Chapter 1: Illegal weapon transaction (1)

Chapter Text

A reminder that this is all a fan fiction and not to romanticise red flags or unhealthy relationships

Everything must have value, those that don't have value is simply useless and unwanted. In this society those who have value will be placed on a pedestal, opportunities will flood them and success rate will increase if the value of the person is needed. And those who have no value stay at the bottom of the food chain. That's what Raz al Ghul have drilled into the mind of his three years old blood related grandson when he gifted Damian a blade and pointed at the traitor tied to a chair. Reminding the child that there's no room for mistake. All actions have consequences. If he, let the traitor lives. He will endanger not only the league but also his mother life. That's the first time, Damian killed someone. Too young to have his hand stained with blood, but also too old to not understand commands. As the demon's heir, Damian grow up constantly reminded that if he can't do better, if he can't contribute to the league, he will be eliminated. So the child thrown himself to hours of training, learning to utilize multiple weapon, poison and other set of skills. The young heir do anything to increase his value rate for the league of assassins. So, it ended like a betrayal when he is left by his mother to his father's care by the age of twelve. Was his efforts not enough to maintain his position as the heir to the al Ghul name? Now that he possess a new last name, Wayne, he must do better.

It's hard to blend in with a family that already have a strong bond. Especially if majority have distrust toward him. Damian have a hard time to shift his old habits to match the Bat family. But then again their ways of doing things also questionable. If they let him slice their enemy throats, they wouldn't have to deal with them ever again. It will be a quick and precise move. He soon learned that the bat family especially Bruce have high moral over killing. He have decreased his value rate by doing so. The masked hero can only clench his fist. He didn't apologize. He didn't show that the disappointment on his father face affected him. Being emotional will get you killed, as his mother always quoted. Damian could only restrain the killing habit, it will be more troublesome but he will think of it as a training.

Damian felt misplaced in his little family. No one really cares about him beside Grayson and Alfred. Alfred doesn't count, he is hired to care. Grayson is different, no matter how much he shove and insult that man. The first adopted son of Bruce Wayne still care about him, sadly that man rarely around and stick with Blüdhaven. Damian relationship with the other member of Bat family isn't that great. His father, Drake and Todd always labelled him as violent. Drake feelings is understandable because he tried to kill him over the Robin mantle.

Now he is sixteen, Damian Wayne wonder if he is not valuable enough for the Bat Family? Often times than not, Bruce and the others won't involve him in their case. Damian only patrol and involved in low level stakes mission like stopping robbers, save people from muggers, and other little crime. The green eyes teen twirled his dagger, watching the glimpse of his reflection shine through the blade with boredom. Waiting alone in the dining room for the others to return from their mission have become a routine. The silent room quickly filled with chatters the moment the suited vintilages walk into the room. "No weapons in the dining room, you know the rules." Tim scolded the teen. Damian end his dagger twirling by throwing it to the hallway, the blade manage to trim a few strands of Tim's hair before punctured to the wallpaper wall. "Happy?" The green eyes teen taunted.

"You almost stab me!" Tim yelled.

"If I want to stab you, you will be. Trained assassin, remember?" Damian pointed out and smirked.

"Damian we don't promote violence in this house." Bruce scolded. "Tt."

Todd dropped his helmet on the table and lean on the chair. "Keep up that attitude and no girls will be attracted to you Dames." Todd commented. "Damian." The teen corrected, scowling over the nickname.

"Worry about yourself Todd. And why are you assuming that I want to date a girl?" Damian glared Todd. The three vintilages quickly snap their neck to stare at the youngest as if he grown another head. Damian gritted his teeth, oblivious that the other three bats are shocked of the misguided information. Damian assumed that all of them are going to scold him. The green eyes teen pinch the bridge of his nose and slide off the chair, "I am too tired to argue with you." And return to his room. On his way there the green eyes teen grasped the dagger and pluck it out of the wall.

The next day Damian decided to hide in the vent, knowing that the other bats can't crawl in it with their body structure. This is to ensure that no one nags him about last night event. When the sky darken, Damian quickly change into his suit and went on patrol without informing anyone. There are sighting reports of illegal weapon transaction at the harbor. Damian parked his bike near a few stack of container, taking of his helmet and place it on his bike. Stealthy the young vintilage lurk around the shadow, the teen saw a group gathering near the dock waiting for an approaching ship. Damian quietly climbed up a container that's located far from the dock and lay down. From this point of view, Damian get a clear view of the scene and stay hidden. The green eyes teen take out his binoculars and continued to spy on the group. The ship stop and anchored down. The owner of the ship commanding his lackeys to unload the crates of potential weapons. "Seems like their business is booming lately." An unfamiliar voice commented sending alert alarm to the young vintilage. Damian quickly rolled to his back and launched himself to tackle the other person. The stranger didn't struggle when their back got slammed down to the container surface and a young vintilage practically straddling his stomach. The loud thud gained the criminals attention. "Hey, did you hear that?" One of the lackey asked and direct the flashlight to the container direction.

"Tt." The vintilage eye twitched and quickly duck down, now laying on the intruder chest to stay hidden from the flashlight. On closer inspection the intruder have messy curly black hair and blue eyes staring at the vintilage with amusement. The stranger snaked their hand and grasp Damian's thigh, "Are you that eager to throw yourself to me, Baby?" The older teen joked and send the baffled vintilage a wink.

Damian scowled, "Who are you? Who sent you?" The younger teen demanded. Damian is trained to be cautious, he would have noticed the sound of footsteps or someone approaching. So it's unsettling to know that someone manage to sneak up on him. When the flashlight no longer directed to the containers, the vintilage quickly sit up, still placing his weight on the intruder's stomach and smack away the naughty hands from his legs. "Jonathan. And no one. I have visited the harbors regularly for the last few days. It's fun to watch those guys screw up." The blue eyes teen smirked and point his finger at the criminals inspecting the weapons quality.

"That guy over there." Jonathan pointed at the guy that own the ship, dressed in finer clothes than the rest of the lackeys with his thumb. "Not the master mind of the weapon transaction. He only provides transportation think of him as the delivery guy." The intruder informed.

"Those people on the docks?" The older teen pointed at the group of people inspecting the weapons, "Also not really involved in the whole selling thing. They only check the goods before loading it to a truck and deliver it to who knows where."

"And how would you know that?" Damian questioned not believing the intruder.

"When you tend to hangout on a harbor where criminals tend to get their illegal weapons. You'll know a thing or two from observing and listening." Jonathan shrugged.

"If you're not a part of the crime, why didn't you report your findings to the police?" The younger teen glared the intruder behind the domino mask. "And get the cops on my ass? No way man. The last thing I need is another bad record for my parents." Jonathan grumbled. Damian quickly handcuffed their hand together, "You're coming with me until you're proofed innocent that you have no participation in this crime." The younger teen informed and stand up.

"This is kidnapping." Jonathan said, pointing his finger on the handcuff.

"You're a crime suspect, that's not kidnapping. That's restraining." Damian smirked.

The criminal groups closed the cart and start loading the cart into the back of a truck, just like the intruder have explained. Damian take out a tracking magnet from his utility belt and throw it towards the truck. The small magnetic tracker immediately latched on the roof of the truck. After loading the last cart, the ship and truck departed on their separate way. Damian waited until the coast is clear before dragging the intruder towards his parked bike. "I don't have a helmet. It seems like you have to set me free, if not, you'll be endangering my life in road safety." Jonathan grinned. "Tt." Damian opened the seat compartment and throw a spare helmet towards the intruder before pop it back on. Using one hand, the vintilage put on his helmet before glaring at the blue yes teen to do the same. Jonathan sighed, "Fine." The older teen grumbled and wear the spare helmet. Damian get on the bike and place open the GPS map on his bike screen. Heat flooded his face when the older teen behind him decided to grasp on his right thigh again. Damian smack those hands, "Stop harassing me Jonathan. I can and will kill you." the younger teen threatened.

"And what do you expect me to hang onto when you drive your bike without your totally legitimate driving license?" The older teen sneered.

Damian turn his upper body around to stare at the stranger like he's the most idiotic person he have ever met. "My waist? Like any normal person would do?" Damian said, he could even hear the imaginary 'Duh' from Grayson in his mind. Jonathan hummed and slither his right hand to circle the vintilage's waist because his other handcuffed hand is forced hanging while Damian driving. After that the two take off, as the young bat speeding up sliding left and right cutting in line to chase on a truck. "So what's your name?" Jonathan decided to ask. "Robin." Damian replied.

"Robin, did anyone told you that those Spandex suit make your thighs look sexy?" Jonathan teased.

"Jonathan, I am driving on a highway right now. If you utter another word about my thigh. I will crash us both to that bridge. So if you do value your life... Shut the fuck up." Damian growled. The older teen behind the bike motioned his hand as if to zip his mouth and stay silent during the high speed chase. The bike slowed down and parked a few blocks away from a mid lower class apartment building, where they have reallocated the crates. Damian dragged the intruder to stealthily climb the outer stairs of another building to spy on the criminals. Jonathan stared at the apartment building, "Wouldn't it be faster if you just kill them and be done with it." The intruder questioned.

"It's easier but I need to gather information. Therefore they need to be alive." Damian stated using his binoculars. Jonathan tilt his head to the side, "They probably not gonna do anything for the night. Transporting weapons is tiring enough." The blue eyes teen commented but Damian ignores him. The two stayed a few hours guarding. In the first two hours the intruder manage to stay silent and watch by but the rest of the time, the older teen manage to fall asleep on the cold stairs railings while Damian on guard duty.  The domino mask teen shake the intruder's shoulder after all of the involved lackeys left the apartment building. The older teen groaned and groggily sat up. "What time is it?" Jonathan yawned.

"Almost three AM." Damian informed and unlocking the handcuffs. "Need a ride home?" The young vintilage offered.

"Thanks for worrying. But nah, I can walk home by myself Baby bird." Jonathan winked. Damian's domino mask covered eye twitched at that remark. "I hope you got shot on your walk home." Damian stated before hoping on to his bike after wearing his helmet. "See you soon, Robin." The older teen said and waved his hand goodbye. "I rather not." The other teen grimaced and proficiently turn his bike and speed up to the road.

Parking his bike neatly, Damian quickly place the helmet back and sneakily climbed the wall to reach to his bedroom window. The young teen manage to climbed in and shut the window close when the light is switched on. The green eyes teen turn around to see his father and Tim at the door. "Where have you gone to young man?" Bruce questioned with a hint of disappointment.

"Investigating an illegal weapon transaction organisation." Damian replied and taken off his domino mask and cape. "Why didn't you tell one of us? It's dangerous to go investigating a case alone Damian." Tim scolded.

"I am capable on handling it myself. There was a ship that dock during night at the Miller Harbor, from reports it's been a daily occurrence for the past few days. The ship delivered crates of illegal weapons to Gotham and get reallocated by a truck to a cheap apartment in Dorothy lane." Damian explained the details while removing his boots.

"And the mastermind of the operation?" Bruce asked. "Haven't found out about the mastermind yet. Drake I attached a tracker on the truck, you should keep an eye on it. I'll ask Gordon if she could help me find any information about that ship." Damian replied.

"Now that you're done interrogating me, you both can leave. I am tired and need some sleep." Damian told them.

Jonathan Samuel Kent, the son of famous reporter Lois Lane and Clark Kent from The Daily Planet. Life won't be too difficult for him when he have two loving parents. Unless you unlocked your power to early and can't control it. The memory is a little bit blurry, but Jon still remembers the important detail of that day. Jon is five years old when he burned down the farm with his laser beams. What happen was, five years old Jon saw a snake, startled, the child activated his laser eyes to kill the reptile. The problem is the child can't control it and end up burning the corps and farm. It is a big lost for the Kents but they never blamed their son for the unfortunate situation. Lois Lane began to worry when her little boy will activate his laser eyes every time he is afraid or surprised and when the child have more than once destroyed a wall or furniture when he's having a tantrum. The reporter understands that Jon is young and still having trouble to control his powers, but if Jon keeps that up. They won't be able to enroll her child to school or take him out on public places fearing that her son will expose to everyone that he is the son of superman. Repairment also become expensive with the frequent child tantrum.

Lois love her son, but she fear that he will be endanger if someone finds out about his real identity. Jon have been keep isolated from public eyes and stay most of his times inside the house. When Jon's sixth birthday is approaching, due to excitement he burned down the small town. Lois draw the line and asked Clark to help send Jon to a safer place. Clark obliged his wife's order although as a parent it's heartbreaking to stay apart from his child. The disguised superman asked help from his old friend to build a spaceship for his son to live in. Jon spend thirteen years in that spaceship. On his eighteen birthday he got the green code that he is free to leave and come back to earth. For the teen returning to Earth is a relief but also foreign. He don't feel the familial connection after years of no contact. He only spends a week at his parents house and felt uncomfortable with how the two talk super quiet and giving him worried glances.

"I am worried that if he don't socialise he will be lonely forever. Maybe we should enroll him to a college. Ask Bruce a favour to arrange it." The violet eyes woman whispered to her husband while stirring her tea. "He just returned to Earth, Lois. We shouldn't put pressure on him and let him adapt first." Clark murmured.

"I gonna pretend that I didn't hear you guys talking about me." The blue eyes teen said while staring at the two older people and place the hot coffee in front of his Dad to reach. The older man thanked his son and sip on the coffee. "Jon have you thought about college? You can make friends, get a degree and get a good job afterwards." Lois asked, abandoning her cup to pour her attention to her son. "Nope." The teen replied casually.

Clark waved his hand, "No pressure son. If college doesn't interest you, you can always try to get a job intern at The Daily Planet just like your mom and dad." The disguised superman grinned even when he felt his wife glaring him for setting the standards lower for their son. "I'll think about it, Dad." The teen replied.

"Great. We will be back a little bit late. So don't wait on us. Money on the counter if you want to order takeouts." Clark said taking his mug and Lois's empty cup to the sink. The man of steel slide on his glasses and wait for his wife put on her heels. Jon give them a thumbs up as he watch his parents leave the house. Staying inside the house for too long drive the teen insane. The teen decided to take the money from the counter and head out to find food. Jon locked the door and open his maps on his phone. He purchased a sandwich and a smoothie from a small food stand and fly around the city. A ship approaching the harbor with a few people gathering near the dock looks interesting enough for the teen to sat down on top of container and watch the chaos. Technically, Jon is capable of stopping them with his powers or he can call the cops or tell his parents and get a new article publishing. But he didn't, there's to much hassle and it's not his problem to deal with. This is how Jon spend his night time for the next few days, buying the same order of egg sandwich and smoothie and went to the harbor to watch criminals loading questionable weapons from a ship to a truck. Tonight is different though, because Jon detected steady heartbeat on the container that he usually sat on. The blue eyes teen floated and land quietly behind the vintilage wearing a Spandex suit and binoculars on their hand. Jon watched the crates getting lowered from the ship, the quantity increased from yesterday's amount. "Seems like their business is booming lately." The blue eyes teen commented sending alert alarm to the young vintilage. The vintilage abandoned his binoculars and quickly rolled to his back and launched himself to tackle the Jon.

The teen is surprised by the vintilage quick action. If Jon wanted to, he can flung the vintilage with his super strength. But he didn't, he is too mesmerized by the vintilage appearance when he use his X-ray vision. Behind those domino mask, a pair of jade eyes glaring down on him. It didn't help that the vintilage look like around his age. Dark skin, black hair, green eyes and the Spandex suit outlining the disguised teen body make the blue eyes teen imagination run wild. Jon didn't struggle under the vintilage body weight pressing him down by straddling his stomach, nope, in fact he likes the weight. The loud thud gained the criminals attention. "Hey, did you hear that?" One of the lackey asked and direct the flashlight to the container direction.

"Tt." The vintilage eye twitched and quickly duck down, now laying on Jon's chest to stay hidden from the flashlight. Jon stare at the vintilage with amusement and take the advantage of sneaking his hands to grasp on the young vintilage's thigh, "Are you that eager to throw yourself to me, Baby?" The older teen joked and send the baffled vintilage a wink.

The vintilage scowled, "Who are you? Who sent you?" and demanded. When the flashlight no longer directed to the containers, the vintilage quickly sit up, still placing his weight on the intruder's stomach and smack away the naughty hands from his legs. The grin on Jon's face stretch wider "Jonathan. And no one. I have visited the harbors regularly for the last few days. It's fun to watch those guys screw up." The blue eyes teen smirked and point his finger at the criminals inspecting the weapons quality.

"That guy over there." Jon pointed at the guy that own the ship, dressed in finer clothes than the rest of the lackeys with his thumb. "Not the master mind of the weapon transaction. He only provides transportation think of him as the delivery guy." He informed his few days of observation.

"Those people on the docks?" The older teen pointed at the group of people inspecting the weapons, "Also not really involved in the whole selling thing. They only check the goods before loading it to a truck and deliver it to who knows where."

"And how would you know that?" The vintilage glared with suspicion and the older teen didn't blame him.

"When you tend to hangout on a harbor where criminals tend to get their illegal weapons. You'll know a thing or two from observing and listening." Jon shrugged.

"If you're not a part of the crime, why didn't you report your findings to the police?" The younger teen glared the blue eyes teen behind his domino mask. A lot of reasons, there will be interrogation, his parents will be called to the police station, he will be a suspicious suspect for hanging around the harbor, the unnecessary process and more. "And get the cops on my ass? No way man. The last thing I need is another bad record for my parents." Jon grumbled. The vintilage quickly handcuffed their hand together, "You're coming with me until you're proofed innocent that you have no participation in this crime." The younger teen informed and stand up. Did the vintilage always keep a handcuff on them? Weird...

"This is kidnapping." Jon said, pointing his finger on the handcuff. He wants to go home as much as he wants to ask the young vintilage's number.

"You're a crime suspect, that's not kidnapping. That's restraining." The masked vintilage smirked.

The domino masked vintilage waited until the coast is clear before dragging the older feen towards his parked bike. "I don't have a helmet. It seems like you have to set me free, if not, you'll be endangering my life in road safety." Jon grinned. He don't need a helmet, he is the son of superman but if he can get away from getting involved in any of the adventure, he will use that excuse like any normal human. "Tt." The vintilage opened the seat compartment and throw a spare helmet towards the Jon before pop it back on. Using one hand, the vintilage put on his helmet before glaring at the blue yes teen to do the same. Jon sighed, "Fine." The older teen grumbled and wear the spare helmet. The young vintilage get on the bike and place open the GPS map on his bike screen. Jon once again took decided to grasp his free hand on the vintilage right thigh again. Damian smack those hands, "Stop harassing me Jonathan. I can and will kill you." the masked vintilage threatened.

"And what do you expect me to hang onto when you drive your bike without your totally legitimate driving license?" The older teen sneered, doubting that the other teen have a driver license.

The masked vintilage turn his upper body around to stare at Jon like he's the most idiotic person he have ever met. "My waist? Like any normal person would do?" The vintilage said. Jon hummed and slither his right hand to circle the vintilage's waist because his other handcuffed hand is forced hanging while Damian driving. After that the two take off, as the vintilage speeding up sliding left and right cutting in line to chase on a truck. "So what's your name?" Jon decided to ask out of curiosity. "Robin." Robin replied.

Jon grinned. "Robin, did anyone told you that those Spandex suit make your thighs look sexy?" Jon teased.

"Jonathan, I am driving on a highway right now. If you utter another word about my thigh. I will crash us both to that bridge. So if you do value your life... Shut the fuck up." Robin growled. The older teen behind the bike motioned his hand as if to zip his mouth and stay silent during the high speed chase. The bike slowed down and parked a few blocks away from a mid lower class apartment building, where they have reallocated the crates. Robin dragged the intruder to stealthily climb the outer stairs of another building to spy on the criminals. Jon stared at the apartment building with his x-ray vision to see that the lackeys inside the building only organising the item inside the crate, "Wouldn't it be faster if you just kill them and be done with it." Jon questioned.

"It's easier but I need to gather information. Therefore they need to be alive." Robin stated using his binoculars. Jonathan tilt his head to the side, "They probably not gonna do anything for the night. Transporting weapons is tiring enough." The blue eyes teen commented but Robin ignores him. The two stayed a few hours guarding. In the first two hours the the blue eyes teen manage to stay silent and watch by but the rest of the time, the older teen manage to fall asleep on the cold stairs railings while Robin on guard duty.  The domino mask teen shake the older teen shoulder after all of the involved lackeys left the apartment building. The older teen groaned and groggily sat up. "What time is it?" Jon yawned.

"Almost three AM." Robin informed and unlocking the handcuffs. "Need a ride home?" The young vintilage offered. Jon glanced at the bike parked bellow them and then Robin. The blue eyes teen prefers flying and shot the offer down. "Thanks for worrying. But nah, I can walk home by myself Baby bird." Jon winked.

"I hope you got shot on your walk home." Robin stated before hoping on to his bike after wearing his helmet. "See you soon, Robin." The older teen said and waved his hand goodbye. "I rather not." The other teen grimaced and proficiently turn his bike and speed up to the road. After the super make sure that Robin is out of sight. Jon quickly fly back to his house to see his parents already waiting in the living room. "I can explain." The teen quickly said. "Start explaining Jonathan." Lois motioned her hand for her son to continue talking.
