Give me wings so I can soar

Summary:

Izuku is abused and abandoned by his POS mother, leading him to be adopted by Aizawa and Yamada, entering the Support Course of UA in his quest to become a hero...his way. Chaos ensues when soulmate dynamics enter the equation.

Chapter Text

Why? Just why did society have to be this way? Why did his childhood friend have to be this way? All because he didn’t have a quirk, things went from great to pure hell. His father had abandoned him and his mother when he was diagnosed quirkless. His mother had abandoned him just a few days ago, claiming she couldn’t deal with having a quirkless kid costing her more money than what she made. His best friend, Katsuki Bakugou, had turned on him the moment he was diagnosed quirkless, calling him useless, a waste of space, and even recently telling him to take a swan dive off a roof and pray for a quirk in his next life.

It wasn’t his fault, none of it was his fault, but yet he was made to pay for it despite that. The government, in order to reduce the quirkless population, made it nearly impossible to live, raising taxes on families that had quirkless people, raising medical costs, pushing hospitals to not accept quirkless patients claiming it was a waste of resources, even making it impossible for them to shop. Grocery stores, clothing stores, hospitals, veterinary clinics, martial arts dojos, even some restaurants…none of them allowed quirkless people to even enter their doors. Even libraries limited who was allowed to enter. Most quirkless families left Japan, mostly because they couldn’t live how others did, all because of a lack of a quirk.

Medical staff didn’t ever treat quirkless patients, not even during emergencies, claiming it was a waste of time and resources, that those people would just die anyways. The government and society had become corrupt. Even heroes were becoming corrupt, only half of the heroes out there were actually in it for the right reasons. All Might, Japan’s number one hero, was quirkist and very vocal about it, claiming that quirkless people were a dying breed and they needed to hurry up and die. Endeavor, the number two hero, he never even bothered to talk about it. He simply…did nothing. When asked to help a quirkless family in the past who were trapped in a burning building, he stood there and watched the house burn, the screams of the trapped people inside eventually going silent. He wasn’t even reprimanded for doing nothing to help them.

There wasn’t anything left for him here, nothing to live for, his hopes and dreams crushed by those around him. The few good heroes out there, they likely would never find him in time to stop him. He slowly leaves the alleyway he had called home for the last couple days and heads to the rooftop of a 12 story building across from him. The building was vacant, doors left unlocked, the building only occupied by the local stray cats and rodents. The rooftop was flat, only a ½ foot high ledge, easy enough to step over. The one thing he didn’t see was the hero perched on the adjacent rooftop watching him, not even when they moved in to intercept. He moves to step off the building, noticing a scarf of sorts wrap around him, pulling him back away from the edge.

“Just let me die. I have nothing left to live for anyways. You’re just prolonging the inevitable.” He groans when the weapon pulls him further away from the edge, meeting a warm, firm chest, a gentle hand settling into his curls and holding him in a gentle embrace.

“You have everything to live for, kid. Don’t give up on your dream just because people think it’s out of your reach. It’s only truly unattainable if you give up trying.”

“They…they all gave up on me. Kacchan, he turned on me the moment I was diagnosed, my dad left around the same time, and my mother abandoned me a few days ago. Even All Might…he told me to be realistic, that a quirkless person could never be a hero, that they would be a liability. I had gotten attacked by a sludge villain. All Might didn’t even bother to contact medical personnel, not that they would help anyway. They refuse to treat quirkless people, claiming it’s a waste of resources and time. I’m better off dead. At least then, nobody has to deal with me anymore.”

“Kid, look at me. Come on, turn around and look at me.”

Izuku slowly turns around, noticing the hero had squatted and was propped on one knee. He recognized the hero, despite their Underground status.

“Now, do you recognize me?” Aizawa looks at the child before him, expression soft and gentle.

“Yes. You’re the underground Pro Hero, Eraserhead, quirk Erasure. You can nullify emitter quirks and make the person essentially quirkless, but it doesn’t work on mutation types.”

“Correct, but here’s the thing, kid, I FIGHT QUIRKLESS, my quirk makes others quirkless. I rely on martial arts and my support item most of the time during hero work. My quirk is non-combative.”

“But…you HAVE A QUIRK, despite it making others quirkless, you still have one. I have NOTHING. I’d be okay with even something dumb…like an eye color changing quirk or something, just to have SOMETHING, but I have nothing…nothing at all. Martial Arts dojos won’t even allow me to enter the building, claiming quirkless people are nothing but weaklings and a liability. I’ve had to learn by watching online videos. Nobody wants to help me…nobody.”

“That’s where you’re wrong, kid. I want to help you. Ya know, you can be a hero, despite being quirkless. I’ll take you home with me and my husband. We’ll help train you and we’ll ensure you have the support items you need for anything in the future. We’ll help you get ready for UA. Here’s an idea, how good are you at creating things?”

“Pretty good, actually. I found an old laptop at the dump and turned it into a high end, majorly encrypted database using spare parts from other items in the dump. Pretty sure I could make my own support items if needed.”

“Perfect. Don’t aim for the hero course.” Aizawa puts a finger on Izuku’s mouth when the boy starts to protest. “Hear me out. Aim for the Support Course. Once in, get busy making a bunch of items you can use during the Sports Festival. Use the Festival to gain access to the Hero Course. The entrance exam is biased, aiming to showcase those with super flashy quirks. By going the route of the Support Course, you can bypass the exam and find an easier way in. The Support Course exam is tricky, but if you can make some good items, you should be able to impress Nezu and Power Loader enough to get in. Sign up for Gen-Ed as a backup plan though, just in case it falls through.”

“Well, I have almost two years to get ready then I suppose…if I don’t attempt to jump again.”

“Don’t you dare. You know, sometimes the best revenge is continuing to live out of SPITE. Let’s prove them all wrong, shall we?” Aizawa offers the boy his hand. “Oh and so you don’t keep calling me Eraserhead, the name is Aizawa Shouta. You?”

Izuku glances at the edge, then back at Eraser…no…Aizawa, noticing the offered hand. His mind debates what he should do before he takes the man’s hand. “Midoriya Izuku. I don’t want to keep my last name though, not since both of my parents abandoned me and left. I don’t want to be associated with them anymore.”

“That’s not a problem, Izuku. Now, let’s go home. It’s late and I’m sure you’re hungry.” Aizawa stands back up, turning on his transmitter. “Hey, Eraserhead here, I have a delicate situation to handle, so I'm gonna sign off early tonight to handle it.”

The radio crackles. “ Confirmed, Eraserhead. Have a good night and keep us informed of the situation when able.”

“Will do.” He turns off the transmitter, leading Izuku off the roof safely, leading the boy home with him. The living room light was still on, Hizashi busy doing some paperwork.

Hizashi glances up, hearing the door open, raising an eye when Shouta enters with a green haired child in tow. “Sho, what’s going on? You’re back early. Who’s this?”

Izuku eyes up the blonde man, tilting his head with a skeptical look. “Present Mic? Your hair looks so different when it’s down.”

Hizashi blinks a couple times, giving Shouta a curious look. “This kid knows us? How?”

Shouta just shrugs. “Either way, we have a kid to care for now. I don’t trust the foster system, nor do I trust the assholes at the HPSC. I’m taking this kid under my own care. You said you wanted a kid, well…tada.”

“Well, ya, I did say that, but I wasn’t expecting a teenager. It’s okay though, it gives us practice for if or when we find a younger child that needs us.” Hizashi moves a bit closer, offering his own hand to Izuku. “Yamada Hizashi, Shouta’s partner…in more ways than one.”

Izuku blushes slightly, knowing what the blonde man meant. “Uhh, are you sure you want me then? I don’t want to cause issues between a married couple if this isn’t something you’re both okay with.”

“Oh, baby, it’s fine, really. I didn’t mean that having a teenager was a bad thing, it was just...unexpected. It will be good practice though. You have nothing to worry about.” He turns his attention to Shouta. “Umm, you will need to fill me in on everything though.” He notices Izuku go pale, suspecting something was definitely wrong here. “Okay, from that reaction on him, who do we have to track down and blast out their eardrums?”

“His mother for one, unless she’s completely left the country, his ex best-friend, oh yes…and his piece of shit school. Oop, almost forgot one, we get to go hunting…for HIM.”

“Oh, Mr Loudmouth, Mr. I’m better than everyone, that HIM?”

“Yes, THAT him… and he’s gonna know we’re coming for him, but not when. We’ll have him pissing himself before we ever arrive. We’ll sic Nezu on the school while we hunt the OAF.”

“Mr I’m better than everyone? Sounds like you’re talking about my ex best friend rather than the dumbass number one who abandoned me on a rooftop after being attacked by a sludge villain without calling for medics.”

Hizashi’s eye started to twitch, never a good sign. “Yep, I’m gonna yank out what’s left of that man’s organs, not that it’s much anyway. I can claim temporary insanity.”

“Uhh, babe, that doesn’t work for heroes. You’d lose your hero license, teaching license, foster license, your radio station, and be sentenced to a minimum 10 years in jail. It’s not worth the hassle, no matter how enticing seeing you covered in blood might be.”

The two grownups raise an eye with a WTF expression when Izuku makes a comment. “Can always throw his fat ass in a volcano. No evidence.”

“He’s as sadistic as you, Sho. Are you sure he’s not your biological kid?” He shakes his head when Shouta and Izuku give him matching deadpan expressions. “Case in point.” Hizashi shakes his head while getting up, hearing the kid’s stomach growling. “I’ll go fix you something to eat, kiddo. Shou, you might want to contact Nezu and Tsukauchi and get the fostering legalized. Don’t need someone taking him away because of technicalities.”

“Good idea.” Shouta grabs out his phone, making a couple quick phone calls while Hizashi gets busy in the kitchen.

Not knowing what to make of any of this, Izuku starts wandering around the apartment, checking things out. Hearing the ongoing conversation of Shouta on the phone with whoever it was, gave him some relief, the clanging of pots and pans in the kitchen continuing as well. He turns and glances down, spotting two cats looking at him with wide-eyed curiosity. He jumps when a voice sounds about behind him. “The black one is Bastard and the orange one is Peaches. Better watch out for Bastard. He likes to trip people.” Izuku turns and notices Shouta behind him.

“Don’t worry, kid. I made the calls but Tsukauchi would like to meet you in person and ask you a few questions. He’ll be by sometime in the morning. We’ll be right here with you, so don’t even think that you’ll be alone with him, you won’t.”

“Tsukauchi? You mean the guy with the lie detector quirk that works with the Mustafu Police Department?” Izuku looks at the slightly startled expression on Shouta’s face.

“Yes, that’s him, why?”

“No reason. He’s a good guy.” Izuku looks down as the two cats start rubbing against his legs. “Pretty kitties.” He sniffs the air, smelling the food cooking in the kitchen, his stomach growling loud enough to scare the cats who run off in a panic. “Scaredy cats.”

Shouta tries to hide an amused expression, failing miserably, narrowing his eyes when he hears the familiar click of a camera. “You better not show that to ANYONE, Zashi…”

“Show what? Oh the picture that just got sent to Nezu, Tsukauchi, and all our fellow teachers at UA? No idea what you mean, love.” Hizashi cackles as he turns to plate the food for Izuku. “Food is ready, kiddo, come eat.”

Izuku glances warily at the phone in the man’s hand, the phone that had just taken a picture. “Umm, the picture you just took, it didn’t have me in it, did it?”

Hizashi shakes his head. “Nah, kiddo. I normally only take pictures of those who are okay with it, or of Shouta here. Our fellow workers have been wanting a picture of him smiling for ages. He’s normally so stoic.”

Izuku nods, climbing into the seat and looking at the food. “This…this is all for me?” He gawks at the amount, a larger amount than he normally sees in a week. “It’s a lot.”

“Just eat what you can. You don’t have to eat it all and make yourself sick. I can always put it away for later.” Hizashi gets busy cleaning the dishes while Izuku debates on where to start. He subtly glances back, seeing Izuku picking at it as though unsure what to do with it. It hurt to see this child be this way, realizing there must have been abuse in some form.

“We’ll be in the other room for a moment, don’t force yourself, ok, Little Listener? Take your time, I know it’s new.” Hizashi said, fighting the urge to put a hand on the boy’s head. He turned to leave with Shouta, seeing the kittens purring around the boy to comfort him as he slowly ate. “Looks like Bastard sees the boy as his kitten, that’s a first.” He chuckles, before looking serious. “With that reaction to the photo, babe, I have a feeling he’ll not be comfortable if Tsukauchi needs to photograph evidence. What should we do?”

“We’ll take one step at a time. He doesn’t seem overly against physical contact, but we don’t want to push it too far. We don’t know what he’s been through, and we don’t want him to be uncomfortable with us. He’s clearly been abused, that much is obvious. The looks he gave the food, I’ve seen those looks before, even experienced it myself. That hesitation…he’s been starved by those who were meant to care for him.”

“S-shouta?” Izuku called, alerting the two. “I-I forgot to ask, are there eggs in here? My stomach is starting to hurt.” Izuku held his stomach a little tighter as the cramping got a little worse, suddenly holding his mouth as it began to water. Shouta showed up by his side with a bucket, while Hizashi took the food away quickly.

Shouta gently rubbed his back as Izuku purged, feeling guilty at the situation. “Don’t be sorry, it’s our fault for not asking if you had allergies. Here, once you have a moment, take some Benadryl and anti-nausea medicine. The Benadryl will make you sleepy, but I’d rather you sleep than have a serious reaction.”

“Ya, I can’t stomach eggs, they make me sick. Also, I can't use anything with aloe as I break into a rash with it.” Izuku looks down. “I should have said something. I’m sorry.”

Bastard jumped onto Izuku’s lap, kneading his legs as he gave a content purr. “I agree with Bastard, don’t be sorry. I know you’ll need to adjust from that mindset, but nothing is your fault. Alright? We’ll get you some beef broth once you wake up.”

“Not meaning to be choosey, but can it be chicken broth instead? I like chicken.”

“Of course you can have chicken broth, little listener. Anything you want, just ask. We’re planning to keep you here with us anyway, so we’ll need to know everything. Your likes, dislikes, taste preferences. Heck, if you decide one day you want to wear a skirt and high heels, I’ll take you to the store to buy them.”

“J-just the skirt, please…”

“Absolutely. Pleats, no pleats? Ankle length? Knee length? Any particular color? Just let me know.”

“Anything besides plaid.”

Hizashi and Shouta both gag at the idea of plaid. “No plaid in this household, kid. We don’t like it. Last time plaid came in here, we used it to make a torch.”

“Agreed. I don’t like plaid. The colors are weird and the texture of the material is too itchy.” Izuku grins slightly, already starting to really like the two heroes. “Will I even be allowed inside the mall though? Most places don’t allow quirkless people to even enter their doors.”

Shouta and Hizashi share a look before turning back to Izuku. “Kid, if they don’t allow you entrance, they’ll be out of business within a week. Our boss has been itching to take down some discriminatory places.”

Izuku’s stunned expression suddenly turns slightly sadistic. “He’s welcome to burn down Aldera Middle School.”

“He just did.” Hizashi cackled, showing the boy the video of the school…exploding. “He’s very proficient at making an impact, and getting away with it.”

Izuku snickers slightly. “Knowing them, they’ll blame it on me. They always blame me for everything, even when I’m not there, all because of my quirkless status.”

“What are they gonna do? Claim that you got to their gas line to blow it up? Izu, baby, they can try, but without proof, Nezu would give them 50 more ways to fear death. And if not, Shouta and I have a few tricks that can emphasize the point.”

“The principal…he has a quirk that he can create situations, false ones mostly. He can make it seem like he saw me in the act of sabotaging the school.”

Shouta hummed. “Can he create these scenarios into a video feed? If so, Starly can easily debunk it.”

“Yes he can. He’s done it before, creating fake videos showing me starting problems in class.” Izuku said, looking down at Bastard. “He even has it where I instigate Kacch-Katsuki into using his quirk on me.”

Hizashi growls slightly, causing the cats to run off in fright. “Nope, hell no, he’s not gonna escape MY wrath. Where does that guy live? Any ideas?”

“I-If you mean Katsuki, he lives in the urban district north of Mustafu. Katsuki Bakugou, quirk explosion, fiery attitude and loves to pick fights.”

“Oh we’ll get him too, but I meant that Principal of yours. Someone needs to pay him a little visit.”

“Oh, he lives two houses down from the middle school, a big gaudy purple house that looks rat infested.” Izuku shudders. “He…he took me there a couple times to… punish me for my behavior in class.”

If Izuku hadn’t seen them livid, it was nothing compared to the demons summoned behind their shadows. “W-what kind of punishment do you mean?”

“Umm, I think it would be better to wait till your Detective friend shows up before I say… that .”

Hizashi wanted to press, but Shouto tapped his shoulder to surrender, for now. “I understand, baby, but how about I ask Nezu to send his rat-spies there? You said it’s already rat-infested, so he’ll not know the difference if some are spying on him.”

Izuku nods, jumping when he hears the knock at the door. “Umm, I think he’s early.”

Shouta quickly answers the door, ushering in a man wearing a hat and long trench coat, followed by Nezu who had hitched a ride with him, a spine-chilling grin on the Stoat’s face. “Wasn’t expecting you this early, Nezu. I can’t say I blame you for wanting to get this handled swiftly though.”

Izuku glances between Tsukauchi and Nezu, then glances at Hizashi who was looking ready to commit murder. “Umm, ya, I guess we need to continue, right?”

Detective Tsukauchi could see some bruising that he was hiding behind the sleeves. “Once everything is written and recorded, I may need to photograph evidence if you have any injuries. Are you comfortable with that?”

Izuku flinches, having suspected that. “If it means getting those people to be held responsible for their actions, then ya, I’ll be okay with that. However, if it involves some touching, I’d rather you not unless absolutely necessary.”

“Okay, Izu, now…where were we?” Hizashi watches as Tsukauchi pulls out a recorder and clicks to record.

“This is Tsukauchi Naomasa recording about a potential abuse case on May 3rd, xxxx. Witness is Izuku, but didn't catch the last name. Now, Izuku, did you want to explain to us in detail your treatment at the former Aldera Middle School?”

“Last name is Midoriya. Umm, I was constantly bullied by my classmates, my teachers did nothing to stop them. Some of the teachers actually encouraged them to use their quirks on me. Our school Principal, Lee Shu, has a quirk that can create video situations that never occurred, using them to punish whoever he wants. He then takes the student in question to his own home which is two houses away from the school to continue their punishment.”

Tsukauchi’s right eye twitches, letting him know that it was true and traumatic.

Hizashi growls. “Now, what punishments did he use on you?”

Izuku shook a bit, before standing up and showing his back. “O-one of them is scarring with knives or branding, the least of the worst punishments…” Izuku gulps slightly. “He’s…very sick. He…sexually assaulted me several times as well. He never provided medical treatment or anything, simply leaving me there in hopes I would bleed out and die.”

“Truth.” Naomasa growls, shaking his head. “How many times did he sexually assault you?”

“Over the course of two years, roughly…30 times, I think. I kinda lost track. Some, I guess I dissociated when it happened.”

Tsukauchi noted the hand print bruises on Izuku’s sides. “May I? I just need to gauge it by my hand size.”

Izuku flinches slightly but lifts the shirt, keeping an eye on what the man was doing. He noticed how unusually quiet Nezu was until he looked over and saw the vengeful gleam in Nezu’s eyes.

“Izuku, do you have a hobby? Something you like to do?” Nezu asked, hoping this will slightly distract the young man. “What do you do to find solace?”

“I uhh, I enjoy doing quirk analysis, but people always tell me it’s creepy and stalkerish and should be left to people who aren’t underdeveloped like me.”

“And quirk analyst doctors aren’t? I believe they are afraid you can easily find their weakness, but that isn’t bad. In fact, Izuku, I encourage such vulnerable information. One might not know they need it if their quirk goes beyond their control. That is important, for their safety and the people who live here.” Nezu said calmly, giving encouragement. “I have met many who succumbed to their quirks, because they failed to understand their body’s true limit. As for the underdeveloped comment, that is uncalled for, from what I see, Izuku, you are nothing but brilliant. I think you and my Analyst that works under me would get along great. She is quirkless too, but she has a knack for it too.”

Izuku nodded before flinching a bit when Tsukauchi put a little pressure on the bruise, giving him a slight panic attack. “N-no more, stop please. H-however,” He mused when Tsukauchi removed his hand. “I saw your right eye twitch when I mentioned Mr. Lee’s punishment. Doesn’t your left eye twitch if you detect lies? I was telling the truth, so I’m guessing your right eye does the opposite, especially on high trauma responses. Am I wrong?”

“Nah, it’s just a response to the torment you went through. I doubt many of us in this room would have been able to endure what you have. We will ensure that… individual …gets what is coming to him.”

“I may already have my rats chewing behind his bedpost walls, he’s not gonna sleep anytime soon.”

Once everything was recorded and photographed, Tsukauchi sighed and looked at Nezu. “Nezu, I think Izuku would need to get checked by Recovery Girl. With the previous assaults, I want to make sure he hasn’t contracted anything. With the hospitals as they are, RG is the only one I trust.”

“Not just that, unfortunately. Most hospitals won’t accept quirkless patients, considering it a waste of time and resources. Luckily, Recovery Girl is on our side and we have a full hospital type infirmary for any serious mishaps. We might have to hire a couple other people though, after thoroughly vetting them.”

Izuku was pretty quiet, obviously done with everything. “I-I’m done…at least for today.”

Shouta leaned over, making eye contact with Izuku. “I know it was a lot, and we can hold off until you are ready, then we are done, ok?” He then noticed that he was fighting drowsiness. “I guess the Benadryl is kicking in…” He looks at Nezu. “Can RG come here when he’s ready? I don’t think he’ll be awake or alert for a few hours.”

“Of course, we’ll notify Chiyo when it’s time. Until then, how about we finalize the fostering paperwork so this arrangement is legal, yes?”

During the paperwork, they had Izuku sleep in their room with their cats while they signed the fostering papers. They’ll have Izuku sign when he wakes up. In the meantime, they were wishing murder on that bastard principal. That also left questions. If he did that to Izuku, who else has he targeted and assaulted?

“Let me know if anything comes up or if Izuku wants to talk to me.” Tsukauchi replied, putting on his hat. “I know you’ve seen these situations before as an Underground Hero, so I won’t go into a monologue on how to treat the boy.”

Shouta nods. “I’ll do that. Situations like this are quite delicate and need a very cautious approach.”

As Tsukauchi leaves, Nezu stays behind, busy typing away on Shouta’s laptop, looking up various information. Shouta peeks over at what Nezu was doing, raising an eye. “So, every single teacher and staff member in the Aldera district has extensive police records including abuse, neglect, and sexual assault? How the hell are they still teachers?”

“It would seem all this information was covered up. These files were locked so nobody could see them. It would seem the Aldera Principal controls the Primary, Middle, and High Schools in the Aldera District. He literally has access to 15,000 students of various ages. Seventy five of those students have been marked as either quirkless or villainous.”

“So basically, 75 potential victims of this sick man. Even if it was just Izuku being tortured by him, we know of someone who can scan memories and broadcast them for people to see. If it’s more than just him, he’ll never be an educator ever again. I’m sure the inmates at Tartarus would love to get their hands on him.”

“Indeed. Searches so far have revealed four of the ‘villainous’ kids as having been hospitalized for sexual assault. If we can prove it was that man, then checkmate.” Nezu downloads the information to a flash drive and closes the laptop. “Well, I will continue this at home. Try to get some rest today, pup.”

Shouta groans and nods, watching as Nezu leaves, shaking his head. “When I said I wanted to keep this kid, I was not expecting all of this.”

“You brought this on yourself, Shou, but I can’t say I blame you. He’s such a sweet kid. Now,” Hizashi said, looking at his room in longing. “I would go into my sweet bed, but it looks like we have the couch tonight.”

“Zashi, quit your whining, it’s a sofa bed. It folds out into a full sized bed. Just move the darn table.”

“Oh, right, forgot we got one of those. My bad.” They move the coffee table, pulling out the sofa bed and throwing a few extra pillows on it from the hallway closet. “Something tells me he’ll be cuddled up with us before too long. Maybe we should turn on the radio to the sounds of nature channel. That should be soothing, right?”

“Ya, that would be a great idea. I think you might be right, but it’ll be at least a couple hours. Since we got no sleep last night, let’s try to get a little rest now.” He pouts when the cats don’t show up, knowing they were cuddling with the kid. “He stole our cats and our hearts, Zashi. We’re doomed.”

“You brought this on yourself, you sentimental sap.” Hizashi squeals when he gets grabbed and dragged onto the sofa bed, being turned into an adult size cuddle pillow. He tries to grab his phone.

“Touch that phone and no sex for a week.”

Hizashi pouts, hating being denied like that. “Fine, you win…this time.” They drift off to sleep, unaware of when Izuku wakes up and cuddles between the two of them on the sofa bed, the cats joining in the cuddle pile. A small smile drifts onto Shouta’s face when he finally notices.

“Rest well, bunny.” He whispered, before trying not to show emotion when Izuku sleepily grabbed his arm to wrap over him. “We’ll always be here for you.”
