Lilac Lily

Summary:

Lilac's adventures outside.

Notes:

Yay!!!!

Chapter Text

Lilac had three dresses; one was a raggedy old thing in orange, the other green and too long; the third one was by far the nicest. It was soft and wool, with purple accents and bows.

Lilac wore them often. There was even a picture in the hallway of her when she was three, on her first day of school, wearing the orange dress. At that time it was new, but with time it grew from tangerine orange to dirty burgundy.

The wool dress was one she got from her mother when she was five. At first her mother told her to not ruin it playing outside in the mud, but eventually gave up and Lilac went outside as usual.

That day went something like this. Lilac was overcome by boredom inside, so without a thought she opened the screen door and ran out.

She scampered into the forest, hopping across the mossy stones of the creek. The early spring flowers were in bloom everywhere, so she spent time in the wildflower patches. There were snowdrops, and flowers that looked like paintbrushes, and small yellow ones. Lilac loved them all, and when she saw them she smiled very widely.

The purple flowers of which she was named after(lilacs) were starting to spread their petals beside the flowing creek. She grabbed a bouquet of them, eager to get a close look at them and take them with her.

Lilac climbed up a very sturdy looking tree, and sat there, watching the birds and the sound of water running. She sat there for around half an hour, before carefully sliding down.

Lilac didn't know about going home; she was still having fun outdoors. But eventually, she decided to leave the forest and explore the nearby lake.

Lilac stepped carefully over the river pebbles, looking down and then looking up to take in the scenery. There were gray rocks surrounding the water, and the sky was reflected on the water's surface. Lily pads dotted the surface of the pool.

But something was out of the usual.
