Summary:

WELCOME TO CAMP HERE AND THERE!
Ive always wondered about the chnt campers, what their thoughts throughout the story where like. So, I took that into my own hands.
These goobers will face the challenges that Sydney would describe in the podcast. i luv them el o el
so each chapter will be an episode + the first extra chapter

Notes:

I’ve been on a hiatus on this for quite a while, I am still fixated on chnt, but I’ve just been focusing my writing to other stuff!! In fact, I’m hoping to get some of my pieces published soon! So uh, yeahh!!

Chapter Text

“Ezra!! Over here!!” As I get dropped off to this summer camp, I hear my dear friend, Gwen, say those words. I pop up to see her waving her arm in the air rapidly as if the call for me wasn’t enough.
“Gwen!” I come running over, dragging my luggage and bags for this almost three month camp.
“Are you excited! It’s our first year here!”
“Out of all the camps we’ve been to together, I have a good feeling about this one.”
“You say that about every camp we’ve been to and yet it always ends up horrible.”
“Like when??”
“The mosquito infestation from last year!?”
We joked around a bit while entering the camp ground. The camp itself was a very rinky-dinky place. We went around trying to find our cabin, and we got placed in cabin silkworm.
“I am so glad we got placed in the same cabin this year!” Gwen comments. “Dude, don’t remind me of the year when we didn’t, that was so boring without you!” I chuckled a bit. Around then, we found the cabin, not a big walk really. Upon walking up to the cabin, two councilors sat on the stairs. One stands up.
“Hey! You two part of cabin silkworm?” She questions us. “Yes ma’am!” I reply, putting a grin on my face. “Great! Well, I’m Yvonne, the scrawny one is Joshua…”
“Hey!” Joshua speaks up, but Yvonne continues to talk.
“Welcome to camp here and there, as long as we don’t have an incident like last year we should be fine!” She spoke in a proud manner. “Ehh, I think we have like, uhh… fifteen people already here, plus you two, so seventeen… and we have eighteen kiddos, so one more person! You guys can start settling in!” Yvonne opens the door for us. We both say our thanks as we enter. The inside was much bigger than what the outside had me expecting. A spacious room, with ten bunk beds, twenty beds overall (two for the councilors).
Luckily, there were two beds right next to each other on the top bunks, unclaimed. Naturally, Gwen and I placed our luggage on top. We sat, talking, and taking out our trinkets and such to decorate our little cabin with! “Here it is..!” Gwen tugs out a rope. “The ultimate rope of camp and other outside of school activities??” I lean over to their side to see it. Each knot was a shirt, the shirt being one got from every activity we’ve been together. “Of course it is!” She finishes pulling them out. Automatically I start pinning the rope to the side of our
The final kid enters the door, The councilors coming in quickly after.
“Can I get everyone’s attention please?” Yvonne calls out. Everyone, including myself, turns their body to the two. “Great, welcome to camp here and there of course! I’m Yvonne, and Joshua is my co-councilor. So hopefully you ate before coming here… mmnn, anyways activities and such start tomorrow! Just try to stay in the cabin tonight. No swimming!” They finish her talking. The room goes back to the regular yapping. I could see Joshua struggling to say something to the cabin as everyone just ignored him unintentionally.
The rest of the time was spent eating snacks, drawing, and yapping. Gwen and I pondered about what could possibly happen at camp here and there. Some kids came up to us asking what we were drawing. As any artist would do I hid my sketchbook away as fast as I could.
A few hours later, Yvonne speaks up again. “Okay everyone! The time is 10:00, and that means lights out!” She places her hand over the light switch. Many groaned, and which were not ready for this. “Did none of you hear Joshua when he told you this?” They laugh.
“No,” someone in the crowd just blatantly states. “Well, understandable, I probably wouldn’t either.” As they said this Joshua popped up “uh, hey! I know that people respect me!”
“Okay believe whatever you want.”
He sighs and goes back to whatever he was doing - scrapbooking?
“Anyways, yeah flashlights can still be used, just please don’t swing them around while they’re on. And if they have a strobe feature, please turn them off as soon as possible when they turn on that mode, okay?.. Okay. We also have ear plugs, so if you need or want those you're more than welcome to. And if anything happens while either of us is asleep please wake us up to report it! Goodnight then!” She flips the switch with a smile. When the lights turned off, some people in the room yelped, but most turned on their flashlights and lanterns.
“Y’know, we should probably get some sleep. Don’t want to be sloggy all day on our first day!” Gwen mentions. “Yeah.. honestly should… Good night then!” I get snug under the blanket and the stiff mattress. Gwen followed me soon after. Hoping that the cabin wouldn’t be too loud for us, we eventually dozed off into the next day.
