Chapter Text
Long ago, even before humans started to count the years that went by, there lived beings on this world that could not be described. Some looked like ghosts wearing dark blue robes and green hats, a face like a pumpkin that called the forests their home. Near the oceans and the cold arctic there lived creatures that were as funny as they could be scary. Wearing blue and yellow boots, a blue cap with a yellow symbol in the middle, they had arms and legs like a stuffed animal and a face of similar nature. There were also pixies, giant snakes with the upper body of a woman and many more. In the middle of them all though, there were beings that looked eerily like humans, safe for their feathered wings and long teeths. Some would have called them fallen angels, but today, they are simply called one thing: Vampires.
All these creatures, no matter how big nor small, accepted the scary predators as their leaders. Under the vampire's rule, they lived peacefully in the world. But all peace must come to an end sometime - and this end was called the birth of the human race. At first, the mystical beings were being friendly, helping this new race to build their homes, grow their own corps and feed themselves. And nothing happened really, they simply coexisted next to each other. But with time, the humans grew needy, wanting more and more. The land that the vampires gave them where no longer enough for them, the cows they received killed before new calves could be born, the fields no longer big enough to create enough corps for them to eat. And thus, they started to hunt the special, the pixies and the flying pumpkins called pyro jacks and many more. Before long the highest of the vampires, the queen of the night - Nyx - could no longer sit still and watch as her friends and family were slaughtered and killed, and so the “great War of Humans and Monsters” began.
The war was gruesome and took many lives on both fronts. At the end, Nyx and the king of the humans were tired of the bloodshed and the pain of losing their loved ones and thus created a binding vow that would split their worlds in two, as well as their countries and cities. This was especially visible in the capital of the main region they both called their home, Iwatodai, which was now divided by a large wall. With this, peace came back once again to the region of Tatsumi and the city of Iwatodai for many years. But in the shadows of the night, nothing is ever as perfect as it seems. Humans still often hunt for roaming vampires and the likes. And the others? Well, they had to hunt to survive and sometimes, they had to take a human even if they did not want to.
But this story plays way more in the present, to be exact more than 2000 years after this occurrence. In the year 2009, many humans don’t remember the gruesome war anymore and also stopped believing in the stories of magical creatures and vampires. But there are still a few families and clans who take pleasure in hunting these beings, remembering the darker days of history. One of those clans is the Arisato-Clan. But what happens when the unlikely happens? What happens when the son of the Arisato’s, hidden away as a girl for his whole life because of one wrong made promise of his ancestors, and the son of the queen of night, meet and without warning fall in love with each other? Will their love be stronger than the hate of their families or will they fall to a tragic fate such as some of their ancestors?
