Chapter Text
“I could get used to this.”
“How great is Big Bingo though?”
“Oh, I know.”
The words hit Bluey hard.
She lay in her bed, sniffling and trying to stop the tears flowing down her cheeks.
How could Bandit and Chili say something so cruel? Didn’t they like Bluey?
Maybe they never did and hid it well.
Bingo crawls onto her bed, petting Bluey’s head. “Hi Bluey.” She says softly.
“Mum and dad don’t like me!” Bluey sobs out, hugging Bingo. “Why do they only want you?!”
“It’s very rude.” Bingo agreed. “I’m sorry Bluey. If it makes you feel any better, I want you as you.”
“You’re the only one that does!” Bluey cries out. “Mum and dad hate me!”
“Bluey?” The pups hear Bandit’s voice outside the door. Bandit and Chili walk in and see their daughters, one crying and one glaring at them.
“You’re both mean.” Bingo says. “You said you hated Bluey.”
“What? No we didn’t!” Bandit replied, walking over and rubbing Bluey’s head. “Where did you get that-…oh…” Bandit says in regret as he remembers his words. “Bluey, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.”
“Yes you did!” Bluey says, wiping her eyes. “You and mum both agreed I’d be better if I was Bingo!”
Chili winces, remembering how she agreed that Big Bingo was great instead of scolding Bandit. “Bluey, it’s just…you’re a bit much sometimes. Bingo just…makes things easier?”
Chili regrets that as Bluey sobs harder and Bingo hugs her tighter. “Wait, I didn’t mean that-“
Bleuy sniffles as she looks at her parents. “I’m sorry I’m too much. I’m…I’m going to be more like Bingo if it makes you happier. In fact, I’ll be Big Bingo forever and ever.”
“What?” All three ask at the same time.
Bluey sobs as she pulls away from Bingo’s arms to search for the fur chalk, looking for the one that made her look like Bingo.
The look Bingo gave her parents said enough. Chili and Bandit looked at each other, regret in their eyes.
What have they done?
