"I can't believe you'd do this to me." A voice echoed through the house as Jack wandered through his home.
"What?" Jack questioned while he frantically searched around for the mysterious voice that seemed eerily familiar.
"You know what you did, Jack." The voice answered.
Jack was impossibly confused as he kept searching around the house. There was nothing and no-one around, where on earth was this mysterious person?
"Oh Jack Merridew, such a poor soul." The voice chuckled as Jack felt a cold breeze drift past him.
"Where and who are you?" Jack exclaimed before his choirboy uniform from years before appeared out of nowhere and dropped in front of him.
"You know who I am." The voice sent a shudder down Jack's spine, it couldn't possibly?
"And to help you, theres two of us, and you know very well who we are." The voice proclaimed as a stick fell in front of him.
Jack grabbed his head in a desperate attempt to cease the memories flowing back to him. He didn't want to remember, he didn't want to remember the old Jack Merridew. The psychopath, the murderer, the ruthless, The Chief.
"STOP IT!" He shouted, "That's not possible, not at all, GO AWAY!" He shook his head around, falling to the ground with tears streaming down his face. His mind was clouded with memories of the past, ones that had haunted him for the past several years. The ones he tried to forget, tried to right his wrongs but then he also remembered his rejection. He knew his actions were wrong and irredeemable but hearing it directly from someone hurt ten times more, yet it was nothing compared to the hurt of the other people.
Once Jack was fully on the ground, he started banging his fists against it as the voice kept echoing to him, 'you know what you did' and 'how could you do this to us?' Jack couldn't escape the voices, the rejections, the realisation, he was stuck in a never-ending cycle. He realised that this was not normal a long time ago but he couldn't just go to therapy, what was he going to say? Hey, I murdered two people while stranded on an island and now I think they're haunting me and I need help mentally.
It would work, if the therapist weren't scared of his murderous past. So, here he lived, abandoned by his parents with a large sum of money in a rundown house in rural California, miles away from Britain. He had his job as a farmer, milking cows, he contemplated getting pets but was afraid of his instincts and decided against the idea.
Instead, the only thing keeping him company was the constant voices and reminders of his past, but today he thought, was the worse. They had never touched him before, or did any physical actions yet there stood his old choirboy uniform and the cold breeze on his shoulder. Jack stood in shock still before he felt a cold, freezing hand touch his shoulder. It was slightly big and felt familiar, then another hand touched his other shoulder, a smaller hand with an even more familiar touch.
Jack shuddered as he turned around, ghosts weren't real right? He would agree with that statement if the ghost of Piggy and Simon weren't standing in front of him. Simon looked just as he did on the island except he was wearing casual clothes, clothes that Jack remembered as Simon's favourite whenever they went out as a choir to different cities and hung around.
Piggy was wearing what Jack assumed was his casual clothes, and Piggy looked happy. Not the happy that he looked on the island, genuinely happy for once. Jack wondered if Piggy was ever happy on the island.
After Jack finished taking in the two boy's appearance, the two ghosts stepped forward and kneeled down to face Jack.
"Jack, I think it's time. I think it's time for you to apologise." Simon calmly told Jack as he held out his hand. Jack in response simply nodded as he grabbed Simon's hand and stood up.
Piggy let the way out of Jack's house and instead of seeing his beloved backyard cows, he was confronted with the sight of a bright light. Simon waited for Jack and after a while slightly tugged Jack's hand before Jack started following the two ghost's again. Finally, the three of them reached the entrance to the bright lights.
"Hey, Simon? Piggy? I don't know if you'll ever forgive me, and I know I should've said this earlier, heck, I shouldn't have even done it. But I really hope the two of you could forgive me, I am really really sorry for what I did to you guys. It's inexcusable and I understand if you don't forgive me." Jack blabbered out.
Simon simply smiled and gestured to Piggy who then said, "Jack, we already forgave you. Actually it was Simon who forgave you and then explained to me why. Maybe one day you will see the goodness in yourself, after all aren't we all sinners?"
Those were the last words Piggy said before dragging Simon and Jack into the bright light.

"Hey Jack? Heavens to Betsy Jack what on earth??" Ralph screamed as he saw Jack's body laying on the floor, motionless. Ralph quickly dialled 911 as he checked Jack's pulse and everything. He was dead.
Ralph couldn't believe it; he flew all the way from Britain to America just to find Jack dead on the ground. He wouldn't even get to tell Jack what he wanted to tell him after all these years.
