Work Text:

The city of Ninjago was at peace. For the first time in what felt like forever, the skies were clear, and the streets were quiet. It was a rare sight for the inhabitants, especially for the ninja who were always on the lookout for the next threat to emerge. Today, however, was different. There were no battles to fight, no villains to vanquish—just a simple day of rest.Master wu was out with pixal and zane. cole and kai where probably off making out somewhere knowing them. the two boys where like leaches, nya was in the kitchen trying it make some food by the looks of it

Lloyd Garmadon leaned back on the rooftop of the Monastery taking in the serene view. The breeze was gentle, carrying with it the scent of the blooming cherry blossoms in the courtyard below. He could hear the faint sound of laughter coming from the town below laughing of children living their childhoods not being a proficiency not needed to worry about their fathers being evil of having a bad day and wanting to kill the whole city just able to enjoy life. lloyf couldn't shake the feelimg of awful jealousy

“Hey, Lloyd!” Jay Walker’s voice rang out from behind him. “You just gonna sit there all day or are you gonna join the fun?”

Lloyd turned his head to see Jay, his usual grin plastered across his face. Jay’s energy was infectious, always managing to lighten the mood no matter how dire the situation. It was one of the many things Lloyd admired about him.Lloyd heart fluttered whenever he heard jt he was so enthusiastic

“Nah, I’m good here,” Lloyd replied with a smile. “Just taking it all in. We don’t get days like this often.”he stood there looking at the boys cheeks which had light brown freckles scattered all over them a slight tone of pink covering them his lips were slim and nice a pretty mix of pink and red from dried blood where he picks at his lips

Jay nodded, plopping down beside him. “True. But that’s exactly why we should make the most of it!” He nudged Lloyd playfully. “Come on, I’ll race you to the bottom of the courtyard. Last one there has to clean up after dinner!”

Lloyd chuckled, shaking his head. “You know I’m going to win, right?”

“Maybe, maybe not!” Jay shot back with a wink before taking off down the side of the building, using his elemental powers to glide effortlessly.

Lloyd watched him go, feeling a warmth in his chest that he couldn’t quite explain. He shook his head, dismissing it as a byproduct of the peaceful day. With a deep breath, he followed Jay, taking the more traditional route down the stairs.

lloyd tan after him "it's a little late mate don't you think" jay was still running down "fuvk me we got training in the morning"

"get ur ass in bed jay well talk tomorrow just…go" lloyd couldn't help shake the sadness that hung after the words that told jay to go "oh yeah, bye lloyd" jay tan too his room showing a toothy grin and small wave to lloyd

"i guess time for bed" lloyd thought

________________________________________________

Lloyd found himself standing in a desolate landscape, a world where shadows stretched infinitely and the air was thick with despair. The ground beneath him felt unstable, as if it could give way at any moment, and the sky above was an ominous shade of black, punctuated by occasional flashes of red lightning. Every instinct in his body screamed that something was wrong—terribly wrong—but his thoughts were clouded, and his surroundings were unfamiliar, like a distorted version of Ninjago he could barely recognize.

He called out for Jay, his voice echoing eerily in the vast emptiness. "Jay! Where are you?!" The silence that followed was deafening, a void that seemed to swallow his words whole. Panic surged through him as he started to run, his feet pounding against the cracked earth. He had to find Jay—had to make sure he was safe. But no matter how fast he ran or how loudly he shouted, there was no response, only the growing sense of dread gnawing at his heart.

Suddenly, the ground beneath him began to shift, the cracks widening into deep chasms that threatened to pull him into the abyss below. He stumbled, nearly losing his balance, but forced himself to keep moving. His mind was consumed by a single thought: *I have to protect him. I can’t lose him.* But the landscape around him seemed to conspire against him, growing more treacherous with every step.

In the distance, he saw a faint, flickering light. Hope surged within him, and he sprinted toward it, his breath coming in ragged gasps. As he drew closer, the light took shape, revealing a figure standing on the edge of a towering cliff. It was Jay, his silhouette illuminated by the eerie glow of the lightning that crackled in the sky.

"Jay!" Lloyd called out, his voice filled with relief and desperation. But as he approached, he noticed something was off. Jay stood with his back to Lloyd, staring out into the void beyond the cliff, his shoulders tense and unmoving. The closer Lloyd got, the more he could feel the overwhelming sense of danger in the air, like a storm on the brink of breaking.

"Jay, we need to get out of here," Lloyd urged, his heart pounding. He reached out to grab Jay’s arm, but as his fingers brushed against Jay’s sleeve, Jay pulled away, stepping closer to the edge.

"Lloyd," Jay’s voice was soft, almost defeated, and it sent a chill down Lloyd’s spine. "I’m sorry. I don’t think I can fight it anymore."

Panic seized Lloyd as he saw the ground beneath Jay beginning to crumble, chunks of earth falling away into the dark abyss below. "Jay, no!" Lloyd shouted, his voice breaking. He lunged forward, grabbing Jay’s wrist, but it was like trying to hold onto water—Jay’s form flickered, as though he was fading in and out of existence.

Jay turned to face him, and Lloyd’s heart shattered at the sight of his expression. Jay’s eyes were filled with sorrow and resignation, a look that spoke of a battle fought for too long, a weariness that Lloyd had never seen in him before. "I’ve tried so hard, Lloyd," Jay whispered, his voice trembling. "But I’m slipping away. I can’t hold on anymore."

"No! I won’t let you go!" Lloyd tightened his grip, trying to pull Jay back from the edge, but the ground continued to collapse, the cliff disintegrating beneath their feet. Lloyd could feel the pull of the void, the darkness tugging at Jay, trying to drag him down. "I promised I’d protect you, Jay. I won’t let this happen!"

But no matter how hard Lloyd tried, it was like the darkness had already claimed Jay, its grip unbreakable. Jay gave him a sad, resigned smile, one that broke Lloyd’s heart into a million pieces. "You can’t save me this time, Lloyd," Jay said softly. "This is something I have to face alone."

"No! We’re stronger together. We can fight this!" Lloyd pleaded, his voice raw with emotion. But Jay only shook his head, his form beginning to blur, his body becoming more and more transparent with each passing second.

"Lloyd, I… I love you," Jay whispered, his voice so faint it was almost lost in the howling wind. "But this is goodbye."

And with that, the ground beneath them gave way completely. Lloyd’s grip slipped as Jay was pulled into the void, his form vanishing into the darkness. Lloyd screamed, reaching out desperately, but there was nothing to grab onto—nothing to save Jay from the abyss.

Lloyd fell to his knees, his hand still outstretched, trembling. The world around him shattered like glass, fragments of reality falling away until there was nothing left but darkness. He was alone in the void, the silence pressing down on him like a weight he couldn’t bear.

He couldn’t protect Jay. He had failed the one person he loved most in the world.

Lloyd awoke with a start, his heart hammering in his chest, his body drenched in sweat. The nightmare’s lingering shadows clung to him, the echo of Jay’s voice still ringing in his ears. He reached out instinctively, searching for the comforting warmth of Jay beside him, but his hand met only the cold, empty space.

Tears welled up in Lloyd’s eyes as the reality of the nightmare began to fade, replaced by the painful truth—Jay was still here, safe, alive. But the fear of losing him, of failing to protect him, gnawed at Lloyd’s heart like a relentless beast. He curled up on the bed, clutching the blankets tightly, and tried to push the nightmare from his mind, but the fear remained, a shadow that refused to leave.

Lloyd knew he couldn’t lose Jay—not now, not ever. But the nightmare had planted a seed of doubt in his heart, a fear that he couldn’t shake. And as he lay there in the darkness, the only thing that brought him any comfort was the silent promise he made to himself: *I will protect you, Jay. No matter what it takes.

suddenly lloyd gets shooken away "lloyd are you okay you were screaming in your sleep"

The room was quiet, bathed in the soft glow of moonlight filtering through the window. Lloyd lay still, trying to calm his racing heart, but the nightmare lingered in his mind, its tendrils gripping him tightly. He could still see Jay’s sorrowful eyes, still feel the void where Jay had disappeared, and it took everything in him to hold back the tears that threatened to spill over.

He rolled onto his side, curling up in the blankets, desperately trying to convince himself that it was just a dream. But the fear, the overwhelming sense of loss, was too real to shake. His mind was a storm of thoughts, memories, and fears all swirling together in a chaotic mess.

Lloyd didn’t notice the soft creak of the door as it opened, nor did he hear the quiet footsteps approaching the bed. It wasn’t until he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder that he jolted in surprise, turning quickly to see Jay standing beside the bed, his expression filled with concern.

“Lloyd?” Jay’s voice was soft, laced with worry. “Are you okay? I heard you crying out in your sleep.”

Lloyd blinked, realizing that he must have cried out during the nightmare, his subconscious unable to contain the fear and pain he felt. He quickly wiped at his eyes, hoping Jay wouldn’t notice the tears that had escaped. “I’m fine,” he said, his voice shaky and unconvincing. “Just a bad dream.”

Jay frowned, not buying it for a second. He could see the distress written all over Lloyd’s face, the way his hands trembled slightly as he tried to brush it off. “Lloyd, talk to me. What happened?”

Lloyd opened his mouth to respond, but the words caught in his throat. How could he explain the nightmare? How could he tell Jay about the fear that had gripped him so tightly? The fear of losing him, of not being able to protect him, of failing the one person he loved more than anything?

He shook his head, turning away slightly, trying to put some distance between them. “It’s nothing, Jay. Really. I just… I don’t want to talk about it.”

But Jay wasn’t going to let it go that easily. He moved closer, sitting on the edge of the bed and placing a hand on Lloyd’s arm, his touch warm and reassuring. “Lloyd, you don’t have to go through this alone. Whatever it is, I’m here for you. Please, let me help.”

Lloyd’s resolve wavered at Jay’s words. The concern in Jay’s voice, the way he was looking at him, made it harder to keep the walls up. But the fear of revealing too much, of showing just how deeply he cared, held him back.

For a long moment, they sat in silence, the air heavy with unspoken words. Lloyd could feel Jay’s gaze on him, could feel the warmth of his hand on his arm, grounding him, pulling him back from the edge of the lingering nightmare. Finally, with a shaky breath, Lloyd spoke.

“I… I dreamt that I lost you,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “That no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t protect you. You were slipping away, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.”

Jay’s eyes softened with understanding, and he gave Lloyd’s arm a gentle squeeze. “It was just a nightmare, Lloyd. I’m right here, and I’m not going anywhere.”

Lloyd nodded, but the fear still clung to him, refusing to be soothed by Jay’s words. “I know it was just a dream, but… it felt so real. And I’m scared, Jay. I’m scared that one day I won’t be able to protect you. That I’ll lose you, and I won’t be able to do anything about it.”

Jay’s heart ached at the raw emotion in Lloyd’s voice, and he couldn’t bear to see him in so much pain. He shifted closer, wrapping his arms around Lloyd in a comforting embrace. “Lloyd, you’re one of the strongest people I know. You’ve saved me and everyone else more times than I can count. But you don’t have to carry this burden alone. We’re a team, remember? We protect each other.”

Lloyd leaned into the embrace, feeling some of the tension in his body begin to ease as he rested his head against Jay’s shoulder. Jay’s words were like a balm to his frayed nerves, but the fear was still there, lurking beneath the surface. “I know,” he whispered. “But it doesn’t stop me from worrying. You mean so much to me, Jay. I don’t know what I’d do if anything happened to you.”

"that sounds gay" jay said with a face lloyd understoof as disgust

lloyd worrying he messed up started to run away his breath was hitched in his throat as he ran "i'm sorrh jay"

Lloyd's heart felt like it was going to burst out of his chest as he bolted away from Jay, the words "That sounds gay" echoing endlessly in his mind. It wasn't just the words themselves, but the way Jay had said them, with that look on his face—a look that Lloyd immediately understood as disgust. A look that seemed to confirm every fear Lloyd had been harboring for months, maybe even years.

His breath caught painfully in his throat as he ran, stumbling over the rough cobblestones of the street. The tears stung at his eyes, blurring his vision, but he didn't dare stop, couldn't stop. His entire body felt like it was on fire, the panic swelling inside him like a tidal wave that threatened to drown him. "I'm sorry, Jay," he choked out between gasps, the words barely audible even to himself as he ran. "I'm so sorry..."

But what was he sorry for? For feeling this way? For hoping, even just a little, that Jay might feel the same? For ruining everything by being who he was?

Lloyd's thoughts were a chaotic mess, colliding and spiraling in on themselves as he rounded a corner, his legs burning with the effort of keeping up his pace. The buildings of Ninjago blurred into a smudge of colors as he raced through the streets, trying to put as much distance between himself and the person he cared about most—the person he had just driven away with his own stupidity.

As he ran, Lloyd could feel his chest tightening, the air refusing to fill his lungs no matter how desperately he tried to breathe. It was like a vise had clamped around his ribs, squeezing tighter and tighter until he was sure he was going to break. He had to keep moving, had to outrun the pain, the fear, the inevitable rejection that was closing in on him from all sides.

But his body was starting to betray him. His legs grew weaker with every step, his vision dimming at the edges as the world around him began to spin. The panic was clawing at him from the inside out, every breath a struggle as he stumbled and nearly fell. He reached out blindly, his hand catching on the rough brick of a nearby wall, but it wasn't enough to keep him upright. His knees buckled, and he collapsed against the wall, sliding down until he was sitting on the cold, hard ground.

Lloyd's head spun, and the world tilted precariously as he fought to get air into his lungs. His breaths were short, shallow, and painful, like he was trying to breathe through a straw. His hands trembled uncontrollably as he gripped his chest, as if he could somehow hold himself together through sheer willpower. But it was no use—the panic had him in its grip, and it wasn't letting go.

His mind was a storm of thoughts, each one more terrifying than the last. What if Jay hated him now? What if he had ruined everything? What if he lost the only person who had ever truly understood him? The fear was overwhelming, suffocating, and Lloyd could feel himself spiraling deeper and deeper into the darkness.

"I shouldn't have said anything," he whispered to himself, his voice barely audible over the sound of his own ragged breathing. "I should have just kept my mouth shut... Why did I think he could ever...?"

The thought was too painful to complete, and Lloyd squeezed his eyes shut, willing himself to disappear, to be anywhere but here, feeling anything but this. But the panic was relentless, his body betraying him with every agonizing breath. His heart pounded in his chest, each beat a painful reminder of his own helplessness, his own fear. He could feel his pulse throbbing in his temples, his vision going black at the edges as the world around him seemed to shrink.

He was going to pass out. He could feel it coming, the darkness closing in, and a small, distant part of him welcomed it. Maybe if he lost consciousness, the pain would stop. Maybe he could escape the crushing weight of his own fear, even if only for a little while.

But before the darkness could claim him, Lloyd felt a hand on his shoulder—warm, steady, familiar. The touch was like a lifeline, cutting through the haze of panic that had consumed him, pulling him back from the edge.

"Lloyd, hey... Hey, look at me. It's okay. Just breathe."

It was Jay's voice, soft and full of concern, but Lloyd couldn't bring himself to open his eyes. He couldn't face Jay, not now, not after everything. His body trembled violently, the panic still coursing through him, but Jay's hand was a steady presence, grounding him, keeping him from completely slipping away.

"I'm here, Lloyd," Jay said, his voice steady and reassuring. "I'm right here. Just try to breathe, okay? You're okay."

Lloyd tried to take a breath, but it caught in his throat, coming out as a desperate, choked sob. His hands clenched into fists, his nails digging into his palms as he struggled to get control of his breathing, but it was no use. The panic was too strong, too overwhelming, and all he could do was gasp for air as tears streamed down his face.

"Lloyd, please, just breathe with me, okay? Can you do that?" Jay's voice was closer now, right next to his ear, and Lloyd could feel the warmth of Jay's breath against his skin. It was grounding, something to hold onto, even as his world seemed to be falling apart.

"I'm sorry," Lloyd managed to choke out between gasps, his voice trembling with fear and guilt. "I'm so sorry, Jay... I didn't mean to—"

"Lloyd, no. You don't have to be sorry," Jay interrupted, his voice firm but gentle. "You don't have anything to be sorry for. I'm the one who messed up, okay? I shouldn't have said what I did."

Lloyd shook his head weakly, his chest still heaving with the effort of trying to breathe. He wanted to tell Jay that it wasn't his fault, that Lloyd had been the one who had ruined everything, but the words wouldn't come. All he could do was cry, the tears streaming down his face in a flood of emotion that he couldn't control.

Jay's arms wrapped around him then, pulling him close, and Lloyd collapsed against him, his body shaking with sobs. Jay held him tightly, one hand gently rubbing his back in a soothing motion, the other cradling the back of Lloyd's head. "It's okay," Jay whispered, his voice soft and full of regret. "It's okay, Lloyd. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."

Lloyd buried his face in Jay's shoulder, his tears soaking into Jay's shirt as he clung to him. The panic was still there, still clawing at him from the inside out, but Jay's presence was like a balm, slowly easing the worst of it. It was still hard to breathe, each breath coming in short, shaky gasps, but the tightness in his chest was beginning to loosen, just a little.

They stayed like that for what felt like an eternity, Jay holding Lloyd as he cried, as the storm of emotions slowly began to calm. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them, clinging to each other in the dark. And slowly, painfully, Lloyd's breathing began to even out, the panic receding just enough that he could think again.

When Lloyd finally pulled back, his face was pale, his eyes red and swollen from crying. He couldn't bring himself to look at jay

"Hey hunny look at me" Jay said tilting lloyds head up "this is the only way i think i can apologise" Jay leened down and pressed his soft lips against lloyds chapped bleeding ones putting his hands in lloyd messy looking blonde curles "Is that better ?"

Lloyd looked up stunned at the sudden kiss his mouth agape he reached his hand to touch his lips but beofre he could a loud voice penetrated the silence of the room
