Chapter Text
Whirl sat atop the academy building. High, it felt so nice to be high up without having to exhaust herself for once.
She could be up here without smiling, without twirling around, without being the happy one... it was nice.
It was such a nice change. It was such a shame it'd go to such waste.
The young autobot sighed, and leaned back. Her propellers resting on the rough cement of the roof. The sky was a mix of oranges and pinks, as the sun begun to set.
For awhile, now, she had been planning on this. On ending her life. On making everyone the most happy they could be... She's not sure why she thinks they'd be happier without her, but she's certainly annoying. So that's one nuisance that they wouldn't have to deal with anymore.
...She's tired, too. So she's just wasting her friends time, when they should've gotten to talk to the energetic and fun Whirl... not the too-chatty anxious bot.
So that's a few reasons, already.
She's so scared of the future, too. She always thought she'd be a rescue bot but... this felt more... peaceful.
She's selfish, she told herself. She's being selfish for wanting to kill herself. As opposed to save others.
She's always selfish. Always talking about what she wants, always thinking of herself.
But she's allowed to be selfish one last time.
Somewhere, deep inside, she knows she'll actually make people sad by this. But a bigger part knows her spark is already extinguished. The Whirl they all once knew is clearly dead, might as well finish the job. They'll get over it.
So, pulling herself up to her feet. She stood unsteady. Before jumping up and transforming into her vehicle mode, and flying off. She'd head somewhere dangerous and specifically lethal type of dangerous. Maybe a... volcano! Or really really unstable rock slide zone!
Something that'd kill her kind.
Awhile ago, she opened up to Professor Blades about her... thoughts. She hadn't meant to, but after a joke gone too far, she had an absolute meltdown. Which was chased by a panic attack. It was terrifying, hearing her vent go faster than she could catch her breathe. Even if she didn't need oxygen, it was scary to lose control. To mess up like that.
And after Blades pulled her aside, guiding her through her anguish... She sobbed, and told him everything.
And he was there for her. And he hugged her and rubbed her back, it reminded her of her dad, actually. The one bot she was truly ever honest with.
And he said, "Oh.. oh Whirl I-... I'm so proud of you, for staying... You're okay, it'll be okay... you don't have to handle this alone..." The rescue bot told her, among other soft words of encouragement.
And he promised to get her help.
And she promised to stay.
