Chapter Text
“I remember…”
Chuuya looked over to the brunette on his right.
“You remember what?”
“I remember this organization, we fought them about a year ago.”
Dazai looked to an annoyed ginger.
They were walking through the port mafia corridors, the boss had called all of the executives in for a meeting.
The two boys walked in silence for the rest of the way, sitting in sync after kneeling before Mori.
Dazai took out a sketchbook, it was a habit he’d acquired during the meetings.
“Thank you for being here today everyone. As you know there is an organization locked up in the basement.
As some of you may know, this is a group we have fought before, however they have somehow managed to regroup and now have vital information on the book.
I have called this meeting to strategize on what each of you could do to ensure this information stays within the Port Mafias walls, and to silence all rumors from your subordinates and co workers.”
Dazai let his brain go to autopilot, whatever he didn’t pick up, Chuuya would be forced to tell him later.
Chuuya.
Suddenly an idea came to Dazai.
It seemed that the human enjoyed looking at flowers, going so far as to have a red spider Lillie embroidered on his vest.
The brunette mainly focused on that.
First sketching the outline, then slowly adding little lines to add detail. As the meeting droned on, with useless after useless strategy was suggested, Dazai kept sketching.
Meanwhile, the other executives did not fail to notice the preoccupation of their Demon Prodigy. They’d gotten used to him not paying attention in meeting, only calling attention to himself by berating them for being stupid.
However, he was hyper focused on his sketch. The only time he glanced up was to look at his reference.
Chuuya.
Though the ginger acted oblivious to the obvious uncomfortableness of being stared down by Dazai, inside he was panicking.
The boy hardly focused on the bosses words, only picking up on bits and pieces of the plan.
He also felt the other executives gazes on him, though they were tons less intense than the Demon Prodigies.
Mori brought the meeting to an end, and Chuuya stood up. Dazai still seeming to be preoccupied got a sharp kick in his shin by the ginger, and he stood up as well.
The brunette quickly tucked the sketch book into his vest, as the ginger watched.
“What were you drawing.”
Chuuya moved closer to his partner, and the brunette looked to him in confusion.
“You never care about what I’m drawing, why the sudden interest?” Dazai sped up, trying to avoid the conversation.
“Because this time you were basically staring me down!”
Dazai stopped, causing Chuuya to bump into his back. “What where you’re going you suicidal maniac!”
“You were the one to bump into me stupid.”The brunette muttered.
Even though this wasn’t the first time he’d drawn Chuuya, it was the first time the latter noticed.
If the stupid slug noticed, then how many others did?
Dazai slid the sketchbook from his vest, and flipped to the most recent page.
“Here.” He said as he handed the book to Chuuya, who took it gently.
The ginger had never been so confused by Dazai than he’d been right now. And that was saying a lot.
At first the makeral was trying to change the subject, then he just stopped in the middle of the hall and handed Chuuya his most prized possession!
Okay, maybe it wasn’t his MOST prized possession, but at least the brunette cared about it.
Chuuya finally got over his shock to look at the drawing.
He immediately recognized the flower.
A red spider Lily.
The same flower he’d asked Koyo to embroider on his vest.
“So that’s why you were staring at me!”
Dazai looked up at Chuuya surprised, how had he not been mad, or even uncomfortable?
“These flowers don’t grow around here do they? And of course they’re known as the ‘death flower’. If you wanted to draw these flowers, you could have just asked y’know. I have a full vase in my apartment. Here we could go there after work. It’s better than having all of the executives, including boss, staring at you staring at me.”
Chuuya gave back his partners book, and started walking again, leaving the brunette alone with his surprise.
He smiled and laughed.
“You are so stupid Chuuya.”
