Chapter Text
Chilling and fearsome was the color of which his blade shone. Hu Tao shivered, not from the cold but rather from the fear it froze into her very being. She felt her blood run cold from the sight of Chongyun. Gone were the gentle blue in his eyes. Now, the hue of ocean depths replaced his loving gaze with that of anger and loathing.
“Upon my name as Ranni, God of Stars.” he mouthed, a cold female voice coming from his lips. “My descendant shall not suffer thee.”
The Fatui scrambled to their feet. Some took to flight and some took a stance to fight. But, all of them were mere specks of dust compared to the blizzard that was Chongyun’s fury. Hu Tao tried to stand but was thrown back by a sudden shockwave of frost. She tumbled over debris and frozen corpses, her brow now bleeding and her body screaming in pain.
She laid still, only having enough strength to raise her head and gaze at the Chongyun that once was. A spectral afterimage now overlapped that of Chongyun’s, with their right eye being the center of their fusion.
“Hateful cretins.” he murmured still with the voice of a woman. “Foolish humans.”
A Fatui agent stepped forward, his cloak burning with a flame that delivered onto Hu Tao visions of despair and insanity. His head was gone, replaced with what seemed like a burning singularity – the Flame of Frenzy .
Chongyun pointed his sword at the agent, the blade dripping with cold fog. “Send word far and wide. Of the last rightful inheritor of the stars.”
The agent clutched his imaginary head and roared with madness.
“Not the finest blade nor the mightiest god… ” Chongyun said, his voice now returned. “...shall spare your life, from the frost of Chonghua.”
