Chapter Text
Hearing heavy falls of water in the room next to him, he jumped out of bed and ran towards the alarm clock to shut it off.
‘Am I late?’
"If I am, the professor is definitely going to be mad at me!”
Running out of his room and heading towards the bathroom door right next to it, he meets his roommate Vennessa formerly known as ‘V’ standing in the door frame with a pink toothbrush in her mouth.
“N? Do you mind throwing out the trash? I already did it yesterday.”
“More like last week…”
“What was that?”
Rushing towards the kitchen, the trash bag was already on the floor. Nathan, nicknamed ‘N,’ picked it up and headed towards the door.
“Nothing!”
Living with his close friend V for three years was…interesting to say the least. It's not like she was a messy or lazy roommate, it's just having to go from hard psychology studying to washing plenty of dishes was a lot. But overall it is fun to live with her. If it wasn't for V he wouldn't be up on time in the morning!
Getting back to the dorm, he began to get ready looking at the clock reading 9:45 am. Putting on his jeans, white t-shirt, gray and orange plaid flannel with his totally not worn-out white sneakers. Looking at himself in his bedroom mirror, ruffing up his hair, slapping his glasses on his face and grabbing his bag, he headed out the door again with his head held high.
Ok, he was only a minute late to class and his first professor was angry at him, something he was already expecting..but he wasn't about to let that get him down! Taking a seat in the back and sipping on his coffee. N opened his laptop and notebook, getting ready to take down any important notes for today's presentation.
An hour had passed, it was time for another group of students to come in. Sometimes he wishes he didn't choose to have this class back-to-back but his studies were very important to him. When he gets this degree he finally become a therapist! The job he had wanted for so long-
To be preoccupied with his thoughts, he was jumped on by the one and only Rebecca.
“Oh N! I missed you so much! Last night I had a dream about us having a family and everything ! For our kid's names I was thinking Cassandra? No, maybe Noelle and Reth? Or maybe..”
Her voice started to fade out while she continued to hug him tightly, as he sat there completely flabbergasted.
He met Rebecca in his second year of college, it was in this very class. He remembers not even getting a greeting, when she first sat next to him she said,
“You're so cute, my friend wants to know if you're single by the way.”
Ever since then she's been…very attached to him? He remembers telling V about how clingy she is and V had told him if shes invading his personal space to tell her to ‘fuck off’. But that would be too rude and he would certainly feel bad.
Till this day he still wonders who the friend is though.
“H-hi? Rebecca, you're sort of choking me..” He squealed, slowly running out of breath.
“Huh? Oh, sorry about that. Don't want you to die before we get married haha.”
“Y-yeah…totally.”

Dealing with Rebecca for an hour is a full-time job. He should be getting paid just for sitting next to her.
Walking a short trip to his locker, he rests all of his textbooks and charts he needs for class. He would keep them in the dorm, but V had said all of the stuff is ‘scaring away the hoes’ whatever that means.
Plus it was way easier keeping them here, with being in a rush in the mornings he most likely would just forget them in his room.
He doesn't even want to imagine the kind of rage the professor would break out in.
Every time he enters the class and gets hit with his angry attitude it doesn't phase him that much anymore, he just feels bad for the old man. Why work in a place you don't enjoy? This is why he wants to take these classes so seriously, even if all of this nerdy stuff scares away the hoes as V saids; all he wants to do is help others in every way possible.
Neatly piling up all of the stuff, N closes his locker and stretches finally ready to go back to his dorm. His other class is at 4:00 pm, maybe in the meantime, he can binge-watch those dog videos. He would get one if this college allowed pets.
Shifting his feet, the walk to his dorm had started but slowly began to come to an end when his vision was blinded by darkness.
Well not actual darkness but it was very close to that.
A small woman breezed past him, heading towards her locker.
It was so obvious to tell which one was hers, it had multiple stickers that had cartoon characters on them. Random scribbles, rhinestones, and spikes were planted outside of it. Even having some flags N didn't quite understand.
Hair was so cut up and fluffy but N can tell it was intentional. Her purple locks matched perfectly with her dark purple contacts and over-the-top makeup. Black lipstick went together with the thick eyeliner, necklace, and choker on her small neck. A long gothic dress is hitting the floor, he couldn't tell you what shoes she had on unless she picked up her feet. Thick platforms are what was on them, covered in chains. The same with her sleeves, they were long and draped over her small hands, two chain bracelets covered each wrist.
N had never seen anyone like this before, blush crept up on his face.
She was so dark yet so interesting, she simply snatched all the breath N ever had.
He wondered if he was staring. Did she see him staring at her?
Blinking and looking up once more, the dark had disappeared making N realize how bright the light was up above.
Who is that? And why is she so…beautiful?

While walking into the silent classroom she can hear her platforms hit the wooden flooring beneath her. Eyes watching her as she stepped toward her seat, today was the day they were presenting their projects. Uzi had prepped for this last night, she was scared but also confident within herself.
‘ok , the sooner I do this the quicker it will be over.’
Collecting her laptop from her desk, she turned around and headed towards the front of the room. Plugging in her computer to the smart board, her Google slides popped on the screen.
“Sooo, we've all seen basic human behaviors when the sun is bright outside right? Some cover their face to block sunlight, while others wear shades; but there is one weird thing I've seen since spring started.”
She reached over to press the spacebar on her keyboard.
“People are bringing out umbrellas to block sunlight! I think they are doing this because they think this is the most efficient way to shut out the rays but it's still a little strange don't you think? My theory for this is that they are vampires!” With arms up in the air she shouts. Looking up to see her classmates wearing puzzled faces.
“Ok hear me out, that's out of human nature! Umbrellas are for when it drizzles or rains! Why would anyone use it for the sun? The only explanation is that they are not human, we have real-life vampires living among us!-”
“Yeah like you?” A student questions.
The room soon erupts into laughter before Uzi can clap back and say anything more.
Head now down, she slowly walks to pick up her device and gets back to her seat.
