Work Text:

It was already the middle of the night. All the assistants had gone home a long time ago, and even the lights in the studio were off. Only one lamp above one table was still working - it was Horikoshi, who stayed late again. This was the third or fourth time in a week -he, in principle, often stayed longer. What could he do if inspiration usually visits him in the late afternoon, when he is alone in the studio, and if he does not quickly draw a couple of panels for the new chapter of "My Hero Academy", he will not be able to sleep peacefully?

The suddenly switched on general light hit his eyes for a second, and Horikoshi looked up from sketching to turn around and see who had come. He was even scared for a second - who could come in at such a late hour?

"I knew I'd find you here."

"Gege, it's you. Scared me," the man exhaled calmly and smiled.

"You're sitting here at night again. Didn't you think, for example, to come home, have dinner with me, and then go to bed? The working day ended about four hours ago." Gege put his hands on Horikoshi's shoulders and looked at the new drawings. "You already have health problems. If you keep refining so much, the world will never know if Deku has become the greatest hero. Otherwise, I will have to finish writing the "Hero Academy", and your fans will not survive my version of the ending," he grinned.

"Don't lecture someone who is older than you." All in all, that was his only argument right now. His partner was absolutely right, it's just that someone didn't want to admit it.

"My dear, you know that this won't work for me." Gege lightly kissed Horikoshi on his shaggy head. "Either we're going home together now, or we're going home together, but I'm carrying you there by force. I've made dinner, by the way." As a confirmation of the seriousness of his intentions, Gege stretched and turned off the small table lamp. Horikoshi had no choice but to silently agree, put away his drawings and get ready to go home. He was already feeling very tired, and he really understood that this might not have the best effect on his already weak health. They left the studio and went home along a quiet street – even the most overworking Japanese had been sleeping in their homes for a long time, even a rare car had not passed. Dinner was really waiting at home – it had already cooled down, so they reheated it. Then Gege persuaded Horikoshi to take a shower, and now he was sitting and combing his long fluffy hair, arguing that he just wanted to help his partner relax even more.
"Thank you for taking care of me" - Horikoshi's eyes were already closing, he wanted to sleep too much. "Without you, I would probably have already gone to the hospital because of overwork."

"Yes, you're right. I know you – just give you the will to work longer, and that's it, there will be no stopping. Creative people are all like that," Gege smiled and put down the comb. "Sleep?"

"Yes."

Gege went to the kitchen to pour water and put it on the bedside table, and when he returned, his partner was already asleep on his side of the bed, hugging the edge of the blanket.

"Good night, Hori. And don't think that I'll wake you up early tomorrow," Gege smiled and lay down next to him, only to take him in his arms a second later and kiss the top of his head again. An indistinct sniffling answered him.
