The child spoke with a few hiccups interrupting him, isagi could now clearly see the one's face he's been helping clean off the gruesome state from, beautiful blond hair, blue eyes as the skies can see, a round face a child bares, but sadly ruined with scars and punches.

“Isagi yoichi.” He stated happily.

Chapter 1: I'll come and shine your life like gold

Chapter Text

It was a sunny morning on a normal Wednesday, but it wasn't normal for someone that I, have in mind for the story i'm telling you all.

The story takes place in one's bedroom, a place full of comfort and love with a little somebody on their bed, grinning so wide it almost makes somebody think that they just invented smiling.

The young ones view was settled on a specific date, Monday, dotted on a peculiar young boy's Noel Noa, calendar with a big red circling marker engraved onto it with a childish writing that states, “The Big Day!”.

Why was It written with such a blinding bright color with such words that exclamate such an important event? Well, to be precise, it was the young ones upcoming birthday in less than a week, and he has been promised to go to a festival after his spectacular party of a lifetime at the mere age of barely nine.

The little ones tiny sprout bouncing on his head as he keeps running with his little legs to his kitchen, where his parents settle in as one bakes and the other drinks caffeine.

The little boy— oh, sorry. isagi yoichi, reaches his kitchen and settles up on a chair simply crafted and built for him with full love and hopes as he bids his parents a good morning with a beaming smile littered on his face.

Isagi Issei smiled as he hides it with his mug that states “Best Dad In The World!” on it with a few childish doodles you'd expect a toddler to draw as he ruffles his sons hair, “Morning yoichi, what's gotten you so joyful this morning, hm?”

Iyo laughs to herself as she continues to bake the soft pancakes she's preparing for the whole family in their small yet loved kitchen of their own, settling one, two, three and more cakes on each one of the families plates with their favorite treat and taste on top of each one that accommodates their taste buds

Iyo quickly joins in with her husband and soon to be nine year old child, gobbling down on his breakfast after he thanked his mother and the dish he's been served, his father scolds him to be more careful as it could be a choking hazard to eat that quick but iyo tints her lips up in a smile and shakes her head at her little families shenanigans.

“Awh, fine..” little isagi said as he slowed down with his first meal of the day to be wary of himself and lessen the stress he can cause his parents if he turns a deaf ear to his fathers warnings.

Slowly after, the whole family finished their breakfast as little isagi tugs on his light green backpack he's always favorited over his black colored one, ready to head out to school as his mother kisses his forehead as a blessing for her little sprout to have a good day.

Issei follows quickly after his wife does so but gives a raspberry instead of a kiss as yoichi laughs and tries to back away from the tickling sensation before he bids a goodbye to his mother and arrives at school safely as his father drives his way to work after dropping him off.

The hours tick by and yoichi doesn't bother to notice, he finishes his classes, has fun with the other children in the same grade as him and is respectful to his elders throughout his day.

The bell rings as everybody exits out of the school as they await for their parents to pick them up.

The young boy waited, and waited, and waited for his father, patience was gifted to him dearly from God himself and he uses that to good use until his keen sense of hearing notifies him of a shuffle somewhere that the other children do not notice.

The curious one that he is, follows the sound around the school building of his until he reached where his legs and senses of hearing led him to, he expected to be met with disappointment of the wind shuffling some bush, more or so a kitten.

But his vision and mind was met with surprise more to say, it didn't meet his expectations as it wasn't just wind nor a helpless abandoned baby cat mewling for its mother.

More of another child he did not recognize from the one's dirty baggy clothes, the hem of the Hoodie pushed to cover its face as it sobs, weeps, heaves and ugly cry in its arms as it tucks its legs on one's chest.

Isagi approached the child, who is speculated to be at least a year or two older than him. Careful to not startle them, he spoke in a voice only a mother uses to radiate comfort to their babies.

“I, uhm— hello..” isagi said hesitantly. “Are you… okay?”

The other child covered its mouth with its hidden hands, covered with its large black Hoodie that's too big for it to wear, still ugly weeping.

“Uh... y-yeah I am.” The one's voice spoke out ragged, like a scraped up plate that's been ruined with the metallic use of forks to scrape it to make such a horrible sound.

Isagi notices a peek of blood coming from the boy's little hands as he tries to reach out but feels like he shouldn't.

Instead, he pulls out a handkerchief and walks slowly to the other to not startle them, as he kneels down slowly to hand it to the one who's age is speculated to be close to the raven-haired one.

“Here,”

Isagi said as he sits down near the individual, he hands out his own hand as the slowly coming to a stop of tears kid reluctantly held it, having a gut feeling this one isn't out for him as others have been doing so since the moment of his birth, a sinful thing in his head he thought of, one cannot be able to ask for, but is granted to them one way or another.

Isagi slowly lifted the sleeve of the overwhelmingly large attire as he widened his eyes, what he was met with were purple bruises, scrapes and cuts, even so blood gushing out from the scrapes they itched out.

He winced at the foreign gruesome sight but gently cared for the stranger, he never knew why, how, or what made him do it, something chanted to him to help out the kid instead of standing like a statue, just staring creepily.

Little strands from the strange kids hair fell on their face as they look up to see who are the soft caring hands, they craved for to feel, cleaning their hands, comforting them in a soothing voice, as if they had turned into a baby once more like a mother, it is all the kid wished for, but God forbid it to be given to them.

The raven-haired one spoke up after minutes of silence of him cleaning the kids hands up, “...what's your name?..”. Isagi spoke, the other one opened their mouth, voice shaking with fear.

“M-Michael kaiser… and uhm, You?...”

The child spoke with a few hiccups interrupting him, isagi could now clearly see the one's face he's been helping clean off the gruesome state from, beautiful blond hair, blue eyes as the skies can see, a round face a child bares, but sadly ruined with scars and punches.

“Isagi yoichi.” He stated happily as the child spoke up, a sign of maybe some type of warming up and not seeing the boy as some sort of rival he should be cautious of, checking his state of health with his hands again, cleaned up scars but the bruises turning more darker as a sign they're fading away.

Issei panicked from not seeing his kid anywhere as he came to the school to pick him up, planning to apologize to his son for being so late and he was busy with work.

He asked the teachers, supervisors and even the principal but all of their responses were only “He left the school half an hour ago.” that ring in his ears like a church bell, sweat falling down.

He felt hopeless until he came out of the building, also having a keen sense of hearing he recognized a voice only his kid bares as he quickly follows it like a melody to somewhere.

He found his child but with… someone beside him? He doesn't look like he attends the school at all.

“Isagi, isagi yoichi!” His father calls out for him with a hurried sense of voice, panic vanishing from his voice and relief sinking in. “What are you doing? I've been looking everywhere for you, and who's this child?” He says as he holds onto his son’s shoulders.

Isagi has no words to explain himself and who the boy next to him was, he opens his mouth to agape but nothing comes out.

“D— Dad! He's uh.. he's…” isagi says, feeling futile as he wants to desperately say what he wants to but the state of unexpected shock was like venom and fighting his ability to speak up.

“Weh— I-I'm his friend, sir… please let him go.” Kaiser speaks up, isagi seems surprised he tried to speak up for the raven-haired boy, even with a lie to cover up their story, although he hasn't known him for over a few peculiar sets of minutes.

Issei was torn apart of confusion, worries and concerns for his child and the other kid that claims to be his sons friend, seeing that isagi didn't speak up to tell the truth as he was still surprised by his actions, he just hugged his son and scolded him to never do such thing again.

Isagi was a bit bored to wait for his father to come back and was quite curious of the strange boy beside him, standing in front of the school, he wanted to know more about him, so he bluntly asked as he and Kaiser both waited for isagis father to come and get the car from the school's parking lot. Kaiser held his Hoodie while Isagi held his own hand.

Isagi spoke more confidently than before with their earlier conversation, “so… what kind of games do you like?” He says, typical question from a child, games have always attracted kids like a delicious scent of a dish to a hungry man.

Kaiser was surprised by the sudden start to make up a conversation, so he contributed.

“Uhm.. I don't know any games to play with others about, but I like to play with my ball at home.” He says cautiously, “Ah, uhm cool. You like soccer too?”

The blond child nodded as he fidgets with the hem of his black like void hoodie, also feeling the same as isagi. Boredom

If cartoon existed in real life, a light bulb appeared above isagis head as he held Kaiser's tiny hand, smaller than his own.

“Do you wanna play with me?”

He says, with an awkward smile, Kaiser's mouth was at a gape as he agreed reluctantly and was dragged to a nearby playground by the shorter boy.

He never was allowed to ever experience fun, so he had no clue on what to do when isagi sat on a swingset with the blond one behind him.

“Cmon, push!” He says happily as he kicks his feet while waiting for the sudden sweep of air to fly him in the skies.

Kaiser was nervous and unsure what to do due to being inexperienced with this type of stuff, but when he heard the word push, he pushed, gently turning into roughly pushing the kid before him on the swingset as isagi was chanting “faster!” while laughing at each thrust of him being swayed in the bright skies.

Soon, kaiser had fun as well, he loved playing with isagi, maybe even more than playing with his soccer ball, somebody who can talk, laugh, has a heartbeat, is alive, playing with him, he enjoyed that feeling and isagi did too, they played around on the other playsets until isagis father called out for him, and the joy ended there.

Isagi pouted at the fun being cut off for the day, but got off of a trampoline installed at the park as he was gonna go home, but turned to kaiser to say something before he left.

He jumped off the swingset as he fidgets with his tiny fingers as he spoke up shly. “Uh.. do you, wannahangouttommorowagain?” Quick as lightning, he spoke. He coughed before trying again as his face went red from seeing the lighter blue eyed boy's face confused with furrowed eyebrows and his painted with embarrassment. “Ah um, sorry.. do you wanna… hang out again tomorrow.. here?”

Isagi said hesitantly and anxiously, as he was unsure of what he was doing but he wanted to experience this type of fun for a longer time with him. And it clicked what he felt, a friend, he wanted that, he wanted somebody he can call a friend, and he'd like this one to be labeled as somebody he can name that.

Kaiser was dumbfounded at the shorter ones’ question, who would wanna play with me, he asked himself but one thing they have in common is that they both wanna play with one another again and again.

“Okay.” Kaiser spoke, seemingly to warm up slowly but surely, trusting his gut feelings that this one, the one he laughed with for the first time in his ten years of living on earth, wasn't out to get him like a predator to their weakling prey of a lunch. “O-Okay.. okay.” Isagi followed through after, repeating what the beady eyed boy said to his question.

He waved goodbye to him as he shouted goodbye from the window of his car. Kaiser knew he had to go back home, unfortunately, as he had no other parent to go to and no other home to stay with due to him being sheltered away from any of his family members if they were still alive.

So he reluctantly went back to the slump like abode of his, and he got welcomed home with a shout about his long period of absence, with no beer that he demanded his son to steal when he went out and a bottle to the face as a "thanks for nothing".
