Dazai hoped nothing would happen. With a slight feeling of fear he grabbed the potion and sat down. He felt drowsy after a few seconds and he fell to sleep.

Dazai becomes victim to a new potion that could let his friends (and teacher) into his mind! how does he make sure nobody finds out about his mission? or any other stuff he doesn't want found out? He can't. can he.

also the relationship tag with dazai and snape is platonic!!! Dadsnape! also only slight blazai :)

Notes:

Heyyy! so excited to participate in the fic swap! I loved yours, and heres mine so far! The mindscape was inspired by both Gravity Falls and The Owl House so yeah.

Chapter Text

Professor Snape walked into the potion room and began to set everything up. Once everything was in place he turned around to look at all of the students.

“Today we will be making a potion that forces whoever drinks it to enter the mind of another person. It is very easy to mess up this potion. One mistake could lead to multiple bad outcomes. So, I suggest you listen carefully,”

He said as he wrote the potion name onto the board and the ingredients needed.

Dazai's brows scrunched up. This could be bad if they decided to use him as an example of the magic. Last night stupid Mori had sent him a letter saying he needed to learn to manage/take control of his ability. (my au) Basically he was training really hard and now for some reason he cant activate his ability. so magic could work on him. it was bad. He cant have people knowing about the mission. or his more...depressing memories.

The other students took notes on the potion while Snape gave a demonstration. Snape looked around the classroom looking for someone to use the potion on.

“I think it’s only fair that we use an example to test this out.”

Snape said. Snape’s eyes slowly landed on Dazai.

“Mr. Dazai.”

Professor Snape said as he stared at Dazai from across the room. Everyone's eyes were now focused on Dazai just as Professor Snape had hoped. Dazai seemed to tense a little as he looked up to meet the professors gaze.

"Oh, uh me? Wouldn't the magic make me sick because of my high sensitivity?"

Sure it could make Mr.Dazai a little sick, but this could truly help Severus into finding out more about the boy. He needed to help him. So even if this could hurt the boy, he can bring him into the informory.

"It will only make you slightly sick," Professor Snape answered back.

He continued staring at Dazai. He knew the boy was hesitant but it was the most effective way to test the potion.

Dazai knew he couldn't do anything about it. he had to hope no one would find anything he didn't want to show.

Seeing that Dazai wouldn't argue he spoke up again.

"Come over here, Dazai, and take a seat at the front table."

He said before he went back to preparing the potion.

Dazai hesitantly did as told. Snape explained that once Dazai drank the potion that 6 random people in the room would be transported inside of his mind. Dazai would pass out while the others were inside of it. Usually the bruer of the potion would be put in the mind as one of the 6.

Once Dazai had sat down Professor Snape finished preparing the potion. Once he was finished he handed the potion over to Dazai.

“Drink this and then sit down and the effects will begin,” He instructed.

Dazai hoped nothing would happen. With a slight feeling of fear he grabbed the potion and sat down. He felt drowsy after a few seconds and he fell to sleep.

Once Professor Snape saw Dazai fall unconscious he looked over to the class.

"Now the potion will select 6 random people to enter his mind. I'll be one of those six and whoever else gets picked will have to follow me once it starts."

With that he took a step closer to Dazai and the class waited to see who else would be picked to enter his mind.

And with that Snape, Draco, Pansy, Blaise, Ron, and Hermione disappeared.

Professor Snape's eyes snapped open and the first thing he noticed was darkness. He was standing on a sidewalk, surrounded by huge skyscrapers. He seemed to be in a city with some sort of ocean in the distance. As he glanced around he saw that it was Blaise and Ron close next to him. They were looking around just as amused as him.

So this was Dazai's Mindscape? about 30 feet in all directions the ground broke off into nothingness. an ocean of darkness. and in front of them was 3 black skyscrapers.

Professor Snape looked around, taking in the place they had appeared in. His eyes scanned their surroundings until a familiar voice spoke up from behind them.

"Well...this is something."

Professor Snape turned around to see Blaise and Ron staring at the skyscrapers. Professor Snape looked at Draco, who looked just as confused as the rest of them, and finally Hermione, who looked slightly more concerned than confused.

"It's so..gloomy?" Ron sain in confusion and slight concern.

"Yes, well, I suppose this is Dazai's mind," Professor Snape's replied as he continued looking around at the dark surroundings.

He started walking towards the skyscrapers, gesturing for the others to follow.

The others followed silently. The floors were wooden and looked old, the walls looked a mix of happy and sad.

He continued looking around as he spoke, "We need to find where Dazai's inner self is. We need to be careful as we wander around though. Anyone who doesn't know Dazai could get lost very easily. Stick together and don't wander off on your own."

Professor Snape observed the different pictures that hung on the walls. He and the others stopped to look at the memories as they explored the skyscraper. As they wandered around the walls they began to see a pattern.

"It's only displaying Hogwarts memories," Professor Snape spoke up.

They looked around, Pansy stopped to look at a picture where the Slytherins were eating dinner and Dazai was trying to balance a spoon on his nose. No food on his plate.

"Idiot." she scoffed.

Professor Snape and the others also stopped to look at the picture. They noticed how Dazai attempted to balance the spoon on his nose and seemed to be failing miserably. Professor Snape seemed to pay close attention to the fact that Dazai's plate was empty, unlike the rest of the table.

Snape and the others froze as they heard a sniffle come from around the corner. Professor Snape glanced at them before slowly walking over to where the sound had come from.

As Professor Snape approached the corner he saw Dazai, with a glowing blue outline, sitting there. However, instead of being of the current age, Dazai was the age of a small child. As the small Dazai noticed Professor Snape, he slowly began to transform into the current age Dazai.

"ah, professor? and...my subordinates? interesting"

Professor Snape observed the current aged Dazai. The others stood behind Snape and they all observed him with a mixture of curiosity and wonder in their eyes. Professor Snape spoke up first.

"This is...your inner self, yes?"

"uh, yes? Gotta go now though..." They noticed that the inner Dazai was holding some rope behind his back.

Professor Snape seemed to be surprised by this. He noticed the rope.

"Where are you going?" He asked, his eyes on the rope.

"I simply need to catch-" Inner Dazai wasn't able to finish his sentence as a large black creature stormed into the room. As it walked in everything felt sadder.

Was this a dementor? No. How could a dementor make its way into Dazai's mind?

The thing gave them no time to think, it ran at them.

Professor Snape stared directly at the creature before he shouted out to the others.

"RUN!"

Professor Snape and the others quickly turned around and began to sprint as fast as possible in the opposite direction, not looking back.

As Professor Snape and the others ran the floor suddenly felt soft. When it suddenly broke, everyone began falling for a few seconds. They all landed painfully on a hard, solid surface.

Looking up they saw a long dark hallway. Frames of the paintings on the walls were black. And everything felt worse.
