Work Text:

It was a quiet evening at the UA Heights Alliance dorms, a rare moment of calm after the chaos of the past year. The students of Class 1-A were now in their second year, having weathered the storm of war and come out stronger on the other side. Despite the heavy burdens they all carried, tonight, they were just a group of teenagers trying to enjoy a well-deserved break.

In Bakugo’s room, the atmosphere was unusually peaceful. Izuku and Bakugo were spending time together, as they often did when they weren’t training or studying. The bond between them had deepened after the war, evolving from childhood rivalry to something far more complex and meaningful.

Izuku sat on the edge of Bakugo’s bed, flipping through his hero notes, but his attention kept drifting. He glanced up from his scribbles to watch Bakugo, who was doing push-ups on the floor with his usual intensity. Despite the fierce focus on Bakugo’s face, Izuku could tell that his boyfriend’s mind wasn’t entirely on the exercise.

“Katsuki,” Izuku called softly, correcting himself as he’d grown used to doing since Bakugo’s apology. The name still felt new on his tongue, but it warmed him to say it.

Bakugo grunted in acknowledgment, but didn’t stop his routine. “What is it, Izuku?”

Izuku smiled, enjoying the way Bakugo’s voice softened slightly whenever he used his name. “You’ve been at it for a while. How about you take a break?”

Bakugo huffed, as if to argue, but the way Izuku was looking at him made it difficult to refuse. Izuku had a way of getting through Bakugo’s defenses, especially now that their relationship had deepened. It wasn’t just the physical training that made Bakugo’s heart race anymore—it was moments like these, when Izuku looked at him with those determined eyes, full of affection and care.

"Fine,” Bakugo muttered, getting up and moving to sit beside Izuku on the bed. “But if you’re gonna make me stop, you better make it worth my while.”

Izuku’s smile grew, his confidence shining through as he leaned closer, his hand resting on Bakugo’s shoulder. “Oh, I plan to.”

Bakugo tensed, feeling the warmth of Izuku’s hand on his skin as he grabbed him in his waist hands settling on katsuki. He was good at hiding his reactions, but when Izuku was this close, it was harder to keep his cool. He tried to focus on anything but the way Izuku’s touch made him feel, but it was impossible when Izuku’s hands tightened around his waist, sending shivers down his spine.

Izuku didn’t stop there. He leaned in even further, his lips brushing against Bakugo’s ear as he spoke softly. “I’ve missed being close to you like this.”

Bakugo’s breath caught, his usual bravado melting away as Izuku’s warm breath tickled his skin. He turned his head slightly, trying to keep his composure, but the blush on his cheeks was undeniable. “Damn it, Izuku,” he muttered, his voice betraying his flustered state.

Izuku’s fingers moved from Bakugo’s waist to his neck, gently massaging the tense muscles. “Is it really that bad to relax with me?” he asked, his voice a mix of teasing and tenderness.

Bakugo’s resolve crumbled as he leaned into Izuku’s touch, his eyes fluttering closed. “You’re a damn softie, you know that?” he grumbled, though there was no real heat in his words.

Izuku’s smile softened as he leaned in, closing the distance between them. He placed a tender kiss on Bakugo’s lips, the gentle contact sending a warm thrill through both of them. The kiss was brief but full of unspoken affection, and when Izuku pulled back, he looked into Bakugo’s eyes with a soft smile.

Bakugo’s heart pounded in his chest, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, he rested his forehead against Izuku’s, his eyes still closed as he let himself savor the intimacy of the moment. “You’re a pain in the ass,” he said quietly, but there was a fondness in his voice that spoke volumes.

Izuku’s hand cupped Bakugo’s face, his thumb gently brushing over his cheek. “I know. But you wouldn’t have me any other way."

They stayed like that for a while, the silence between them filled with a comfortable, unspoken understanding. The rest of the world seemed to fall away as they shared this tender moment, a quiet respite from the chaos they usually faced.

But, as was often the case in the UA dorms, their peace was soon interrupted. A loud knock on the door was followed by Mina’s cheerful voice calling out, “Hey, lovebirds! We’re starting a game downstairs, and you two better be there!”

Izuku sat up, startled, while Bakugo rolled his eyes, grumbling under his breath. “Can’t even get a moment’s peace around here,” he muttered.

Mina, completely unfazed by Bakugo’s gruff demeanor, pushed the door open with a grin. “C’mon, you guys! It’s been forever since we’ve all had some fun together. You gotta join us!”

Izuku turned to Bakugo with a hopeful smile. “What do you think,? It might be nice to spend some time with everyone.”

Bakugo sighed, knowing he could never really say no to Izuku when he asked like that. “Fine. But only because you want to,” he relented, standing up and offering Izuku his hand.

Izuku took it, his heart warming at the gesture. “Thanks, Kacchan.”

As they headed downstairs to join their classmates, neither of them realized that the evening’s game of truth or dare would end up revealing something they had never thought to hide in the first place.

The common room was buzzing with energy as the students gathered around. Mina was, of course, the ringleader, already setting up the game with her usual enthusiasm. “Alright, everyone! We’re gonna play truth or dare, and no backing out!”

zuku and Bakugo took their places on the couch, sitting close enough that their shoulders brushed. Bakugo’s usual scowl was in place, but Izuku could feel the tension in his body. He knew Katsuki didn’t really like these kinds of games, but Izuku was glad they were spending time with their friends, even if it meant enduring a bit of embarrassment.

The game started off simple enough—some harmless dares, a few silly truths. But as the rounds went on, the questions became bolder, and the dares more daring. Eventually, it was Mina’s turn again, and she turned her gaze toward Izuku with a mischievous grin.

“Alright, Izuku, truth or dare?”

With a slight hesitation, Izuku sheepishly said, “Uhm.. dare.”

Mina’s eyes lit up with mischief as she leaned forward, clearly excited. “Okay, I dare you to kiss Bakugo!”

A shocked silence fell over the room. The Bakusquad and Dekusquad exchanged hesitant glances, unsure of how this would play out. Katsuki’s eyes widened slightly, his usual cool demeanor wavering for just a moment. But before anyone could fully process the situation, Izuku was already on his feet.

Izuku crossed the room with purpose, determination clear in his stride. Katsuki barely had time to react before Izuku’s hands were on either side of his face, pulling him into a kiss that was anything but hesitant. The kiss was firm and confident, full of the intensity that only Izuku could bring.

Gasps echoed around the room as the rest of the class watched in stunned silence. It wasn’t just the kiss that left everyone speechless—it was the way Izuku moved with such certainty, as if this was the most natural thing in the world, hands wrapping around Katsuki's waist whilst kissing him with such fervor and anticipation. Katsuki, despite the initial shock, didn’t resist. Instead, he leaned into the kiss, his hands gripping Izuku’s shirt as if grounding himself in the moment.

When they finally pulled apart, the room erupted into chaos.

“Wait, what?!” Kaminari blurted out, eyes wide.

“No way! You two are dating?!” Mina practically screamed, her hands flailing in excitement.

Kirishima, ever the supportive friend, broke into a huge grin. “So you guys are really together? That’s awesome!”

Izuku, still catching his breath, glanced around at his classmates, looking slightly bewildered by their reactions. “Uh… yeah. We didn’t really keep it a secret. We just thought you all knew.”

Katsuki, trying to maintain some semblance of composure despite the heat rising to his cheeks, growled, “You’re all idiots if you didn’t notice.”

But the room was already abuzz with disbelief and excitement. Mina leaned forward, her grin widening. “I can’t believe we missed this! How long have you two been together?”

Izuku smiled softly, his hand still resting on Katsuki’s arm. “For a while now. It just… happened naturally, I guess.”

Katsuki rolled his eyes but didn’t pull away, his usual scowl softened by the slight upturn of his lips. “Whatever. Just drop it already.”

The rest of the group quickly joined in, offering congratulations and teasing them both relentlessly. The tension in the room had dissolved into laughter and warmth, the revelation of Izuku and Katsuki’s relationship bringing an unexpected but welcome sense of unity.

For the rest of the night, the dorm was filled with the sound of camaraderie and laughter, the kind of atmosphere that made the chaos of their lives as heroes-in-training feel a little less daunting. And if Izuku and Katsuki sat a little closer together, or exchanged a few more glances than usual, no one dared to point it out—not because they were afraid of Bakugo’s temper, but because they were genuinely happy for the couple.
