The TV blared, filling the room with the sounds of a movie that Johnny had suggested. Kuai had lost interest halfway through, unlike Hanzo, who seemed completely engrossed. Another head cracked open on the screen, accompanied by a sudden bite to Kuai's shoulder. Despite the unexpected attack, he chuckled and glanced over at Hanzo with a lopsided smile. "Did you just-" Hanzo's lack of laughter caused Kuai to trail off, puzzled by the sudden change in his husband's demeanor.
"We don't bite baby," Kaui whispers, pausing the movie. "Did you have a bad day?" Hanzo's only response is a small nod. Kaui pulls him close as a now very small Hanzo begins to cry.
Kuai soothes Hanzo, gently stroking his back and offering reassuring words to comfort him. As Hanzo starts to calm down, "Should we watch something else?" Kuai suggests, releasing Hanzo's hair from its ties. Hanzo responds with a shrug while Kuai swiftly takes hold of the remote, promptly switching off the no longer age appropriate movie. Kuai sighed softly, realizing that it was past Hanzo's bedtime. "Why don't we take a relaxing bath instead?" he suggested, gently brushing a stray hair out of Hanzo's face. At first, Hanzo pouted, but as he pondered the idea, his expression softened, and he seemed to warm up to the suggestion.
After successfully filling the bathtub and coaxing Hanzo into it, Kuai wets Hanzo's hair and proceeds to carefully massage shampoo into his scalp, creating a rich lather. Hanzo seems to enjoy playing with the bubbles that float on the water's surface, only expressing mild reluctance when Kuai tilts his head back to rinse out the soap."Is that a little better?" Kuai questions, wiping missed droplets of water away from Hanzo's face. Hanzo nods, giggling softly as Kuai tucks him in with playful mechanical noises. Kuai gently asked, "Is that a little better?" as he wiped away the missed droplets of water from Hanzo's face. Hanzo responded with a nod, and a soft giggle escaped his lips as Kuai made playful mechanical noises while tucking him in.
