“I’ve always wanted to try this,” Tangle said, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she adjusted her goggles.
Sonic grinned, his quills bristling in the cold. “Snowboarding’s a blast. You’re gonna love it! Just follow my lead, and we’ll be shredding these slopes in no time.”
Tangle nodded, eager to get started. “Let’s do this!”
With a quick hop, Sonic positioned his board at the top of the slope, giving Tangle a thumbs-up before launching himself down the mountain. The wind whipped past him as he carved through the snow, effortlessly navigating the twists and turns.
Tangle watched Sonic for a moment, taking a deep breath before pushing off with her board. She immediately felt the thrill as she picked up speed, the snow crunching beneath her. Her tail helped her balance as she leaned into the turns, mimicking Sonic’s movements.
“Woohoo!” Tangle shouted, the rush of adrenaline making her heart race.
Sonic glanced back, grinning when he saw Tangle keeping up with ease. “You’re doing great, Tangle! Try hitting that ramp up ahead!”
Tangle’s eyes widened as she spotted the ramp Sonic was referring to—a steep incline of packed snow that promised a spectacular jump. With a determined look, she bent her knees and aimed straight for it.
Sonic reached the ramp first, launching himself into the air with a stylish flip before landing smoothly on the slope below. Tangle followed, her heart pounding as she flew off the ramp. She twisted in the air, her tail spiraling behind her as she executed a perfect 360 spin, landing gracefully on her board.
“Nice move!” Sonic called out, clearly impressed.
Tangle beamed, feeling a surge of confidence. “This is amazing! I didn’t know snowboarding could be this much fun!”
They continued down the mountain, racing each other through the trees and over icy patches, laughing as they went. The slope grew steeper, and the challenges more intense, but Tangle kept up with Sonic every step of the way, her natural agility giving her an edge.
As they neared the bottom of the mountain, Sonic spotted a particularly tricky section of the slope—a narrow path lined with rocks and sharp turns. He glanced at Tangle, a competitive glint in his eye. “Think you can handle the black diamond run?”
Tangle smirked, her tail flicking with excitement. “Bring it on, Sonic. I’m not backing down!”
They both took off toward the black diamond run, weaving through the tight turns and dodging obstacles with precision. The path was challenging, but Sonic and Tangle were in sync, pushing each other to go faster and take bigger risks.
As they reached the final stretch, the trees opened up to reveal a wide, untouched expanse of powdery snow. Sonic and Tangle exchanged a quick glance before simultaneously launching into a series of tricks—spins, flips, and even a daring tail grab from Tangle.
They landed side by side, skidding to a stop at the bottom of the slope, both of them out of breath and grinning from ear to ear.
“That was incredible!” Tangle exclaimed, her cheeks flushed from the cold and excitement.
Sonic nodded, his own grin just as wide. “You really nailed it out there, Tangle. I think you’ve got the hang of snowboarding.”
Tangle laughed, playfully nudging Sonic with her shoulder. “I had a great teacher. We should do this more often!”
Sonic chuckled, looking out at the snowy landscape. “Definitely. But next time, we’ll have to find an even bigger mountain to conquer.”
As the sun began to set, casting a warm, golden light over the snow-covered peaks, Sonic and Tangle sat down in the snow, taking a moment to catch their breath and enjoy the view. The day had been filled with fun, excitement, and the thrill of the slopes—a perfect snowboarding adventure.
“Thanks for today, Sonic,” Tangle said softly, her voice filled with genuine gratitude. “This was one of the best days ever.”
Sonic smiled, giving her a light punch on the arm. “Anytime, Tangle. There’s plenty more fun to be had out there, and I’m glad you’re along for the ride.”
