Work Text:

"It's weird spending a night in your office."

Ema commented, munching on one of her beloved snackoos on the couch.

Wright was sitting next to her, his arm around her neck.

"It's the best place to relax."

He approached her and before she could eat another snack, he stole a quick kiss on her lips.

They were even sweeter and more delicious than what she was eating.

She giggled and gently placed the snack in her hand in his mouth.

"Dummy."

She cuddled him with her free hand, caressing his face that was sculpted like marble.

"You're sure there's no problem, right?"

She pressed him like a true lawyer.

"Well the case I was working on was already solved today. Luckily I had the best forensic detective in the world on my side."

She rolled her eyes, unable to hide her smile.

"Flatterer."

He leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the neck, sending her a shiver of pleasure.

"Trucy is working on her new show, Apollo has already returned home, he brought all the documentation with him of the case. Tonight we will not have anyone to disturb us..."

He continued with small and quick kisses on her adorable neck, but she still seemed worried.

"Athena?"

"She has a date with the prosecutor Blackquill..."

Ema settled herself more comfortably on the couch.

"Are they already dating? I didn't expect it. I mean, yes, I expected it but not so soon..."

She commented amused, her mind ready to ask all the most interesting details to Athena herself.

"I understand them a little, you know? I mean, when you see someone you love after years, it's normal not to want to waste a moment..."

He ran a hand through her long, straight, walnut-brown hair and she smiled softly at him, resting her head in his hand.

"Well, I didn't expect Thena and I to share the same taste in men."

She cooed, giggling.

"Ooh, and how are we similar to Prosecutor Blackquill?"

He challenged her slyly.

"Two brilliant lawmen wrongly accused of crimes they didn't commit, betrayed by the legal system they've always protected and that turned its back on them, throwing them away like garbage. And yet, their hearts haven't been corrupted by all the wickedness they've poured on them..."

Wright was taken aback, composing himself on the couch.

"Oh. I-I didn't expect that kind of speech, I don't know what to-"

"Aaaaaand..." Ema interrupted him, placing her index finger on his lips.

"Two old grumps."

"There, exactly."

She laughed heartily as Wright pretended to be offended.

"Well, I could say the same about you and Athena."

Ema raised an eyebrow and looked at him flirtatious.

"Because we're both charming and brilliant career women?"

Wright stole her bag of snackoos, catching her off guard.

"Two gluttons."

Ema made an adorable pout and threw herself on top of him.

They laughed, she trying to take the bag and he preventing her in every way.

"Didn't you say you wanted to avoid sweets because your ass was 'too big'?"

He teased her.

Ema looked at him with a predatory smile, reminiscent of a cat chasing a mouse.

"I remember you liked it...or am I wrong?"

A firm grip on her behind made her jump.

"Never denied it."

He replied cheekily and kissed her possessively, taking her breath away.

Ema's hands began to move slowly towards his red tie.

"I guess I'll have to find another way to get my snackoos back. A much more fun way."

"Speaking of it...I had something different in mind tonight."

Ema stopped.

"Should I get the handcuffs?"

"No, this time I was thinking more about a little game..."

He whispered to her in a warm tone of voice that made Ema's heart skip a beat.

--

"Strip Poker, really?"

Ema settled herself near the table, watching fascinating as her man shuffled the deck of cards with ease.

Such a simple gesture, yet he, like every trial he took part in, managed to make it a real spectacle.

"Isn't that cheating? You're much better than me, you'd win right away."

"Are you afraid of losing?"

He teased her cheekily, sneakily, showing a mischievous smile.

His damned beautiful mischievous smile.

Ema scoffed, ignoring the blush on her cheeks.

She took off her glasses with pink lenses, placed them on the table and unbuttoned a couple of the buttons of her pink shirt, confidently showing off a bit of her provocative cleavage.

"Let's get started."

--

"Wrighty?"

"...yes, honey?"

"Aren't you cold?"

She teased him gently, after all she hadn't lost once.

Wright was left in just a white boxer with heart motifs.

"Not even a little!"

He lied shamelessly.

"Well, that's good for me."

She commented amused, watching the continuous swaying of his sculpted pectorals.

"If I were you I wouldn't be so sure to win. The night is still long."

Ema bit her lip.

Was he just bluffing? Or did he have some winning cards this time?

The tension was broken by the jingling of keys.

"You said no one would be here!"

Ema said quickly, irritated and worried by this unpleasant interruption.

Wright waved a hand nonchalantly and stood up.

"It must be Apollo who forgot something for that damn case. I'll send him away."

"Are you sure you want to go like this?"

"That man has seen me in worse conditions haha!"

Before leaving their room he pointed a warning finger at her.

"Don't peek at the cards."

He went out whistling while Ema stared longingly at those cards on the table.

"He might get angry if he found out I peeked. Who knows what penalty he might give me..."

She held back an excited giggle, imagining the spicy implications of her choice.

"Apollo!" she heard Wright say forcefully from the other room.

"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!"

"CYKES-DONO, GET BEHIND ME!!"

There was a succession of screams and sounds of beatings.

Ema put a hand on her forehead, frustrated.

"I knew it..."

--

"I'm sorry. I ruined your night, Ema."

Athena told her.

She held a cup of hot tea, prepared by the other woman in the kitchen.

"A busy night suits me."

They laughed and sipped their hot drinks.

"Nice coat."

Ema said as she saw the black coat at least two sizes too big over her friend's bare shoulders.

"It was cold outside so Simon lent it to me."

Athena shyly hugged the garment, taking comfort in its warmth.

Around her neck, Widget glowed a shade of pink, making his feelings clear at that moment.

"A true gentleman."

Ema commented, happy to see her friend bein so happy.

She rested her elbow on Athena's left shoulder.

"And if you want to take off something else grim him besides the coat, I can give you some helpful advice."

Ema winked and laughed when she saw Athena completely embarrassed, hiding her bright red face with both hands.

--

In another room of the office

"I beg your pardon, Wright-Dono!"

The imposing Simon bent his torso so much that it looked like he might fall over at any moment.

"Come on, there's no need to be so formal! It was all just a misunderstanding."

The beaten man scratched the back of his head in embarrassment, trying to avoid touching the bumps.

"Wright-Dono, I have something else I need to ask you..."

"I'm listening."

The big man avoided looking him in the eyes, blushing.

"Don't be shy. If you need any love advice I-"

"Actually..."

Simon interrupted him.

"...I wanted to ask you if you could put your clothes back on. It's a little awkward talking to you like this."

Wright, still wearing only his boxers, sighed and scratched the back of his head.

This time he touched the bumps and barely held back a cry of pain.
