Work Text:
Success was the only thing Mirio wanted for anyone, as long as it made them smile and feel good inside. He knew how good it felt, especially because he grew to be in the Big Three of U.A. It's the best feeling ever, seriously.
He wanted success for his friends the most, they deserve it because they put up with him through his awkward (and embarrassing) stages. Well, all of them had awkward stages, but still.
He knew success like the back of his hand, and it was hard work to get to know it. He loved the feeling he got when people looked up to him, and when he inspired people. Mirio would never get bored of that feeling, especially now that Nighteye is gone, he knew it'd make him happy, and that gave him comfort.
Ever since he was a kid, that's all he wanted. And when he met Tamaki he wanted it even more, they literally grew up together. Running through the hallways together, testing out their Quirks in weird but funny ways, he's always loved seeing even a glimpse of a smile on his face, no matter how dumb it made him look. He wouldn't even know where he'd be without him. Or Nejire for that fact, she laughed at his jokes out loud sometimes, no matter how stupid they are. That feels great too, and it definitely helped his confidence and his motivation.
Mirio goes a full run through of his life every night before he goes to bed. He thinks it's appreciative and stress relieving. Even though he's had mistakes, he's had so many people help him through them. He just can't help but be thankful and happy for them. Mirio would give all his hard earned medals to everyone who's helped him because they were the people who got him where he was now.
He's even ranted to Tamaki in the middle of the night about it, who was half asleep, and probably couldn't even register what he was saying anyway, Tamaki was more focused on the feeling of fingers carding through his hair anyway.
