Kaeya enter the angel share per usual, placing his cool facade on, truth be told, his nerves were going crazy. He is greeted by Diluc running the bar while Venti and Rosaria greet him, telling them would be difficult,
Albedo recently told him to meet them at Vanessa’s Tree so he could propose to Kaeya, Albedo literally told him that they were going to ask Kaeya to marry them at a training session, they literally spoiled his own proposal. Worst part? He had to say it twice for Kaeya to understand, it was embarrassing and he was red in the face. They both still follow through with the original plan only it lost some of the sweet romantic charm and it was really awkward. He needs to teach Albedo how be more discreet.
“Captain Kaeya!” Venti called out “You finally arrived, the place was quite derived of fun,”
“Well it’s a good thing I have just the thing to liven things up, say, you down for a game?”
“Oh? Well go on, game do make me quite fond”
“Alright, alright. The game is a guessing game, it will test how much you all know me, you can all work together if you want. I’ll ask different questions and once you get the answer I’ll move on to the next question, at the end, I’ll get drinks for everyone”
This pique not only Venti and Rosaria’s interests but also Diluc, a guessing game?
“Well free alcohol is free alcohol, start.” Rosaria said
“Question 1! Do I have a girlfriend?” Kaeya asked straight to the gutter, it was a easy question and prepared the others for what’s to come
Diluc was admittedly caught off guard, as far he knew, kaeya never was into any girls and would often sneak away for any situation that ended up happening like that
“ Not that I think of, are you into someone?!” Venti respond, it was a daring and had that been the case, Mondstadt would have gone wild with that gossip.
“I wonder who.. the ladies would go wild on the lucky girl” Rosaria remarked, though it held some truth, Kaeya doubted that the girls would ever do that, at most just tease them
“ To answer, Venti’s correct, I do not have a girlfriend, though I am into someone” Kaeya responded, that question was a trick question, he didn’t have a girlfriend or boyfriend technically but he was in a relationship.
Venti stared at him wide eyed, Rosaria seem even more interested and Kaeya could feel Diluc’s gaze burn his back off. This information was fairly new and both as Kaeya and Albedo didn’t actually tell any directly about their relationship before marriage, he remembered a time when Kaeya called Albedo ‘Hot’ during a mission and didn’t realize Amber was there.
“Wait who?!” Venti exclaimed, the bard had been told that his friend was dating? Crushing? Since when?!
“How long was this even, it can’t be old news, you would have told us earlier?” Rosaria said, if only she knew. To be fair, most of their ‘dates’ were just them talking about Klee or their day, Klee would even join them on those day every once in a while. From an outside perspective, they seem like close friends, family or colleagues
“Patience is key, you’re all going to find out in the end. Ready for the next round?”
Venti simply nodded while the others watched
“Question 2! I mentioned that I was into someone, tell me, was it a boy? Or in other words, am I gay?” Kaeya was getting into real personal details now, though he thought that slowly telling them but by bit was better then dumping the news on them, this can’t be worst than whatever Albedo telling the knights. They planned to tell their family about it separately.
… Maybe he went to quickly with this question as Rosaria spits out the booze at the sudden question
“Wait what?!” Venti’s reaction wasn’t any different, if he didn’t feel Diluc presence then, he definitely felt it now. This information was really ever told to Jean and Diluc himself, and while it wasn’t a secret, he wasn’t necessarily asked and they was no reason to tell anyone,
“Wait you never-“ Diluc said only cutting himself off before anything else
“You knew!?” Venti yelled
Kaeya was probably enjoying this a little too much “Go on Master Diluc, you can tell them. After all, everyone can’t work together”
“Master Diluc please!!” Venti stared at him puppy eyed
Diluc signed before starting “Me and Captain Kaeya used to lived together with my father, Master Crepus. One day, Kaeya confessed that he was Bisexual and to me and Jean during a game of truth or dare”
Venti looked back at Kaeya while Rosaria spoke “Huh, that actually make a lot of sense, men and women alike all ways wanted a piece huh, to bad your heart’s taken” a sly smirk crawl up her face, it was subtle but playful
“Question 3 shall we? What am I wearing? See if you can catch anything different” Kaeya said, moving on to the next part of his game, fiddling with his hands and jewelry
“Oh? Well your wearing your uniform, nothing out the ordinary there, though I think your wearing more jewelry perhaps?” Compared to the other question, this sounded more tame even though it was one of the most important questions in Kaeya’s opinion.
“Correct, however can you anything more specific?” Kaeya smirked, trying not to grin as he checked his nails in front of Venti and Rosaria.
“Your wearing your one single earring like usual, there a ribbon in your hair, I assume from Klee, your wearing an extra chain, oh! You also painted your nails and-“ As Venti started to look down on Kaeya’s hand Rosaria called out
“THIS THAT A WEDDING RING?!” Rosaria screamed as she grabs Kaeya’s hand to look closer, on his left ring finger was a brand new ring made with pristine gold moulded in an intricate design around a deep blue sapphire in the middle. It was elegant but sleek even with the delicate details and seem to have been reinforced to be stronger and for practical purposes. “Your not trying to commit? Are you?”
Kaeya jumped at the sudden touch, both Diluc and Venti were standing there wide eyed in complete shock, the three all realized the true intentions behind the silly game Kaeya planned
“Your getting married!?” Both Venti and Diluc sputtered out “Kaeya I swear to Ven- Barbatos! Wha-“
“Question 4! Haha” Kaeya interrupted, trying to regain his composure as Rosaria let go of his hand “What’s the symbolism behind my ring? And what does it represent?” Kaeya knew that the others were getting on edge, but he promised drinks after so prayed to the Stars that it would be enough
Venti looked at him dumbfounded “It’s on your left ring finger, associated with marriage??”
“I mean like the individual parts, it’s not like a regular diamond ring and everyone knows that it’s a wedding ring” Kaeya dead-pan, giving Venti a look for pointing out the the obvious like no shit dude-
“Sapphires are associated with intelligence or wisdom, loyalty, royalty, and prophecy.” Diluc stated “there are a symbol of power and strength, but can also be for kindness and wise judgment. On a ring, they are associated with commitment and fidelity”
“Wait, that reminds me of you! Does it represent you?” Venti asked.
“You be correct, my partner was the one to order the rings specially made and sapphire were for me. Although I’m not completely sure how closer the symbolism fits me, I do trust my partner’s judgement though” Kaeya explains, checking the ring and appreciate its beauty.
“I think it suits you perfectly!” Venti exclaimed “From what I seen, your the strong knight who perfected himself in his role, yet you show compassion to the teens and kids of Mond that look up to you. You’re loyal to Mondstadt and your extremely intelligent!”
Cut of guard from the sudden complement, Kaeya trieds to deflect “Oh? I didn’t know you see in such high regards, but you don’t have to lie to my fac-“ He was quickly shut down by Rosaria
“Just take the damn complement, half of he saying has facts behind it. We can go ask if the description fits according to the Grandmas of Mond, …Unless your too shy” Rosaria “that or I’ll tell the bard to start listing facts”
Kaeya glared at Rosaria for the ideas “ Alright, alright! I get it, we won’t have enough time to get to the end of the game if we did that, and I wouldn’t want to bother them if their currently asleep at their age, it be a big inconvenience” Kaeya deflects. Luckily, Rosaria didn’t push it
“Hmm..” Venti mutters “ Gold represents the other person doesn’t it?”
“You be correct, the symbolism behind that will help although some of the implications are more personal” Kaeya response coolly
It wasn’t a surprise when Diluc responded again, Kaeya remembered that Diluc once read an entire gemstone text book when Kaeya mentioned a fact of moonstone, though it was a long time ago. Kaeya mainly surprised Diluc remembered the niche topic
“Gold represents power, prestige and wealth, but those don’t apply to the context and so theirs something else… Gold is also associated with Geo, there’s that and…”
…Wait
…Geo? But there’s only two Geo users in Mondstadt- and Gold could be a nod to-
Diluc stares at his brother in shock, Kaeya seem to notice as the other two stare at the two
“Question 5. Who am I engaged to?”
Diluc’s heart didn’t just skip a beat. It just stoped

WHAT THE FUCK?! His brother was apparently getting engaged to- Oooohhh holy shit this was MESSY- OUT OF EVERYTHING THAT DILUC COULD HAVE BEEN OK WITH- HOW- When?! How long- wha- did anyone even know Kaeya was even dating?! How long has they been together- or was everyone just to dense to realize-
“FUCKING ALBEDO!?” Diluc screamed, probably far too loud as the tavern stare at the four if they weren’t watching the game earlier
He couldn’t believe it, his little brother was getting married- M A R R I E D! And he didn’t ever know Kaeya was even dating! It had to been before he came back from- what would Adeline’s think?! Elzer? They didn’t know right? Gods he was a horrible brother-
Kaeya stood up worried, what going on? Why is his brother- he couldn’t breathe-
“Diluc!? I’m here, I’m here! Is everything okay!? Did I make you cry!? Stars- I’m” Kaeya sputtered, Diluc could see him tear up trying to soothe him
He made his his brother cry by making him think he made Diluc cried- Gods this was so embarrassing and Diluc would be laughing at the stupidity if it was for the fact the sounded like a dying donkey breathing and how kaeya was shaking him, hitting his back. So he ended up with some cursed variation of sobbing laugh sound behind the counter.
“Barbatos I’m such mess but MY GOD KAEYA” Diluc said squeezing Kaeya in a tight hug “IM SO PROUD- BUT THEN I CRIED AND RUINED THE MOMENT- ITS WAS HAPPY TEARS I SWEAR BUTTHENYOUSTARTEDCRYINGANDIWASLIKEOHANDTHENIFREAKOUTAND-“
“LUC’ I CANT BREATHE-“
“…”
*Diluc lets go of kaeya*
“Archons, your getting engaged, did anyone know????” Diluc asked, “Adelinde will be so proud and excited, Elzer too! Everyone at Dawn Winery will be ecstatic”
Kaeya just smiled in return “I’m glad, you know. The reason I was telling you now is because I plan to invite them and was hoping that you could be my best man…” Diluc froze “Ah- you don’t have too of course! I just thought that it would be nice and since you could help with- but I know it’s-“
“I loved too, my brother getting married, I would never skip this”
Oh
“…thank you.” Kaeya said quietly, he could feel weights on his shoulders lighten as he hear Diluc’s firm acceptance
The rest of that night was spent with wine and many questions from the other patrons that came up after the game had concluded. When the constant barrage of questions slow down as people left, much to Kaeya relief as he didn’t know how long until he would keep up his general facade, the three customers celebrating by drinking the night away, some more so then others
“Albedo was absolutely foul on telling you like that! I wish I could have seen the look on your face had I had a kamera!” Venti giggled, it was kinda funny to know that Kaeya didn’t confess but rather albedo fumble so hard that anyone would have been surprised and flustered.
“That’s not even the worst part” Kaeya sighed, slightly regretting taking Venti and Rosaria’s offer to play truth or dare and other games that made Kaeya confess many personal stories, but Kaeya enjoys it nonetheless
“I don’t think it can get worse than that Kaeya” Diluc said, keeping his composure as much as he could after embarrassing himself and Kaeya earlier, he just prayed that the patrons would be too drunk to remember. Hopefully someone will do something else so he could bury that memory deep into the abyss.
“I remember once Albedo left his sketch book in Klee’s room and I didn’t know at the time but it was literally our wedding ring Albedo sketch out with our initials! It was so obvious too! There were options like K.K or K.A and A.A and A.K!” Kaeya yelled out “Anyone would have guessed it meant Kaeya Alberich or Kaeya Kreideprinz and Albedo Alberich or Albedo Kreideprinz but noooo- I thought Klee had a crush on someone! I even asked her and she played along! Saying that she was pairing up her dolls!” Kaeya felt his face get hot as he recalled the day.
Rosaria sipped her drink as she pats her friend on the head “here I thought that the oh so smart and flirty cavalry captain wouldn’t loses his horse like this” a small smile crept up her face
“Ughhhh” Kaeya left a undignified groan as he covered his face from embarrassment
The others giggled as Venti pondered before speaking “Now that I’m thinking about it, I heard that according to the traveller, Albedo has been going around and searching for some inspiration from the old Favonius year books, specifically one where Kaeya had been wearing some… different clothing” Suggesting something Kaeya wasn’t aware of, it pique his interest
Diluc suddenly spoke out “Is this referencing the time Kaeya volunteered and Jean casted him to wear a gown for an event because nobody could fit in the dress?? The man who designed it was so surprised by Kaeya being in the dress,”
Diluc recalled the time, he remembered how none of the girls could fit the description of the man ideal for the role so Kaeya, with some persuasion volunteered to perform in the dress. He remembered how Kaeya even mentioned how he enjoyed the performance and how he was happy to get to wear it
“Wha- guys!” Kaeya squaked, his face turning even redder under his tanned complexion
“Wait… are you suggesting Albedo making a wedding dress-“ Rosaria spits out her drink as she exclaims the sudden implications
“A WHAT-“
The night was lively indeed, that’s all I’ll say as the narrator of this story.
