thought she’s just ignoring it. Skye fell asleep so I answered the call, with the thought of maybe it was an emergency.
Nics: Are you still inside the village?
Jia: Yep, we’re about to leave the village, Skye left her wallet so we took a turn and went back, Why?
Nics: Great! Can you pick Cloude, Tasha and Dash in front of the village? Tasha’s car broke down
Jia: oh okay, i’ll pick them up, I’m still driving
Nics: Thank you Jia! Mwa!
Jia: Nica, that was gross
[PHONE CALL ENDED]
3rd Person
Nica gave the phone to maze and rolled her eyes
“Maze, Just How long will you avoid Jia? She was looking for you earlier, I just said that you’re feeding your dogs
“I don’t either, I wanted to talk to her but something is telling me not to”
“You and your delusions, Quit it maze.”
“You think she has a lover already? Can I take it? God pls no”
“Girl? I don’t know? You’re pointless overthinking would lead you nowhere!"
“i don’t know, i’ll let the alcohol do their magic on two people"
Maze left the kitchen and went straight to the sofa and lay down there
She’s slowly dozed off after a couple of minutes
She didn’t notice that jia came and they already unloaded some things from her car trunk, They silently settled on the two girls living room
Jia asked if she could sleep on Nica’s room since Skye already barged into Maze’s room and sunk on the latter’s bed
Nica agreed and Jia proceeded to sleep.
Meanwhile…..
While Nica, Dash, Cloude, Tasha, maze are waiting for micah, they decided to play board and card games, they decided to drink some of the juice that Jia bought earlier
Only Nica to realize that they drank the juices whilst enjoying the games they play. Exactly the time that nica was already panicking, Micah came with cans of beers and chips she bought from the store on the way here from work,
“Micah, thank god you came. Listen we’re like playing games and stuff and ofc jia bought many foods and juices. Ofc that juice is a lot for her- " Micah cut nica off
“Hold on, why would jia drink juice for our bonding night?"
“I don’t know but skye told me something that i don’t want to tell anybody coz’ its not my story to tell"
“okay continue"
“Here’s the thing, we drank all the juices that jia bought, we kind of wanted to buy some but our apartment is way too far from the grocery store and none of us have a car here, we have but jia’s kinda asleep at my room now"
“I can’t help guys, i just took a cab just to get here"
Suddenly a loud bang of door was heard
It was jeo, she was panting and sweating heavily
“Jeo? Bro? What happened to you" Dash Said while stifling laugh"
“I wish someone told me that there’s a doberman outside? That dog chased me! “
Jeo said while she slumps her body on the floor
" HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA you fool”
" Benny is not that big”
" Here, drink water, nica might tell you something that can make you stand up there” the three youngest, teased jeo all the way
" Jeo, baby, can I ask you a favor?”
" Sure baby go ahead” jeo said while panting hard
“Here’s the thing, we kind of drank jia’s juices that she bought a while ago, can you go out and buy some more? Jia might kill us if she saw what happened” nica said
" Huh? Why would that tiny human drink juice? She got the strongest liver among us and also her love for beer is unmatched”
“Yes baby, but it’s not my story to tell so hehe, and btw here’s the money and bring two companies to help you carry things since you’ll be going to the store, you might need some hands to carry those” nica said then proceeds to kiss jeo on the lips
“Noted baby, Micah, Since you’re the only who’s standing right now, you’ll come with me”
“Why me? The kids are there, go pick them up" micah roller her eyes
“Dash? If i would pick dash, she would just sleep at the back of the car, i f i would pick cloude? We can’t buy liqour at that point"
“Why?"
“They won’t sell liquor to minors"
" Jeo you crazy ass” cloude threw a pillow at jeo
Everybody laughed with cloude’s remarks on jeo’s sudden diss to her
“What about tasha?”
“She’s just gonna be on her phone talking to dash and to the other people”
“What i need is a calm and neutral company"
“Why not skye?"
“Micah for the love of god, don’t wake her up, It's a good thing that she’s asleep”
“Fine" micah rolled her eyes on jeo and Nica
Micah walked through the sofa where the sleeping maze is
She tapped maze’s shoulder and thank god she wake up that easily
" Maze, let’s go we’re going out”
“You’re crazy, when did you even get here? You didn’t even talk or make a dramatic entrance?” i said while rubbing my eyes
“Tell that to you airpods who got max volume"
Maze rolled her eyes with Jeo’s remarks
The kids chuckled a laugh because they are a bunch of losers
Maze can you hurry up? We might got caught in the traffic"
“Alright alright, Jeo looks like a shit"
Jeo sighed in defeat and Nica kissed her lover and told them take care
Little did they know that jia heard everything from all the commotion outside, she didn’t move a muscle because she feels so tired and at the same time Maze’s voice is comforting for her
Jia fell asleep again after her three friends left the flat
Momo’s POV
I’m at jeo’s car right now, micah sat in the back of the car and lay down there, I had no choice but to sit next to jeo
“Jeo, can you tell, why did we go out? I’m still confused coz’ micah woke me up and i found myself riding your car" i said while rubbing my eyes
“Well, nica told me to buy jia’s juice and and some chips, because while they’re waiting for micah to arrive they decided to eat some of the chips and drink some of the juices while playing, Nica stood up to get more, only to find out that the paper bag where the juices came from just flew across the room” Jeo said while navigating the parking area
“Maybe Jia got a girlfriend that didn’t allowed her to drink” micah said that startled us because we thought she was sound asleep
“Micah, if you’re gonna wake up and that's the only thing that you’ll say? Just don’t wake up at all” i said with frustration in my voice
“You know what maze? I think micah’s got a point. I mean you never restricted her from drinking, hell yeah you would gladly pour her beer on a shot glass" jeo said while focusing on the road
“Right jeo? Because c’mon why would jia drink a juice on a beer friday night? Maybe because her new girlfriend didn’t allowed her to drink, that’s why” Micah said with full of confidence
Little did maze know that jia was head over heels for her, Her friends is just fooling her around, this will serves as a push for them to talk, it's been a year since they broke up, and they deserve each other, It’s just Jia, She messed up real bad that’s why Maze left her but maze— She still loves her baobei, she really does, and nothing changes even after a year of being apart from each other
Maze was quiet the whole ride, her two friends felt her quietness and they felt bad because her mood may affect the bond later or she will set aside her feeling for the sake of our friendship
Jeo pulled up on a parking space and told us to get out of the car
We went out of the car and got inside of the grocery store, Micah suddenly grabbed a cart and started to walk
“Micah you fool, why did you get a cart, we’re just gonna get a juice" jeo nagged at micah when she saw micah grabbing a shopping cart
" Shut up, i’ll be the one that’s gonna pay for this and also for Jia’s juice” micah said while looking for something to eat
“What kind of juice does that small girl want?" Jeo asked while pushing a cart
“ Maze ask jia what kind of juice does she wants, i left my phone at your apartment"
“Why can’t micah call her?"
“Fool, i only brought my wallet, Hurry up, you’ll just gonna message her, It’s impossible to hold someone’s imessage right?” Micah teases me
“Micah i swear to god, if maze cry like a baby in here? I would gladly put you here in the cart, if you won’t stop teasing her” Jeo threatened her micah rolled her eyes
“Alright, alright" i rolled my eyes and grabbed my phone from my pocket

Hi Jia, we’re at the grocery store uhm, they kind of drank your Juices, I was just going to ask what kind of juice is that? Thank you!
[Jia]:
Hello maze! Uhm any juice would do but i prefer the lemon flavored ones and also can you grab some bread and pastries? Thank you!

“jia said she preferred the lemon flavored ones and she said to grab some bread and pastries” i said while jittering my phone charm
“Then let's get to the bread section and after that we’ll go the beverages” Jeo said, She loves planning like this
" Lemme grab some things hold on” micah said while walking away
We stopped in the middle of the grocery store just to wait for micah
She came back with a bunch of strawberries(?)
“Micah, who on earth would eat a bunch of strawberries??” jeo said while helping micah to put the strawberries in the cart
" Cloude.” mica said while rummaging on her purse to get her card
Jeo looked at me with a weird kind of smile, we’re thinking the same thing
“it's for cloude ooohhhh” jeo teased micah
" Shut up, it’s like you didn’t do this when you’re courting nics. She said she likes purple iphone and the next thing we know, YOU ALREADY BOUGHT THE IPHONE” Micah dissed jeo
" Let’s just go” jeo said with red face
We grabbed bread and pastries and also 2 boxes of lemon flavored drinks for us, just in case
Micah paid for all of it, we just used nica’s money for the gas
“You know, i wondered too why jia stopped drinking" micah said while eating chips at the back
“I wondered too, she’s not the type of person who’s gonna change for no good reason" jeo said while looking at the road
“I feel like something shifted"
Jeo and micah are having this conversation and i also wondered too
“Maze? You okay? You’re zoning out” micah looked at me with concern
" Mhm, I just wondered also why jia didn’t want to drink with us”
" I’m her bestfriend but i don’t know what’s going on with her rn” jeo said while entering the parking space of our apartment
“ Jeo, do you think Jia's in love? I mean she doesn’t drink anymore, That’s new”
We got out of the car and some security personnels helped us to carry this boxes upstairs
“ I guess so” Jeo answered while the elevator closes
My mind got clouded with their conversation
What if Jia’s already in love
Can’t help but to think
We entered the apartment and i saw jia helping tasha on some thing that i can’t understand, i roamed my eyes trying to look for Skye
“Maze? Are you looking for skye?" Jia asked me and suddenly the whole room have gone quiet
“Yep, where is she?" I asked back
“ As far as i know she’s currently sleeping at your room" jia answered me back
“ How can that girl sleep through an entire day, she didn’t even eat!" Nica said
“ Hold on" tasha said
“Why?"
“Dash, where did you sleep last night? As far as i know, your house is in front of this building and yet you manage to be with us?” Tasha said
“Uh?"
“You’re right, when i fetched skye earlier she was so tired and she smelled like dash to”
Nica went to the kitchen and got some food for dash
" Here dash, eat some food”
"Why did you feed her!” jeo said
" Because of her, Skye is complete shut down, No noisy ass around and most of all no chaotic shenanigans is happening”
" Yeah same thoughts” micah said while sinking herself on the couch
“Jia, could you wake up skye so that we could eat dinner before we waste our liver?
I widened my eyes at nica, Jia’s picture and our pictures is still in my room
Nica got my message and before jia could stand up, she said something
“Jia, you know what? Nevermind, just help me put some plates and utensils, Maze you can wake her up and the kids can help me put the dishes in the table, Jeo and Micah can rest”
Nica commanded all of us and we followed her
I went to my room and wake Skye up
“Skye, skye, Wake up. We’re going to eat dinner”
" Alright, alright, Where did you guys go?"
“We went to buy juice, it turns out nica and the kids finished all the juices that jia bought"
“Ah okay"
“Did Jia mention something about drinking when she fetched you?”
“Nah, plus i don’t even remember anything that jia said to me earlier, i was sleepy and tired" Skye said while yawning
I nodded and went out of the room and skye sat beside dash
(Seating arrangements: Nics - Jeo - Cloude - Micah - Skye - Dash - Empty Chair - Jia - Tasha)
I have no choice but to sit in between dash and Jia
We started eating and everything was great, I reached out for the plate of something that nics cooked, But jia stopped me in the middle of lifting it
“It has cucumbers in it" Jia said i immediately put the plate down, jia handed me a plate of food that she thinks i like, She’s not wrong
Subtle glances, Unnoticed acts of services and other things that jia usually does when we’re still together
We finished eating and jia initiated that she would wash the dishes and i said i’ll put the plates out after she washes them
Suddenly jia left the kitchen and she put some dog food on my dog’s bowl and some of their favorite meat, not gonna lie, She remembered everything that my dogs eat
We did our task diligently, while them are bickering on what movie we’ll watch
We tidied everything up in the kitchen and we proceeded to go to the living room to watch some movies to pass the time
We were in the middle of watching a movie, Jia suddenly stood up and we watched her left the living room to enter Nica’s room to grab a blanket, I thought it’s for herself but she gave it to me
“You’re shivering maze" she gave it to me nonchalantly
We continued watching until the film ended
Cloude and tasha stood up to set the table for our drinking sesh
We took the beer out and juices and some chips to start the our friday night bonding
We’re a bit tipsy when suddenly jeo started a game
“Let’s play truth or dare spin the bottle” jeo said and everybody agreed on the game
It was a good one, most of the time it was dash who always got the worst dares
Dash spinned the bottle and the mouth ends (The one who’s gonna ask) was on me and the butt end was on Jia, Couple of eyes are on us, waiting for someone to drop the bomb
“Jia, truth or dare?" I asked her
I know jia’s gonna play safe on this one
“Dare" Jia answered
“Draw something on micah’s face"
“ Maze you little sh*t" we started laughing when jia started to draw on micah’s face
It’s currently 12mn and all of them are drunk and passed out, I was just tipsy and stuff”
I saw Jia cleaning up the bottles and some of the cups and plastics that scattered all around the floor. After she’s done cleaning up, she grabs a couple of juices and stands at the balcony. I think this is my chance to talk to her.
I get up and walked towards the balcony, i closed the glass door behind us, She looked behind her and she saw me closing the door
“Hey! Want some juice?"
“Sure" she gave me one and opened it
“Can I ask you a question?"
She sipped some of the juice before answering
“ Shoot!”
“ Why didn’t you drink earlier? This is your haven right?”
Jia took a sip of her drink before answering
" That was before maze” jia answered while looking at me
" Huh?” I answered with puzzled look
“ Wanna know the reason why?"
“I’m scared to know it but okay"
“I quit drinking, maze"
“Why? Does your girl made you do that?"
“What girl? I don’t have a girlfriend, Maze"
" Huh? But jeo and micah said -”
“I’m still into you, maze”
" But why did you quit drinking”
" For you”
" For me?”
" Yeah”
" why?”
We’re having this conversation while drinking juice, this is much better than a beer
“I promised myself that i’ll stopped drinking" She drank first before continuing her sentence
“ I want to be sober when i get back to you, so i’m making myself a better person, For me, for u and for us, Maze"
“You did that? But why?"
“I still love you, Maze. I’m still blaming myself for the things that happened between us, I wasn’t a better girlfriend for you and yet you managed to stay even though I am a hard headed person.”
I can see her tears flowing down her cheeks
“ After we broke up, I cut down my alcohol intake. I replaced my beers with water and juices.”
None of our friends knows this
“At first it was a tempting one but whenever i looked at my lockscreen, i immediately turned down some offers to some drinking nights at my work”
She finished drinking her last juice and i’m still on my first can
She leaned on the balcony rails and looked at me
“It's not fixing that you’re gone, maze. But i’m fixing myself for you”
" But why?”
" You’re the reason, I quit drinking" Jia said and left the balcony as i sat on one of the chairs outside
Jia came back with coffees on her hand
“Here, drink this to lose hangover"
“Jia"
“Hm?"
“Can you come home?"
“What do you mean maze?"
“I missed my baobei" i said while stiffling my sobs
“ Jia i’m sorry if i left you, If only i stayed and helped you grow, we wouldn’t be like this"
“Sssshhh, it’s not your fault, maze. I messed up real bad"
She hugged me while the sun rises up
Meanwhile the girls inside
“Should we tell them that we’re awake and we can see their gayness first thing in the morning?" Micah said while looking at them intently and she fixed cloude’s blanket
“Look who’s talking" nica said and throw a pillow at micah
“Gays pls stop, let them fix their unresolved sh*t, we all know that maze has a lot of questions in her mind right now"
“How?"
“ Jia told me everything after she fetched me"
“Told you abt?"
“She quit drinking"
“For whom?" Micah shouted in a whispered manner
“For her, for maze, for them, It turns out she promised herself that she would change for maze and she actually did”
After quite some time, the girls fell asleep while maze and jia are talking outside
They said love is sweeter the second time around and they were right
