"You really don't need to bring this to me every day," Hiromi noted, looking into his thermos at the strange semi viscous smoothie the scientist had prepared for him. It was purple this time.
"It's part of your regimen, so yes, I do have to," George quipped.
All things considered, there was no reason Hiromi should be going along with this at all. The man had nearly killed him and while this was to make up for the damage, he had almost no reason to put any faith in George Karizaki.
He took a swig of the concoction.
It wasn't the worst one he'd given him.
"I tried to put some blueberries in this time. The antioxidants should stimulate cell regeneration if anything," the scientist explained.
The tone assured him most definitely had nothing to do with the fact Hiromi mentioned that he enjoyed them the last time they had gone out for sweets together.
Hiromi couldn't help but crack a smile.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing," Hiromi responded. "It's better than last time. Thank you."
"That's good to hear," George responded, trying and failing to let slip his pleasure at Hiromi's enjoyment. "You're going to be drinking them for at least the next year. That would be better if you enjoyed them at the very least."
Despite all the hurt he had caused him, Hiromi couldn't bring himself to hate the man. He was trying to make amends in the only way he knew how.
And that was enough for Hiromi.
"Really. Thank you, Karizaki-san."
