Work Text:

Belphie walked into your room, being sure to knock first. He knew you were still sleeping, but there was a very important day ahead of you. It’s your first time alone with Belphie without any of the brothers being home and interfering. Each of them had already gotten their day with you, and now it was finally his turn. Sometimes you’d get to see him alone, yes, but all of his brothers were out of the dormitory for the day, making it the perfect time for him to get his time with you.

He walked up to the side of your bed, and yawned. Seeing you sleeping was making him sleepy too, but he wanted to enjoy as much of the day with you as he could. “Hey…hey sweetie, normally I wouldn’t say this…but you gotta wake up.” He touched your shoulder lightly, and smiled wide as you grumbled into your pillow.

With the way you were curled up in a ball, stuffie wrapped in your grasp, he knew you were deep in little space. It made him smile even more, and he sat down on the bed to trail his fingertips along your hand. “We have a big day, you gotta get up.” He spoke, though it was almost a whisper. If you didn’t get up, he wouldn’t protest much but he didn’t have to worry about that as you slowly opened your eyes.

“Dada?” You said, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. A pout was on your face, but when you saw his adoring smile you couldn’t keep that expression for long. “What doing, daddy?” You sat up, before leaping at him to cling to him in a koala-like hug.

He chuckled, and rubbed your back. “Let’s get your best jammies on and I’ll show you what we’re doing.” He lifted you up, easily carrying you to the closet to pick out your outfit. He had picked it a long time ago, thinking it was adorable. Now seemed like the perfect time to wear it, given it was his day with you. It had spots on it like a cow, in a near pastel-like purple. It was way too big for you, but that only made it cuter when you wore it.

Belphie helped you get dressed, and patted your head when you were all done. You giggled, giving him a cute twirl…though had he not caught you, you would have fallen to the ground as you stumbled.

“Hm…we can’t have a little sweetie tripping over themself the whole way there, guess I’ll have to carry you.” He smiled, and there was a teasing tone to his voice. It was said affectionately, and he swept you off your feet, carrying you over his shoulder. He patted your back, and held you with a chuckle as he headed towards his destination.

You couldn’t stop giggling, patting his back from your position over his shoulder, “Daddy! Daddy silly! Put down!” He did stop when you said that, and set you down, kneeling to be eye level with you.

He hummed, before smirking and picking you up once more, this time with your legs wrapped around his middle section and arms around his shoulders. “No, no. You’re far too little to be walking this far. You like when I carry you, anyway.” He rubbed your back as he spoke, and you both knew you’d lost this “argument.” It made you pout, but you didn’t offer any other protests.

You reached the room where you’d often catch Belphie sleeping in. It was the stargazing room, and there was already a wide spread of stuffies, pillows, and blankets splayed out. Belphie set you down, looking down at you with a smile before ungracefully plopping himself down next to you. He laid on his back, and you cuddled into his side. You both let out a content sigh, and he spoke up after several moments of enjoying the contact.

“Can you guess why we’re here? We could go anywhere in the devildom, so try and guess why I brought you here.” He looked at you, waiting for your answer as he leaned over to give the top of your head a kiss. While he let you think, he rubbed your arm up and down, and you melted into the touch.

“Cause…cause daddy’s favorite place?” You guessed, looking at him with determination as you hoped you were right. From your position of cuddling into his side, you sat up slightly to look at his face only to get distracted. You pinched his cheeks softly, and ran your hands all over his face. It was somehow the most important thing for you in the moment, as you felt all the textures on his face. His hair, his lips, his eyelids, his cheeks, everything felt different.

Belphie laughed loudly, knowing you were hyperfocused on the act. He laid there, and let you run your fingers along his face and cup his cheeks in your hands. Suddenly, he snapped his teeth towards you, lightly and playfully biting your thumb. His hands shot up to hold yours, releasing your thumb from his grip and stuck his tongue out at you when he had your hands secured.

“No sweetie, I do love this place…but my favorite place is beside you. Our special baby…” He sighed, his eyes softening, and he let go of one of your hands, maneuvering the other to point at the glass between the room and the cold outdoors. “I brought you here because I’m gonna tell you what the stars are called. Did you know all the stars have different names?”

You gasped, and shook your head enthusiastically, looking at him excitedly. “What names?” You searched through the mirage of the stars above the room and tried to guess what their names could be. “Daddy! What their names?” You looked at him, poking his cheeks with a wide smile before he smiled back and spoke.

“Well, their names are whatever you want them to be. You’re in charge here, so name the stars.” His eyes softened, as he spoke in a soft tone with a look of adoration covering his cheeks. He ran his thumb along your cheek, and helped you lay back down with your head on his shoulder. He put his arm under your neck, and helped you get adjusted to lay comfortably beside him.

“Really daddy?! I get to name stars?” If you could have stars in your eyes, you would have. It perfectly reflected the sight above you as you started rattling off random names, most of which were the names of your favorite stuffies. But there were just so many stars, there were more you didn’t name…though that didn’t stop you from trying.

“I has favorite stars!” You giggled, and looked over for the first time since you’d started naming the stars. Belphie was lying there, looking directly at you. He looked shocked for just a second, before smiling and looking away, knowing he’d gotten caught. He nodded, prompting you to say the names. “That one’s bossy daddy, then silly daddy, daddy snakes, papa Sa, daddy Momo, daddy Be, and that one’s daddy moo-moo!” You said, proud of your names.

Belphie tried to contain his laughter, but it was impossible as tears welled up in his eyes. “When did you come up with all those nicknames?” He had to wipe his tears, but quieted down when he saw you pouting. He ran his thumb along your cheek, and pulled you back down when you tried to get up. “No, it’s okay. I’m not laughing cause the names are dumb, I’m laughing because they’re perfect. You better let them know the wonderful names you’ve given these stars.”

He patted your head, and let out a couple stray chuckles as he tried to calm himself down. “You’re so cute, sweetie. The thing is, you don’t even realize how special and important you are to us. Never…and I mean never, change.” He smiled wide, and cupped your cheek in his hand. “You’re our world.”

All you could do was smile and giggle as you cuddled closer to him and patted his head as he had just done to you. “You all my world too. My daddies and papa. Bestest demons ever.”

You shared a smile, and slowly drifted off into a peaceful sleep. Neither were concerned with anything, and knew the other would be right there with them when they woke up.
