"Hey, Leia," said Jay as he entered Leia's bedroom. He looked at the empty space she'd been staring at. "Who were you just talking to?"
"Uh ... I was just listening to Lisa Loeb," said Leia.
"Leia, I really didn't want to seduce your mom, but it's the only way I could fix what you did," said Jay.
Leia stood up and said, "You know what? I'm sick of chasing after you like I'm the only one who needs to apologize. Last summer, you made me feel like everything was great, and then, out of nowhere, you just broke up with me."
"But then I said never mind."
"That messed with my head, and it hurt."
"Please, don't make it worse than it already is. Wasn't that what you did to me after the rave? Messing with my head? And before you ask, Ozzie told me what your plan was. I was a jerk, I know that, but you're making all this out to be my fault? Leia, you kissed my best friend."
"Almost! Almost! Almost!"
"Well, I don't know what to do. I can't take back what I did."
"Well, I can't either." Leia sat down on her bed, sighing. "This sucks."
"I just ... I wish we could start with a clean start and not mess everything up this time."
"Why can't we just do that?"
"'Cause normally girls aren't up for forgetting all the things I did wrong."
"Let's just clean the slate. I'll go first. I'm sorry for messing with your head after the rave, and I'm sorry I almost kissed Nate."
Jay sighed deeply. "And I'm sorry for messing with your head. And your mom. And for all the dumb stuff I'll probably do in the future because I wanna be together for a very long time."
"I missed you."
"Leia. You have no idea."
Jay and Leia leaned in and kissed each other, both of them grateful that they're starting with a clean slate.
