Chapter Text

"Ishigami, can you go get me some juice?" Miko asked as it was lunchtime. "Sure," said Ishigami as he walked out of the classroom. "Geez what a mess I got myself into," Ishigami thought as a lot was going through his mind following past events that had occurred.

Flashback to Christmas Eve

"I`m sorry, but going out is just not an option now," said Tsubame as the two were alone in a hotel room on Christmas Eve and in a compromising position. "What?" Ishigami asked seeming confused. "I`ll be graduating soon, so it`ll be tough to go out," said Tsubame. "So what was all this? Was this just a thank you for saying that I liked you" Ishigami said as his mood quickly changed. "I wasn't sure how to answer you, but I felt that I should do this much for you" Tsubame replied which was all Ishigami needed to hear to get the message as he got off of Tsubame, "There`s a present for you, open it when you get the chance," said Ishigami as he grabbed his things,

"Wait Yu-Kun, let's open it together" Tsubame pleaded, but the damage was already done, "Sorry, I can't stay," said Ishigami as he walked away towards the stairs in anger. "Was this always it? Was I being played the whole time, this was like saying I`ll sleep with you because I feel sorry for you" Ishigami thought in rage. "Screw this, I don't want to live anymore, my love life has been nothing but a disaster," Ishigami thought as he leaned forward towards the stairs hoping it would put him out of his misery,

"Wait what`s going on?" Ishigami thought as he opened his eyes and realized that he was completely unscathed, "Ishigami, you idiot, dying on Christmas Eve, that`s the saddest thing I've ever seen," said Miko as she had shielded Ishigami from any harm. "Miko, but why?" Ishigami as. "Wipe the tears off your eyes, if anything I should be crying with the pain I`m in," said Miko as she winced a bit. "Right, I need to take you to the hospital," Ishigami said as he gathered himself and took Miko to the nearest elevator.

"Damn why did things have to end up this way, me and my gloomy self," Ishigami thought as he grabbed the drinks from the machine. "Yu-Kun?" a familiar voice called out. "Oh Tsubame-senpai, what`s up?" said Ishigami as Tsubame walked up to him. "How was your break?" Tsubame asked. "Same old, didn't do much other than buying some new video games, you?" Ishigami replied, "I traveled a bit, I heard Miko broke her arm, I hope she's alright" Tsubame pointed out much to the surprise of Ishigami. "Yeah, it's not too serious," said Ishigami as in reality he was the reason why Miko got hurt in the first place. "Yu, listen about what happened during…" Tsubame started to say before Ishigami stopped her, "I`m not mad at you, you said what you wanted to say me getting upset would make me a massive jerk, we can still be friends hopefully, I can become a better person" said Ishigami. "Thank you Yu-Kun," said Tsubame. "Anyways, I gotta get back to my classroom, see you around," said Ishigami as he walked away and headed back to the classroom. "This isn`t good, it seems that Tsubame and Ishigami might not be a thing anymore, she`s going to figure out soon," a mysterious spectacled figure thought as she was listening in.

"What took you so long?" Miko asked as Ishigami walked into the classroom, "Oh, I was talking with Tsubame," said Ishigami as he took a seat. "You're fine with talking to her after what happened?" Miko asked as Ishigami put a straw through the juice. "Yeah I`m not gonna act all depressed just cause she rejected me," said Ishigami as he opened his drink. "Are you sure about that?" Miko asked. "Positive" Ishigami replied as he started eating his lunch."He`s probably still thinking about her" Miko thought as she knew that Ishigami wasn`t just going to forget about Tsubame that easily.

That was a lie, despite being rejected by Tsubame, Ishigami still has feelings for Tsubame

"Man, why does love have to be so painful?" Ishigami thought as he was sitting through a Student Council meeting. "I guess things aren't all sunshine and rainbows with love, these damn normies make it seem so easy," said Ishigami as he was still spaced out. "Earth to Ishigami? Ishigami, are you there?" Kaguya said as she noticed that Ishigami wasn`t really participating in the meeting. "Yeah I`m good, what were you saying?" Ishigami asked as he recomposed himself to which Chika had a big grin on her face. "Ishigami`s thinking about Tsubame so hard he can`t focus," said Chika as she laughed, which seemed to upset Ishigami. "Enough about that! Give me a break!" Ishigami shouted much to the surprise of the Student Council. "I'm gonna cool down," said Ishigami as he quickly excused himself from the room. "I`m not one to scold anyone, but that was pretty unnecessary of you Fujiwara, this is tough on Ishigami," said Kaguya. "You need to apologize to him, Fujiwara. I'm gonna check on him," Miyuki said as he quickly left the room.

"You alright Ishigami?" Miyuki asked as he noticed Ishigami sitting under a tree alone. "Yeah I'm good just wanted to be alone for a bit," Ishigami replied as Miyuki laid down next to him. "I heard what happened with you and Tsubame, it must have been tough to swallow, rejection is never an easy thing to swallow," said Miyuki. "I guess so, guess there's nothing else that can be done about it," said Ishigami. "So are you still going to try again?" Miyuki asked as he knew deep down that Ishigami wasn`t ready to give up, but that was uncertain. "Don`t know yet, I should give her some space before I try again or just stop altogether," said Ishigami. "I`m not too sure what you plan to do, but whatever you do, we`ll have your back, just don`t do anything reckless," said Miyuki. "Thanks," said Ishigami as he smiled. "No problem, why don't we head back to the Student Council Room? Don`t want to keep the others waiting too long," said Miyuki as he extended his hand out to Ishigami. "Yeah," said Ishigami as Miyuki pulled him up and they walked back to the Student Council Room.

Later

"Guess I`ll go home soon," said Ishigami as he headed back to the Student Council Room as it was the end of the day. "Miko, what are you still doing here?" Ishigami asked as he noticed that everyone, but Miko had gone home already. "Gonna finish up writing the disciplinary reports today, I swear students these days are so carefree," said Miko as she was writing her usual reports. "Geez loosen up a bit, you`re gonna stress yourself out more," said Ishigami as he grabbed his bag. "That's not really your concern," said Miko to which Ishigami sighed, same old Miko. "Wanna get a bite on the way home?" Ishigami asked much to the surprise of Miko. "Ishigami asking me to join him for dinner? Now, this is weird" Miko thought." Yeah sure, let me finish up first," said Miko as Ishigami sat on the couch waiting for her to finish the reports.

Later at McDonald's

"This is quite rare of you, you never asked any of us to come eat with you," said Miko as she took a bite of her burger. "You seemed hungry and I wanted some company," said Ishigami as he took a bite of his fries. "Are you still bothered about Tsubame-senpai?" Miko asked. Not really" said Ishigami. "You seemed bothered when Fujiwara-senpai made a comment about Tsubame, normally it never bothers you," said Miko to which Ishigami sighed. "Alright, maybe I'm a bit bummed about it," said Ishigami. "Are you happy with the way things are now?" Miko asked which caught Ishigami`s attention.

"To be honest, not really, but is there anything I can really do?" Ishigami replied. "You can either hope that Tsubame-senpai will change her mind by some miracle or just accept the reality that you have to move on," said Miko. "What do you mean by that?" Ishigami asked. "Ishigami, you have to face reality, what happened between you two is irreversible, she won`t change her mind once she`s said all that," said Miko. "How do you know that?" Ishigami asked seeming conflicted, "Even if Tsubame changed her mind, you`d have to deal with all types of issues of dating an older girl, long-distance, can you handle not being able to see her all the time?" Miko explained. "Guess I never really thought about all that, this is tougher than I thought," said Ishigami as he took a sip of his drink as it seemed that Miko had made her point. "Can you get me a cola? I`m kinda thirsty" Miko asked, "Sure," said Ishigami as he got up. "Maybe this injury isn`t so bad, I`ve got Ishigami at my fingertips," Miko thought with a devious look in her eyes, "Maybe now I can even... no-no this Ishigami we`re talking about," Miko thought as she turned red.

There`s no use hiding it Miko, the whole fanbase knows that you like Ishigami

"See you tomorrow," said Miko as the two split as they headed home in separate directions. "Well I did something I never thought I would do, I hung out with Iino of all people, guess the world really does work in strange ways." Ishigami thought as he got on the train.

8:30 pm

"I`m home," said Ishigami as he opened the door to his house. "Oh welcome home Yu, you`re quite late," said Mrs. Ishigami as Ishigami took off his shoes. "Yeah, I had dinner with some friends," said Ishigami as he grabbed a drink from the fridge before heading into his room. "What do I want to do?" Ishigami said as he lay on his bed pondering what had happened today. "Tsubame-senpai will graduate soon meaning our relationship will be different and a dating relationship is out of the question heck it might be tough to keep communication with each other". Ishigami thought.

"Maybe Miko is right, it might be best to just give up pursuing her, it`ll be tough changing her mind," Ishigami thought as his talk with Miko was starting to make sense. "Whatever, I deal with this another time, for now, time for video games," said Ishigami as he turned on his Ps4 and spent the rest of the night playing video games.

Hope you all enjoyed the chapter. With the MikoIshi ship sailing in the manga, I thought it was best to write a new fanfic revolving around these two, this one might update slower than my current Kaguya same fanfic so expect delays in updates.

"Hey Miko, how`s your arm?" Rei asked as she walked up to Miko as it was lunchtime. "It still hurts, but it`s getting better" Miko replied as Ishigami came back with a drink." Here I got you your drink," said Ishigami. "Can you open it for me?" Miko asked to which Ishigami did as he was told. "Here," said Ishigami as he put the drink to Miko`s mouth to which she sipped.

"I`m gonna take care of some business, let me know if you need anything else," said Ishigami as he stepped out, "Wow, you literally have Ishigami at your palms now," said Rei. "Serves him right, he`s always teasing me," said Miko as she looked through some notes from math. "Wow, hang in there Ishigami," Rei thought as went back to her seat.

Later

"Ishigami, I want to go shopping, come with me," said Miko as they were walking down the hall as school was over. "Give me a break, I wanted to play video games today, go ask Kobachi or something," said Ishigami. "Did you forget who caused all this to happen? Besides Koba-Chan is busy with some work today" Miko asked to which Ishigami decided it was best not to say anything else. "Alright, fair point, let`s go," said Ishigami as he didn`t have much of a choice.

Shopping, a popular pastime for men and women alike. It`s the haven for spending all your money and picking up the ladies there. Some people however don`t enjoy going to big malls to shop and would rather shop online, Yu Ishigami is one of those people.

At the mall

"Do all girls buy this much stuff?" Ishigami asked as he was carrying Miko`s shopping bags, "Stop complaining so much, you`re a man aren`t you?" said Miko to which Ishigami was about to respond back, but decided it was best not to. "What`s wrong?" Ishigami asked as he noticed that Miko was looking down at the floor below them.

"Is that Shirogane-senpai and Shinomiya-senpai?" said Miko as they noticed the two walking through the mall. "Yeah I think it is," said Ishigami as he looked closer, "Not bad President," Ishigami thought with a smirk on his face. "That`s indec-" Miko was about to shout before Ishigami covered her mouth. "Shh, don`t yell," said Ishigami as he didn`t want to blow their cover.

"Oh Miko," said Chika as she saw the two walking together. "I`m just shopping for some new clothes," said Miko. "Oh? Are you two on a date by any chance? You even have Ishigami as a servant" Chika asked to which the two turned red. "No why would I be on a date with him of all people?" Miko replied in disbelief. "That`s right, the world will end when we finally decide to date" Ishigami retorted to which Chika couldn`t help but chuckle watching her two underclassmen bicker with each other. Anyways, have fun on your date" Chika said mischievously as she walked away leaving the two red as tomatoes.

"Is that Tsubame-senpai?" Ishigami thought as he noticed that Tsubame was sitting down with a fortune teller. "I`ve been having this issue regarding love," said Tsubame. "What might that be?" the fortune-teller asked her. "Why do people confess their feelings even when some know that their love might be unrequited?" Tsubame asked. "Before I answer that question, may I see your palm?" the fortune-teller asked. "Sure," said Tsubame as she put out her palm to the fortune teller.

Flashback

"This isn`t what it looks like," said a male student as Tsubame stood there in complete shock as her boyfriend was with another girl who was one of Tsubame`s friends. "Save it, there`s no use denying it," Tsubame said in tears. "Why would you do this to me?" Tsubame asked as her boyfriend was cheating on her with one of her friends. "You`re too plain, I was tired of never getting anywhere," said the male student as the two walked away leaving Tsubame alone. "Why? Why did this have to happen to me?" Tsubame thought as she burst into tears from the betrayal she had just experienced.

"I see, you have been through a lot in the past, you`re a very pure person," said the fortune-teller. "Yes my last boyfriend and I fought a lot, but how did you know?" Tsubame asked. "I could tell from seeing your expression and your overindulgence when it comes to shopping, but let me explain the answer to your question, love is like a contract between a man and a woman, however during anything relationship, there will be thorns in the path as said contract can fall apart in an instant. You`re having issues with a boy regarding love, I can tell from your expression" said the fortune-teller. "That`s just it, there`s this underclassman I`ve been with for a while, he`s really nice and noble and not like any of the other boys I`ve been with, but the truth is I don`t understand how I really feel about him, do I actually like him or not? If I do, I`m worried that I might not be making the right choice" Tsubame explained.

"You have a lot of doubt in yourself given your bad experience with men. But in order to truly understand true love, you need to let go of your past and cut ahead even if it hurts the people closest to you," said the fortune-teller. "What do you mean by that?" Tsubame asked. "That is for you to figure out on your own," said the fortune teller to which Tsubame nodded. "By the way, I heard this charm works well when it comes to dealing with love 1000 yen," said the fortune-teller as he held up a charm. "I`ll take it," said Tsubame as she placed a 1000 yen bill on the table. as she got up to which the fortune-teller took off his hood.

"By the way, you shouldn`t really trust what fortune-tellers tell you, they`re not always accurate, if you want to understand true love use your brain, fate doesn`t work the same way for everyone, the only person who can control this situation is yourself," said the fortune-teller. "Thank you," said Tsubame as she walked away.

"Ishigami what are you doing?" Miko asked as she saw Ishigami staring in a different direction. "Oh uh, just thinking about what video game I wanna buy later" Ishigami quickly said. "Whatever, let`s get some food, I`m starving," said Miko, "When aren`t you hungry?" Ishigami thought as they walked over to the food court.

"I guess it all makes sense now, I guess the most innocent people usually have dark pasts," Ishigami thought as he sipped his drink as they were at the food court. "Something on your mind?" Miko asked as she noticed that Ishigami was pondering on something. "No, it`s nothing" Ishigami replied as he took a bite of his fries. "You`re hiding something, tell me what`s wrong," said Miko as she knew something was bothering Ishigami.

"It`s nothing, just worried about what`s going to be on the next math test" Ishigami. "Yeah, I`m worried about how you`ll do on that test, anyways Fujiwara-senpai wanted me to go with her to the game store, so you have some time to yourself," said Miko as she got up. "Alright cool, where should we meet back up?" Ishigami asked. "Meet at the fountain in half an hour," said Miko as she walked away. "Got some free time now, guess I`ll go to the video game store," Ishigami thought as he got up.

20 minutes later

"Well there goes my allowance for the next few weeks," Ishigami thought as he walked out of the video game store after buying some games."Yu-Kun, what are you doing here?" Tsubame asked as she walked up to Ishigami. "Oh hey, seems like you were busy today" Ishigami replied as he noticed the shopping bags Tsubame was carrying, "I came to help Miko with shopping since you know her arm" Ishigami added. "Hey, do you have a bit of time right now? There`s something I want to talk to you about," said Tsubame. "Yeah I got some time," said Ishigami as the two walked somewhere they could talk in private.

15 minutes later

"Where did he go? He said to meet back up here" Miko thought as she was looking for Ishigami. "There he is," said Miko as she walked towards Ishigami before seeing Tsubame approaching Ishigami. "What`s she doing here? Is she trying to lure Ishigami back? I better listen in on their conversation" Miko thought as she sat on a bench behind them.

"So how`s Iino`s arm?" Tsubame asked. "It`s still the same old thing, she still needs me to help her carry stuff and feed her" Ishigami replied to which Tsubame chuckled. "I guess despite the fact that you two bicker like cats and dogs, you two do care about one another," said Tsubame which caused Ishigami and Miko to turn red. "Hold on, Miko is just a fellow Student Council member, we`re barely friends," Ishigami said in embarrassment. "That`s right, me? End up with him? Not in a million years" Miko thought. "I`m sure you two will realize how important it is to have each other by your side," said Tsubame. "I see, so what did you want to talk about?" Ishigami asked as he wanted to get back on track.

"Yu-Kun, I know that what happened on Christmas Eve was so sudden for you, I`m sorry about that, it must have been painful for you," said Tsubame. "It`s alright, it was insensitive of me to after everything you`ve been through, maybe it was wrong for me to confess to you when you were in a vulnerable state" Ishigami replied. "Wait so you heard everything," Tsubame asked to which Ishigami nodded. "Yeah, I saw you with the fortune-teller," said Ishigami. "I see," said Tsubame as she realized that Ishigami had heard everything about her past love life. "But it doesn`t change how I view you as a lady," said Ishigami which gave Tsubame some relief.

"Yu-Kun, do you still feel the same way about me?" Tsubame asked much to the surprise of Ishigami. "To be honest, in a way I do, but I`m not sure where my heart is at the moment, I think I need some time as well" Ishigami replied to which Tsubame nodded. "I understand, take the time you need, I don`t need an answer right away," said Tsubame to which Ishigami nodded. "I should get going, see you around Yu-Kun," said Tsubame as she got up and walked away leaving Ishigami by himself.

"Man, is this really the right call? On one hand, I`m happy that things with Tsubame aren`t exactly over, but given the circumstances, my chances are pretty low, ever since I was forced to aid Miko, why is my heart drifting further from Tsubame? Is it because someone actually needs me? But this is Miko we`re talking about, my arch-nemesis who always finds a reason to yell at me" Ishigami thought as he reflected on the current situation.

"Are you kidding me? That dimwit is still trying his luck with her?" Miko thought as she couldn`t believe what she had just heard. "Ah, he`s getting up," said Miko as she saw Ishigami get up to which she approached him from the other side. "Where were you?" Miko asked as she walked up to Ishigami much to his surprise. "Oh, I was talking with Tsubame, wasn`t expecting her to be at the mall today" Ishigami replied which seemed to annoy Miko.

"Tsubame, Tsubame, it`s always her, if you like her so much, why don`t you go be with her!" Miko shouted as she grabbed her shopping bags with one arm. "Okay, maybe I will, at least she`s nicer than you" Ishigami replied as the two walked in separate directions.

"What`s up with her, why does she seem to have a stick up her ass?" Ishigami thought as he still wondered why Miko yelled at him. "Ishigami?" said a voice. "Oh President, what`s up?" said Ishigami as Miyuki walked up to him. "Just shopping with Shinomiya, what about you?" Miyuki asked. "Oh Miko dragged me here to have me carry her bags you know with her arm and all" Ishigami replied.

"Where is she?" Miyuki asked as he noticed Miko wasn`t with Ishigami. "We had a bit of an argument so she stormed off" Ishigami explained. 'What happened between you two?" Miyuki asked. "Oh she found out I was talking with Tsubame and then she got pretty mad and yelled at me for no reason" Ishigami explained. "I see, well never thought I`d see Miko show signs of jealously," Miyuki thought. "You should go back to her, she could hurt herself more if she`s by herself, I know you two still don`t get along well, but remember Miko trusted you to aid her, the least you can do is stay by her side until then" Miyuki replied to which Ishigami rubbed the back of his head. "Guess I don`t have much of a choice," said Ishigami as he picked himself up and went to look for Miko. "These two, I wonder when they`ll realize their feelings for each other?" Miyuki thought.

"There you are," said Ishigami as he saw Miko sitting by herself. "What are you still doing here? I thought you would be Tsubame since you like her so much" Miko asked to which Ishigami sighed as he knew arguing back wouldn`t help. "Look let`s not argue here, why don`t I just take you home if you`re not feeling it?" Ishigami asked. "Yeah I guess," said Miko as she got up to which Ishigami picked up her bags as the two walked out of the mall.

Later

"Here we are," said Miko as Ishigami helped open the door to her place. "Anyone home? Nice place" Ishigami asked as he put the bags on a table. "No only me, my parents are working at the moment" Miko replied. "I see, it must get really lonely here" Ishigami replied as he looked around. "You want something to drink?" Miko asked as she opened the fridge. "You got cola?" Ishigami asked. "Sure," said Miko as she grabbed a drink and put it in front of Ishigami.

"Listen, I`m sorry for yelling at you at the mall earlier," said Miko as she broke the silence between the two. "I suppose it`s alright, things haven`t exactly been easy for any of us" Ishigami replied as he took a sip of his cola. "By the way, what did Tsubame talk to you about?" Miko asked. "Oh, she just apologized about how things went on Christmas Eve" Ishigami replied. "Was that it?" Miko asked as she didn`t believe that was all they talked about.

"Crap, why is she so persistent in knowing about this," Ishigami thought, "I guess there would be no use trying to hide it, not like she`s gonna let me leave unless I fess up" Ishigami pondered as he knew Miko would pry the information out of him one way or another. "She asked if I still felt the same way towards her" Ishigami replied. "Well do you?" Miko asked. "Well, I told her to give me some time to think about it, I`m not sure if I want to try again so soon" Ishigami replied. "Oh? Why is that? I thought you would try to jump back into the ship knowing you" said Miko as she took a sip from her drink. "That is true, but I think I`m also having eyes for a certain someone," said Ishigami which caused Miko to raise an eyebrow. "Who is this other person?" Miko asked much to the surprise of Ishigami.

"It`s getting late, I better get going now, see you tomorrow," Ishigami said as he quickly grabbed his things and left before Miko could press him anymore. "Wait, you didn`t answer my question," said Miko as she got up from the table. "Wait a second, who is this other person that Ishigami has eyes for, is it another girl? Is Ishigami becoming a player now? Whatever the case might be, I cannot let this slide, prepare yourself Ishigami" Miko proclaimed.

"Achoo," said Ishigami as he sneezed. "I think I just felt a disturbing force somewhere," Ishigami thought as he wiped his nose.

Results of Battle: Miko and Ishigami lose

Hope you all enjoyed the chapter, I know I haven`t updated in a while, I`ve been pretty busy with my job, so I`m not too sure if I can finish my fanfics particularly this one and The Secretary and the Treasurer. This chapter is basically a rewrite of Chapter 160 of the manga except it focuses more on Ishigami and Miko rather than Kaguya and Shirogane.

In the Student Council Room

"How can you still be playing video games when you have this problem," said Miko as she was yelling at Ishigami after he failed a test. "It`s not a big deal, it`s only a test, it`s not like it's the midterms or finals just yet" Ishigami replied as he continued to play on his switch. "The problem is you`re setting a bad example as a member of the Student Council, our midterms are in a few days, maybe if you didn't spend half the time gawking over Tsubame-senpai. you`d have better grades!" Miko shouted. "What was that?" Ishigami said back to which the door opened.

"What seems to be the ruckus?" said Kaguya as she entered the door, "Ishigami failed a test and still wants to play video games" Miko explained to which Ishigami covered her mouth, "Ahh, she`s just talking crazy," Ishigami said as he tried to keep her from talking as he knew if Kaguya found out, he would be put through hellish training, "Oh is that so?" Kaguya replied as her expression changed.

"Crap, I`m dead," Ishigami thought as he knew what came next, "Miko since you`re complaining about Ishigami not doing well, why don`t you tutor him?" Kaguya proposed much to the shock of both of them, "What?!" said Ishigami and Miko in disbelief, "You two are classmates right? That means you should be helping each other out" Kaguya pointed out to which Miko sighed. "I guess I have no choice, Ishigami I`ll be tutoring you, be grateful," said Miko to which Ishigami groaned as he knew that no wasn`t an option as it was Kaguya`s suggestion.

After School

"Ishigami, let`s go," said Miko as the final bell rang. "Yeah yeah, so where are we going" said Ishigami as they walked out of the classroom. "We`re going to my place," said Miko, which Ishigami froze. "Wait, your place? I thought we going to study at either the Student Council room or a cafe" said Ishigami. "Well, the Student Council room is closed due to finals and a cafe would distract us" Miko replied. "This had to be Shinomiya-senpai`s doing, the Student Council room is never closed during the test periods," Ishigami thought as they left the school gate.

Miko`s Place

"Here we are," said Miko as she opened the door to her place. "I assume no one is here," Ishigami said as he walked in. "My parents are away as usual, put your stuff over there" Miko instructed to which Ishigami made himself comfortable. "There`s the bookshelf and the famous teddy bear," Ishigami thought as he leaned back on the teddy bear much to Miko`s chagrin.

"How`s your arm?" Ishigami asked as they were doing practice problems. "It`s getting better, the doctor said I can get rid of the cast in a few days," said Miko as she wrote something. "I`ll be right back, gonna get some refreshments," said Miko as she started to get up. "Wait, I`ll get the drinks, your arm isn`t 100 percent, what do you want from the fridge?" Ishigami asked. "Some tea," said Miko. "Alright then," said Ishigami as he walked to the fridge. "I`m starting to realize it`s much nicer to have someone with you at home," Miko thought as she was secretly more jovial with another person around her.

"How did you get such a low score on this test? We aren`t even in difficult parts yet" Miko asked as she looked through Ishigami`s test results. "Cut me some slack, I`m not good at history," said Ishigami. "Guess we`ll have to go over everything, please take notes this time," said Miko as she explained the lesson once again.

A while later

"We`ve been going over this for almost an hour, I still don`t get this" Ishigami thought as despite Miko`s best efforts, Ishigami still didn`t understand the material. "All right, why don`t we take a break," Miko said as she got up. "Yeah I could use one," Ishigami said as he leaned back on the teddy bear and took out his Switch. "Hey when I said take a break, I didn`t mean play video games," Miko said. "Alright fine," said Ishigami as he reluctantly put his Switch away.

"Let`s order some pizza then since we`re on break," said Miko. "Yeah, that`d be great," said Ishigami to which Miko got up and got a menu. "What pizza do you want?" Miko asked. "Oh uh I`ll take a pepperoni and sausage pizza," said Ishigami as he. "Okay one pepperoni pizza and a seafood pizza," said Miko. "Hold on, two pies? Isn`t that a bit too much?" Ishigami asked. "No, I need one pie for myself" Miko replied. "Okay, if you say so," said Ishigami as Miko grabbed her phone to place the order.

"Thank you," said Ishigami as he took the pizza from the delivery driver and walked back. "You sure I don`t need to pay you back?" Ishigami asked as he handed the black card back to Miko. "It`s fine, food tastes better when you`re eating with someone," said Miko. "Guess I`m not opposed to it, I`m hungry," said Ishigami as he helped himself to a slice of pizza. "I could use a break," said Miko as she put 4 slices on her plate. "Geez, I forgot this girl has an appetite that could rival two grown men," Ishigami thought as he ate his pizza.

"I`m stuffed," said Ishigami as he laid back on the couch as they had finished their dinner. "Hey, you shouldn`t lie down after eating, it`s not good for you, go throw the pizza boxes out," said Miko as she put the leftover pizza into some containers. "Sure," said Ishigami as he got up and helped clean up.

"Say, why don`t you want to get better grades?" Miko asked as Ishigami threw out the pizza boxes. "Don`t know, academics aren`t my thing" said Ishigami as he came back "You`re a Student Council member, what example are we setting if one of our members has poor grades, don`t you care what people think about you?" said Miko. "I`ve been an outcast for most of my life, what people think about me does not affect me," Ishigami said bluntly.

"Guess I have no choice," Miko thought as she was getting Ishigami to study harder. "If you get better grades, maybe Tsubame-senpai will respect you more," said Miko. "How so?" Ishigami asked. "Well, if you show that you`re smart, that`ll give Tsubame-senpai more of a reason to like you, think about it, a caring and righteous person who`s also book smart, any girl would want someone like that" Miko explained. "Alright, let`s keep going then, maybe you`re right," said Ishigami as he regained some motivation. "If that`s all it took, I should have said that earlier" Miko thought as they resumed their study session.

10 pm

"Where are you going?" Miko asked as she grabbed Ishigami`s arm. "What does it look like? I`m going home" Ishigami replied. "You`re coming back tomorrow right? We`re going to keep studying" Miko asked. "What? I never said I`d do that" said Ishigami. "I see, I`ll just have to tell Shinomiya-senpai that you`re not studying," said Miko which sent a shiver down Ishigami. "Okay fine, I`ll come over until the midterms, but that`s it," said Ishigami as he had faced Kaguya`s wrath one too many times. "Good, see you tomorrow then," said Miko as Ishigami got his stuff and left.

"Why is Miko going through all this trouble? Her arm is still a mess" Ishigami thought as he was on the train. "Wait a second, why would an injured person help another person out, could it be that she`s better? That could be true, but I don`t have proof, I should pay attention to how she acts in the coming days" Ishigami thought as it seemed strange that Miko was okay with helping her sworn enemy study for midterms despite having a handicap.

The Next Day

"Here`s your drink," said Ishigami as he came back with a can. "I need to go back to the Student Council room, need anything else?" Ishigami asked. "I`m good for now" said Miko to which Ishigami walked out of the classroom. "Whew, he`s gone," said Miko as she took a sip of her drink. "Wait your arm, you can actually move it?" said Kobachi as Miko picked up the drink with her injured arm. "Oh uh yeah," said Miko. "How long ago has this been going on?" Kobachi asked. "The doctor cleared me a few days ago" Miko replied to which Kobachi and Rei sighed.

"But why would you lie to Ishigami about it?" Rei asked. "It`s just that it`s been nice having Ishigami around even if it means having to lie," said Miko with a mischievous grin. "You know that`s not right, if he finds out, he`s not going to be pleased and I wouldn`t blame him for it," said Rei. "I`ll tell him my arm is all better after the midterms," said Miko. "Just make sure you don`t create a web of lies," said Kobachi. "I`ll be fine," said Miko as she put her cast back on just before Ishigami came back to the classroom.

Back at Miko`s Place

"Alright, things are a bit better, though that`s not saying a lot," said Miko as she looked through Ishigami's mock test results. "Cut me some slack I`m trying," said Ishigami as he laid back. "Alright, study these notes and we`ll have another mock test in a few hours," said Miko as she handed Ishigami a notebook. "where did you find the time to get all of this?" Ishigami asked as he looked in the notebook. "Don`t worry about it, just study" said Miko to which Ishigami reluctantly obliged.

"Say, there`s something I`ve been meaning to ask you," said Miko. "What is it?" Ishigami asked as he took a sip of his cola. "What`s your ideal girlfriend?" Miko asked to which Ishigami did a spittake. "Huh? Where did that come from?" Ishigami asked. "I`m just curious, you like Tsubame-senpai, there must be a reason you like an older girl," said Miko. "Tsubame is a nice and sweet girl, she`s a madonna, but without the drama queen tendencies," said Ishigami.

"I see, you like nice girls then since they seem easy to you" Miko deduced. "Wait, why do you care? You`ve never cared about my romance life" Ishigami asked. "Just curious is all," said Miko as she went back to studying. "Yet, somehow I don`t believe your reasoning, I`m gonna use the bathroom," said Ishigami as he got up to use the bathroom.

"Why did Miko ask me that? I swear that girl has the strangest imagination sometimes" Ishigami thought as he walked out of the bathroom. "Wait, what`s she doing?" Ishigami thought as he noticed Miko was writing notes with her injured arm. 'I know she`s been working hard, but she doesn`t need to work that hard for my sake" Ishigami thought as he did have some respect for Miko`s work ethic.

"Oh, you`re back," said Miko as Ishigami walked back into the living room. "Yeah, you were writing notes?" said Ishigami. "Yeah, you need to study these while I`m not tutoring you, the midterms are in two days," said Miko as she handed Ishigami some papers.

"Isn`t it too much of a bother to write notes with one working arm?" Ishigami asked as he looked at the papers Miko gave him. "A little pain never hurt anyone, I`ll make sure you pass the midterms even if I have one working arm" Miko proclaimed. "Just make sure you can take the midterms otherwise this will be more of a detriment to you than me," said Ishigami as he sat down and tried to study some of the notes.

9:45 pm

"It`s late, I`m going to head out," said Ishigami as he grabbed his things. "Alright, keep studying the material that I`ve prepared for you and you`ll be fine, you only have to put up with it for 2 more days and you`ll be free," said Miko. "Yeah, see you tomorrow then," said Ishigami as he walked out of Miko`s place.

"I knew it, so she was better, it`s always the quiet ones that are the most sneaky," Ishigami thought as his suspicions were confirmed that Miko was indeed lying about her injured arm. "She`s lucky that I don`t want to say anything since she`s been working so hard, but after the midterms are over, I`m going to pry into that matter," said Ishigami as he was still surprised Miko would use her injury for her benefit.

Day of the test

"Man, Iino has been putting me through overdrive," Ishigami thought as he sat at his desk waiting for the test to begin. "Alright class, put everything away, the midterms are about to start," said the teacher. "Let`s hope this is enough," said Miko as she passed the test back to Ishigami. "Let`s hope so," said Ishigami as the midterm exams were underway.

A few days later

"Well I managed to do a bit better," said Ishigami as they looked at the results posted at the front of the school building. "Yeah, it`s a big improvement, I guess Miko did a good job as your tutor," said Kaguya as she looked at the scores. "Or maybe I decided to try for once" Ishigami replied. "You were saying something?" said Miko as she walked up to them. "Nothing, I assume you already know your results?" Ishigami asked. "Of course, I would never let anyone in our year beat me not like anyone else can, speaking of, you`re finally in the middle of the pack, good job," said Miko. "Thanks, I guess," Ishigami said back as he was thankful for Miko, but reluctant to admit it.

"Oh hey Tsubame," said Ishigami as Tsubame approached them. "Oh hi Yu, how`d you do on the midterm?" Tsubame asked. "I did alright, middle of the pack, what about you?" said Ishigami. "I finished in the top 30, you seem happy with your result, that shows that you`ve been working hard," said Tsubame. "Oh uh thank you," said Ishigami as Miko gave a smug grin. Yeah, you only get better results thanks to me," Miko thought. "I gotta get back to my classroom, see you around," said Tsubame as she walked away. "We should head back to the Student Council room," said Miko. "Yeah, let`s go then," said Ishigami.

"By the way, there`s something that needs to be addressed," said Ishigami as they walked to the Student Council room. "What is it?" said Miko. "I know that you`ve been lying about your arm," said Ishigami to which Miko froze. "What are you talking about?" Miko asked to which Ishigami sighed. "There`s no use in hiding the truth, was this all a ploy to keep me around?" said Ishigami. "What gave it away?" Miko asked as the cat was out of the bag. "I saw you working hard to prepare notes for me during our study session, a person with one arm doesn`t write this many notes in a short time," said Ishigami as Miko had prepared a lot of study material for Ishigami. "I see..." said Miko.

"Still, why would you lie about something like that? It`s not like you," said Ishigami to which Miko stopped in her tracks. "Tsubame, Tsubame, why are your eyes always on Tsubame? I want you to pay attention to me," said Miko. "Huh?" Ishigami said as he was taken aback by Miko`s statement.

"Wait, what do you mean by that?" Ishigami asked as he was still trying to figure out what Miko had just said. "Forget what I said, I wasn`t serious," said Miko as she turned red before running off. "What`s up with her?" Ishigami thought as he walked away.

"Now I`ve gone and done it," said Miko as she was facedown on her desk. "I told you it was a bad idea to lie about your arm," said Kobachi. "I didn`t think I would say something outrageous," said Miko. "What`s up with her?" said Rei as she approached them. "Nothing much, Miko said something crazy," said Kobachi. "Is that so? When isn`t she saying something crazy?" said Rei as she patted Miko`s head. "Now`s not a good time, can we talk about this later?" said Miko. "Sure, why don`t we get dinner after school, we haven`t had a girl's night in a while," said Kobachi. "I`m down," said Rei. "Sure, maybe it`ll clear my head a bit," said Miko as the bell rang, signifying the next period's start.

After School

"Everything okay on your end?" Miyuki asked as he walked up to Ishigami. "Yeah, the finances should be finished by the end of the day" Ishigami replied as he looked up from his laptop. "I see, something on your mind? You don`t seem like your usual self" Miyuki asked Ishigami. "It`s just that Miko said something strange, she seems upset that I`m not paying attention to her" Ishigami explained.

"That explains why Miko left a bit earlier than usual," Miyuki thought as he noticed something seemed off. "Since the girls left early to hang out, why don`t we get a bite to eat after everything is done? We can stop by the arcade afterwards," said Miyuki. "Yeah I`d like that, I still have a bit to finish," said Ishigami as he got back to work.

Later in the evening

"So what did you say to Ishigami?" Rei asked as they were at a hot pot restaurant. "She poured her feelings to Ishigami," said Kobachi as she scooped some vegetables on her plate. "No I didn`t, I just said I wanted him to pay more attention to me and not Tsubame-senpai," said Miko as she put some meat into the pot. "That`s a love confession basically," said Rei to which Miko turned red. "No it`s not, I never said I liked him," said Miko. "Well what you said showed that you were jealous of Ishigami fawning over Tsubame, if that isn`t a confession, I don`t know what is" said Rei. "Why would I confess to him? He`s fawning over Tsubame-senpai" said Miko. "Well, why would you be upset with Ishigami paying attention to another girl? He`s free to like who he wants" Kobachi replied as she scooped some vegetables.

"Realistically speaking, do you think you even have a chance with Ishigami?" Rei asked as she took a sip of soda. "What do you mean? Ishigami is even lucky that I`m paying attention to him" Miko said boldly. "Well considering the girl you`re going up against is the Madonna of the school, I`d say you have some tough competition," said Kobachi. "I`m not interested in any of that, the only thing I care about is maintaining order in the Student Council," said Miko as she devoured another plate of meat. "If she would just admit her true feelings," Kobachi thought as she watched her best friend turn into a competitive eater to clear her mind.

At the Arcade

"So what did Miko say to you exactly?" said Miyuki as the two played at a claw machine. "Well, she got mad at me for paying attention to Tsubame and not her," said Ishigami as he moved the claw. "I see, so what is Miko to you?" Miyuki asked Ishigami. "What do you mean?" Ishigami replied as he pulled out the prize he won. "I`m just curious, it seems that Miko is warming up to you more, when she first joined, the only thing I would see is you and her arguing constantly," said Miyuki as he put some coins in the machine. "We`re just fellow Student Council members that`s all, but that doesn`t explain why she`s been acting strange," said Ishigami.

"You realize the issue is that Miko is waiting for you to answer her, it could be that she sees you more than just a fellow Student Council member, why else would she be jealous?" said Miyuki. "I know that, but I don`t have a clear answer for her, I still have feelings for Tsubame" Ishigami replied as he pulled the prize out of the chute.

"I understand that, but if you don`t answer her, it will lead to more misunderstandings," said Miyuki. "Maybe I shouldn`t leave this to simmer, though I don`t know how to respond to her," said Ishigami. "That`s more like it, I want that prize, can you do me a small favor?" said Miyuki as he pointed to a prize to which Ishigami sighed. "All right then," said Ishigami as Miyuki put a few coins in the machine.

9:30 pm

"That was fun, wasn`t it?" said Miyuki as they walked outside the arcade. "Yeah, I feel a bit refreshed," said Ishigami as he sipped cola. "That was so good," said Miko as she and the others left the restaurant that was coincidentally beside the arcade. "Wait is that Ishigami and the President?" Rei said as Ishigami and Miko screamed as they pointed at each other.

"What are you doing here? Were you following me?" said Miko as she pointed at Ishigami. "As if, I was at the arcade with the Prez," said Ishigami. "The arcade? Student Council members shouldn`t be there after school hours" said Miko to which Ishigami sighed. "Technically there isn`t a rule that states we`re not allowed to be at the arcade, it`s frowned upon, but it`s not against the rules" Ishigami explained to which Miko sucked her teeth as Ishigami made a point.

"Seems like you had a fun time at the arcade," said Rei as she noticed the bags that the boys were carrying. "Yeah, we were gonna stay longer, but the arcade staff pleaded with Ishigami to take a week off playing the claw machines," said Miyuki to which Ishigami whistled in the background. "Yeah, I got too many prizes, you guys want some?" Ishigami asked as he took a bag off his shoulder. "Sure, I`ll take a plush, which one do you want Miko?" said Kobachi as the girls took some of the prizes Ishigami offered.

"It`s getting late, we all go back home," said Miko as her stomach growled. "Didn`t we just eat?" said Rei to which Miko turned red. "Cheer up, there`s a good soft-serve place nearby, why don`t we all get some," said Miyuki as he patted Miko`s head. "Alright, lead the way," said Miko as the gang walked together to get some dessert.

The Next Day

"Well, that didn`t help," Ishigami thought as he was on the rooftop looking at the view during lunchtime. "I`m already dealing with my dilemma regarding Tsubame-senpai and I still haven`t dealt with Miko, I just want to be happy with one girl, not a love triangle," said Ishigami as it seemed that Miko`s proclamation was still on his mind.

"I had a feeling I`d find you here," said a voice to which Ishigami turned around. "Oh it`s you Tsundere-senpai," said Ishigami as the voice was from Maki Shijo, Kaguya`s cousin. "I told you to stop calling me that, anyways it seems that you have something on your mind, no one comes up here unless they have something bothering them, tell your favorite upperclassman your issue," said Maki as she leaned on the railing. "Well you know about my situation with Tsubame right?" said Ishigami. "Yeah, what about it?" said Maki.

"It seems that someone new has entered the fray," said Ishigami. "Who? Fujiwara? Rei? Erika?" Maki asked. "No, it`s Miko, she got upset that I`ve been paying attention to Tsubame-senpai," said Ishigami. "I see, it must be nice being popular with the ladies," said Maki as she was jealous that her underclassman had better luck with romance than her. "I didn`t ask for this, I just want to have a happy romance, not some generic rom-com scenario," said Ishigami.

"I think she might have feelings for you," said Maki. "What? No way, this is Miko we`re talking about" said Ishigami as he was still in denial that his sworn enemy suddenly caught feelings for him. "Think about it, girls don`t get upset about a guy paying attention to another girl unless they feel a certain way towards them, there`s a saying that girls sometimes act out on purpose to get a guy`s attention," said Maki. "I suppose that`s true," said Ishigami.

How do you plan to deal with her? You know this screams I don`t want to just be friends," Maki asked. "Don`t know, I don`t have a clear answer for her, I feel like I have to let one person down whether I like it or not" Ishigami replied. "Tell her that you want some more time to think before you answer, it`s better than not giving her an answer and you`re not hurting anyone necessarily," said Maki as she patted Ishigami on the back. "I guess I`ll talk to her at some point, thanks for hearing me out, want some herbal tea?" Ishigami asked as he stretched himself. "I`d like that," said Maki as the two walked back downstairs.

Two days later

"Oh hey," said Ishigami as he entered the Student Council room. "Oh it`s you," said Miko as she looked up from her documents. "Wanna take a walk?" Ishigami asked as he put his bad down. "Sure, I guess," said Miko as the two walked out of the Student Council room.

"So what do you wanna talk about?" Miko asked. "It`s about what happened a few days ago," said Ishigami. "What about it? I told you to forget it" said Miko to which Ishigami stopped. "What are you doing? Have you finally accepted that you`re a deviant?" said Miko as Ishigami put her in a kabedon. "That`s rich coming from someone who said something so bold, stop dodging your actions," said Ishigami.

"Alright, I get it, can you get off me," said Miko as Ishigami loosened the kabedon. "But I`ve been wondering about something," said Miko. "What is it?" Ishigami asked. "Why are you fighting so hard for something that might not work out?" said Miko. "What are you talking about?" Ishigami asked seeming a bit confused. "I`m talking about you and Tsubame-senpai, she`s gonna be leaving in a few months, you guys will likely be strangers after that, long-distance relationships fail 90 percent of the time," said Miko.

"Tsubame is the reason that I`ve become a changed person, that`s why I`m not giving up if there`s a slim chance I can win her over, I won`t know unless I try," Ishigami replied. "She already rejected you once, what will happen if she rejects you a second time? Will you even be able to handle it?" Miko asked. "I want one last chance, if I don`t take this chance, I might regret this for the rest of my life," Ishigami said boldly. "I see," said Miko as she realized that Ishigami wasn`t going to change his mind for the time being.

"I want to wait until Tsubame decides for us first, then I`ll respond to your question," said Ishigami. "Sure, it`s not like you`ve lost feeling for Tsubame-senpai anyways, though you might not get your answer until graduation," said Miko as she shrugged. "By the way, you got upset with me paying attention to Tsubame-senpai. Do you want more affection or something or do you see me more than just a Student Council member?" said Ishigami to which Miko blushed.

"Me like you? Keep dreaming you slacker, maybe if you beat me in test results, I`ll consider it, you and me are Student Council members, and only that" said Miko as she brushed her hair. "Spoken like a tsundere, Maki might be right," Ishigami thought as it seemed that Miko was back to her old strict self.

"Let`s go back to the Student Council room, I think there`s a meeting soon," said Ishigami as he and Miko walked back into the school. "What`s it going to take to break the wall down? Although I should be a bit worried about my defenses being broken," Miko thought as Ishigami bringing up the subject of affection seemed to make her think Ishigami was catching on.

"Wait, does this mean that Iino likes Yu?" Tsubame thought as she listened to the conversation from a distance. "Yu has been so kind towards me, but should I let him down easy so someone who cares for him can fill what I can not? I need to answer Yu otherwise I`ll only be hurting others," Tsubame said as she walked away.

In the Student Council Room

"Alright, graduation and final exams are coming up, let`s finish off this year on a good note," said Miyuki as the Student Council was having a meeting. "Man finals already?" Ishigami thought as the meeting ended. "Yeah, I hope you remember to study, you`re on your own this time," said Miko as she put her ledger on Ishigami`s head. "I know, I know," said Ishigami as he sighed as it was that time of year.

"Man if only there were a way to get rid of final exams," Ishigami thought as he pulled a cola out of the vending machine."Oh Yu," said Tsubame as she walked up to Ishigami. "Tsubame-senpai, what`s up?" said Ishigami, surprised to see Tsubame. "I just came to get some things from my teachers, graduation is around the corner," said Tsubame. "I see," said Ishigami as he took a sip of his cola. "You`re working hard aren`t you?" said Tsubame. "Of course, it`s the end of the year, the Student Council has a lot of work," said Ishigami. "Well I gotta get going, see you around," said Tsubame. "Take care, I guess our time together is winding down," said Ishigami as he walked to the cafeteria.

Lunchtime

"Ah, finally, it`s lunchtime," said Chika as she opened up her bento. "Oh hey Fujiwara-senpai," said Miko as she entered the Student Council room."Hey Fujiwara-senpai, can I ask you something?" Miko said to Chika as she opened her bento lunch. "Oh, what is it?" said Chika as she took a bite of her rice.

"Have you ever been in love with someone?" Miko asked. "Oh, is my precious Miko falling in love?" said Chika as she nuzzled Miko. "No, I`m just curious about what it means to love someone," said Miko as Chika recomposed herself. "Oh, when you love someone, it means you want to be with them, you feel a certain way to which your chest feels tight when you`re near them," said Chika. "But what if the boy likes another girl?" said Miko.

"Oh boy, this is totally about Ishigami" Chika thought as the only reason Miko would talk about love is when it involved Ishigami. "Well if you truly love someone, you have to push others aside, do you get what I`m saying?" said Chika.

"Not really," said Miko to which Chika pondered for a moment. "How do I put this, if you like someone, tell them how you feel, if they like someone else, try to show them your good qualities or just move on, at the end of the day there are no rules in love, you just have to go for it," said Chika to which Miko stood up. "So if I fall in love, I don`t have to be a good girl? I can play dirty" said Miko. "Oh uh well" Chika stammered as she wasn`t expecting Miko to think that way. 'Okay, if he wants to play hard to get, I`ll be that way," said Miko as she walked away and left the room.

"Oh hey Fujiwara-senpai," said Ishigami as he entered the room. "Oh, Ishigami, what`s up?" said Chika. "Nothing much, did something happen? You seem a bit flustered," said Ishigami. "No, it`s nothing, must be your imagination," said Chika. "If you say so," said Ishigami as he took his lunch out."Oh my goodness, what have I just done?" said Chika as she realized she might have awakened a monster in Miko.

After School

"Well I`m glad it`s the end of the day," said Ishigami as he walked out of his classroom. "Hey Ishigami," said Kazeno as he approached Ishigami. 'Hey, what`s up captain? It`s rare to see you here" said Ishigami as he fist-bumped Kazeno. " Just came to get some things. Since we haven`t seen each other in a while you wanna hang out after school? We`re having an end-of-the-year celebration with the Cheer Club" said Kazeno. "So Tsubame is going to be there," Ishigami thought upon hearing the Cheer Club being mentioned.

"Yeah, you down?" Kazeno asked. "Sure, I don`t have anything planned," said Ishigami. "Cool, I`ll let them know you`re joining us," said Kazeno as he gave Ishigami the restaurant's name before walking away. "Well, guess I`m not playing video games tonight," said Ishigami as he now had to attend a dinner.

Yakiniku Jumbo Shirokane Restaurant 6 pm

"This is the place," said Ishigami as he approached the restaurant. "Hey, there you are," said Kazeno as he was waiting outside the restaurant. "Hey, were you waiting long?" Ishigami asked as they walked into the restaurant. "About 5 minutes," said Kazeno as he opened the door to their private room. "Hey Ishigami," said Rei as she looked up from her phone. "What`s up?" said Ishigami. "Hey Yu, glad you could make it," said Tsubame as she hugged Ishigami. "Hey Tsubame," said Ishigami as he took a seat between Rei and Tsubame. "Alright, everyone`s here, let`s order some food," said Kazeno as the group started ordering food through the tablet.

"I`m still not used to these social gatherings," Ishigami thought as he watched everyone talk amongst each other. 'Everything okay Yu-kun?" Tsubame asked as she turned to Ishigami. "Yeah, everything`s fine," said Ishigami. "Why don`t you have some food?" said Tsubame as she scooped some cooked beef to Ishigami`s plate. "Oh thanks, this is good," said Ishigami as he had some beef. "Glad to hear, Kazeno has always been good when it comes to picking out restaurants," said Tsubame.

"To a successful year," said Tsubame as she raised her glass. "Cheers," said everyone as they all tapped glasses. "Since Kazeno and I are leaving next year, we need someone to become the new captain of the Cheer Club, any volunteers?" said Tsubame to which everyone started chatting amongst each other. "I wouldn`t mind being the captain," said Rei as she raised her hand. "Let`s welcome our new captain of the Cheer Club, Rei Onodera," said Kazeno as everyone clapped.

"Speech, speech," said some of the Cheer Club members. "Come on Ms. Captain," said Ishigami to which Rei reluctantly stood up. "Okay, okay, thank you for accepting me as your new captain, let`s have another great year together, go team," said Rei to which everyone clapped. "I gotta say, I wasn't expecting you to be the next captain," said Ishigami as he took a sip of his drink. "Yeah, maybe it`s time I change things up, not like anyone else was going to volunteer," said Rei.

"I'm a bit surprised you`re not really talking to Tsubame," said Rei as Ishigami was cooking some meat. "Well everyone from the Cheer Club is here, I don`t want to do something that would mess up the atmosphere," said Ishigami as he took another piece of cooked meat. "Fair point, you only have a month and a half before Tsubame graduates, you`ll have one last chance to change her mind," said Rei as she looked at her phone.

"I know that, when the time comes I`ll take action," said Ishigami as he scooped some meat on Rei`s plate. "So what will you do if she says no? Last time I remember you didn`t take it too well" said Rei. "Well, that would be tough, but it`s life, I`ll just have to move on whether I like it or not," said Ishigami. "Good luck with that," said Rei as she took a bite of cooked steak.

9:00 pm

"All right, that's all for the night, get home safe everyone," said Kazeno as it was getting late. "See you tomorrow," said Rei as she walked away. "I`m gonna get going, see you around," said Ishigami as he started to walk away."Do you mind walking me home?" said Tsubame to which Ishigami stopped. "Oh uh sure," said Ishigami. "Thanks, I`d feel safer with someone else walking with me," said Tsubame.

"We`re here, thanks for walking me back," said Tsubame as they reached the front gate of her house. "No worries," said Ishigami. "Do you wanna come in?" Tsubame asked. "Oh uh, are you sure? I wouldn`t be disturbing your family would I?" said Ishigami. "No, my parents are away so it`s just me," said Tsubame as they entered the house. "Nice place, as expected from the Madonna of the school," said Ishigami as he noticed Tsubame`s place was quite spacious.

"Say Tsubame, what do you plan to do in college?" Ishigami asked as Tsubame brought Ishigami a drink. "Hm, I never really thought about that, I`ll just enjoy college and go with the flow," said Tsubame. "I see, have you decided what you wanna do after college?" said Ishigami as he took a sip of his drink. "That`s the thing, you just gotta enjoy life first before we get to that point," said Tsubame. "I guess you have a point, it`s fine to just have fun sometimes," said Ishigami.

"What about you Yu?" said Tsubame. "Hm, not sure, it`ll just be usual business with the Student Council, although Miyuki and Shinomiya-senpai are going to be leaving after next year," said Ishigami."Oh? Then who will be the new Student Council president then?" said Tsubame. "It`ll probably be between Fujiwara-senpai and Miko since they`re already Student Council members," said Ishigami.

"Who do you prefer as the new president? Don`t worry, I won`t tell the two what you said" said Tsubame. "Miko by a long shot, as much as I don`t like Miko, I`d rather her than Fujiwara-senpai as Miko is more capable, the school would plunge into chaos if Fujiwara-senpai became the president," said Ishigami. "That makes sense, Miko-Chan went head to toe with Shirogane at the last election," said Tsubame.

"You don`t want to be the Student Council president? I think you would be a fine President" Tsubame asked Ishigami. "As much as I want the bragging rights, I`ll pass, it`s too much work for me, I prefer to work behind the scenes," said Ishigami. "I can understand that. Being the Student Council president comes with many responsibilities," said Tsubame. "Yeah, that`s why everyone looks up to them," said Ishigami as he reminisced Miyuki pulling him out of his personal hell in the past.

"Say, I need a favor from you?" said Tsubame as she got up. "Oh? What is it?" Ishigami asked. "I recently picked up on a video game Apex Legends actually, you`re good at video games, could you help me get familiar with the game?" Tsubame asked to which Ishigami perked up. "Yeah, I could give you some pointers, this is my expertise," said Ishigami as he pulled out his Switch. "Never pegged Tsubame-senpai to like video games," Ishigami thought as he and Tsubame played some Apex Legends.

10:30 pm

"That was fun, you`re surprisingly good at teaching things," said Tsubame as they had just finished playing a couple of matches."Oh look at the time, I better get going," said Ishigami as it was getting late. "Do you need me to call you a ride home?" Tsubame asked as Ishigami grabbed his bag. "I`m good, the trains should still be running now," said Ishigami as he slipped his shoes on.

"I`ll see you soon," said Tsubame as she saw Ishigami out of the gate. "Yeah, see you around, I should get home before my parents get worried," said Ishigami as he walked to the train station.

A week later

"So have you decided what you`re going to tell Ishigami?" Yume asked as she, Shizuku, and Tsubame were chatting in the hallway. "I`m still stuck," said Tsubame to which both her friends sighed. "You`ve been saying this ever since the Christmas party, you can`t run away from this forever, you only have a month left to give him an answer," said Shizuku. "I know, Ishigami`s different than all the guys who liked me," said Tsubame. "If you keep waiting, Ishigami`s gonna get eaten by another woman," said Yume to which Tsubame turned red. "Yume!" Tsubame said in embarrassment as Yume chuckled and Shizuka sighed.

"Oh Miko, what`s up?" said Tsubame as Miko walked up to her. "Can we talk for a moment?" said Miko. "Sure, let`s go somewhere quieter, I`ll see you girls later," said Tsubame as the two walked outside. "So what do you want to talk about?" Tsubame asked as they sat under a tree in the yard. "It`s about you and Ishigami, I want to know what you think of him," said Miko. "Yu is a very reliable person, he`s always helpful to everyone around him," said Tsubame to which Miko sighed. "Here you go, you`re lying to yourself," said Miko. "What do you mean?" Tsubame asked seeming confused.

"You think that not giving him a clear answer will solve your problems? You`re only hurting him more, do you enjoy holding him hostage?" said Miko as she was getting tired of Tsubame`s indecisiveness. "But that was never my intention," said Tsubame. "Stop pretending to be a good person, either reject him or accept his feelings and become a couple," said Miko as she stormed off. "Miko has feelings for Ishigami, I need to give him an answer at graduation," said Tsubame as the clock was running low.

"Alright, let`s see how good I am studying on my own," said Ishigami as he walked up to the final exam results. "Hm, not bad, you finished in the top half with your efforts," said Kaguya as she looked at the results. "I`m happy with the result, just glad it`s over, let me guess Ms. Smarty Pants scored top of the class?" said Ishigami seeming satisfied with himself. "Course I did, there`s no other freshman that can beat me in tests," said Miko as she tossed her hair aside.

"Good work Ishigami, everyone please meet at the Student Council room now, we need to discuss preparations for the upcoming graduation," said Miyuki as he approached the group. "Alright, let`s get going then," said Ishigami as the group walked over to the Student Council room.

Lunchtime

"Alright, graduation is this week, me and Kaguya will be on the stage as the Student Council representatives, Chika, you`ll be leading the school song, Miko and Ishigami, we need you two to be ushers making sure everyone is correctly seated," said Miyuki as the Student Council was having a meeting regarding the upcoming graduation. "Understood," said Ishigami and Miko. "Leave the chorus to me," said Chika. "All right, any questions?" Miyuki asked to which no one had any objections. "No? Meeting dismissed then" said Miyuki as he ended the meeting.

"You`re going for it?" Miyuki asked Ishigami as Ishigami put his laptop away. "Of course, I`ve gone too far to chicken out now," said Ishigami as he grabbed his bag. "I see, regardless of what happens, you`re a brave guy," said Miyuki as he gave Ishigami a pat on the shoulder. "Thanks," said Ishigami as he walked out of the room. "He really has grown," said Kaguya as she stood next to Miyuki. "Yeah, he`s nothing like that boy I rescued two years ago," said Miyuki as he smiled.

Day of Graduation

"Man, it`s that time of year," said Ishigami as he yawned while walking to school. "Hey, look alive, today is graduation for the seniors," said Miko as she walked up to Ishigami. "Yeah, yeah," said Ishigami as they entered the school. "Good morning you two," said Kaguya as the two walked into the Student Council room. "Morning," said Ishigami as he put his bag down. "Everyone knows where they need to be?" Miyuki asked as he got up from his desk. "Yep," said Ishigami, putting his Student Council sash on. "Alright, positions everyone," said Miyuki as the Student Council dispersed to their roles.

"To think we`ll be in this position in 2 years," Ishigami thought as the seniors entered the auditorium. "Hey, are you going to drool over Tsubame-senpai all day? Pay attention" said Miko as she tapped Ishigami on his shoulder. "Who said I was?" said Ishigami as the principal approached the podium as everyone sat down.

"To the graduating seniors, congratulations for making it this far, the path you went through during Shuchi`in was one filled with hardship and success, but you persevered in the end, the road ahead is more challenging, however, if you put your mind and heart into it, success will follow," said Adolphe as he addressed the graduating class. "With that said, I would like to hand the mic over to the Student Council President Miyuki Shirogane," said Adolphe as Miyuki stood up and walked to the podium.

"Thank you, Principal Pescarolo, the cherry blossoms are blooming which signifies the start of a new beginning, to the graduating seniors, congratulations on graduating," said Miyuki as he started his speech. "You have helped to guide us through Shuchi`in with your wisdom and kind advice through your few years here, we all wish you the best of luck in your future," said Miyuki as he bowed before ending his speech.

"Please rise for the school song," said Miyuki as Chika got up ready to lead the song. "Thank god for Chika teaching me to sing," Miyuki thought as his singing was at least average compared to the past.

After the Ceremony

"Tsubame said she was going to wait for me around the yard," Ishigami thought as he walked through the crowd of students celebrating their graduation."Congrats on graduating," said Ishigami as he walked up to Kazeno chatting with his friends. "Thanks man," said Kazeno as he high-fived Ishigami.

"I should be thanking you for embracing me despite my past," said Ishigami. "It wasn`t only me, your preservance helped you overcome your past, you should be proud of that, although I wish I could have done more to help you out," said Kazeno as he rubbed the back of his head. "No, you helped me out more than I could ever ask for" Ishigami replied.

"Let`s meet up again sometime," said Kazeno as he prepared to leave. "Yeah, take care," said Ishigami as he bowed back to Kazeno before walking away. "It`s Judgment Day," Ishigami thought as he saw Tsubame waiting for him in the yard. "Thanks for waiting, were you waiting long?" Ishigami asked as he walked up to Tsubame. "No, just a couple of minutes," said Tsubame.

"It`s now or never," Ishigami thought as it was time for Round 2. "Tsubame, I love you, please go out with me, I`ll make you happy," said Ishigami knowing Tsubame`s answer would decide their relationship. "Ishigami, I`m sorry, I like you, but I can`t return your feelings romantically," said Tsubame as Ishigami felt his heart sink.

Love is Gone by Slander starts to play

"When I first met you, I was told that you were someone I needed to be careful around, but being around you, I could tell that the rumors were false. As we hung out together more, I realized that you`re a great guy and any girl would be lucky to have you, that`s why when you confessed to me at the Winter Festival, I was shocked and happy at the same time, that`s why I couldn`t give you an answer" said Tsubame.

"Are you sure? It doesn`t matter what`s in our way, I can push through it if it means making you happy, I want to be the man to stand by your side no matter what" Ishigami pleaded as Tsubame could feel her heart pierce hearing her underclassman keep fighting for what he loved.

"If I was two years younger, we could have made things work but sometimes things aren`t fair. I`m sorry for making you fight for something so hard because of my selfishness" said Tsubame as she started to tear up."I see, if this is your decision, I`ll accept it," said Ishigami as he knew that the war was lost.

"Thank you for understanding, I hope that we can still be good friends, I don`t want to lose the connection we once had" said Tsubame as she clasped Ishigami`s hand. "You were one of the few people who accepted me for who I was despite my past, so it`s the least I can do," said Ishigami as he accepted Tsubame`s proposition. "Thank you for understanding," said Tsubame.

"Oh that reminds me, this is for you. Congratulations on graduating," said Ishigami as he handed Tsubame a bouquet. "Thank you so much, Yu, take care of yourself," said Tsubame as she hugged Ishigami before leaving Ishigami alone as the cherry blossoms blew past him.

"Well, I guess I failed in the end," said Ishigami as he leaned on a nearby tree. "So this is what it feels like to get rejected by someone you love. At least I managed not to cry in front of her," said Ishigami as he could feel tears falling. "Ishigami, I`ve been looking for you oh..." said Miko as she saw Ishigami crying. "What do you want? Can`t a guy cry in private?" said Ishigami as he tried to wipe away his tears to which Miko approached him.

"There, there, let it out," said Miko as she hugged Ishigami. "Just this once, I`ll allow it," said Miko as she let Ishigami lean on her shoulder as he cried. "I guess Tsubame-senpai made her decision," Miko thought as she and Ishigami remained where they were for the time being.

Later

"There you two are, we`ve been looking for you," said Kaguya as Miko and Iino approached them. "Sorry, we had something to take care of," said Miko to which Miyuki turned to Ishigami. "It`s alright, you did your very best," said Miyuki as he gave Ishigami a pat on the shoulder. "Why don`t we all get something to eat, we can stop by the arcade afterward," said Chika who seemed to cheer Ishigami up. "Yeah, that would be nice," said Ishigami as he forced a smile on his face as the Student Council left the school.

A few days later during the weekend

"Well, that went about as well as I expected," said Ishigami as he lay on his bed as his phone rang. "Hello?" said Ishigami as he picked up his phone. "Hey Ishigami, how are you holding up?" said Kazeno. "I`m fine," said Ishigami as he sat up. "I heard what happened between you and Tsubame, I was hoping you would be the one to mend her rough love life, I`m sorry things didn`t work out," said Kazeno.

"It`s alright, at the end of the day, the best thing I can do is respect her decision" Ishigami replied. "You`re the first guy that took a rejection by Tsubame well, most guys just stop talking to her after she rejected them," said Kazeno. "Really? It does make sense as not everyone takes rejection too well" said Ishigami surprised.

"If you need anything, just let me know, if you wanna work out together, just let me know. It might help you get over it" said Kazeno. "Thanks, take care," said Ishigami as he ended the call. "This is gonna take some time to get over, it might be time for a change," said Ishigami as rejection was never easy for a young teenager to get over.

Meanwhile

"There`s nothing to do, guess I`ll give Koba-chan a call," said Miko as she picked up her phone."Hey Miko, what`s up?" said Kobachi as Miko gave her a call. "Nothing much, just needed to talk to someone since it`s Spring Break," said Miko. "I heard what happened with Ishigami and Tsubame, it must have been tough on Ishigami in particular," said Kobachi. "Yeah, I know how it feels to work hard for something and not get it in the end," said Miko as she could relate to Ishigami.

"So what do you plan to do now?" Kobachi asked. "What do you mean?" Miko asked. "Tsubame-senpai is out of the picture, this is your chance to strike," said Kobachi. "I know, but shouldn`t I wait before I make a move? He just got his heart broken by his crush" Miko said in concern. "True, but this is a perfect time to strike first, if you wait too long, Ishigami might get taken by someone else," said Kobachi.

"I guess you`re right, but how do I approach him given everything that`s happened?" said Miko. "Well for starters, let`s get you a makeover. Spring Break is coming up, why don`t we go shopping and I`ll take you to my usual salon," said Kobachi. "Okay, you weren`t one of the Impossible Girls for nothing," said Miko to which Kobachi chuckled. "Okay, we`ll talk soon," said Kobachi as Miko ended the call.

"Maybe it`s time for a change," Miko thought as she looked at a dating and a fashion magazine on her desk.

"Another year," Ishigami thought as he yawned as he walked through the school gate. "Morning, Ishigami," said Miyuki as he, Kaguya, and Chika approached him. "Morning, you guys, did you guys check your classroom assignments yet?" Ishigami said back. "Not yet. Here`s to hoping we`re all in the same class," said Miyuki. "Good luck with that," said Ishigami as the seniors walked away. "Let`s see class assignments, no real changes," said Ishigami as he walked back to the school building.

Meanwhile

"Whoa, who`s the new girl?" said a male student as Kobachi and Miko walked through the hall. "Koba-chan, isn`t this too much?" Miko said nervously as she noticed she was getting more glances than usual. "You`ll be fine, you did say you wanted to change after all," Kobachi replied. "I know, but I don`t like this attention," Miko thought as the guys stared at her.

Homeroom

"Good morning everyone, my name is Komari Machida, and I`ll be your homeroom teacher for this year," said Komari as she looked through her attendance. "Okay, let`s do introductions then, you in the back, why don`t you introduce yourself?" said Komari as she pointed to Ishigami. "Alright, my name is Yu Ishigami, I like video games," said Ishigami as he stood up and was applauded. "At least Tsubame`s good deed will always stick with me no matter how far we are," Ishigami thought as he sat back down.

"Okay, next is.." Komari said as the classroom door slid open. "Sorry I`m late, I was busy streaming my video game, my name is Koromo Shiranui," said Koromo as she entered the room. "Oh, Miko`s gonna have a field day with her," Ishigami thought as she was everything that Miko swore against in one package.

"Okay... next up, how about you?" said Komari as she pointed to Miko. "My name is Miko Iino, I enforce discipline in this school for the good of Shuchi`in Academy," Miko simply said before sitting down. "No time wasted in your introduction, huh?" Ishigami thought as he expected nothing less from the head of the Disciplinary Committee.

In the Student Council Room

"Hey Ishigami," said Miko as she walked into the room. "Oh hey," said Ishigami as he looked up from his laptop. "Do you notice anything different about me?" Miko asked as she flaunted herself. "Well, you wore your hair down, you painted your nails, and you`re wearing perfume that smells like strawberries," said Ishigami to which Miko felt a shiver down her spine.

"Well, someone`s quite observant. I guess Fujiwara-senpai wasn`t lying when she called you creepy," said Miko as she seemed impressed and a bit creeped out at the same time. Well, you were the one who asked," Ishigami simply said. "You`re still thinking about her, aren`t you?" said Miko as she put her bag down. "Why would that concern you? I thought you hated seeing couples around the school," Ishigami replied.

"Does it hurt?" Miko asked as she sat next to Ishigami. "It still does, she was the first girl I genuinely loved," Ishigami replied. "Don`t worry, you`ll get over it eventually" said Miko as she patted Ishigami`s head. "You make it seem so easy, it`s not like you`ve been in love before," said Ishigami.

"Yes, you`re right, I never really loved anyone, but I know how it feels to be rejected," said Miko. "Really you?" Ishigami said, seeming surprised. "Yes, I`ve been rejected by the people who break the rules, it`s been like that since middle school," said Miko. "Right, I forgot that Miko isn`t exactly popular with the student body," Ishigami thought.

"You`ve always put up a front anyway, you never seem to let it bother you," said Ishigami as despite being disliked by the other students, Miko`s resolve never wavered over the years. "I know that, I guess I`m more similar to you than you think," said Miko. "Okay then.." said Ishigami as he got back to work on his laptop.

After School

"At least the day is over and there`s no Student Council duties today," Ishigami thought as he grabbed his bag. "Hey, Ishigami," said Rei as she walked up to Ishigami. "Rei, what`s up?" Ishigami asked. "Do you wanna hang out? The girls and I are going to the mall to shop," said Rei. "I don`t know, I`m not a shopping person," Ishigami replied.

"Come on, just come with us, it might help clear your head," said Rei. "All right, fine, considering no isn`t an option," said Ishigami. "Perfect, Miko and Kobachi are waiting at the gate," said Rei as Ishigami followed her. "Guess video games are going to have to wait," Ishigami thought as his video games would have to wait.

Roppongi Hills

"Are you sure I don`t stick out?" Ishigami asked as they were in a female clothing store. "You`ll be fine, we trust you," said Kobachi. "You better not try to sneak a peek," Miko said. "Don`t worry I`m not interested anyways," Ishigami deadpanned as the girls went into the changing rooms. "I`m guessing the only reason they wanted me to come was so I could be a pack mule,

"Ishigami thought as he looked through his phone. "Man, I`m starting to understand why guys don`t enjoy clothes shopping," Ishigami thought as the girls exited the changing room.

"How do we look?" said Rei as the three of them came out in different clothing. "Oh, it looks nice on you, gotta say you don`t look half bad wearing black Miko," said Ishigami, to which Miko blushed. "A simple compliment won`t impress me, but if you insist, I`ll buy it," said Miko with a huff. "So which one is it? Do you want praise or not?" Ishigami thought as the girls went to pay for their clothes.

"Well there goes my allowance for the week," said Kobachi as they walked out of the store. "I`m going to use the bathroom, be right back," said Miko as she walked off alone. "Alright, what`s the deal? Did Miko put you guys up for this?" Ishigami asked. "Yes and no," Rei simply responded. "What do you mean?" Ishigami asked, seeming perplexed.

"Wel,l Miko was worried about you; she wants to help you snap out of your funk," Rei explained. "Does that explain why she seems a bit nicer?" Ishigami asked. "Might be, you seem more tense since Tsubame rejected you," said Kobachi. "I`ll be right back," said Ishigami as he noticed that Miko had gotten herself into a pickle.

"Hey girl, you here by yourself?" a male student said to Miko. "Yes, but I`m going back to my friends," said Miko. "Come on, you`re so pretty, come hang out with us," said another male, to which Miko blushed. "If you say so," Miko said, to which a hand got in between the two. "Sorry, but this one has to be somewhere," said Ishigami as he took Miko`s hand and led her away.

"Uh, Ishigami, your hand," Miko pointed out to which Ishigami turned red. "Oh, my bad, I never let go," said Ishigami as he let go of Miko`s hand. "There you two are, let`s go get some dinner, I`m starving," said Rei as she and Kobachi walked up to them. "Remind me never to let Miko wander off on her own," Ishigami thought as he followed the girls.

"So, anything interesting happen to anyone?" Rei said as they were all having dinner at an Italian restaurant. "Not really, just the usual," said Ishigami, picking at his pasta. "The guys in our class have been stealing glances at Miko," Kobachi pointed out. "Well, that`s because all guys are dogs who wag their tails when they see a pretty girl," said Miko. "Now, now, you won`t get a boyfriend with that attitude," said Kobachi. "Stop teasing me about that Koba-chan," Miko pouted, to which Kobachi patted her head. "Yes, yes, I know," said Kobachi.

"Geez, why is everyone obsessed with getting into a relationship in high school?" said Miko as she finished her plate of pasta. "Well, high school is a hotspot for romance, you sound like a normie," said Ishigami, handing Rei the bread basket. "I don`t have your personality," said Miko. "Might explain why you seem hellbent on breaking up couples' activities on school grounds," said Ishigami.

"Hey, I`m an enforcer of discipline, I`ll have you know," said Miko, helping herself to the breadsticks. "You gotta loosen up a bit, you`re so uptight," said Ishigami. "Uptight? I`ll show you uptight," said Miko as she was about to get up from her chair. "Alright calm down, don`t make a scene here," said Rei, diffusing the situation.

"Miko, you know Ishigami has a point; if you loosen up, you won`t be as stressed," said Kobachi. "If I don`t enforce discipline, who`s gonna do it?" said Miko. "How about the Student Council, that`s kinda of our job," Ishigami deadpanned. "It would be if some members would commit to it," said Miko. "Hey, we`re all doing our part; it would be impossible to enforce discipline in the whole school anyway," said Ishigami.

"He`s kinda right you know? You can`t make sure everyone at school is well behaved," said Rei, to which Miko pouted, knowing she lost the argument."Waiter, can I get another plate of pasta?" Miko said to the waiter. "And here comes the food rage," Kobachi thought as she watched Miko devour a whole plate of pasta before asking for thirds.

9:00 pm

"Alright, it`s getting pretty late, we should split," said Rei as she looked up from her phone. "Yeah, see you guys tomorrow," said Ishigami as he was about to walk away before Rei grabbed his sleeve. "Hold on, take Miko home," said Rei. "Huh? Why? Can`t she get home on her own?" Ishigami said before Rei met him with an elbow to the shoulder. "Escort her home, a man has to see the girl off," Rei whispered to Ishigami. "All right fine, come, I`ll walk you home," Ishigami said to Miko as Miko saw Rei wink at her.

"Thanks for walking me home," Miko said to Ishigami as they approached Miko`s apartment. "Don`t mention it, I`m gonna get going," Ishigami replied. 'Be careful on your way back," said Miko as she went into her building. "Maybe it`d be nice to have someone by my side," Miko thought as she unlocked the door to her place. "Better get home before the trains stop running," said Ishigami as he made his way to the subway station.

A Few Days Later

"I guess school is okay when all the hostility around you is gone," Ishigami thought as he packed his bag. "Hey Ishigami," said a duo of female students walking up to him. "Oh, what`s up?" Ishigami asked. "Ishigami, you`re the Treasurer of the Student Council, right? You`re good at math, could you help me with this problem?" said the female student. "I got a bit of time, show me," said Ishigami as the girl took out her math book and showed Ishigami the problem.

Sometime later

"Someone`s popular huh?" said a familiar voice as he walked out of the classroom. "Oh, Tsundere-senpai," said Ishigami as Maki walked up to him. "You`re quite a ladies' man," said Maki as she elbowed Ishigami. "Give me a break, I was just helping a classmate out," Ishigami replied. "Did you move on from Tsubame already?" Maki asked.

"Not quite, the rejection is still on my mind," said Ishigami as he pressed a button on the drink machine. "Yeah, I know that feeling, Nagisa and Tsubasa have been flirting even more, it`s driving me crazy," said Maki with dread on her face. "Geez, don`t become a yandere on us now," Ishigami said in concern as he handed Maki a drink.

"Ishigami, can you give me a hand?" Rei asked as she was carrying some boxes. "Sure, I`ll see you around, coming Rei," said Ishigami as he took one of the boxes and walked with Rei. "It`s always the quiet ones you gotta watch out for," Maki thought as she was amazed that a quiet, gloomy guy like Ishigami got so much attention.

After School

"You`ve been busy, haven`t you?" said Kaguya as Ishigami looked through some files. "Yeah, I`ve been talking more than usual," Ishigami replied. "I think everyone`s just showing you sympathy because of what happened with you and Tsubame," said Chika. "Chika, that`s quite rude," said Kaguya. "It`s fine, she`s not exactly wrong," said Ishigami as Miko walked into the room.

"Hey, you guys," said Miko. "Hey Miko-chan," said Chika, to which Kaguya placed a hand on her shoulder. "Fujiwara, why don`t we go to the library to study? I`ll tell the President to meet us there," said Kaguya as she and Chika left the room.

"You seem to be quite popular," said Miko as she sat down next to Ishigami. "What do you mean?" said Ishigami, taking a sip of his cola. "Don`t play dumb, all the girls didn`t look at you last year, and now you`re popular all of a sudden," said Miko. "Hey, maybe opening up is the reason for this. I never really talked in the past," Ishigami replied.

"You know, Tsubame must be popular at college, all the guys must be fawning over her," said Miko, to which Ishigami stopped typing on his laptop. 'What are you implying?" Ishigami asked Miko. "What I`m saying is even if you still hang out with her, you`ll still feel a void in you the more you`re with her. You need to get over her. The sooner you realize that, the quicker you`ll be back to your usual self," said Miko as she got up. "Why are you saying all of this?" Ishigami asked. "That`s for you to figure out," said Miko as she walked out the door.

"What the hell is going on? Why is Miko acting like this? She`s not mad about me calling her uptight, is she?" Ishigami thought to himself as he saw a side of Miko he had never seen before. "If this is what it takes to make him forget about her, so be it," Miko thought with a serious expression on her face.

Chapter Text

"So Miyuki and Kaguya are finally a couple?" said Ishigami as he and Miko were cleaning the Student Council room following the announcement of Miyuki and Kaguya becoming a couple. "Yeah, I guess they couldn`t hide it forever, although they weren`t great at hiding it," said Miko. "Fujiwara-senpai`s reaction was priceless, of course she wouldn`t be caught up with what happens in the Student Council room" said Ishigami, noting Chika`s reaction to the announcement. "You got any plans later tonight?" Ishigami asked as he grabbed his bag. "Not really, just more studying, you?" Miko asked.

"I`m going to karaoke with Tsubame later," said Ishigami, to which Miko paused. "Oh, I see, have fun then," said Miko, seeming dejected. "Do you wanna come with us? Rei`s gonna be coming too," Ishigami asked, to which Miko paused for a moment. "Sure, I`ll go then, don`t get me wrong, I`m only going to make sure my fellow Student Council member is on their best behavior," said Miko. "Yeah, yeah, let`s get going," said Ishigami as he locked up the Student Council room before walking away with Miko.

Karaoke Bar

"Hey you guys," said Ishigami as he entered the karaoke room. "Yu, it`s so good to see you," said Tsubame as she hugged Ishigami. "Likewise, I brought some friends over too," said Ishigami as Rei and Miko followed through. "Miko, it`s been a while," said Tsubame as she hugged Miko. "Yeah, it`s good to see you again," said Miko, returning the hug reluctantly.

"I don`t get how you guys enjoy this," said Miko as she watched the others sing karaoke songs. "Hey, this is a well-known social gathering," said Ishigami as he sipped some cola. "Yeah, you should come hang out with us more," said Rei, looking up from her phone. "Well, at least the food here is good," said Miko as she took some fries and karrage on the table. "Hey, save some for the rest of us," said Ishigami, as he didn't want Miko taking up all their food.

"Let`s see who`s up next, Miko-chan," said Tsubame as she pulled a name out of the hat. "Me? I`ve never sung karaoke before," said Miko seeming surprised. "Don`t worry, there`s a first time for everything, just try your best," said Kazeno as the others egged her on. "Okay, here goes," said Miko as the song started, to which everyone instantly realized that Miko`s singing was interesting to say the least."Geez, this girl is tone deaf," Ishigami thought as he noticed Rei trying her best not to laugh.

"Man, that was something, guess I learned one of Miko`s weak points," Ishigami thought as he was outside the karaoke room. "Hey Yu, having fun?" said Tsubame as she stood next to Ishigami. "Oh, Tsubame, I thought you were still with the others," said Ishigami. "Well, I wanted to get a drink, all that singing made me thirsty," said Tsubame. "I see, it`s getting a bit crazy in there, I just needed some air," said Ishigami.

"Have you and Miko been getting along?" Tsubame asked Ishigami. "Yeah, just the usual, though I am a bit surprised Miko wanted to hang out with us, she usually has a reason not to join us" said Ishigami. "Well, if Miko agreed to come tonight, it must mean that she sees you as more than just a fellow Student Council member," said Tsubame.

"Nah, she only came to make sure I wasn`t acting up, nothing more than that," said Ishigami to which Miko poked her head out of the door. "There you are, since you're out there, can you get me a drink?" said Miko. "Sure, what do you want?" Ishigami asked. "Some milk tea," said Miko. "Okay, give me a second," said Ishigami as he walked away.

"I gotta say, it`s quite rare of you to join us," Tsubame said to Miko as they sat at one of the tables. "Well, as a Student Council member, I need to make sure my fellow council member maintains good behavior," Miko simply said. "Are you interested in Ishigami?" Tsubame asked to which Miko turned red. "Of course not, he`s got a long way to go before I`ll show interest in him," said Miko.

"Well, you got injured for Ishigami, people don`t risk their wellbeing unless it`s for someone important," said Tsubame to which Miko nearly spat out her drink. "Who told you that?" Miko asked. "Rei did," said Tsubame. "Of course, I forgot that Rei and Tsubame were in the same club together," Miko thought. "I just didn`t want Ishigami to hurt himself, that`s all," said Miko as she got up. "The more someone denies their feelings for someone, the likely they have a bond with said person," Tsubame thought.

10:00 pm

"Thanks for coming out everyone, I hope to see you all soon," said Tsubame as they were outside the karaoke bar. "Yeah, see you guys soon," said Ishigami as everyone went their separate ways. "Hey Ishigami?" said Miko as she pulled Ishigami`s sleeve. "What is it?" Ishigami asked. "I`m still hungry, can we go get some ramen?" said Miko. "Of course, there`s a place close to my house, why don`t we go there?" said Ishigami as Miko followed him.

"So, how did it feel to see Tsubame again?" Miko asked as the chef placed their bowls in front of them. "She looks even prettier than before, even with shorter hair," said Ishigami. "I`ll say, you were practically gawking at her the whole night," said Miko to which Ishigami scoffed at the comment. "I`m a guy, don`t blame me," Ishigami simply said.

"It kinda hurt, it`s never easy being around the girl you used to love and knowing the feelings won`t be returned," said Ishigami as he slurped some noodles. "Isn`t that just unrequited love?" said Miko. "Unfortunately, yes, when you keep seeing said person, it`s a reminder that we`re just friends, nothing more," said Ishigami as he seemed gloomy.

"You`re a good person Ishigami. It takes a lot of strength not to be resentful, most guys wouldn`t even stay friends with the girl if it happened to them," said Miko as she gave Ishigami a head pat. "Thanks, it means a lot coming from you," said Ishigami, feeling a bit better.

"Me and Tsubame chatted for a little bit while you were gone," said Miko, breaking the tension. "Really? What`d you talk about? I hope you didn`t reveal any secrets," said Ishigami. "Nothing important, don`t worry about it" said Miko as she dug into her second bowl of ramen.

Three Days Later

"Ishigami, wake up, class is about to start," said Miko as she shook a sleeping Ishigami. "Mmhmm, yeah, give me a sec," said Ishigami as he stretched himself out. "What were you doing last night? A Student Council member shouldn`t be sleeping in class," Miko said. "He was carrying us in Apex Legends," said Koromo joining the conversation. "You guys play video games together?" said Miko.

"Yeah, we`re all part of a group that plays Apex Legends together," said Ishigami. "If you were as good in Apex Legends as you were in academics, you`d be the number one in our grade," said Koromo which caused Miko to scoff at that comment. "Maybe you`re right" said Ishigami as he found the comparison funny. "Man, I feel so out of place. If I want to get closer to Ishigami, maybe I should learn his hobbies," Miko thought.

"Hey, Fujiwara-senpai?" said Miko during their lunch break. "Hm? What is it Miko?" said Chika. "I was wondering, you know this girl who`s a big gamer right?" Miko asked Chika. "Oh, you must be talking about Gigako," said Chika. "Gigako? Who`s she?" said Miko. "Terashima-chan, she`s the principal`s granddaughter, she`s an excellent gamer, although she`s repeated senior year twice," said Chika. "That would explain why she can get away with playing video games on school grounds," said Miko.

"Although I am a bit surprised, you`ve never really been into video games, could this be for Ishigami?" said Chika to which Miko blushed. "Of course not, I`m not interested in that idiot`s hobbies. I think maybe I should try new things. Could you put in a word for me? I don`t feel too comfortable going up to her myself," said Miko, to which Chika paused for a moment.

"Why don`t you come to our classroom after class? I`ll see what I can do," said Chika. "Thank yo,u Fujiwara-senpai, I owe you big time," said Miko. "Well, you could repay me right now actually," said Chika. "What do you need?" Miko asked. "Share some of your bento with me, it looks better than what I have," said Chika, to which Miko sighed as she willingly shared her bento with Chika.

After School

"This is the classroom," said Miko as she walked up to Class 3-A`s room. "Excuse me," said Miko as she entered the classroom. "Oh Miko, just a moment," said Chika as she whispered something to a girl, to which she nodded, and then walked up to Miko.

"Hi there, you must be the underclassman Chika was talking about, I`m Terashima, call me Gigako," said Terashima as she extended her hand out. "Nice to meet you," said Miko as she returned the handshake. 'Here is a bit too crowded, let`s go somewhere a bit quieter", said Terashima as she and Miko walked out of the classroom.

Outside the school

"I see, you want to get into Apex Legends," said Terashima as they were sitting on a bench outside. "Yeah, but I`ve never played it before," said Miko. "You`re in the Student Council with Ishigami right? He`s a hardcore gamer. Why didn`t you ask him for help?" Terashima asked Miko. "He`d only tease me for asking him for help, and I figured a female gamer might be a better" said Miko to which Terashima chuckled.

"No worries, I`m always happy to introduce people to Apex Legends, you know what, why don`t you join our Discord later?" said Terashima as she sent Miko an invite over the phone. "Oh, are you sure? I`m not as skilled as you guys," said Miko as she got the invite. "Don`t worry, we`re all chill, hopefully you`ll join us later tonight, we`ll be on at 9 pm tonight," said Terashima as she walked away. "I`m not really into joining social events, but this might be the best way to learn about video games," Miko thought as she had a new dilemma on her hands.

Later in the evening

"Alright, homework is done, time to join the gaming group," said Ishigami as he turned on his computer and put on his headset. "Hey, you guys," said Ishigami as he joined the group call. "Hey Ishigami," said Gigako as the other members started to enter the call. "What`s up Ishigami?" said Koromo. "Hey, Koromo," said Ishigami as the other members greeted him.

"Before we start our gaming session, we have a new person joining us," said Gigako. "A new person? Is it a boy or a girl?" Ishigami thought as they waited for the new member to join. "Oh, there they are," said Gigako as a user with the username Discpline769 joined their call.

"Wait a second, it couldn`t be," said Ishigami as he started to piece things together. "Can you guys hear me?" said Miko. "We can, welcome to our group, everyone, this is Miko-chan, this will be Miko`s first time playing Apex Legends, so let`s be patient with our newbie," said Gigako. "Oh brother, so much for peace tonight," Ishigami thought as the last thing he expected was Miko to join his gaming group.

"Welcome to our group, you`re gonna have a lot of fun with us," said one of the group members. 'Thanks, I`ll try my best," said Miko. "Okay, let`s get started, Miko why don`t you watch a couple of matches before I have you join in?" Terashima said to Miko.

An hour later

"Hm, this isn`t great, but I`ve seen worse," said Terashima as she watched Miko play a few matches, she noticed that Miko wasn`t a bad shooter per se, but she was very slow with her shots, leading to many deaths. "Miko, you gotta be a bit quicker than this, you`re getting killed too often," said Ishigami. "I know, I`m playing this on my laptop, I don`t have PCs like you guys," said Miko.

"Why don`t you try a different gun loadout?" said Gigako, giving Miko a different loadout. "Hm, an AR and an SMG?" said Miko looking through the loadout. "It`s a great loadout for first-time players. Let`s have you play a one-on-one match with Ishigami to get you more comfortable with the gameplay," said Terashima. "Oh okay," said Miko as she waited for the match to start.

"Oh geez, I think I should go easy on her, if I go too hard, she might stop playing this game," Ishigami thought as the match started. "Slow start, I`m down 3-0 to Ishigami," Miko thought as the match wasn`t going in her favor. "Use your surroundings," said Terashima as Miko managed to get closer to Ishigami. "Switch to the SMG, it has a better fire rate than your AR up close," said Koromo as Miko and Ishigami engaged in a gun battle. "Okay, okay, got him," said Miko as she gunned down Ishigami`s character.

"Wow, good job Miko," said Terashima as Miko picked up a kill on Ishigami. "Damn it, I slipped up" said Ishigami as Miko managed to get a kill on him. "This is fun, I might have a chance," said Miko as she was now hooked on Apex Legends. "Guess I better get serious," said Ishigami, cracking his knuckles, knowing this was going to be an interesting night.

The Next Day

"Alright, you two, wake up, homeroom has already started," said Komari as she was lecturing Miko and Ishigami for sleeping during class. "Oh, sorry about that," said Miko as she rubbed her eyes, which earned murmurs and whispers from their classmates. "Right, see me after class, the two of you," said Komari, which got a chuckle out of the rest of the class. "This is your fault, I knew I shouldn`t have gamed till 2 in the morning with you guys," Miko said to Ishigami.

"Well, you had fun last night, didn`t you? I still beat you last night," said Ishigami with a smirk on his face. "I'm gonna get you back one of these days, just you wait" Miko thought as she went back to taking notes.

Two Days Later

"And the reason you dragged me to an electronics store is?" Ishigami asked as he and Miko walked through the store. "If I`m going to be joining you guys, I need some better gaming equipment. I figured you, of all people, would know about PCs," said Miko, looking around. "I see, but if you want to have better performance, you need to spend quite a bit," said Ishigami, looking around the computer equipment.

"How much does a good gaming setup cost? I`m sure it`s not that expensive," said Miko, to which Ishigami gave her an expression that screamed You could not be more wrong. "For a good monitor, it`ll be around 33,000 yen, that`s not factoring in the desktops that can get as high as 180,000 yen, and if you want the cheapest one that gives good performance, it`ll be around 108,000 yen," said Ishigami, explaining the cost.

"I don`t have that much money in my savings, but I could ask my parents to spot me the money," Miko simply said. "Are you sure? Last time I checked, we don`t have jobs," Ishigami said to Miko. "Yeah, I`ve always been a straight A student, I`ll just tell them I need a better computer," said Miko as she pulled out a black credit card.

"Wait, how the heck do you have that credit card?" said Ishigami, seeming surprised. "My parents left it with me since they`re not around, now help me order some parts, Mr. Gamer," said Miko. "The power of rich people," said Ishigami as he went to the counter to help Miko order the parts needed for the PC.

Afterward

"Man, why does gaming have to be so expensive? We spent over 200,000 yen on a gaming setup," said Miko as they walked out of the mall. "Well, that`s the price to pay to have 60 frames on your PC, but you can also use it to do homework," said Ishigami. "When`s the gear supposed to come in?" said Miko as she looked at the receipt. "In about a week, although your PC setup is better than mine," said Ishigami as he looked through the order slip. "I guess in the meantime, I should practice a bit more on these games. When are we meeting on Discord?" said Miko.

"We`re meeting tonight at 10 pm, but we`re playing Minecraft tonight," said Ishigami. "Perfect, I need to get some more snacks, help me carry them to my place," said Miko as she happily hummed while walking.

"Who could have thought the head of the Disciplinary Committee would enjoy playing video games? But I kinda like things they are now," Ishigami thought as he followed Miko.
