Chapter Text
gojo had it all: the looks, the popularity, the charisma, and most of all, he had the money.
all of those things made gojo the most talked about guy on campus; but, it also made geto the most talked about guy on campus.
it’s not like gojo enjoyed and wanted the attention at all. he just fed into it!
and according to geto, he fed into it too much.
“what’s wrong with having fun!?” gojo questioned as they walked towards the very place they dressed to go to: school.
”satoru..i think we have two definitions of fun.”
gojo’s eyebrow quirked up.
”what i mean is that..dancing with girls, going to parties and giving them that one look ties into your party boy lifestyle.”
gojo chuckled, his head tilting back as he closed his eyes.
”if you were me for a day, what would you do?”
suguru took his time thinking it.
”i dunno. i’d probably just go out a lot.”
”exactly! i do that! it’s just that i’m so irresistible that girls like me!”
“not only girls satoru…”
”men too?”
geto nodded before opening the door for gojo.
”damn, maybe i am actually irresistible.” gojo joked while turning around to see geto as he walked.
”it doesn’t bother you?”
gojo’s expression changed into one of confusion.
”what does?”
geto’s eyes shifted away from gojo’s, “that guys like you?”
gojo blinked before smiling to himself.
”nah. i don’t really consider gender when i find someone attractive. if a guy who i thought was hot danced with me, id probably act the same way as usual”
geto nodded which let gojo know that he had nothing else to say.
it was kind of amazing how well geto and gojo knew each other. while they knew each others favorite color and favorite foods, they also knew when to do something and how the other was feeling.
”it’s kind of romantic.” shoko said as she blew out the smoke from her cigarette.
shoko was geto and gojo’s seat partner from primary school. ever since then, they all began to hang out with each other as a trio.
”what is?” gojo responded as peaked down.
shoko looked down with gojo who was staring down at the scenery of the school campus. they were on the balcony of gojo and geto’s dorm.
”you and geto’s weird way of talking about each other.”
“what’s weird about it?”
“the way you guys speak as if the words “i love you” ceased to exist.”
gojo turned to look at shoko who smiled to herself.
”you love him, right?”
gojo for the first time in his life was speechless.
“i…”
shoko turned to meet his eyes, slowly blinking as he tried to speak.
”i don’t know.”
shoko nodded before inhaling her cigarette one more time. she blew out the smoke and looked back into gojo’s eyes.
”if suguru told you to stop going out to the parties, stop flirting with girls and only stay with him, would you listen?”
gojo didn’t know how to respond.
shoko grinned and pushed her cigarette into the ashtray and opened the door back into the room.
“i’m heading back to my room, bye!”
shoko’s words really stayed on gojo’s mind.
it wasn’t because he didn’t know how he felt about geto. no, he knew that very well. he knew that it wasn’t just friendship and that it was not just a crush. he’s felt this way since he was 16 and sharing a room with geto on the junior field trip. even now that he’s a college student, he’s still feeling that feeling of wanting him.
”satoru?” geto called softly.
gojo laid awake, staring at the ceiling with his hands supporting his head.
”are you asleep?” geto asked from his bed.
”yeah.”
”it’s a friday night.”
“yes, i know.”
there was a brief silence before geto started up again.
”why aren’t you going out?”
gojo can’t say that it’s because of what shoko said.
”i didn’t feel like partying tonight.”
geto turned on the light, seeing gojo’s eyes focused on above.
“do you wanna go to the sumida river?”
the river used to be gojo and geto’s favorite spot to hang out back in high-school. the conversation flowed like usual, gojo’s energetic personality showed in spite of his mind still being affected by shoko’s previous words.
“did shoko come over recently?”
“yeah. she stopped by before you came back.”
geto nodded.
”how’d you know?”
geto turned to look at gojo, “you smelled differently.”
gojo laughed with geto.
”how romantic.”
“shoko, you should definitely come with us to karaoke”
”what are you going to karaoke for? you can’t sing?” shoko questioned while chuckling.
“why not? it’s fun.”
”poor geto, maybe he’s going to wear ear plugs while you serenade him.”
”but i want you to go with us. it’ll be even more fun with you singing with us!”
“no way! i wouldn’t want to homewreck your precious date and relationship.” shoko replied with a laugh.
“what are you two even talking about?”
shoko turned to look at gojo who grinned before speaking.
”nothing!”
geto smiled before his eyes shifted to shoko who in return shrugged.
”let’s get outta here! shoko’s gonna get us sick with her cigarettes!” gojo teased before grabbing geto’s hand and pulling him away.
”see you.” geto waved.
shoko scoffed before waving back, a smirk creeping on her face while doing so.
karaoke was perfectly normal at first. it was spent with geto trying to not die laughing at gojo’s voice cracks while screaming out love songs.
”oh satoru! i’m crying” geto let out as she tried to stop laughing.
with the song ending, gojo sat back down to take a breather.
”my vocal cords feel like total shit now” gojo said hoarsely.
“i can tell.”
suddenly a song began to play which prompted suguru to grab a mic.
”did you queue this?” gojo asked.
geto nodded before starting to sing the lyrics.
it felt as if gojo was in another word. geto’s light and sweet voice began to sing the most delicate words. gojo turned to stare at geto as he sung with his eyes closed. the most beautiful sight to gojo was gojo’s side profile.
there was something about it. maybe it was the song, his voice, or his beauty that made gojo seriously lose his mind.
gojo pushed the mic from geto’s hands while grabbing his face to pull him into a kiss.
gojo’s ears rang with the instrumental of the ballad geto was singing. however, he didn’t feel geto kiss him back whatsoever which prompted him to let go of him and pull away.
geto stared at gojo, his eyes focusing on the crystal blue eyes gojo seemed to possess.
but before gojo could apologize, geto pulled him back to meet him for another kiss.
this kiss was as gentle as geto’s voice. to gojo, geto kissed just like he called his name. there was no aggression behind it, just pure warmth that gojo knew could never be replicated.
gojo pulled geto down on top of him as he laid back, their hands finding their way to each others face and hair.
gojo loved geto’s gentleness; however, his own passion and desire of wanting to just be his overthrew his control.
geto’s head tilted as he kissed gojo deeper, feeling each others heat radiate from their bodies. they both didn’t want to pull away to breathe. they desperately wanted the other to stay here with them.
geto pulled away first, seeing gojo’s lips red and puffy.
he smiled as he touched gojo’s face, his eyes slowly moving to look into gojo’s.
gojo had no idea what to say.
“are you thinking?” geto asked.
gojo nodded, slowly breathing as he felt geto’s hands on his skin.
with a smile, geto got off of gojo and helped him sit up.
gojo watched as geto cleaned up the room.
”how do you tell your best friend that you’re in love with them..” gojo thought to himself as his eyes followed geto.
“and how do you tell them that you’ll only love them?”
since that kiss at the karaoke, geto’s been absolutely normal. on the other hand, gojo has been acting like a teenager who has a crush for the first time.
“so you kissed him?” shoko asked.
”yeah.” gojo confirmed.
”and you’re the one acting like he kissed you?”
“yup.”
shoko burst out laughing, trying to not fall out of her chair.
”hey its not funny!” gojo defending himself.
”it is when you realize that you guys are turning 19 this year.”
gojo sighed before leaning back in his chair, “what do i do?”
”just tell him how you’re feeling.” shoko answered.
”suguru doesn’t like me back. it’s so obvious!” he whined.
”you’re seriously a fucking idiot.” shoko said while shaking her head.
”no i’m not!”
”its so obvious he likes you! if anything, it’s not at all obvious that you like him. you’re the party boy who talks to everyone and makes out with everyone so if i was him, i’d probably think that you didn’t like me whatsoever and wanted to just kiss me because you were lonely.”
gojo shrieked, “wait you’re right!”
”i know i am.”
shoko pushed in the cafe seat and dragged gojo out.
”go tell him your feelings now. the next time you bring him up, it better be with news that you told him how you felt.”
shoko turned to walk the other way and waved at gojo for good luck.
”wait shoko…!”
she disappeared in the crowd.
gojo murmured to himself and sighed before walking towards the campus.
he opened the door to see geto at his desk, presumably studying.
he noticed geto wearing earbuds and decided to make use of it.
”suguru!”
geto didn’t respond and continued to study.
”can you hear me?”
geto stayed silent as he wrote on his papers.
”i like you.”
suddenly, his pencil stopped writing.
gojo’s eyes widened, and he covered his mouth.
geto turned his chair to face gojo, a smirk on his face.
“i thought you couldn’t hear?” gojo asked.
”my earbuds aren’t even plugged in yet?” geto replied with a chuckle.
aw fuck. gojo just ruined his most important moment yet: his first confession.
theres no time to regret anything now. his confidence may run out if he wastes time.
“so….whats your answer?” gojo asked awkwardly.
“hm…”
gojo prayed to the gods, even if sometimes he didn’t believe in them.
”let’s go out.” geto said.
lets go out. let’s go out. let’s go out!
“together?”
”yes. together.”
