Work Text:

The little boy was huddled for comfort, having cried himself to sleep.

The raggedy doll dirty and torn, no matter that, as it was his only friend, it seemed.

At least that is what he kept telling himself. A lie perhaps, but just as potent as that.

As his so called real friends, his family, his brothers of sorts really, those other batchers not protecting him from the others, the bigger boys teasing constantly.

Those nasty words still hurting, even if the punches did not really that much.

But Lula was there for him, always, no matter how bad things got. No matter how much everything in him and around him made him hurt. No matter if the galaxy into a void was being hurled.

There was one constant in his small universe always and forever present.

Lula, the one and only friend Wrecker could always trust in the best.

*

The young cadet he had grown up to be, a big and certainly powerful teenager as the others around called him, those ones both far and near.

But, all them growing pains, the aches from not just feelings and emotions never experienced, the joints and muscles from all that training, but also, being enhanced, growing up all too fast causing issues something totally insane!

The muted cries, the tears hidden from others, afraid of being ridiculed, tormented, just for showing some emotion because it hurt.

And yet, the comfort the boy still sought, was the same one since having been a very young boy.

The gift given by the one who cared for him, for them, the most. 99, a father figure of sorts, the doll so precious, it could never have been replaced by any other.

Lula, the tooka doll, perhaps a tad worn. But Wrecker did not care. As for him, Lula was always there, never ever minding the tears nor the state he might have been in.

*

The clone trooper tough and rugged, a Powerhouse they called him, hefty by his own accord.

But never too proud to give in to a good cry when the time was upon. Which sometimes was a given, and with it there was nothing wrong!

A mission gone bad, a friend in dire straits, hurt, anger, pain. Whatever the reason behind those pesky feelings, he really did not care whether to show them or not, at least, not in front of the one who had always been there for him the most.

Lula, the doll, a tooka of sorts.

Having been born of recycled cloth, stolen thread and some needlework, having been put together plenty of times, and yet somehow, this precious stuffed animal, kept on giving. All those times when things had been livid.

It might have been an inanimate object, something never to be worshipped. But for the now grown trooper quite special, it was as living and breathing of a being as the trooper himself.

As the only constant in the galaxy, perhaps even the universe itself, was the unconditional love between Wrecker and his comfort tooka doll, Lula. The two of them never apart for too long.
